Joul´s Food in Landau in der Pfalz

We were quite disappointed. The food wasn't fresh. The mushrooms were canned, and the other ingredients were also quite stale. We were really looking forward to a fresh punch. The kimchi was initially missing, and when we pointed it out, the first response was that it was included. After mentioning it a second time, we received some more, but it was already past its best and no longer good. When we pointed this out, the only response was, "That's how it's supposed to be." So, everything was rather chaotic, with no fresh ingredients, and therefore not tasty. It also upset our digestion. A tiny portion of fries cost six euros. Far too expensive. The burger, however, was apparently good. What a shame.

Joul's offers a diverse selection of bowls, tacos, burgers, and other dishes, and we were absolutely delighted. The ambiance is lovely and immediately inviting. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply excellent. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definitely be back – highly recommended!

Very tasty, especially a great blend of flavors.

Our visit was a complete disappointment. The two of us entered the restaurant, which was only moderately busy at the time, with perhaps four other tables. We were allowed to choose our own seats, studied the menu, and knew within minutes what we wanted to order. The menus were already closed on the table, a clear signal. What followed was simply unprofessional: nothing. Despite repeatedly making eye contact with the staff, no order was taken. After about 25 minutes of waiting, we even went to the restroom one after the other – again, no response whatsoever. Instead, the staff simply wiped down the neighboring table while we were consistently ignored. After a total of about 35 minutes without any service, we finally got up and left. This is absolutely unacceptable. Such behavior has nothing to do with hospitality. Anyone who deliberately ignores guests shouldn't be surprised by bad reviews. Especially disappointing: A look at older reviews shows that this problem is apparently not an isolated incident, but rather systemic. For us, definitely the first and last time.

Even for the typical Jägerschnitzel/Athenteller/Schiefer Sack/with everything a bit spicy consumer, this is a real hit. Super delicious!

I'm a huge fan of Jouls Food! Everything tastes fresh and delicious. I go there often and look forward to the tasty dishes every time. SUPER!

I had a really great bowl, absolutely delicious and varied, fresh and diverse! I'd order again anytime and highly recommend it.

We went here for dinner, and the restaurant was very busy that evening. As a result, we unfortunately had to wait a little longer for our food. However, the staff apologized immediately, which we appreciated. I had the Legend Burger and was absolutely thrilled with the taste. A definite 10/10 for me – incredibly delicious and highly recommended. I also poured myself a Moretti beer, which was a great and unique experience. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere, and above all, the quality of the food impressed us all. Overall, we had a very pleasant evening. We can therefore wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and will gladly return.

We visited Joul's Food for the first time today and were quite curious. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes without any service or staff at the register to place an order, we left empty-handed. I got the impression that the staff were sitting at a table (without a direct view of the register) and that their phones were more important to them than taking orders. It's a shame, as we will neither recommend Joul's nor plan to visit again. 0 stars for service and hospitality; I can't comment on the food, but at these prices, good service should really be included.

This was our second visit. On our first visit about a year ago, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. While the wait was considerably longer than this time, the quality was excellent. On our second visit, the wait was pleasantly short, but unfortunately, the quality was disappointing. In our opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right. My "Legend" burger tasted good, but the bun was very soggy, and some of the ordered toppings, like bacon, were missing. The fries were very dark, small, extremely oily, and barely edible. After our main course, we even ordered dessert to give it another try. Unfortunately, the waffles were also disappointing. They were almost tasteless, dry, barely sweet, and rather salty, and at €8, definitely not good value for money. After the meal, all four of us had stomach aches. It's hard to say for sure if it was directly related to the food, but it was noticeable. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day – that can happen. Overall, this visit didn't convince us to return. Therefore, two stars, and only because the lady at the checkout was nice.

Everything that arrived at the table was delicious: wraps, bowls, burgers. A slightly different concept: you order at the counter, the food is brought to your table, and you get your drinks, if they're bottled, from the refrigerators.

I'm a frequent customer at Joul's and am always more than satisfied. The atmosphere and decor are very harmonious. Depending on the time of day, it can sometimes take a little while, but so far, I've found it perfectly acceptable. The bowls taste fresh and delicious, and I've always been able to request extras. The staff is always excellent and friendly. In the summer, the courtyard is the highlight.

We went there with a large group. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The selection consists mainly of burgers and bowls, some with very creative and unusual combinations, for example, a burger with pulled pork and mango. The waffles for dessert were also really tasty. The ambiance is modern and cozy; you immediately feel comfortable and can relax. You order at reception, and the food is then brought to your table by the waitstaff.

It was supposed to open at 4 p.m., but the door remained locked. After about 10 minutes—by which time 14 people had waited in the cold—the door opened, a woman (the owner?) poked her head out, and announced, in a rather condescending manner, that they were closed for a private event. There was no sign indicating this. An apology would have been nice, but this woman clearly lacked that kind of decency. How wonderful that Landau has so much more to offer!

The worst café ever. The food is simply disgusting. It's extremely loud inside, and elderly people sit nearby blasting their music. I hope the police come and get you!

Very delicious and beautifully presented dishes

Very expensive prices... The price-performance ratio is completely off. ...you can put together the same bowl at Rewe for a maximum of €4.50. You won't get full at Rewe or here, but at least you don't have to spend a fortune 🙄🫣 ...if it at least tasted better than elsewhere...but it doesn't. A shame. Otherwise, a nice place to stay. Addendum: Unfortunately, a very unfriendly and totally unprofessional response...What a shame. I'm sure you've heard before that the price-performance ratio isn't right...you should take that as an opportunity to reconsider your approach...

Something different for a change!

Unfortunately, the price isn't higher than ***. The bowl looks great, but—in a business-like way—it consists mostly of cheap ingredients like beets, and costs €18. And despite the large portion (photo), you still don't feel full...

The Umami Bowl was super delicious, everything was just right! The Aladdin Bowl, however, was truly disappointing in comparison. The individual components felt like they were all pickled in vinegar/dressed with vinegar, so it just wasn't balanced at all and, to be honest, was more of an insult to the meal. It wasn't clear from the bowl description that, for example, the peppers and eggplant weren't fresh or cooked/sautéed, but pickled. It also came with vinegar-dressed bulgur and chickpeas. If we hadn't also ordered the Umami Bowl, which was a truly delicious bowl, we probably wouldn't come back again.

We are glad with our entire experience.

Unfortunately, we weren't impressed. We had to wait over 30 minutes for the food, even though only two other tables were occupied. As soon as the food arrived, an unpleasant number of fruit flies appeared, which we couldn't get rid of. Unfortunately, one dish arrived completely different from what was described on the menu, and it didn't taste good. We had to leave the food and go to another restaurant.

The food was generally okay, but I find the pricing very unfair and non-transparent. The menu clearly stated (framed) that salmon, for example, costs an extra €2.50. That's exactly what I ordered with my bowl – but I ended up being charged €5. When I asked, I was told that the €2.50 price only applied to wraps, not bowls. This wasn't made clear at all on the menu. To me, it seems like a deliberate attempt to deceive. Given the already high base prices, this is simply outrageous. I certainly won't be eating here again.

A lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. The self-service (ordering and paying at the counter, having to bring your own cutlery, etc.) doesn't really give you a sense of service, which you have to appreciate. The food and drinks were decent. I just found some of the prices a bit too high. Of course, inflation is a problem, and I'm happy to pay more. But charging an extra €4 for a truly tiny portion of fries as a small side dish to a meal that was already expensive was a real annoyance.

After we were informed that we had to order our food at the cash register, it was served and everything was delicious.

Very nicely designed restaurant. The self-service didn't bother us. We were greeted and farewelled very warmly. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy either bowl. The waffle was very good, though. Perhaps we chose the wrong dishes. If we're ever in Landau again, we might come back and try other dishes. The burritos at the next table, for example, looked very good ☺️

Uncomplicated, healthy, and delicious - Joul's My first encounter was with the Buddy 1 food truck at the Meßmer winery. Simply a gifted and imaginative take on bread. Wow! The second encounter was outside on the alleyway in the romantic old town atmosphere of Landau. Whether inside or outside: the atmosphere is open, smart, and designed to make you want to linger. Here, at Joul's, Oliver Weisch and Lukas Ksiazek tweak all your taste buds and enrich your experience immensely. Joul's bread creations are exceptional and delightful. They include avocado cream, mango, pomegranate, cherry tomatoes, and smoked salmon, or lukewarm goat cheese, plum, celery hummus, and beetroot. These flavor combinations are both disconcerting and compelling. But the variety of bowls and burgers also entices you into the creative culinary world of Joul's. The products: fresh, authentic, and incredibly aromatic. At Joul's, nothing is random; it's a deliberate strategy: Guests aren't allowed to be kings here, but simply human beings and just lounge around. It's that simple at Joul's.

Very nice ambiance, delicious smoothies, play areas for children, and a beautiful courtyard. Every ingredient has its own twist (roasted, pickled, braised). We stumbled upon this place by chance and were very impressed. Thank you!

I ordered a savory and a sweet bowl online - the food was ready on time and the staff on site were all friendly. Both tasted really great! One small point of criticism: The website lacks precise descriptions of the contents of the bowls. You have to guess what's inside based on pictures and names. Nevertheless: Very tasty and absolutely recommended!

Very tasty and very cozy! It was my first time here and I immediately felt at home. You can sit comfortably inside or outside. There are baby high chairs and the decor is chic and inviting. The staff was friendly. The food was super delicious! The salad was plentiful and really good. Rarely have I eaten such a good salad outside. Sure, I wouldn't eat a salad with chicken for just under 18 euros every day. But every now and then, I would treat myself! I can only recommend the store ♥️

Quite good but not that cheap either

We were here for dinner and found the staff to be remarkably friendly, flexible and courteous. The food was really tasty (we had the Asia's Style and Umami bowls). You can choose between a large and a small portion. For dessert there was a delicious waffle, and because it only came to the table lukewarm, we were spontaneously given another waffle to take home. The atmosphere and the process are original and pleasant. And the interior is pretty. We had a very nice evening :)

The concept captures the zeitgeist 🤩. The classic service is relaxed a bit by actively involving the guest. Nevertheless, the visitor receives wonderful attention. In relation to the courts, for example, it means good advice and flexibility in composition. The ingredients are fresh and of selected origin, which is very important to us No matter whether you prefer vegan, vegetarian, fish or meat - there is something for every taste. The dishes on the menu are creative :) Thank you for a lovely dining experience; because food is not just food consumption... it is culture! We would love to come back 🤩

Wir kommen sehr gerne hier her! Lockere Atmosphäre, supernettes Personal und sehr leckere Bowls und andere Gerichte. Die Gerichte sind kreativ und super abgestimmt! Man bestellt an der Theke und bekommt das Essen an den Tisch gebracht. Auch die Getränkeauswahl ist sehr groß, schöne Weinauswahl. Wir kennen Jouls Food auch als Foodtruck und finden das einfach genial; einfach mal was anderes!

Interesting, but not for everyone!

I had dinner there yesterday with a good friend and I have to say the ambience and food were simply great.😌 I had the aisa style burger 🍔 and I have to say 100 percent it made me travel to Asia in terms of taste and the potatoes with paprika dip + rosemary were also great.👍🏻 I can recommend everyone to stop by there!

We came here a second time, we enjoyed it so much the first. The place has a charming aesthetic and relaxing ambiance. The toddler friendly play area allowed us to have a more enjoyable meal experience. The cuisine is a bit of German/Asian fusion. Deliciously flavorful. I had a bowl and my husband had the burger. Counter ordering them food/drinks are.delivered to the table. Great experience overall.

Super Bowls, freshly prepared and good portions. Ambience also great!

Apart from the superfluous idiot apostrophe in the name (just google the term), Joul's Food offers a modern restaurant with an indoor and outdoor seating area. Since the outdoor area is mostly dominated by smokers, we decided to go indoors. We found the self-service to be pleasant. Particularly positive: The lady at the counter was fresh, dynamic and extremely friendly - you could feel that she enjoyed her job, which she radiated accordingly. The food was freshly prepared and tasted first class. The prices are quite confident: the large umami bowl for 13 EUR is recommended, as the small one for 8 EUR is not enough for a normal adult. A 0.3 smoothie costs 6 EUR. The men's toilet decoration is interesting, and particularly impressive: various care products such as hand creams are available in the washroom - a nice detail. We would definitely like to come back!

We chose meat-free dishes here, the “Buritto Bowl” and “The Goat”. The food was prepared in no time and looked really great. All ingredients seemed and tasted fresh. However, we lacked the "zing" in both dishes, here we could have brought a little more flavor into play, everything was very bland. All in all, we ate well and the dogs were immediately given something to drink.

I ordered both burgers from the menu to try. But it was one of the worst burgers I've ever eaten. The bun was half dry and I don't think it was even warmed up. Some of the meat was so hard that I couldn't eat it. In addition, the ingredients were simply slapped on top. Nothing neatly distributed with love. So sorry, for the price I really want to eat a decent burger. Unfortunately I didn't get it.

Cozy restaurant, unfortunately there was a dead fly on the edge on the wooden board on which the food was served, and leftover bean sprouts in the dessert. When we mentioned it, we got a succinct answer: "It could happen, we're sorry," we were speechless.

We ate at Joul's for the first time today. I was really excited because we read all the great reviews in advance. I ordered the burrito bowl, which I would have liked to have had a more intense taste experience with great spices and perhaps a certain spiciness. This was more of a “sin” chili sin carne. ;-) The ingredients for both dishes were fresh and the bowls were beautifully presented. However, you can still play around with spices more here. Maybe it would also help if small spice stations were placed around the tables. The service was very nice and the location was also clean and very attractive.

Very tasty bowls, friendly staff. You have to order at the counter and what you order is brought to the table. If there is a lot going on, this can take a while, so 1 point is deducted. You can sit outside on Meerweibchenstraße or inside at tables or small seating areas with armchairs. Then there are also seats in the historic inner courtyard behind the house. A culinary and beautiful enrichment for Landau.

Sehr leckere Bowl gegessen. Frisch und liebevoll zubereitet. Das Brot dazu war aber das beste. Nachtisch mega. Auch die selbstgemachte Limo schmeckt super. Kommen auf jedenfall wieder, wenn wir in der Umgebung sind.

Sehr nettes Personal sowie sehr leckeres Essen. Wir fanden es toll dass es durchgehend offen hat. Es war ein schöner Abend den wir bestimmt wiederholen werden 😍

Das haben wir zufällig auf der Durchreise entdeckt und es war toll! Etwas anderes Konzept aber super lecker...... Klare Empfehlung!
