A well-run inn for centuries, offering excellent quality cuisine and service. Always a pleasure.

We stayed two nights at the brewery inn. The rooms are very clean and a good size, and it's very quiet. The restaurant is also highly recommended; the service and the food are excellent, especially the lady in the restaurant with the black glasses—always smiling and friendly. Breakfast was also very good, with a wide selection of cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, jams, cornflakes, and yogurts. We did notice, however, that the cheese wedges and Actimel were past their expiration date, which shouldn't happen in a hotel. The location is a bit outside the city center, but it's easily accessible by bus and tram. Despite this, we had two very enjoyable nights at the Fuchs Brewery Inn and will definitely come back.

Update: Everything was great today. The food was superb, and the service was excellent. So, of course, there are more stars now ✨. Two servers for a packed restaurant is clearly insufficient. The food was good, and they accommodated our special requests. The food arrived fairly quickly, but we waited ages for our drinks. Two coffees took over 15 minutes, and three other drinks weren't brought at all, even though there were hardly any other guests left. When we asked about it, we were met with a rather unfriendly response. Card payments are accepted, but it seemed like cash was less work. My conclusion is that the service could have been much friendlier; it dampened my otherwise good mood somewhat.

The food is good and the prices are fair, but €6.90 for 0.7 liters of water is outrageous. Long waiting times, whether for orders, food, or the bill.

A restaurant I frequent, always served quickly, attentive staff, a charming pub, large beer garden (covered in summer). Excellent location, though parking is limited. I didn't stay overnight, but friends found it very pleasant, especially the breakfast. Thank you, I'll gladly return.

A wonderful, traditional Bavarian hotel. Our room was huge, incredibly cozy, and spotlessly clean. Everything has a rustic charm, which we really appreciated. Every single staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even our dog was a welcome guest and received a warm reception. Our daughter also received a lovely welcome. We highly recommend the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the staff were cheerful and fun to be around, even though it was very busy. The food was also prepared very fresh, so it's understandable that it didn't arrive at the table in five minutes. It was a fantastic stay that we won't soon forget. We'd love to come back again.

A place with a medieval and traditional appearance, with a well-prepared kitchen with highly qualified staff, cuisine of several nationalities, I personally was treated by an Indian master chef, the interior is rustic with lots of wood and brick, the person who served the table wore an authentic traditional Bavarian costume.

Update on January 19th: The inn has since contacted us, offered a sincere apology, and included a voucher for our senior member. This is what customer service should look like – mistakes happen, but they can take responsibility for them. We're happy to give the restaurant another chance. ______________________ We've always enjoyed dining at the Gasthof Fuchs – however, our last visit was on December 25th. The food and service were good again that day. However, over the holidays, the owner operates a two-shift system at lunchtime when the restaurant is full. This would be acceptable if the kitchen could keep up. We had a reservation for 11:15 am. Unfortunately, due to two babies, we didn't arrive until 11:30 am, and were therefore probably among the last guests of the shift to order. Of the seven dishes we ordered, four had been pre-ordered, which is why we found the final wait of one hour (until 12:35 pm) unacceptable. From 12:45 pm onwards, waiting guests from the next shift were also standing next to our table. They themselves were 30 minutes early and were asked by staff to wait there. From 12:50 pm onwards, we – especially our 95-year-old family member – were pressured to vacate the table while we were still eating our main course. This happened 20 minutes after the food had been served; a peaceful Christmas dinner for elderly guests looks quite different. We sent a message to the owners that same day, but have yet to receive a reply. It's a disgrace when a family business, driven by profit maximization, forgets its customers and a truly excellent team (kitchen and service) is hampered by such poor organization!

The food is very tasty and everything is fresh. The salad dressing takes some getting used to; we didn't like it, and there were 13 of us. It was a bit pricey, but still reasonable.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The food was also great, although the portions were a bit too large for me, but they offered children's portions for certain dishes. Excellent value for money. The rooms were also very clean and all unique, with the exposed timber framing in some rooms being beautifully incorporated.

Dinner on December 26, 2025. 10 people. Everything was perfect. Delicious food, excellent service. Would gladly come again.

You absolutely must order a dish with the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) or just the Käsespätzle on their own. In my opinion, they're the best Käsespätzle in Augsburg and the surrounding area. And the nougat-marzipan lasagna is simply amazing. Absolutely delicious.

I can only review the restaurant, not the hotel. The food is very good. The quality and value for money are excellent. The service is friendly, and even when the restaurant is full, there are no long waits. The atmosphere is very pleasant.

A place to feel good, positively out of time

We've been regular guests there for years. There's no other choice for us because everything is simply excellent. The room, breakfast, service, and friendliness are second to none. Our highest recommendation

A quaint, listed building/hotel. The restaurant, including the food and the always attentive service, is packed, and I'm so glad you did! The beer garden is also open every summer; it's truly a top spot in the heart of Steppach. Unfortunately, the only downside is that there's hardly any parking.

I ate a roast beef with onions here and ordered it medium. I said I'd like it medium to rare, rather than overdone. They told me they make 40 roast beefs here a day and know how to cook them medium. It was slightly pink inside, so light that it was just barely possible to return it, but not as I had ordered. Unfortunately, it was also completely dry. My wife's meal was very good.

The inn was great, but I didn't use the hotel. Parking is a problem; there are hardly any spaces available. Food and service are top-notch!

A cozy inn furnished with great attention to detail. The rooms are clean and available in a variety of sizes. The staff is friendly and attentive. I didn't miss anything during my three-week stay.

Beautiful inn with a shady beer garden. The food was homely, and the staff was attentive and friendly. I wouldn't stay overnight here due to the noise in the beer garden, which lasted until after 11 p.m. Furthermore, there were no curtains on the windows in our top-floor room to darken the room. So, unfortunately, we lay awake until the last guests had (finally) left the beer garden and the lights went out. If you have hotel guests, you should close the beer garden by 11 p.m. at the latest.

Since it wasn't our first time here, we noticed that the beer garden can be a bit chaotic when the weather is nice. However, our waitress was quick and seemed to enjoy fulfilling all our requests. Anyone who has Marie as their server can consider themselves lucky. We always reserved a table in the evening where Marie would serve. Any restaurateur would be lucky to have such a server on their team.

Ok, the Bismarck Tower and Maria Loretto House are nearby and can be easily reached on foot.

Brief summary of an overnight stay Found online. Looked on Google and estimated it to be rural and quiet. Booked with secure parking for a motorcycle. Upon arrival, however, no one wanted to hear anything about it. Shower and then to the beer garden. Waiting times were quite long, staff somewhat unmotivated. Food in the beer garden, not recommended; lots of annoying black flies that were almost impossible to shoo away. I only had one beer, as the staff was clearly overwhelmed by the number of guests. At 6 a.m., I was woken up by loud traffic noise. Construction traffic on a continuous line. Across the street was a large construction site with corresponding noise. Trucks and cement mixers passed by the room every minute on the street side. Breakfast? Well, if you like breakfast around noisy children, no problem. I didn't know three children could make so much noise. I guess 1-2+3 years old. (Organ pipes) The family (father, mother, and children) used the entire buffet several times, apparently to fortify themselves for the day. Found a seat at one of the nine tables. The tablecloth was stained, the coffee pot was half empty; someone had probably helped themselves to it earlier, in the absence of the staff. I have a different idea of a good brewery inn. I've visited many, including in Bavaria. The beer garden, by the way, is surrounded by high-rise buildings. But you don't have to pay attention to them. I'll probably never visit this place again. It's a shame, really, because I like Bavarian flair.

Really cozy place. I've been a regular there for 30 years, but the value for money has recently disappointed me tremendously. It's simply become far too expensive for what it offers. I'll try to get more for my money elsewhere in the future.

The food was incredibly delicious and the price is highly recommended. In some restaurants, you get the feeling you're being ripped off, but that's definitely not the case here. Small Mango, the wait was quite long. Definitely recommend it 👍😋👍

A superb hotel with an authentic atmosphere, a top-notch restaurant, and dog-friendly. The only downside is the parking situation, but if you walk a couple of minutes, you can find a parking space on the side of the road.

I only drank one beer, but I really enjoyed everything. Two negative points: 1. The bar staff/bartenders shouldn't touch the clean glasses, and wiping beer is outdated. 2. Parking is difficult.

Excellent hotel, authentic, clean, everything is comfortable. The interior is interesting, with nice details. The restaurant is beyond praise. We didn't make it in time for dinner, but the charming, very friendly waitress offered us a delicious, fresh dish that the chefs were able to prepare in the last minutes before the kitchen closed! The guys are just great! This place remains in our hearts forever! The beer is aromatic and drinks very easily and in large quantities. Breakfast is also wonderful. A full selection of the freshest products, beautiful serving and attentive staff. I recommend it and we will definitely be back!

I stayed at the hotel for one night from Saturday to Sunday, and I have to say everything was great. The room had everything I needed, and it was very clean. On Saturday evening, we went to the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed a relaxing evening. The food (onion roast beef) was amazing, and the service was super friendly and quick. On Sunday morning, you could find everything you needed at the breakfast buffet. A great stay. If I ever need an overnight stay in Augsburg again, I know where to go.

I was eating in the inn and I have to say it was the finest meal. Great praise for the kitchen - I have rarely eaten as well as I did here. The service was also super nice and friendly. If I'm back in Augsburg I'll be happy to come back.

I was able to visit the hotel (one night) and the inn (breakfast and dinner) as part of a Christmas party. The staff was very friendly and professional. All of the dishes that were ordered at our party (à la carte) were rated as very good. The service in the inn was also very good and quick. The breakfast buffet is rich and high quality. My single room was very clean and comfortable. Overall, I had a consistently positive impression and a pleasant stay.

For the second year in a row, we spent a wonderful time in this warm-hearted house, idyllically located and surrounded by attractions. A walk to the nearby Bismarck Tower is worth it, the view is beautiful. After a warm welcome, we entered our lovingly furnished, very clean room.👍👍 Two bowls and welcome treats were provided for our little dog ❤️😃 The rich breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired 🤗 The public transport connections are absolutely great, the stop is about 3 minutes away. Sights in nearby Augsburg include the Augsburger Puppenkiste and the historic Fuggerei. For music lovers: The Spectrum is less than 2 km away with bus stops in front of the location, just google it, there are great concerts taking place there 👍👍 For vinyl lovers, the Vinyl Cafe in Göggingen is an absolute must (bring plenty of time, it's worth it) Of course there are many more interesting things to do see, everything can be easily reached by public transport. Shops, hairdressers, etc. are all within walking distance in the surrounding area. The beautiful dining room invites you to linger. The food is a culinary delight, incredibly tasty, fresh and beautifully prepared. Also worth mentioning is the very friendly staff, lovely people 🤗🤗👍👍 We are already looking forward to our next visit with you and would like to thank you very much for this unforgettable time ❤️❤️ We rate value for money/restaurant with 10 points

Cozy hotel with delicious, regional food and home-brewed beer.

On the occasion of my son's wedding, which was celebrated at the "Fuchs", we also spent a few days in the inn's hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bathroom is a bit old. In the morning a really rich breakfast buffet awaited us. The inn's food is home-style, large portions and tastes excellent. Very, very nice, friendly and attentive staff, both in the hotel, at the reception and in the inn. I would particularly like to highlight the Greek waiter “Sotos”, who contributed a lot to the success of both the “normal” evenings in the inn and the excellently planned wedding celebration with his rustic humor, his warmth and his attentiveness has gained a large fan base for all of us! We'll definitely be back!

Service in the hotel and restaurant was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and there was a lot more space than in newly built hotel chains.

In itself a very nice hotel, delicious beer. It was just too loud and too stressful in the dining room for me; the waiters felt like they were working in an assembly line way, which didn't make it particularly relaxing. The boss came in again in the evening, more of an investor who had to watch the employees while they ate. A little louder in the morning from 6am onwards as the breakfast room had to be prepared. It's OK, I would have expected a little more comfort.

The Fuchs is probably one of the most famous brewery inns in Augsburg! Food very tasty - great friendly service. Always recommended! The only thing I personally don't like so much is the "mass processing"... Well, the inn is very big, a lot of staff, and also a lot of hungry guests... but actually the food comes a little too quickly... a mouthful of special - and the food is on the table! Sure, the tables are reserved several times a day due to the rush... but a few more minutes until the food is on the table might be worth considering... But the Fuchs is still 100% recommended... Portions to fill you up - and very, very tasty!

Yesterday we had lunch with our family at the Gasthof Fuchs. We were served very friendly and didn't have to wait long. Regarding the drinks: the Sprite was almost non-carbonated. When we asked, the waitress told us that the lemonade came from a barrel. Therefore little to no carbonation. As a courtesy we were then given 2 bottles of fresh lemonade. To eat: with 3 crusty roasts with dumplings, the crust was soft and fluffy. A large piece of meat with a lot of fat. The food came quickly. We were not satisfied because we expected a crispy crust from a roast and not a wobbly crust soaked in sauce. There are only 2 vegetarian dishes on the menu. The dessert was very tasty and beautifully presented. Every dessert on the menu is paired with ice cream. Conclusion: large portions, especially with a lot of meat and few vegetables, quality could be significantly better. Dessert very good!

We were eating with friends at the Gasthof Fuchs. Since I'm a Schäufele fan, I was thrilled to find it on the daily menu. For my wife and I, the result was disappointing yet flattered. The meat side was dry and spindly. There was supposed to be a crispy crust on the other side, but there was Bubblegum-like rind with meat inspection stamp. The worst Schäufele I've ever eaten, but maybe it was the chef's first time! The service was very good and friendly, but there will be no next time!

Hotel is very good, nice rich breakfast buffet. The restaurant is also great, the food is very good, the service is great, very friendly and accommodating, and any special requests are responded to in a friendly manner. We really enjoyed the two days we spent here. I can recommend it without hesitation.

If you want to experience a good and cozy hotel, this is the right place for you. Great rooms and the service staff are always nice. The beer garden in the house is just as great with large chestnut trees, just great. We'll be back

I'm sorry, but my room smelled like sweat. I wonder if the bed linen was changed at all. Bathroom is very old. I wouldn't stay here again However, the food in the restaurant was very good

Review purely about the economy: We were there in a larger group (28 people). In advance, we were informed that service staff were missing that day. Food and Drink: The food was really very good (Cordon Bleu filled with Obazda), definitely not store-bought Cordon Bleu, but freshly breaded and prepared. The beer at Fuchs is also really delicious. Other food was also well prepared and looked very good, it seemed to have tasted good. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with this point. Service: As already described, there was probably a lack of service staff. I actually expected some things to take a little longer, but there weren't any major delays in orders. What made me a little suspicious was the way we were served. The lady (probably the landlady?) had partly simply fobbed us off one by one and partly caused a bit of stress on the guests or was able to save herself a comment or two. I completely understand if you are stressed and over the course of the evening you noticed how important it was to her that everyone was happy, but I don't think you should put your own stress on your guests. As the process progressed, she seemed a little more relaxed and also made jokes, although the service left a bad aftertaste due to the stress described. You just don't feel comfortable when you or your colleagues get a stupid comment. Conclusion: All in all, I would visit the inn again because the food was really great, the beer tasted very good and the lady might just have had a bad day.

For a long time now: food is excellent! Service/operation quick and friendly Waiting time for the food: incredibly fast despite the packed beer garden. A few years ago we felt the food had declined. But now everything is back to normal. The beer garden is beautiful and huge. Nice playground with a few goats. We are very happy to have this inn near us and hope that everything stays as it is.
