Käfer in Berlin

We went to this restaurant for brunch on a Saturday. There's a separate entrance where you don't have to wait forever at the security check. ID is required for everyone over 16. The staff, who presumably have nothing to do with the restaurant, were very friendly. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were again greeted very warmly at the counter by two employees and escorted to our seats. We were offered several seats to choose from. We made a reservation online. Nobody wanted to see our reservation, just our name. In the summer, you can sit outside. You have a beautiful view of Berlin. I've attached photos of the menu(s). There's a selection of five different breakfast options, all of which are very filling and beautifully presented. I find the pricing a bit excessive (especially on the drinks menu). I have to deduct a star for that. I know that for €35, a drink can (and should) be included. But I can order one for an additional €6-10. That's not possible. You have 90 minutes to eat, relax, and enjoy. I hope everyone has fun, and we'll definitely be back.

We were there for breakfast and were very impressed, all the ingredients were of the best quality, the staff was very accommodating, it's not cheap, but you don't do it every day. Afterwards we visited the Reichstag dome, unfortunately we had high fog and therefore not the best visibility, but it was still a very nice experience 😊

Advance reservation is required for bright skylights and electric sunshades for viewing the clouds on sunny days and rainy days on cloudy days.

We were there for breakfast. Bright and friendly atmosphere and, when the weather is good, a great view over the city. The breakfast was very tasty, the service was very friendly. However, overpriced.

I visited this restaurant in March 2025, and let's say it was a fantastic afternoon. The views of the city were incredible because you could see literally everything. The food was great and so was the service.

Extraordinary location on the roof of the Reichstag. Courteous service and good craftsmanship. I found the starter delicate, but most of my companions found it too salty. The beef fillet was pink, tender and without any flaws, the asparagus was on point and generously peeled. The dessert was the low point of the otherwise lovely menu: the dough was quite dry and the parfait had unfortunately already thawed completely. The view from the roof terrace is fantastic, especially at sunset when the weather is good.

Wonderful menu accompanied by good wines. Tip: Visit the dome beforehand.

Good coffee, but only if you come to eat you can sit outside where the view is beautiful (there were at least 7 empty tables outside, without a reservation, but we were not allowed to sit down). Staff wasn't really friendly either and you pay 5.90 for a simple cappuccino.

The food was very good. However, the staff was bitchy and arrogant. Unfortunately the toilets were dirty. You would definitely expect more cleanliness and friendliness from such a very high-priced restaurant!

Restaurant reservations provide access to the Reichstag Building, including the glass dome! There is a 20euro per person deposit/hold at the time of reserving in case you don’t show up. Our group was late to make visit reservations for the dome itself, which is free, so we opted for an Aperitif afternoon at the rooftop restaurant. Reservations are required online with the names/birthday of all attendees as indicated on their passport. Food was beautifully presented. Decent for the price we paid but really the best part was the atmosphere. It was particularly nice to sit indoors in a warm place and enjoy the view. The glass dome, is only partially enclosed, still open air, and not heated. Highly recommend the restaurant to bypass the lines as well.

Overall, it deserves a high rating. Service, location, food, view of the city... Sitting on the balcony, having an aperitif, in short... good times. I suggest, before or after the meal, to visit the dome of the parliament. (There is a small queue at the entrance to the parliament, security checks, etc., so it is important to arrive a little before your booked time. Yes, reservations are required.)

Unfortunately it's a total failure and I can't recommend it. The restaurant only lives from the great view. Unfortunately, the competence of the service staff varies greatly and for a gourmet restaurant there is definitely room for improvement. The starter was okay, but unfortunately nothing special. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for the main course and the guests who arrived after us were all already finished and received the dishes before us.

I had the most exquisite meal at a tourist attraction in Germany. It was delicious and creative, and the sparkling water was even more delicious! It is recommended to make a reservation in advance!

I think it’s a Must visit for everyone visiting Berlin. The restaurant is perfectly situated in the Reichstag so you do have to reserve and go through added security measures but it’s worth it and the whole process was quite easy. The menu was quite simple and minimalist. It features classic schnitzel and duck. In addition to a whole separate 3 course vegetarian/vegan options. You can mix and match your preferred options. It was quite delicious and perfect place to have a nicer lunch overlooking the Berlin skyline. Service was extremely accommodating and welcoming. Everything was executed in a timely manner. Really recommend for all visitors! Hidden gem!

great place on the roof of the German Bundestag. 😍 You can't get in without a reservation. very nice and attentive service! The breakfast is super delicious and there is enough to fill you up. However, I think the price of €33 to €44 (feel-good breakfast) is clearly at the top price limit! The coffee isn't even included, you pay for it additionally and it's not cheap either! (That's why only 3 stars in the overall rating... because otherwise it would be really great!) It's a shame, because you see once again that because people come anyway... you can also "rip them off". 😏

A very nice selection for breakfast, would have liked to have the option of the burcher muesli without vegan options, hence 4 stars. Service was spectacular, and the view is unmatched. Excellent kids breakfast. Maybe a smallet portion of fruit salad and yoghurt woulf be better though.

It's ridiculous that the store is almost empty and they said a group was coming and 45 minutes later it's still empty. Here you should probably rethink the concept of reservation. In addition, the emergency room is not staffed and when asked, the employee is said to be sick. And in a building like this.

Just wow. The ambience is amazing, you can see so far when the weather is good. The breakfast was also great. Very diverse and also suitable for vegans and vegetarians. The service staff was very courteous and friendly. This event should not be missed.

You are offered a beautiful view and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Unfortunately, at €44 per person for breakfast, I expected a little more. The employees are friendly at first, but then they hardly show up anymore. Repeat orders are initially offered, but then no one can be seen to take them.... The glasses are touched in the drinking area, the floor is damaged, the sanitary facilities are very basic. It was nice, but I won't be coming back. I felt much more comfortable at much more moderate prices.

Inside the dome, there’s a light deflection cone made up of 360 mirrors that channel daylight into the plenary hall below. It's an engineering marvel and a sight to behold. 📸🏛️😍 Back to the food — service was impeccable from the moment we arrived. The hostess seated us quickly, and our waiter was an absolute gem 🌟. It's not cheap, but it was well worth it. The food was fantastic! Remember to book in advance, arrive early, and bring your passport! You can also explore the Reichstag building roof afterwards.

Funny experience in the kafier. Went there for coffee without reservation, one lady in the front desk was asking if I had booked the table and left me on the table without saying anything. A guy came asking if some colleagues showed me the table and left without saying anything. Bad experience about that( hope those two can see this review). If the tickets have long since been fully booked, the Käfer Restaurant always has our joker ready for the Reichstag tour in the glass dome. Very good customer service when it comes to reservations, emails are answered quickly within 24 hours with a guaranteed seat for 1.5 hours a practical 2-course menu with guaranteed sales in a higher price category. When you're cooking, you walk past the smiling cooking crew, we had fun :-) High-quality, delicious selection of dishes in the usual quality. Really good, attentive service with noticeably trained specialists. If If the next visit registers at short notice, then we'll be back. Anyone who wants to go to Käfers on the roof of the Reichstag building must register in advance with their ID number and undergo airport-like checks. We got there on time, didn't have to wait long and everything went very friendly and professionally. Everyone who eats in the same time slot will be forwarded together. The view over Berlin was wonderful, the service was attentive, friendly and humorous, and everything that ended up on our plates was absolutely delicious. The bread rolls are hard to beat in terms of their crunchiness. We really enjoyed the meal.

The fact that you can also visit the Reichstag dome with a reservation at the Käfer Restaurant was the reason for my visit. As expected, I chose a 2-course menu. The food was delicious and very nicely presented. However, there could be a little more time between dishes, as the table is available for 2 hours anyway. The service seemed a bit rushed. I was then done with everything in 45 minutes.

Restaurant located at the top of the German parliament building, reservations are required to access it. The staff are very friendly, knowing it was mine and my brother's birthday they gave us some mugs. The breakfast is good, you can choose an entire menu with sweet and savory breakfast

The Käfer restaurant is on the roof terrace of the Reichskuppel. A great atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and the food is very tasty. The selection is limited, but we think that's a good thing. The offers are very expensive, so you don't do it every day anyway. Under no circumstances should you forget your ID card, otherwise you will not be able to get through the security checks and into the Reichstag itself. We felt we were in good hands and would definitely recommend this restaurant.

A disappointing experience despite a nice ambience Unfortunately, my recent experience at this restaurant was less than satisfactory. The service and the restaurant management turned out to be helpless and arrogant. We had to wait over an hour for our starter without anyone informing us or offering us anything to bridge the waiting time. When we finally pointed out our dissatisfaction to the restaurant manager, she didn't respond to the criticism at all and tried to portray us as difficult guests. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we finally canceled the visit. There was absolutely no trace of hospitality and not the slightest consideration was given to us as guests. This is particularly unfortunate as the ambience of the restaurant is really nice. But even the nicest ambience cannot hide such poor service. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Our visit to the Käfer roof garden restaurant on the Reichstag building was an unforgettable experience. We were there in the afternoon and had the aperitif etagere, which was outstanding in both presentation and taste. We were particularly impressed by the breathtaking view and the opportunity to visit the dome of the Reichstag building. The combination of culinary enjoyment and the historical surroundings is truly unique. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. We can highly recommend the Käfer roof garden restaurant and look forward to visiting again.

In combination with the roof terrace and the dome it is always an experience. We prefer to go to the Appero because the étagère surprises us with small delicacies and you can enjoy the unique view over the city with a coffee. The service is very friendly and accommodating. On a Wednesday afternoon, the access time of about 10 minutes from the entrance container to the restaurant was also limited.

I have made a booking for a lunch on 6/9/2024 around 1:30pm for 45 people (a premium lunch menu, hopefully there is space :)

A magnificent restaurant on the roof of the Reichstag building. Quite expensive, but the quality of food and level of service well justify the price. Be sure to keep in mind that you need to reserve your seats in advance and you must enter your details - first name, last name and year of birth. To enter the building you will need a passport or other identification document. You also need to go through security, like at an airport. But all this is worth it to get to this restaurant. :-) There are stunning views of Berlin from the terrace. Superbly trained and amazingly polite waiters speaking a wide variety of languages. Their English is simply excellent. I would also like to note the excellent wine list, which even includes exquisite spirits. Definitely recommend!

Will always try and come here when visiting Berlin. The food is so good (but pricey) and staff are always lovely. We had the feelgood breakfast and it's a lot of food! Everything was delicious though and you have enough time to enjoy it. Reichstag entry is included so you can walk it off up and down the dome with beautiful views. Highly recommend!

The worst customer service, I would never recommend it in my life.

A bit pricey, but worth it for access to the Bundestag (with a skip the line perk!) and the view of Berlin. The apéro meal had a preset menu, with a choice of dessert. I chose the pistachio cake which was good. The presentation of the dish was cute and chic, and surprisingly filling for being the cheapest thing on the menu. The apéro also came with a Prosecco drink. I was sat right next to the window with a view of Berlin and the TV tower in the distance. After having just done my audio tour of the dome, this was a great, calm spot to relax in the afternoon.

The dream of every stay in Berlin. We booked the tickets for this long beforehand and felt really comfortable as soon as we entered the Reichstag. The service is very courteous and the feel-good breakfast for 44 euros is a bit expensive, but absolutely appropriate for the location and quality.

We were totally satisfied. Of course it's not cheap, but you're the first to get into the Reichstag, including the dome, and you're also served a good view during a very good breakfast. A nice overall package!

It was a great breakfast, but on sunny days when it's cold, I recommend wearing short clothes under the thick sweater. But the warmth of the sun ☀ could also damage the great ambience. Thank you for this great moment.

Access was a difficult act. In order to sit at the table on time, you should. Plan on paying 20 for the chaotic and quite unfriendly entrance (security gate). When I finally got to the table, my good mood was gone. We sat in the glassed-in outdoor area, the furnishings had something like a café, cool, bright light, not very lovingly decorated, and an overall uncomfortable atmosphere. The wine, the food, the view and the service, however, were really first class and a real pleasure. The prices are still too high for the overall package of services; you also pay for the tourist offer. I might still come back in the summer to give it a second chance.

The great view over Berlin from the roof terrace of the Bundestag is an impressive experience for tourists. Service very courteous, quick and precise. Quality of ingredients good, price/performance ratio not good: For example, a bottle of rosé (Rheingau: 1, 2, Dry) is sold for €39, which is €8 online in retail and €3-4. A second course, for example a soup, costs an additional €20-25: You have to pay for the location, of course, but small portions and utopian margins don't whet your appetite. Even in terms of cleanliness (dirty table feet) or the last detail (bamboo paper napkin instead of cloth napkin), the Käfer in Berlin cannot be associated with fine dining.

30 min dome tour with audio guide included. That was great. Hence 4 stars. 7 course menu was delicious, unfortunately the meat was a bit tough. Paper napkins destroy the fine dining vibe for me, as do water stains on cutlery. Idea: paper on the toilet, cloth on the table if it can only be one. Service otherwise top! Great view.

Highly recommend to come here for a special occasion. We enjoyed a nice view together with delicious food. the service is also excellent. Given all of this the prices are quite reasonable. We will come back.
