The staff at Le Voyage were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the whole meal. They treated us to a delicious plum wine, which was such a lovely surprise. Highly recommend the Di Guo Ji (chicken stew) — the flavor was truly authentic and absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back!

Very friendly and authentic service. The food was superb! The Peking duck was fantastic and highly recommended. Pre-ordering is advised. The Mala Bowl with vegetables and tofu and the Dim Sum with shrimp were also delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Authentic Chinese food outside of China! Dishes are packed with lots of flavour but are bit on the oilier side. The price to pay for rich and deep sauce is a slip and slide! Worth it! They also gave out a complimentary dish of shrimp crackers and some guava juice at the end which was lovely!

The food was quite subpar, almost completely unseasoned. The Szechuan chili chicken had exactly one peppercorn; it wasn't spicy at all. The meat was dry and tough. The duck curry, on the other hand, was almost entirely fat. Of our six main courses, one was good, one was okay, and the rest were truly awful. The service wasn't particularly attentive, which might be because only two of the waiters understood German well enough. Perhaps there's a special, secret menu for Chinese guests; otherwise, this certainly isn't authentic Chinese food. I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Have been there for lunch and a long ago recommendation from a friend. Ratings looked good, so why not give it a try? Well, not living up to the ratings that day. :( It`s not expensive, but even for that, the food was warmed up left overs in a bad way. This actually can be great, but not how it was done this day. It was empty as well, so maybe they changed and declined and the ratings are from a good past. Somone would really have to convice me to come again.

Just so people know that when the restaurant is busy, you only have 1.5 hr for dinner (not pre notified after reservation). They first let you wait for 15 mins to get your order and then 15mins to prepare for your food, which only results in 1hr’s total dining time. The staff will not only invite you out half way of your dining with friend but also push her ATM machine against your phone to rub money before you decide which card to pay because she needs to clear you and your friend out for the next customers for more money. It was absolutely delicious, and the waiters were incredibly welcoming. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. The fish in garlic-chili sauce was delicious, not too spicy for my taste. I also enjoyed the pork in Peking sauce, although I found it a bit too sweet.

Probably the best chinese restaurant in town. Went with a group of 4 and we shared the xuzhou style pot chicken, fried spareribs and the tofu skin noodles with vegetables. Including two starters, desserts and a drink each it was about 135€ so not bad. Food was rly good and is authentic! The spareribs were crunchy and tasty. The chicken pot is rly flavorful although I wouldn't mind it to be a lil spicier and the vegetable plate was nice too. Liked the starters and desserts too. Overall just a v good spot for proper chinese food in Munich.

Fantastic, authentic Chinese restaurant. The owner is super nice and always happy to help with advice (and translation). The food is beautifully presented, and spiciness levels are discussed when ordering. We always enjoy coming here :) It's recommended to come in larger groups, so you can try everything. During the week, you don't actually need to make a reservation.

Le Voyage in Munich-Schwabing is a true gem! The name suggests French cuisine, but it's actually a Chinese specialty restaurant – one that goes far beyond the usual offerings. From the outside, the restaurant initially appears rather unassuming, almost like a snack bar from the 1980s. Inside, however, it surprises with its stylish, cozy interior and very pleasant atmosphere. The cuisine is simply fantastic. Instead of the usual run-of-the-mill dishes like sweet and sour chicken, they serve exciting, authentic creations – including Szechuan specialties. This means: a bit spicier, very aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. We were particularly impressed by the sea bass in Szechuan sauce and the tender lamb in a coriander and chili sauce – both a taste experience! The portions are very generous, the presentation of the dishes is appealing, and the prices are absolutely fair for this quality. The service also deserves praise: the ladies serving are extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside: the restaurant is unfortunately less suitable for wheelchair users, as the restrooms are only accessible via stairs. In conclusion: If you're looking for high-quality Chinese cuisine with a particular regional focus, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back!

Very nice restaurant with many homemade dishes and dim sum

Aside from my girlfriend, whom I've never met, this restaurant's chef is the only one who can capture my appetite.

Unreserved recommendation, especially for the dim sum. We also had "only" a Peking duck (not a whole one!), which was also very good, and a particularly delicious dessert (black rice with coconut and herb jelly). But there's much more, some of which we've already been able to try on subsequent visits 😉 We can especially recommend the dim sum; it's something very special for Munich. The service is very warm and friendly. The decor and ambiance are much nicer than the building suggests from the outside, very pleasant!

The staff are very nice and friendly, and the decor is attractive. However, the food didn't convince me; it didn't seem particularly authentic, and I've been to China several times. The eggplant in garlic and ginger sauce, for example, was sweet, which isn't something I'm used to, and I wasn't looking for that either.

I recently visited Le Voyage in Munich – an overall very nice lunch, even if the culinary concept wasn't quite my personal taste – I'm apparently not yet 100% used to "real China." The restaurant offers very authentic Chinese cuisine, with dishes you might not necessarily expect from your typical "standard Chinese" restaurant. If you're looking for new taste experiences and like to venture beyond sweet and sour and fried noodles, this is definitely the place for you! The dishes are creative, bold, and prepared with love – everyone in our group loved the food. The venue is spacious, modern, and stylishly decorated, and the service was consistently friendly, warm, and attentive. While we did have to wait quite a while for our food, which was a bit of a disappointment, the team was very charming, served small gifts, and apologized with a genuine smile – this creates a sense of sympathy and shows that they really care about their guests. In conclusion: If you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine with a special twist, this is the place for you. For me personally, it wasn't a 100% hit this time, but I can well understand why many people are excited.

What a fantastic restaurant! We stumbled upon this gem by chance through the book "Taste Twelve" and were absolutely thrilled! The food was delicious, and the service was a 12 out of 10! Highly recommended!

Concept of dining miles away from tourist hype is actually my favorite — and Le Voyage placed in the quiet labyrinth building of Fallmerayerstraße fulfills it right. Even more so, check for a couple can be 50 EUR only, especially if one is only having dim sums. Overall blend of regional modernized cuisine in stylish interiors with some traditional twists. Service is attentive and quick. Main bonus point — they do have Peking duck in the menu, and they also have an outdoor terrace to enjoy it “in der frischen Luft”.

If you want to eat roast duck, come here! In fact, what overseas Chinese eat is the taste of memory and nostalgia! 💐The Shandong lady inside was very enthusiastic and nice! She also gave me free hot water. It warmed my heart! You can try it. I also ate fish!

The dining space is very dark, and it is a bit tiring to use your eyes for a long time. The restaurant does not have a strong smell of oil smoke, and the dining experience is good. Recommended: The noodles of the clay pot chicken are very chewy, and at the same time, they have the freshness of chicken, and they will not become mushy even after long cooking. The red oil stir-fry is not spicy, and the filling is not memorable. The buns are ordinary. The service is good and fast.

My dear friend from another city was visiting after a long time and I really wanted to take her to somewhere special. This place didn’t disappoint. The food was really excellent, best Chinese food I ever tried, from starters to the main, everything was delicious. The service was extremely attentive and warm and as someone who is very sensitive to noise I also appreciated the ambience. No loud music, calm, we talk and hear each other and the interior design was beautiful too. We were super hungry when we arrived and food came fast and was beautifully presented. I can feel that someone is really putting their heart at making this place work. Ao thank you for your hospitality!

An oasis in Schwabing where you can enjoy not only homemade dim sum but also authentic Peking Duck. The friendly ladies who work here can explain the menu perfectly. Here you can see the Chinese cake expertise. The terrace is super nice in summer – shady and quiet, even though you're only two minutes from Kurfürstenplatz.

Please do the reservation if you are planning to go on a Saturday. Otherwise the waiting is long. We were three people did not book. The drinks felt very strong in their taste. The food, over all taste is good but bit too oily for my taste. But if your taste buds are wanting some flavour and taste. Go for it. Also, if you are a vegetarian, there are very few options, the cost is on the pricier side when compared to the non veg food.

The best and the most authentic taste of the northern China! The smile of my Beijing travel partner says it all! Will be visiting Le Voyage in all my future trips to the Munich area.

I first tried le voyage when I was studying in Munich a few years ago, right after it opened. It was quality, properly seasoned and cooked food with a wide range of cuisines from various parts of China (especially the often spicy Sichuan cuisine which many other restaurants get away with covering bad ingredients with chili and MSG, but not here) and beyond (their General Zo’s Chicken, a Taiwanese dish that went viral in USA, was the best I’ve had anywhere). It was one of my go-to places in Munich. Bonus point for the owner who is a specialist in wine as well. After the past years of moving places and living through Covid, I finally managed to revisit here last week on a trip. I was surprised that the owner was still working with all the staff herself, and she recognised me immediately having not seen each other for 5 years. We were not friends and I didn’t come each every month. That’s the level of attention and passion she has with her business. And the food was ever better than before. The flavours were well balanced, right texture, veg stir-fried with high heat but no excessive oil. Nothing was too salty (unlike many other Chinese restaurants). I’m happy that they managed to not only live through the tough years but also flourished. In case you’re not familiar with the East Asian restaurants in Munich (and Germany in general), many of them are chained, and they do a lot of promo to make themselves popular. Le voyage is completely independent. Their chef has been working here for 5 years. Only thing they care is food, drink and their customers.

The waiters have two sisters who have very good attitudes, which is worthy of praise. After all the praise, let’s talk about the negative comments: 1. The serving speed is extremely slow. We didn’t get to our seats before 8:30. We had the first dish at 9.13 and the last dish at 9.45. Do you want us to starve to death? ? ? Although I was given a bottle of wine and 2 plum wines in the end, which stopped me from writing a negative review. But food safety is a serious problem 2. The taste is terrible. Is ground pot chicken food for humans? There was no taste at all, no saltiness or stickiness, and the cake tasted undercooked. For 30.8 euros, I felt like I had eaten 2 pieces of white flour steamed buns. The Xuzhou-style eggplant is not crispy at all. Is the doubanjiang about to expire or something? I threw in all the leftovers at once? Did the chef finish the steps without tasting the dishes? ? ? 3. Food safety! ! ! I didn’t want to post it, but food safety caused me to vomit! ! ! I only felt generally uncomfortable after eating, and the discomfort subsided after walking for a while. but! ! ! My partner vomited three times after eating for nearly half an hour. It’s horrible. No matter how unhygienic she is, she will vomit after going home after eating. I didn’t expect that this time she would vomit after eating and go out. It’s a disaster. I can only say that the food at this restaurant is a disaster.

The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a high-rise building - the ambience is simple but OK. The service was friendly, attentive and tried hard, which made the stay pleasant. The food was consistently very authentic and tasted really convincing. Anyone looking for Chinese cuisine outside the mainstream is in good hands here. A clear minus point was the cocktail - unfortunately the taste was completely wrong and not drinkable. The four of us paid €160, which was okay for the quality of the food. Overall a solid experience with good food, friendly service and minor weaknesses in the drinks department.
