Iroha Japanese Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

Great authentic Japanese restaurant, which is very busy at lunchtime. Luckily we got a table for two without an appointment. The service is very friendly and sweet, as it looks like a family business where all generations pitch in. I ordered Kaizen Don, which tasted really great. The fish was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately there is no espresso here, but that wasn't a bad thing, just good to know. Card payment is possible here without any problems. Overall, great restaurant and highly recommended.

Great Japanese food and good value for money spend.

Went to your place on October 19th, but the menu is only made for people who are familiar with your Japanese terms. The German also wants to know exactly what he is ordering, what is missing is a detailed description with a photo and numbered. Since your restaurant is also located in Germany and not in Japan. Ordering by numbers is easier to operate than ordering by description. Even if the good woman has forgotten half of it! But what was served, soup for my wife and sushi for me was very good!!! The only tip left after this action was €10, which would have been normal for me.

Wonderfully authentic dishes, fresh white tuna is available in small quantities as sushi and sashimi, very friendly service with apparently members of the family, unfortunately long waiting times.

Slightly above average price for restaurants in the area but incredibly delicious japanese food! highly recommend for larger groups with a bit of spending money :)

A long-awaited weekday lunch. Ordered the nigiri from the lunch menu. There was tea service, and the sushi and udon were all delicious. I will go again. Recommended.

Wir waren hier zum Lunch und waren schlicht und ergreifend entsetzt! Das Iroha war sehr gut besucht, die Bedienungen jedoch heillos überfordert. Erst dauerte es eine gefühlte Ewigkeit bis das Essen kam, dann servierte man Udon- statt Misosuppe. Der Gipfel ist jedoch die Qualität und Optik des Sashimis, bzw. Sushis: Die Rückkehr der Garnele des Grauens und des trockenen Fisches standen auf dem Programm, die Fotos sprechen für sich! Unfassbar, dass so ein Laden im Jahre 2024 noch existiert, bzw. keinen Behörenbesuch bekommen hat. Machen Sie einen weiten Bogen um dieses Etablissement!

Simple, authentic restaurant right next to the Frankfurter Hof. Food selection okay, prices definitely good for Frankfurt! The food was very tasty, especially the udon soup. The service was very nice, but forgot us twice and overall it took a very long time. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and it was packed. Nevertheless, a clear recommendation for authentic Japanese cuisine.

Last week some Japanese restaurants in Offenbach were closed due to Obon / Jap Matsuri, so after a long time I tried Iroha. I know the Steigenberger Zeit restaurant, atmosphere or service are few issues for me, I just wanted good, tasty food. But …. I ordered Keisendon, sashimi slices on rice. Sashimi were obviously not fresh, after a short time I noticed that my stomach was spoiled. I had spent the rest of the afternoon in the toilet. So I'll never come here again.

Good place, with reasonable and tasty lunch menu. Service was a little German at times and the place was boiling hot inside due to poor AC, but I'd go again happily.

Very slow condition (we waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for our food). Delicious udon soup with tempura and delicious sushi 🍣 I forgot my scarf there. The employee confirmed to me by phone that she had my scarf. When I picked it up, no one knew where my scarf was. The restaurant owner is very dubious! Never again !!!

I chose Nr.3. It was okay but not high quality. Considering the price in Germany, the quality matched the price. I paid just 20€

I went there for the first time in several years. I loved being able to enjoy such high quality Japanese food. Beef bowl and nigiri sushi bars to be eaten in Japan. I want to go again. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't delicious enough to make me crazy. Haha, I definitely have to eat soup and rice today. It's worth a visit if you're nearby on a day you want to visit. I ordered rice bowl and sushi + udon set meal, but the rice bowl was a bit large. I had it as a lunch menu, and drinks were added separately to the meal for 18 euros per person.

Visited while on business travel. Inside is very simple, but the food and service was fantastic. We enjoyed many courses over the three hours we were there. Would definitely recommend!

Very authentic Japanese restaurant. Katsu-don and soup excellent. Sushi looked good! Moderately priced. The older women who do the service are also authentic :-) Clear recommendation.

I have been here many times. Its not the best Japanese Restaurant in Frankfurt but its still quite good. Recommend: Beef topped Rice, Sushi is quite good Didn't like the Japanese Curry and a fish dish wasn't as fresh.The Udon during Lunch is quite Basic, would not recommend.

Too slow. We stay here for 1 hour and we wait here for 40 minutes. Just for paying, we wait for 20 minutes….

In a sense, it may be a hidden place. Despite its location right next to the U-Bahn station, it's not crowded, which may be because the exterior doesn't look very flashy, so it's hard to tell if it's open or not. The food is consistent Japanese food, and Japanese people can eat as much as they want.

Our go to Saturday brunch place ❤️ ever since moving back to Frankfurt. Good reasonable price for authentic Japanese food and the staff are very friendly but in the summer months it can be extremely busy so be patience if your food doesn’t come immediately it’s being well prepared for you.

Quick stop for dinner after first night arriving in frankfurt. Food quality and taste was great. Everything freshly prepared and presented exquisitely. Relaxing atmosphere and all crockery were clean. Staff were polite and friendly. The only downfall was very slow service. Restaurant was not fully packed, but took a while to take our order, and each item arrived separately, around 10 mins apart.

I’m happy to be able to eat Japanese food which is same to real thing in overseas. Totally different with other fake Japanese restaurants. Taste was very good.

Lunchtime: I think you should always take the perspective that was crucial at the moment of the visit. I've had several lunches so far. Sometimes alone, sometimes with colleagues or friends. I didn't have any experience in the evening. Reservations work excellently. Although the restaurant is regularly quite full at lunchtime, individual guests are somehow "squeezed" into the bar. It doesn't matter. There is enough space. The service is always very nice, good and quite fast for the lunch break situation. The food is quite solid and reasonably priced. For city center conditions, you can expect to spend a very moderate 15 to 18 euros. This includes lunch (menu with soup miso or udon, some salad and main course) and free tea. No additional drinks. The time from entering the restaurant to payment is approx. 30 minutes. I don't want to hide a nice encounter. I ordered "pork tenderloin Japanese style". But that was upper shell. When asked about this, the older Japanese cook came out of the kitchen, apologized and said the fillet was out and she hoped no one would notice. Clear announcement. I liked the directness and made me smile. Because of the otherwise always good quality, Iroha remains one of my lunch favorites around the Hessischer Hof. The selection is large enough.

Mehrere hundert Euro für zwei Personen bezahlt für ein mehrgängiges Menü, was wir auch gerne bereit sind zu bezahlen, wenn das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt! Es gab viel frittiertes, kein Gericht das uns jetzt wirklich in Erinnerung geblieben ist. Altmodisches Ambiente, das in die Jahre gekommen ist. Fazit: Es war nicht schlecht, aber einfach für das Gebotene viel zu teuerb

The service was very slow even when the restaurant wasn't filled. Seemed like there was only one chef who couldnt keep up with the demand of restaurant half filled. And the waitresses were bit difficult to flag. Sushi was ok but seemd to go overboard with the wasabi. Great location and drink selection though

Yesterday was my second time dining at the restaurant - and I was amazed just as much as I was at the first visit. I had the eggplant (steamed) appetiser, tempura and a sashimi bowl (oh, and green tea icecream with the red beans) - everything was fresh and made with high quality. I think it is a family run restaurant, they are very friendly and sweet - I can only highly recommend if you want to eat authentic Japanese food. They have so many little dishes (not just teriyaki and sushi!).

Good food, the fish is fresh, the rice portions are plump and delicious but the waiting time is quite long. We waited for 10-15 minutes for the sashimi dishes and the person who took the order wrote down our order incorrectly even though when ordering we ordered by the number only, not by reading the name. But she made a mistake like that (she also didn't check back the order), she kept coming in and out to ask if the order was actually incorrect. Even when we read the name of the dish incorrect and it wasn't the same as on the menu, she seemed impatient and kept saying that they didn't have it (like when we ordered katsu curry-katsu kare, we read it as 'kare katsu' but she said no, they don't have it, they only have 'katsu kare' with a cold attitude and she didn't give us the menu back in her hand that we returned earlier so we could double-check the names, she just held it, spoke impatiently and left right away without saying anything). Anyway, the food was okay and the space was also very good 👍🏻

Great quality of food and nice service. We didn’t have to wait long until we got the food we ordered. The sushi set is 35€ but with its quality its worth it. A positive surprise was that we both received a free cup of hot tee after meal, which made just a nice ending. ** Revisit in July 2023. The price became higher compared to earlier time. Sashimi plate for 35 eur seems a bit too pricey. My friend took the seafood don which was charged with a more reasonable price. Generally the food was still nice but maybe there is still somewhere else for Japanese food. One good point is that there is AC in summer.

Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und hat regelmäßig nachgefragt, ob es noch etwas zu trinken sein darf. Auch wurde auf extra Wünsche eingegangen. Wir hatten diverses Sushi und es war wirklich sehr lecker. Es war alles sehr frisch zubereitet.

Went all out tonight… food was high quality and absolutely excellent. The service is spotty, not enough waiters, all of them completely overwhelmed. Partner and I arrived at 7 pm on the dot and it increasingly got busier by the minute, so arrive early

Nice restaurant 😋 I like their katsu dishes (cutlet). Especially the katsu curry 🍛 it's not on the menue but they serve it. During a cold winter it's perfect to warm you up as it is hearthy and satisfying. The portion size is also very good.

豚の角煮もとろろうどんもすごく美味しかったです。ただ、枝豆が出てくるのに30分、うどんが出てくるのに1時間近くかかり、子供連れにはむかないと思いました。

수준급 일식, 나는 도쿄, 오사카, 서울에서도 일식을 많이 먹어봤는데 이정도 퀄리티에 이정도 가격이면 충분히 만족스러움. 카이센동이 보통 비싼데 우동이랑 가격이 비슷하니 그냥 카이센동 드시는걸 추천

Eine schöne Familien Atmosphäre mit kompetenten u freundliche Kellnerin u natürlich auch das Essen war sehr lecker. Also, für uns war es gut👍

Waren dort mit einer Gruppe von 8 zur Mittagszeit und wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und bedient. Wir hatten uns viel zu erzählen und keine Eile, als Alleinreisender hätte mich die Wartzeit auf das Essen evtl. gestört. Getränke kamen schnell. Essen kam in einer Zeitspanne von ca. 15 Minuten, ob alles ok ist wurde nicht gefragt. Daher leider nur 4*. Aber es war alles sehr lecker zu angemessenen Preisen. Würde es jederzeit empfehlen und komme bestimmt wieder.

Its still good but It used to be better. They use to do more lovely little side dishes with the menus. Seems they stopped with that. Pity. Too lazy ? Hope they will do more effort again.

Waren hier zum Mittagessen. Service war sehr freundlich und das Essen war richtig gut! Wir hatten Hähnchen Teryaki als Gericht von der Mittagskarte. Es gab eine Misosuppe als Vorspeise und eine asiatische Bowl mit Reis, Hähnchen, Soße und Sprossen. Dazu noch einen kleinen asiatischen Salat. Mir hat die Anrichtung sehr gefallen und geschmacklich war es sehr gut. Die Lage ist auch schön. Gibt nichts negatives zu berichten und es werden auch alle Kreditkarten inkl. Amex akzeptiert.

Ich war mehrmals nur für Mittagsessen hier. Es war immer anständig und nicht so teuer. Irgendwann mal probiere ich mal die Abendkarte.

出張の火曜日ランチに訪問。フランクフルト中央駅からも歩ける距離の和食レストランでした。豚角煮定食は全く日本の味で美味しゅ うございました。

Die Einrichtung ist etwas lieblos und eng, aber für ein schnelles und gesundes Mittagessen ist das LokaL absolut ok.

Casual restaurant with OUTSTANDINGLY fresh fish! I really don’t know where they buy it but the sashimi (all of it!) was literally melting in the month! Top top top top! Service was attentive and very polite. Restaurant is strongly traditional with original Japanese food. Really recommend!

Das Essen in Iroha war schon immer nur OK, zuletzt aber hat sich die Qualität des Fischs verschlechtert. Das wäre noch akzeptabel, wenn das Service in Ordnung wäre. Während der Mittagszeit war es schon immer sehr hektisch, die Bedienung wusste nicht was zu tun ist, alles sehr unorganisiert. Bisher hatte ich aber immer mein Essen bekommen, auch when manchmal mit deutlicher Verspätung als meine Gesellschaft...heute war es das erste mal, dass mein Essen nach 50 Minuten Warten überhaupt nicht kam. Das war übrigens nur geschnittene Sashimi. Es kam keine Entschuldigung oder Sonstiges. Ich fand das nicht ok. Es hat meine Mittagspause einfach verdorben.

Wir waren zu sechst, haben viel Verschiedenes ausprobiert, alles wirklich hervorragend. Wir waren begeistert. Nicht überfüllt, nicht zu laut. Preis Leistung vollkommen in Ordnung. Wir kommen gerne wieder, vielen Dank.

Qualitativ sehr hochwertiges Essen in, wenn man die vielen Landsleute mit berücksichtigt, japanischer Atmosphäre. Die Mittagsmenus haben ein angemessenes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und schmecken ausgezeichnet. Die Bedienung ist typisch distanziert, jedoch dabei freundlich.
