The restaurant, the ambiance, and the staff were very friendly and well-trained. The appetizers were very good, but I'm not used to dátiles con bacon being served with sauce, as I live in Spain and they aren't served with sauce there. The paella campera was unfortunately overloaded with Maggi seasoning, which gave me an upset stomach. Maggi isn't used in Spain. I think it's a real shame that such an ingredient ruins the flavor. The crema catalana wasn't like the original crema catalana; it was unfortunately tasteless, but that could also be due to the excess Maggi in the paella. The mango ice cream, on the other hand, was very delicious. The service was truly excellent.

Fantastic Spanish restaurant! The atmosphere is great; even when the restaurant was full, it was easy to have a conversation. The food is outstanding! From small sharing plates to paella – everything is highly recommended. The wonderful aromas waft through the door, making you want to eat right away. Highly recommended!

The food was all excellent, and the waiter who served us was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. At the end of the meal, we were offered a traditional Spanish liqueur. My only recommendation is that when a customer orders a glass of wine (in my case, it's around €16), it would be nice to leave the glass on the table and pour the wine directly for the customer, showing the label on the bottle, rather than bringing it already filled from the bar. It's just a nice touch that all customers (including me) appreciate. Otherwise, everything was positive; I'll definitely be back!

An absolutely top-notch restaurant, a rarity these days in Germany. Although I've never been a particular fan of paella, I have to say that I've rarely eaten anything as good in a restaurant as the black seafood paella here. I can't remember ever having had a comparatively good paella in Spain either. Prices are, of course, rather high. Reservations are highly recommended. The only drawback is the difficult parking situation, which isn't the restaurant's fault. Therefore, allow a little extra time when arriving in case a bit of a walk is necessary.

Truly delicious food! The staff is incredibly friendly, you receive a warm welcome, and you don't have to wait long for the appetizer. Right from the start, you're presented with a small bowl of pickled olives and cucumbers. The meal itself was also very tasty. Highly recommended, and the atmosphere is very calm and pleasant.

Although there are some things that aren't 100% Spanish, the truth is that the food is very good. The prices aren't cheap, but then again, Germany isn't cheap. However, the friendliness of the staff is noticeable, compared to the Germans. Joel, you're a great guy. I hope you enjoy some of your trips to Spain. Remember northern Spain and, of course, Madrid.

We went there based on a recommendation. The value for money isn't really there. We tried a variety of tapas and dishes – they tasted okay, but not outstanding. The individual dishes also arrived far too late. We're not used to that. Additionally, the outdoor seating area is right on the street, so it's not particularly quiet, and the view isn't particularly special either. We wouldn't go back here again.

Five years ago, I first went to José & Josefina, and it was an absolute dream! Last night, after all these years, I went back with a good friend. There's no time limit for sitting outside, but they only offer two-hour slots inside. The staff was, as always, very friendly and accommodating. The tapas turned out huge. Pimientos al Padrón were delicious... But the patatas bravas tasted like they were meditating; there was no hint of bravas. I ordered pork chop with sobreasada and spinach. Sobreasada and meat is quite an unusual combination, so I was curious. It was... special. The spinach was very salty, so much so that I unfortunately couldn't finish it. When I asked what kind of wine would go best with my order, all I was asked was, "What color?" O_O We ordered rosé wine, but unfortunately, we weren't informed about its origin or its name. Five years ago, it was standard practice there to recommend a wine with every meal order, but unfortunately, it was different this time. In summary: lovely ambiance, very good service, food... Oh well. It's a real shame! Perhaps I'll come back another day and reconcile myself with the food.

We're regulars at the restaurant, have known the Blanco family for many years, and it's an impressive experience to eat at Jose y Josefina. The food is very tasty, and there are also plenty of tapas/sharing dishes. The paella is also delicious! The service could be improved a bit – we were rudely asked to leave if we only ordered water and no more food, as our table was being used for the next guests. It's not a problem, but they could have told us differently.

Not suitable for vegetarians. A small selection of vegetarian dishes, with which you're not even allowed to order a side dish. This is reserved only for guests who order meat or fish dishes. My experience in Spain was different. What arrived was a carelessly arranged pile of dry, flavorless eggplant. We only received a sauce upon request, which was then charged extra. When clearing away my three-quarters of leftover eggplant, they didn't even ask if I enjoyed it. The staff makes an effort to be friendly to guests who order a little more, such as meat/fish/wine. The starters were good, but you can get them just as delicious and cheaper at the Spanish restaurant around the corner. I don't know why there's so much hype about this. The decor is very tasteful, and strangely, there were also books on vegan and vegetarian cuisine behind me. The chef should have read them instead of putting them on the shelf. Conclusion: A disappointing restaurant visit; I was glad to have great company with me.

Leider konnten wir nicht im Restaurant nicht mal reservieren. Online konnte die Reservierung nicht abgeschlossen werden (6 Versuche), die Alternative der Anruf von Mo-Fr zwischen 10 und 16 Uhr geht ausschließlich der Anrufbeantworter ran und würgt einen ab mit dem Hinweis dass man außerhalb der Geschäftszeiten anruft. Die Anrufe erfolgten an einem Donnerstag mehrfach nach 10.30 und 11 Uhr. Bei einem Anruf im Lokal zur Öffnungszeit werde ich darauf verwiesen dass ich nur über die beiden Möglichkeiten (Online oder telefonisch bis 16 Uhr) reservieren kann und meine Reservierung so nicht angenommen werden kann. Zudem wurde ich vertröstet, dass ich bei guten Wetter mit Glück einen Tisch draußen bekommen könnte. In Summe ist es wirklich super enttäuschend. Ich war zwar schon öfter dort zum Essen, aber der Versuch war somit der Letzte.

Ambience: Very cozy and inviting. Subtle, warm lighting with tasteful pictures. Beautiful dishes and cutlery. Music in the background, but loud enough not to be disturbing. Service: Very attentive, friendly, and competent. However, the condition should not be so present. So, don't stand directly at the table. That should be avoided. It doesn't look professional. Food: Freshly prepared and presented in an original way. Well-seasoned, but a little lacking in the courage to add more seasoning. Some dishes seemed rather bland. There's still plenty of room for improvement. Price/performance: In my opinion, the prices are too high, especially for the main courses. The portions are too small. Conclusion: The restaurant is worth a visit, if only for the ambiance and service. Whether you dare to return is up to you.

We wanted to spend a special evening there. It was the day of our marriage. The wish to get a comfortable table in a corner was simply ignored. While clearing away the waiter dropped my full champagne glass. It shattered into a thousand shards and all the champagne spilled all over my wedding dress, hair and face. I got a new champagne, the shards were removed, that was all. I sat on the wet chair in the wet dress. The waiter wasn't interested. My husband had to find another chair and some napkins. We were also left with the cleaning costs for the dress. That was our last visit.

The tapas were good, the calamari very good. But at sporty prices. Unfortunately the fish paella was a total failure. Hardly any taste. Consistency more like risotto. Lots of rice, little fish. And the seafood was already trending towards frozen goods. Too bad.

A mega Spaniard, we were a bit skeptical at first due to the higher prices and the few bad reviews. We still treated ourselves to the visit last evening. From taking off my jacket and accompanying me to the table to just asking if everything was okay, it was just nice all around. The food was amazing and tasted great. The two of us paid €120, with tapas and two drinks each. Something special for us but absolutely worth the money!

Wir waren begeistert vom Geschmack: der rote Tunfisch ist etwas ganz Besonderes, auch das Roastbeef ist zu empfehlen. Der ganze Abend war rundum gelungen: sehr gutes Essen mit gutem Wein - wir kommen gerne wieder!!

Unfortunately I can't give a review regarding the food. But what I can do is give an assessment of today's phone call. I have to say, even in the rancidest restaurants, I've never been spammed at like this waitress, it's a shame I don't know her name. I called the restaurant to ask if there was a table available for today. The waitress on the phone immediately said “No.” When I asked again if there really wasn’t a table available, I was shouted at in an unfriendly tone: “Hello, today is Valentine’s Day, what do you think?” Of course, I understand that there is a lot going on on Valentine's Day, but a friendly tone should still be a given. When I pointed out that that's not the way to talk to guests, she simply hung up on me. That's not how you treat people. For me, this restaurant is a done deal. If you treat your potential guests this way, you shouldn't be surprised about bad reviews.
