Very good Indian restaurant in an impressive building

As an Indian, I can say that this is good cuisine but not very good! The food is too sweet. German customers will hardly notice this. As a Punjabi, I can do that. The selection is very good. Prices are OK!

It was our first time at IndiaHaus and we were very impressed, so we will definitely stop by this great restaurant often. Here you get really authentic traditional food from India. The service was very friendly, accommodating and took the time to show us the menu and give us advice. We have very rarely experienced such great service. In my opinion there is no other shop in Hameln where you are treated like this. The drinks came quite quickly after we placed the order. The food didn't take long either, was extremely fresh and very, very hot when it arrived at our table. Prices are also totally fair. All in all absolutely recommended. This restaurant actually deserves much more than 5 stars for their effort. We'd love to come back.

During my visits the service was always perfect. No matter whether the tables are full or the days are quiet, the staff is always friendly, attentive and professional. After more than 10 visits, I haven't noticed a single negative aspect. The quality of the food is consistently high and the lunch menu offers unbeatable value for money. It is a top address in Hameln, especially for a quick, delicious lunch. An all-round successful experience that brings joy every time! I cannot understand the previous negative reviews about the service. The employees are always polite, courteous and in a good mood. I can't quite understand the "watery" mango lassi either. We always enjoyed this, even in large groups. And the food is definitely spicy, but it tastes like spices and not like MSG.

Centrally located Indian who lives primarily from passing tourist customers, And unfortunately you notice that. The service employee hands you the plates without comment (you can cover yourself, he probably never learned otherwise). Then rarely drank such a watery lassi, almost tasteless. The same applies to the two main courses, bland and carelessly made. The raita (yoghurt) was totally over-sweetened. I know a lot of Indian restaurants in Germany, but this one is clearly one of the worst.

Table for two had been pre-booked the day before, when we arrived it wasn't noted. The slightly annoyed waitress just pointed to a table in the corner. After 5 minutes we got the cards. After another 10 minutes someone came to order. The food would just be put in front of us. Not a friendly word about this came from the waiter's lips. I had butter chicken, my husband had the Jhal Ferczi. My butter chicken was barely seasoned and the meat was dry. Jhal Ferczi wasn't even remotely hot as the card said. We have tried many Indian restaurants and this is the worst we have ever eaten. It's a shame because we heard from many people that it was so delicious there.

You can have excellent food here. Indian cuisine is a bit Europeanized, not quite as spicy but still spicy and tasty. There is something to suit every taste. You can definitely follow the staff's recommendation. Even our vegetarians were more than satisfied. Price/performance match 100%. We can really recommend the India Haus with a clear conscience. Another visit is already planned.

I actually expected something different. The external appearance of the location is great, and inside there are also great and beautiful spots relating to Hamelin's history. But I don't think it goes with Indian food at all, and there's hardly any Indian decoration either. Big drawback on my part, it was so incredibly loud that you couldn't understand your own words. You should definitely reserve in advance, we got an “emergency spot”. The food took a long time to arrive, it took 45-50 minutes from placing the order until the food was on the table. It was tasty, but we probably won't come back again.

We've always eaten here in the evening and it's always been great. Now we also tested the lunch menu and it was really tasty. The dishes are served in small bowls in the evening and everything is served on your plate at lunchtime. It's a very large portion for a very good price. I can only recommend everyone to eat here. Regardless of whether it is a vegetarian or meat dish, everything is deliciously prepared and seasoned. The service is very nice and attentive.

We ate three daily menus and the food was incredible. Very generous amounts and the price was very nice too. The lassi drinks were also top. Service quality was also incredible and the owner was very kind. They could speak also spanish and of course english and german. Can definetely recommend it!

We had a very tasty and inexpensive lunch. Lunch with reduced prices lasts until 3 p.m. The food was very tasty and, above all, digestible. You can choose the level of spiciness and it is always specified in the dish. Very highly recommended. Very clean toilets when we were there. We'd love to come back.

We have ordered and picked up food more frequently in the last few months. The dishes are always very good and taste very tasty. But what really bothers me is that we keep being told that the credit card machine is defective. If we say on the phone that we don't have cash and wouldn't order otherwise, credit card payment is accepted. When I picked it up, a customer in front of me wanted to pay a bill of almost 200 euros with a credit card, which was refused. After being told several times that we would only pay with a credit card, we were finally able to pay with a credit card. I find this way neither customer-friendly nor serious. It's actually a shame, because the food is really great and delicious. However, that is one reason why we no longer like ordering or going there.

The IndiaHaus in the Pied Piper House in Hameln is an interesting choice for lovers of Indian cuisine. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and my experience was mixed. The atmosphere in the IndiaHaus is rather old and doesn't give a particularly tasteful impression. The restaurant is housed in a historic building, which adds charm, but the ambience could use a refresh. The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the food. The menu offers a very large selection of dishes. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was excellent and tasted appealing. Unfortunately, the service at IndiaHaus wasn't quite as smooth. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed and may not have been as attentive as hoped. It also seemed like they weren't fully aware of all the intricacies of the menu. Of course this can happen and it only slightly marred the overall experience. It wasn't a major problem, but there was room for improvement. Overall, my visit to the IndiaHaus in the Pied Piper House in Hameln was a positive experience, but not without some criticisms. The quality of the food was very good but the atmosphere and service could be improved.

Great store, good prices, great service

We were there with a larger group and absolutely satisfied. Despite it being a Saturday evening, we didn't have to wait long. All the waiters were extremely attentive and cheerful. We felt very well looked after. It was also great that we were sitting down in the basement as a large group, so the background noise was very pleasant. The quality and huge selection of the food is also great. The food is absolutely generous and you always get rice and bread. We found the concept of rice in bowls so that everyone can choose how much they want etc. to be very good. The bread that comes with it is an absolute highlight. All in all a very successful evening and highly recommended. We would definitely like to come back.

Staff friendly. The Indian beer is delicious. Can be very loud if there are a lot of guests because the tiled floor is acoustically unfavorable. Then the conversation volume at the tables gets very high. Food is OK but just average compared to many other Indian restaurants I have visited both here and abroad. There is a 1 star deduction because the portions are far too small. As a normal eater, you won't get full with just one main course.

Haven't eaten so well in a long time, also suitable for people with food intolerances. You can ask and have vegetarian dishes converted to vegan. We'll definitely be back! It's best to book a table in advance, but it usually works without a reservation 😉

Kaum eingetreten wird man herzlichen empfangen. Auch überdies hinaus ist ein sehr guter Service vorhanden. Das Essen in Relation zum Preis völlig in Ordnung und es schmeckt hervorragend. Die Stühle sind etwas hart, der Platz zu den anderen Tischen einwandfrei.

ドイツハーメルン中心街入口付近にある有名なレストラン。笛吹野郎の宿だったホテルを改装したとか。店内奥の壁一面には笛吹野郎が子供達を連れ去る様子が描かれている。事前に予約をするとネズミの尻尾なる料理が食べれます。本物のネズミではないw。1284年に約130人の子供達が建物隣にあるBungelosen Str ブンゲローゼン通りから連れ去られたと云われており、現在も音楽や躍り、騒いではいけない通りとなっている。昼夜でもあまり人通りが少なく、何処と無く暗寂しい感じ。

Wir haben einen schönen Abend bei gutem Esssen verlebt. Die Speisen, die wir genossen haben, waren sehr lecker. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Wir waren zur Mittagszeit da und waren zunächst die einzigen Kunden. Davon sollte man sich nicht abschrecken lassen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, frisch und die Portionen sind mehr als ausreichend. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen wieder 😊

Das Essen war sehr lecker, Mittagstisch günstig. Personal nett. Die Musik war mir etwas zu laut, sonst war alles gut. Nächstes Mal werden wir später dort essen, damit wir was anderes aus der Speisekarte probieren können, was es zum Mittag nicht gibt.

Das Restaurant von Außen ist sehr schön, leider von Innen sehr einfach gehalten ohne jegliche Dekorationen. Es hat sehr leblos gewirkt bzw. die Ambiente war nicht einladend. 4 Personen mit jeweils ein Getränk hat insgesamt 103€ betragen. Für diesen Preis war die Portion wenig und der Geschmack war OK. Ich habe schon für diesen Preis besser indisch gegessen gehabt. Von daher kann ich die vielen guten Rezessionen nicht nachvollziehen.

Der Service ist gut, allerdings sind die Portionen echt klein. Ich habe außerdem ein Curry mit Gemüse und Hähnchen bestellt. Das einzige Gemüse war Zuccini. Insgesamt eher enttäuschend.

Ich war das erste mal indisch essen. Es war total lecker. Der Service sehr nett und hat alle Fragen wunderbar erklärt. Ich komme gerne wieder.

War nach Jahren wieder einmal in Hameln und musste mit Entsetzen feststellen dass es das gutbürgerliche Restaurant im Rattenfängerhaus nicht mehr gibt. Einmal vor Ort haben wir das indische Lokal probiert und waren angenehm überrascht. Die Mittagskarte zu fairen Preisen, schmackhaft und reichlich. Nur das Ambiente - Fachwerk und Indien - irgendwie passt es nicht zusammen.

Nach langer Zeit war ich mal wieder in Hameln. Zur Mittagszeit fiel mir das India Haus auf, das ich bisher nicht kannte. Die Karte hörte sich vielversprechend an, und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen (ich habe mich für die Mittagskarte entschieden) war geschmacklich sehr gut, und die Portionsgröße reichlich, der Service sehr freundlich. Das Rattenfängerhaus kenne ich seit meiner Kindheit, ich ich finde das Ambiente sehr schön. Beim nächsten HM-Besuch werde ich garantiert wieder hier essen.

Sehr leckeres Essen, es gibt viele Gerichte für Vegetarier. Es gibt auch Fleischgerichte, wenn Sie etwas Ungewöhnliches probieren wollen, empfehle ich Ihnen einen Besuch.

Sehr leckeres Essen und sehr toller Service. Es kommen immer wieder Mitarbeiter und fragen ob alles in Ordnung ist, Mein Essen wurde eingepackt und es wurde noch Reis hinzugefügt. Zum Ende gab es noch einen Mango Schnaps. Ich war 2 mal da und 2 mal war ich sehr zufrieden. Ich werde wieder kommen 😊

Schade, weder das Essen, noch das Ambiente haben uns überzeugt. Kommt man nur zu zweit, sitzt man schon mal mitten im eigentlichen Gang, zugig und laut. Die Tischdecke war schmutzig und bekleckert. Das Essen war Standard convinience und ohne frische Kräuter und Gewürze serviert. Das Service Personal war z.T. ungeschult bzw. unwissend im Umgang mit Gästen und in der Zubereitung von Getränken/Cocktails.

Leider hatte unser indisches Lieblingsrestaurant in Hameln heute geschlossen und wir wollten das IndiaHaus ausprobieren, auch auf Grund guter Rezensionen. Kurzum: so gar nicht unser Fall. Das Ambiente hat mit Indien wenig zu tun, sondern würde eher zu einer altdeutschen Kneipe passen, die Toiletten waren unsauber. Wir mussten eine Stunde auf das Essen warten und dieses war sehr mäßig. Die Portionen waren zwar ausreichend, aber geschmacklich entweder sehr scharf oder langweilig gewürzt, das Naan ähnelte ungesalzenem, fritiertem, fettigem Pizzateig.

Wir haben in Hamburg ein indisches Restaurant, welches für uns immer der Maßstab für gutes Essen mit indischen Charakter ist. Damit verglichen ist dieses Restaurant absolut ok und das Essen solide und schmackhaft. Aber auch nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Trotzdem kann man das Restaurant empfehlen. Verkehrt macht man hier nochts. Zu dem Papadam wurde eine äußerst süsse Mangomarmelade gereicht. Keine weiteren Varianten. Der Service war äußerst freundlich und das Ambiente, der Gastraum sind sehr ansprechend.

Gestern besuchte ich das Restaurant mit meiner Freundin zum ersten Mal. Sie hatte Geburtstag und wollte schon lange dahin. Wir beide lieben indisches Essen und seit unseres Umzuges nach Hameln haben wir es echt vermisst (siehe meine andere Rezension zum India Haus in Göttingen). Ich hatte angerufen und einen Platz im Hauptraum (!) reserviert, hatte die Geburtstagssituation erklärt und uns wurde freundlich angeboten den Platz ein wenig zu dekorieren. Das war sehr lieb und ist auch hübsch geworden. Bedient wurden wir sehr freundlich und schnell, auch auf das Essen mussten wir nicht zu lange warten. Etwas befremdlich fand ich zuerst die im Hintergrund laufende Hip-Hop-Musik (alle Bediener waren recht jung, also verständlich), aber nachdem ich sie geben hatte etwas "klassisches" an zu machen, wurde meinem Wunsch sofort Folge geleistet. Die klassische indische Musik danach (ohne Gesang) war sehr entspannend und das Ambiente wurde viel authentischer. Man hat dann auch den anderen Gästen angesehen, dass sie sich mehr entspannen konnten. Während wir auf das Essen warteten, besuchte ich die Toilette und diese war ohne Zweifel sauber. Dieser Test wurde also auch mit einer 1,3 bestanden. Insgesamt ist das Restaurant sehr hübsch gestaltet, obwohl es im historischen Rattenfängerhaus ist. Es war eine nette Mischung aus einem Fachwerkhaus und indischem Flair. Das Essen war köstlich, da gibt es nichts, aber auch gar nichts auszusetzen. Bin zwar kein Gourmet, aber ich kann gutes Essen vom Schlechten unterscheiden. Uns wurde sogar, auf Wunsch, extra Papadam (das dünne Fladenbrot aus Urdbohnenmehl) sowie extra Basmatireis gebracht, ohne Zusatzkosten. Was soll ich sagen? Da gehen wir wieder hin. :)
