Käfer's Theater-Gastronomie GmbH in München

Last night, we had a very unpleasant experience with Käfer Catering at the Munich State Opera. I had booked and confirmed interval drinks for a bar table in the south wing of the Ionic Hall. However, this wing was reserved for a private party. We only found out that evening, AFTER I inquired, that our order was simply sitting on a service cart, and we would have to find a place to sit with it. It really had a train station kiosk feel to it and was embarrassing for our two guests. The employee there was friendly, but said there was nothing he could do; it was a booking system error. What, the system's fault? That's always the simplest solution. An intelligent solution would have been as follows: They simply refill a few bar tables in the north wing of the Ionic Hall and/or place the tablets on the chairs along the wall. It's something like that. At the Gärtnerplatztheater, stools are also being converted into bar tables because there's not much space there. Another option would have been to triple the standing tables in the north section, not just double them. There was still room on the tables, as we saw. That this wouldn't be optimal for everyone is undeniable, but the fact that those who booked the south hall ended up being the ones who lost out is completely unacceptable. I would have at least expected you to point out the problem when assigning me the table number, which I received by email that same afternoon, and not just leave us "standing there looking stupid." If I hadn't asked beforehand what was happening with the tables in the closed-off section, we would have had to search for them during the intermission. Wonderful! Professionalism is (completely) different. Next time, we'll bring drinks from home and consume them outside on the steps. It's much cheaper – and there are no unpleasant surprises.

Ludwig 2 was catastrophically renovated and has the feel of a boudoir and ladies' toilet. Beetle can't do anything about it. But for the overpriced uninspired food. Sounds good. Tastes like canteen. But with the timing it works.

Unfortunately, I can only agree with the critical voices. The theater catering is underground, even worse than it was at Dallmayr. The staff is overwhelmed in terms of time and organization. The food was actually pretty good, but the portions were way too expensive. The space situation at the tables is unreasonable, the reservation system is digitalized, so that you find yourself somewhere where you have to eat and sort drinks in a very small space with other guests. Sorry, I think we're giving up our old tradition of eating something during break.

The ambience was of course festive during Christmas time. Food was good. Good recommendation from the waitress. You can then look around and shop in the delicatessen.

We stopped by the bistro for a quick snack before shopping at the delicatessen market. Very friendly and attentive staff, a very pleasant clientele, and a relaxed bistro-style atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the bread and coffee (Alrighty from the Werksviertel). Caesar was very good. My wife's carpaccio was good... could have been a little thinner. All in all, it's always worth a visit to fortify yourself for the subsequent shopping trip.

At first, we were happy that the Käfer was back after the very poor catering at Dallmayr. But now we've gone from the frying pan into the fire. A dried-out tartar roll in the first break and absolutely inedible zander in the second. A disgrace!! The Käfer doesn't seem to care about its reputation anymore.

I went to this place with a friend for an afternoon snack but I wasn't overly hungry.. I asked for dessert (a few were listed) but I was told there were desserts in the bakery next door - I should go there, pick it up and come back. Sorry, this is no way to treat customers. The setting was fine, the fresh orange juice was also good. But the overall feeling we both got was that we were not welcome and that service was not on the menu.

Unfortunately, it was anything but enjoyable... During the first break there was a moderate spritz with weak canapes, although the spreads were already dry. During the second break, an opera plate that was completely wrong in taste. It's actually a shame, but now it was the last time we ate at the opera.

Yesterday during the opera break, for the first time, Käfer instead of Dallmayr gastronomy. Unfortunately the organization was confusing, Was there alone and according to the email had a place at two tables! The salmon was of mediocre quality, the beer was lukewarm at best, the bread was completely stale, the salad was dried out. All in all, a tired imitation of what it used to be, but the ambience is of course still stunning.

Yesterday at the opera, table 202 in the Rheingoldbar. Wine was ok, but too warm Brioche bites ok, a little soggy. Canapés - edition ok, decoration ok, the bread felt very stale, hard and chewy, tasted like it was from the day before yesterday! Apparently it was left in the beetle tent. Sorry, a disgrace. Probably hardly edible for people with teeth. I really expect more. The automatic tip requirement when paying online borders on excessive.

Hammer Service. Selten einen besseren Kellner erlebt. Besten Dank an Achmed!! Werde ich ganz klar weiterempfehlen. Beste Grüsse aus der Schweiz.
