We attended an event with over 300 guests over the weekend. Unfortunately, the service was nowhere near up to the task. There were only four servers in total, which led to long wait times and an overall lack of coordination. Importantly, the individual staff members were consistently friendly and dedicated. The problem clearly wasn't with the staff themselves, but with the severely insufficient staffing, which was clearly overwhelmed by the large event of this kind. Regarding the food, I can only comment on the schnitzel, as it was served at the event. The schnitzel was okay, but the sauce was far too salty. I can't comment on the quality of the steaks available there. The ambiance also didn't feel like a classic steakhouse. Due to the very large space, the venue felt much more like an event location than a steakhouse with the expected atmosphere. It was also noticeable that a fixed price for appetizers had apparently been agreed upon. Despite repeated requests, there was absolutely no flexibility in serving any additional appetizers that were needed. The minimum agreements were strictly adhered to, without any situational response to the actual needs of a large event. Agility, flexibility, and a solution-oriented approach were clearly lacking. I was particularly struck by the behavior of a manager who identified himself as the managing director. When I simply asked for a glass – which was within easy reach – I was repeatedly told to get a waiter, even though he was several meters away. It was explicitly stated that he "didn't work here," but was the managing director, and would not give me the glass. I cannot say whether this was the managing director of the entire venue or merely the person responsible for event management. However, his demeanor came across as arrogant and lacking in service orientation. Especially in the hospitality industry, a manager should set a good example. Based on this experience, I agree with the existing reviews. This concept might work for one or two guests or smaller groups, but for events of this scale, a clear structural overload is evident. Overall, a poor impression regarding organization, flexibility and leadership skills – especially at large events.
