Very low-key family-business-like place with delicious food. Very attentive and friendly staff and owners. Vegetarian alternative to all the asian eats.

We drank herbal tea, it had many different aromas, we liked it very much and it relaxed us very much, we slept comfortably that night.

Food was pretty good, taste, portion size, presentation... All good. We had a good experience with the server also. I really enjoyed the food.

Good and friendly service, but we didn't particularly enjoy the food (a mixed platter with meat). The white cheese was completely flavorless, the vegetables had a sour, fermented taste, and the honey wine also tasted fermented and smelled a bit like a compost bin (is that supposed to be the case?). I've had some very delicious Ethiopian food elsewhere, so we were unpleasantly surprised.

We ate here during our trip to Köln. We had never tried Ethiopian food before and thought it would be a good idea to try something new. We were so impressed with how delicious everything was! Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes were full of flavor and really tasty. The waiter was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and making sure everything was in order. Big thanks to Fasika’s team for a lovely evening and a great experience. We’d definitely recommend it!

A very interesting experience. I tried Ethiopian cuisine for the first time, and it was delicious. The bread was very new to me when I first tried it and really liked it. I ordered Doro Tibs, which was with chicken, and it wasn't that spicy, but it was really tasty.

It was extremely delicious and the servers were very nice. I definitely want to come back here. When I made my reservation online, it said they included a free coffee, but by the time I realized we didn't get it, it was already too late. I'll just order it next time.

A very cozy restaurant with very nice, attentive, and friendly staff. They serve both meat and vegan dishes. The food is also very tasty, although I would have liked a bit more spice and some more unique flavors. It was still very tasty, and I would come back. You should definitely reserve a table, as it can get very busy on weekends.

Hidden gem in Cologne my first time trying Ethiopian food and I’m absolutely blown away. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our waiter was super friendly and took the time to explain everything to us. The food is served on injera, a slightly sour flatbread that pairs beautifully with all the dishes. The chicken was incredibly tender, and both the lamb and beef melted in your mouth – barely needed to chew. Even the feta cheese was full of flavor and perfectly balanced the plate. This was definitely not my last Ethiopian food experience – and especially not my last visit here. 5 stars all the way!

This is hands down the BEST Ethiopian restaurant I’ve ever been to. I went for the vegetarian option with shiro, and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced. The injera was soft and fresh, and every item on the platter was delicious in its own way. The shiro especially stood out—creamy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. You can tell everything is made with love and tradition. The service was warm and welcoming, and the vibe of the place was relaxed and cozy. On top of all that, the prices were fair and the portions generous. Great food, great value. If you love Ethiopian cuisine—or are curious to try it—this spot is a must.

Was on a business trip in Cologne two and a half years ago and again today. I was really looking forward to the visit and was not disappointed again!

We ate vegan and it was really, really tasty. Vegan dishes are also listed separately on the menu. The service was great and we also really enjoyed the Ghana beer.

The food at Fasika was fair, but the service was disappointing. Despite our reservation, no table was reserved, and we had to wait until they relocated other guests—only to be seated in front of the toilet. Poor organization ruined the experience.

This was my second time eating there and the food is incredibly delicious. We had the vegan main course as a large platter for four people and we were all so full. We continued eating anyway because it was so delicious. The employees are super friendly and you feel very comfortable. The price is also relatively cheap for what you get. Full recommendation!

I have ordered here several times and have always been very satisfied, the food tastes great! There are also great options for vegetarians, my favorite being the mixed plate with flatbread.

I didn't know the restaurant before and had no idea what Ethiopian cuisine was. However, I was thoroughly impressed by both and came a second time a few months later.

Cozy. Mixed crowd, visually with roots in Ethiopia, Eritrea, etc., which speaks for the place.

Additional injera was brought at no extra charge. Super friendly and courteous service from the waiter. We would like to highlight this in particular here, as we have rarely received such hospitable and kind service. Thank you very much for that! An all-round successful evening. Was ok just expensive. I tipped very well (almost 10 euros) but he told us when we were leaving, through the door that he had forgotten to charge us for a glass of apple juice. That's a bit stingy…

Okayish food, prices are a bit higher than the online menu. We ordered the mixed platter for two and two Ghana beers (banana and passion fruit). We went at 6pm, only one other table was occupied but a lot of people arrived at 7pm, so if you plan to be there at 7, it is better to book in advance.

Everyone has their own taste. I found it absolutely wonderful. And the atmosphere is really great. It was completely different than what I know. All fish and homemade. The waiters are super attentive and read your wishes straight from your eyes. A journey of enjoyment. GREAT THANK YOU 🥰

I love this place and the food. I'm a regular here now. I have already visited several Ethiopian restaurants outside of North Rhine-Westphalia and I have to say one thing. This is the coziest and tastiest anywhere! Definitely recommend!

We spontaneously decided on this restaurant, were convinced by the positive reviews and since I like eating Ethiopian food, we were excited. We ordered and then had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks, which only came when we asked. Then waited another 15 minutes for the starter, three small Sanbussas. Then another 20 minutes for our food. In total we had to wait over 50 minutes, in a very empty shop mind you. Drinks and cutlery were forgotten, we didn't ask whether we wanted rice or injeras with the main course, which was also our mistake in not giving specific information, but simply another sign of the subterranean service that took place there. For my €15 chicken main course, I got a tiny little chicken leg with about 40g of chicken meat on it. The seasoning was really poor. My partner ordered the Lakech Tibs for just under €18, which had no spice other than a lot of oil. Overall, we left €50 for very mediocre food and poor service. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately really disappointing :( Only the Sanbussa, they were really tasty.

Yesterday I had Ethiopian food for the first time and I have to say, I missed something for a long time. The principle is simple, it's best to order a mixed platter to share (purely vegetarian or mixed with meat) And eats with your hands. What may seem unusual at first changes after the first bite. The food is very tasty and simply delicious. There was also honey wine, a specialty with alcohol that shouldn't be missed. All in all a nice restaurant, a bit inconspicuous from the outside but you get really good food here at a fair price. A mixed meat platter costs €32 for 2 people and we had a lot left over at the end which we took with us!

The meat dishes were good but one of the vegan dishes was not fresh at all, yet they insisted it was. There were no apologies or anything. The hospitality was very unpleasant—this is the worst Habesha restaurant I’ve ever been to.

Very tasty food at a great price. The mildly spiced version of the food is also spicier than the untrained palate is usually used to, but you can tolerate it and are rewarded with a great taste.

The food is good, the service is very slow, you can wait up to an hour for the food. The workers are not very friendly.

Although I reserved a table online I wasn't on the guest list. I ordered a drink and a mixed vegan plate for two persons. The food came after 20 minutes. This was ok considering that the mixed plate consists of multiple smaller dishes. But I was dissappointed by the size of the plate. For the price I expected a bigger plate. The food was ok otherwise. The toilets were in a good condition and clean. It was solid but because of the bad food to price ratio I wouldn't go there again. Habesha in Dortmund offers more bang for the buck.

Fasika serves delicious Ethiopian food near Barbarossa Square. The map is clear. There are also many vegan dishes. The prices are absolutely fair. My vegan platter tasted very good. The service staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Payment is easy via credit card. It should always be like this.

My friend an I just fell in love with the food. It was once again one of the best dinner experiences ever, never disappointed with Ethiopian food. The service was really attentive, towards the end of the main dish, they came with extra injera. Although we were full, it was just that attention that made the night more wholesome and cared for. The portion looked perfect initially, but the more we ate the more it looked endless (nothing to complain about), so I can safely say that the price is all worth it. Absolutely suggested.

I've been to Fasika for years and have been very satisfied with the taste. Back then there was a bowl of water and lemon on the table so you could wash your hands (after all, you eat with your fingers), that no longer exists today. The sanitary facilities are also very old. Therefore deducting a star. But great food and friendly service for a lovely evening.

First time trying Ethiopian food. Felt so homely and soul satisfying. High time that naturally vegan cuisines get more recognition rather than vegan alternatives.

Sehr gutes und gemütliches äthiopisches Restaurant fußläufig des Barbarossaplatzes. Man bekommt zu einem guten Preis leckere Gerichte. Ich kann definitiv empfehlen, den gemischten Teller zu bestellen und sich durch die unterschiedlichen Gerichte durchzuprobieren!

FASIKA...fast wäre ich an DIR vorbeigegangen...SCHADE wäre es gewesen!!! Ich wurde sehr herzlich begrüßt und das Essen war ein warer Genuss. Das Essen kommt frisch zubereitet ,teilweise noch PRUZELND aus der Küche. Einzige ganz ganz kleine Kritik, die Raumtemperatur stieg im Restaurant durch die zusätzliche wundervolle Kaffeezeremonie an. Daher LEICHTE KLEIDUNG von Vorteil 😉. Ganz wichtig für jeden der diese Küche ausprobieren möchte...UNBEDINGT RESERVIEREN!!!

Sehr leckeres Essen in nettem Ambiente. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und selbst kurzfristig wurde eine Reservierung ermöglicht.

Wir haben heute zu viert hier zu Abend gegessen und sind alle begeistert aus dem Restaurant gegangen. Das Essen war fantastisch, wir hatten einmal den veganen Teller und einmal den gemischten Teller mit Fleisch und beide waren super lecker. Die Portionen haben eine sehr gute Größe und das Preis Leistungs verhältnis stimmt. Es ist wirklich gemütlich in dem Lokal und die Menschen die dort arbeiten sind sehr zuvorkommend und geben sich total viel Mühe mit allem. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und können es nur von Herzen empfehlen!

We’ve been coming here since 2012. Quality of food hasn’t changed, and that’s what’s making us come back regularly. They’re consistent. The restaurant has improved, though. I’d say it’s much brighter and livelier now than before. And the owner is amazing. He’d really go out of his way to make each client satisfied. Kudos to the team and more power!
