Der Service war super, sehr freundlich und humorvoll. Das Essen war sehr lecker und egal ob Fleischgerichte oder vegetarische. On Top gab es einfach einen Nachschlag an Essen. Bei einem Besuch kommt man definitiv auf seine Kosten und hat eine gute Zeit.

I was here with a friend and we shared a vegetarian platter. The bowls may seem small, but they are enough. We were both almost shocked at how incredibly delicious the food was. This was by far the best thing I've eaten in a long time. I've had similar food in Brussels before, but it doesn't even come close here. Just wow!! Every time I thought I thought this dish was the best, I was proven wrong because everything was the best. As a drink I can recommend the African Limo, it is super refreshing. Injera has been on my list for a long time and I regret not coming sooner! Thank you for the experience, I will definitely come back.

Somehow not so great! The platters with different dishes are visually appealing, but the taste is absolutely “Germanized”. We were completely missing the spices. Hardly any taste surprises. It seemed a bit like it had been warmed up and refilled. But everything was clean and no total fails. Unfortunately, the wines we tried were really subpar… comparable to €2.99 table wine. So it's better to order Ethiopian beer, it was good. The lemonade (homemade) was also great. Service was friendly but also rather mediocre as we went to the counter several times to order things, for example. water or the bill. And then only cash payment🙄. Value for money, i.e. the quantity (apart from the lack of taste explosions) was ok. Wouldn't go again.

Six of us ate here, the atmosphere is appropriate and the price-performance ratio is fine. Unfortunately we were unlucky with the service. We had to ask three times for the bottle of water, the bread we ordered took a long time to arrive and the bill was incorrect in the end - not in our favor. The first impression often doesn't get a second chance and so it will have been our only visit here.

Injera in downtown Cologne is an absolute highlight for anyone who wants to discover new culinary worlds! The dishes are full of flavors and unique combinations that immediately make you curious. I was particularly impressed by the authentic preparation and the warm atmosphere in the restaurant. Every bite was a small journey of discovery that not only inspired the palate but also the senses. If you are looking for a real taste experience, you should definitely try Injera!

I had planned to celebrate my birthday with a special highlight and wanted to introduce my friends to Eritrean cuisine. So I ordered food for 10 people from Injera four days in advance and agreed to pick up the order on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. We were told to bring enough Tupperware for the different sauces. On Saturday my husband got there on time. A woman who appeared to be the cook opened the door. When my husband explained to her that he wanted to pick up an order that we had placed with the boss four days ago, she knew nothing. She tried to reach her boss, but to no avail. Our own attempts to reach the boss by phone were also unsuccessful - after several attempts, he finally turned off his cell phone. We were deeply disappointed and angry that we were so let down. Without the food we ordered, we suddenly found ourselves without food for our 10 guests. Luckily, at the last minute we were able to order from FASIKA and pick up the food there, which saved our evening. To this day, a day later, the boss of Injera has not contacted us or apologized. This lack of professionalism and reliability is unacceptable for us. We will definitely never order or eat from Injera again.

Schön eingerichtetes Restaurant mit kleinem Außenbereich. Super nette Bedienung und das Essen ist fantastisch. Wir sind regelmäßig dort und nehmen immer die vegetarische Platte, und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsläden in Köln!

I actually never write reviews and as much as I love this restaurant's ambience and especially its food, today the service was terrible! Were the 2nd in the restaurant and ordered quickly but after 2 hours there was still no food in sight except for the mini starter, which only came after two requests. Everyone around us, some of whom came 1.5 hours later, got their food, which was the same as our order, and we were only assured (after waiting 1 hour) that ours would come straight away, as a larger group got their food at the same time should – which you can also understand. It would have been okay up to that point, but not that everyone around us got their food before us. When we left because we didn't feel like waiting anymore, we were just fobbed off with "Follow it up with my colleague" and weren't even looked at again. I actually love it there but it really wasn't possible!

We were here for dinner in a larger group. As a group, we ordered “group plates” depending on the size of the group, which included a bit of everything. This was available in vegetarian and meat versions (chicken, beef, etc.). Overall, the food was very tasty and was eaten with sour bread, which you could also order as desired. Now to the criticism: We waited almost an hour for our food, then the wrong food came and every time it said "coming in 5 minutes" it was repeatedly 15 to 20 minutes. It also took forever for drinks. We ordered the last drink about 30 minutes before leaving. Otherwise we would have left without it. The toilet was in the neighboring building, so to use the toilet and to wash your hands (you eat with your hands), you had to go outside again and again through the entire restaurant and then to another building. There was a small toilet for everyone in the back room. We wouldn't go here again under any circumstances!! There are countless alternatives with good food and good service and toilets at the same time!

I have already eaten in two other Ethiopian/Abyssinian restaurants (Cologne, London), there several times. In my opinion, the injera is behind. The taste is ok, but the consistency is semi-sweet at best. Very, very good price. 5 people for €103 including several drinks is a great price The toilet is currently undergoing renovation. But even a toilet that is being renovated is likely to be cleaner than here. In addition, it is clearly undersized in terms of quantity, but this may be due to the renovation. Toilet can only be reached via awkwardly constructed stairs Walls full of posters and two African-looking figures don't create an African atmosphere Public transport accessibility is very good, parking is rather difficult. It is better to reserve a parking garage or through various providers in advance My highlight was the service staff: 6 stars!! The lady who served our table was simply great: explained the food in a friendly manner, very patient (unfortunately I arrived 45 minutes late because my pre-reserved parking space was blocked), super attentive, polite - in short: the boss can do a better job not do. But the other service staff also appeared to me to be customer-oriented, as far as I could observe.

Macht rein optisch einen abgeranzten Eindruck, außerdem sind die Tische viel zu klein. Man weiß nicht wohin mit dem Essen. Das Essen selbst ist sehr lecker, da gibt's nur wenig dran auszusetzen. Die Bedienung war ebenfalls freundlich. Für mich ist äthiopisch eher nichts, bin mehr der Gyrostyp. Aber das muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Insofern ist mein Gesamteindruck etwas zwiespältig.

Einfach alles top. Essen einfach überragend Service ultra nett. Keller hatte einen Wasserschaden und sind ihn am renovieren deswegen beim letzten mal noch ein Rohbau.

Leider sehr enttäuschend, außer ( die vegetarische Platte ) hat das Fleisch mir gar nicht gemundet und viel zu teuer für das es nicht meinen Ansprüchen gerecht wurde..

Ich fand dieses Injera Brot nicht besonders lecker. Wirklich schlecht war aber, dass eine Mitarbeiterin so viel zu tun hat, dass sie Dinge vergisst, während es sich eine andere Mitarbeiterin hinter der Theke gemütlich macht, wo gar kein Gast war. Der "Umbau" der Toiletten dauert offenbar weiterhin an - Laut anderen Kommentaren seit mindestens 7 Monaten. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant selber fand ich ganz nett, Das Injera ist wohl einfach Geschmackssache - ich werde jedenfalls nicht mehr hier einkehren.

Es war wirklich ein schöner Abend. Wir fanden es sehr lecker. Die Speisen wirkten auf mich authentisch auch wenn ich mir das ein oder andere auch deutlich schärfer hätte vorstellen können. Die Preise fanden wir sehr fair. Ambiente war auch völlig ok, der Service war super. Kurz gesagt... Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The food is nice but not very tasty. The decoration is confusing: a mix of random african and latinoamerican (basically not white) illustrations. It feels like a huge culinary-appropriation case with not very accurate decoration sensibility. Service was nice though.

Tolles Restaurant. Und sehr leckere Speisen! Mal was ganz anderes. Das einzige ist, dass man nicht mit Karte zahlen kann. Kartenzahlung zur heutigen Zeit ein absolutes muss.

Es war mein erster Besuch bei einem Äthiopier, daher wusste ich nicht, was mich erwartet. Aber es war einfach klasse! Das Essen und der alkoholfreie Cocktail waren super lecker! Die Speisekarte hatte für jeden etwas zu bieten (sowohl Vegetarische als auch mit Fleisch). Das Ambiente war fantastisch und die Bedienung super nett und hilfsbereit. Man bekommt am Anfang eine kurze Einweisung, wie man isst und dann geht's los. Da man hier vor allem mit den Händen isst, war es zu Beginn etwas schwierig, aber man hat den Dreh schnell raus. Und im Notfall kann man auch Besteck bestellen ;) Wir hatten außerdem das große Glück an einem Abend mit einer Ausstellung da zu sein. Während des Abends wurden viele verschiedene, wunderschöne Werke v.a. kolumbianischer Künstler ausgestellt während ein DJ passende Musik auflegte. Es war unglaublich faszinierend!

Super lecker und tolle Bedienung! Ich hab mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Ambiente ist toll und die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam. Ich hab mich rundum wohl gefühlt. Alle vegetarischen Gerichte sind auch vegan, was ich als Veganer super finde. Ich habe die vegetarische Platte für eine Person gegessen und das war vom der Menge absolut ausreichend für mich.

Man muss sich auf das Essen einlassen. Mit Fingern essen in einem Restaurant ist nicht "normal". Leichte Schärfe, lecker, aber extrem sättigend. Einrichtung auch Top, nur der Service lies zu wünschen übrig. Es war nicht viel los und dennoch hat man ca 20 Minuten auf ein Getränk gewartet. Dass das Essen etwas länger braucht ist okay, aber Getränke könnten etwas schneller gehen. Alles in allem aber dennoch einen Besuch wert.

Sehr solide! Die Atmosphäre ist sehr nett, man sitzt sehr gemütlich - drinnen und draußen. Der Service war freundlich, aber etwas verplant. Absprachen im Team haben nicht gut geklappt und wir haben sehr lange auf Getränke und vor allem Essen gewartet. Es gab Samosas (mega) und die vegetarische Platte für 4. Geschmacklich war die Platte gut, mir hat nur bei manchen Gerichten das gewisse Etwas / Würze gefehlt. Die Menge war top. Die Wraps konnten nachbestellt werden - wir waren zu sechst und sind alle mehr als satt geworden.

Ich war mit meiner Freundin hier essen. Es hat uns beiden super gut gefallen man wurde schnell bedient,freundlich und offen. Das essen war uuuuuunfassbar lecker es ist ein vermeintlich einfaches essen aber wenn man die ersten bissen macht und merkt wie viel liebe und hingabe im fleisch und den beilagen ist, dann weiss man, man isst etwas neues und besonderes. Jedem weiter zu empfehlen. Food koma sollte man einberechnen haha, wir hatten eins✌🏼

Das Essen ist auf keinen Fall Äthiopiens Küche. Der Tee als Äthiopien Chai angeboten war Lipton mit etwas Zimt im Zucker. Das Essen war lauwarm und auch.nicht Äthiopien Küche. Meine Frau ( Äthiopische) und ich haben anschließend Magen und Darm Probleme bekommen. Das Restaurant hat eine gute Ambiente aber die Toiletten sind gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nicht weiter empfehlen. Wir haben nicht mal zu Ende gegessen, es war geschmacklich nicht zu vergleichen mit andere Unternehmen. Ich empfehle

Super leckere eritreische Küche. Es schmeckt anders als die üblichen Gerichte, die man kennt. Ich habe mir von Freunden sagen lassen, dass dies der beste Eritrea der Stadt ist. Definitiv mal ein Besuch wert!

Eigentlich war ich immer ein Fan vom Injera aber gestern wurde ich enttäuscht. Ich hatte eine Woche vorher einen Tisch reserviert und bekam erst auf nochmalige Nachfrage eine Rückmeldung. Der Service war zwar sehr freundlich aber qualitativ schlecht. Wir mussten sehr lange warten bis die Getränkebestellung aufgenommen wurde und als die Vorspeisen kamen, wurde eine davon vergessen. Wir hatten die vegetarische Injera-Platte bestellt und leider waren nicht alle Gerichte heiß sondern teilweise nur lauwarm. Zudem waren die Kichererbsen aus und wir bekamen stattdessen einfach 2x Linsen, vorher informiert oder gefragt, was wir stattdessen möchten, wurden wir nicht. Die Toiletten waren leider gar nicht sauber und zudem standen im Restaurant überall Kartons herum, die Atmosphäre war dadurch nicht so einladend. Als wir bezahlen wollten, ließ sich die Kellnerin wieder lange nicht blicken. Letzten Endes gingen wir dann nach vorne an die Theke und fanden sie essend hinter der Theke sitzend vor. Ich verstehe, dass man manchmal Hunger bekommt aber wenn man die einzige Servicekraft in einem Restaurant ist, sollte man seine Gäste trotzdem nicht aus den Augen lassen. Wir waren enttäuscht und werden jetzt erst einmal andere äthiopische Restaurants ausprobieren. Schade… früher war das Injera wirklich toll :-(

Great food! One of my favourite places in Cologne!

Köstliches Essen, mein Highlight sind die vegane Injera Platte und végane Samosa(Zambuza), hausgemachte Cocktails, bester Ort sind auf jeden Fall die Lounge Sofas! Aber auch mit meiner Firma waren wir schon da zum Weihnachtsessen, auch das war wahnsinnig fantastisch! Und auch für alle besonders! Dass das Essen nicht nur wahnsinnig lecker, sondern auch noch richtig gut für den Körper ist, ist auch etwas besonderes! Das es, wie typisch in Eritrea mal ein bisschen Geduld braucht, darauf sollte man sich einstellen, und sich daran erfreuen, dass das Essen frisch und traditionell zubereitet wird.

Very friendly East African restaurant offering food to suit both vegetarians and omnivores. We had the sharing platter for two option. With one cocktail and one tea the bill came to just over €40. The food was very tasty, the cocktail excellent. We thought it represented excellent value and had to go for a long walk afterwards as we were very full.

Nach drei Jahren Pause wieder dort gegessen. Es war enttäuschend. Der Service war nett, aber vermittelte nicht wie früher afrikanische Athmosphäre. Das Essen geschmacklich gut, aber teils nur lauwarm. In kleinen Schälchen auf kalter Unterplatte ohne Wörmeunteeteil oä geht das natürlich schnell.Wirde früher ganz anders präsentiert und serviert. . Das Geschirr war modern und deutsch, teils abgestoßene Kanten, nicht wie früher auch in afrikanischen Stil. Fussboden war sehr schmutzig, Kissen lagen in wirren Haufen gestapelt, Irgendwie Flair einer Abstellkammer, der Gastraum wirkte kahl, alles war ungemütlich, schmuddelig. Vertrocknete Palmen und auf dem Boden liegende Blätter uä taten ihr Übriges. Leider sehr unschön. Alles wirkte wie kurz vor dem Ende. Leider unser letzter Besuch.

Hidden gem in Cologne. Very friendly and attentive staff. We had the platter with a variety of Ethiopian dishes. I do recommend this as you get to have a bit of everything. The lentils were my favourite eventho I’m a carnivore. And overall all dishes were finger licking good. Including drinks we paid 105€ for four people. Which from my point of view is more than reasonable. Will definitely go there again.

Köstliches Essen! Wir haben die Injera-Platte zum teilen gehabt und wurden mehr als satt ☺️ Injera kann man auch kostenfrei bestellen, falls es schneller weggeht als die Eintöpe. Leider scheint Bedienung etwas verschlafen zu sein? Wir mussten lange warten, bis wir zahlen konnten und uns selber aktiv darum bemühen.

Gemütliches Restaurant, leicht abgerockt, mit sehr leckerem Essen. Wir hatten ein gemischte Platte für 2 mit allen vegetarischen Gerichten, Lamm und natürlich dem Injera-Brot. Alles super lecker und gut gewürzt. Der Injera Spritz ist auch ein passender Aperitif dazu. Der Service war freundlich, aber manchmal etwas überfordert. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.
