Schmeckt gar nicht. Viel zu teuer, da Essen nicht gut ist

Der 8 Euro Döner schmeckt nach überhaupt nichts . Sosse ist nur unten enthalten , daher ist das Teil auch sehr trocken. Fleisch gibt es nur ein kleines bisschen am Rand , und das ist wirklich schlecht . Der Rindfleischspiess besteht aus einer rötlichen Hackmasse , geschmacklich schwer zu definieren . Ansonsten viel Salat , der komplett ungewürzt ist , so eine Lustlose Zubereitung sucht seines gleichen. Das war mein erster und letzter Mini Döner für 8 Euro bei euch . Kartenzahlung gibt es nicht , Tisch muss man selbst abräumen...

30. Juli 2026, 18:55 Uhr! Die beachten die Leute nicht mal. Wir warten da, um zu bestellen, und die interessieren sich überhaupt nicht dafür. Dann fragen sie uns auch noch, warum wir nicht in ein türkisches Restaurant gehen! Warum sollten wir uns für ein Restaurant entscheiden, in dem man nicht mal begrüßt wird?

Der eine Stern ist dafür das ich mindestens Stern vergeben musste, sonst hätte ich nicht schreiben können. Der schlimmste Laden den ich kenne, in Sachen Bedienung und Service. Bin selber ein Türke, aber das haben die nicht bemerkt, deshalb habe ich alles verstanden was die gesprochen haben. Ich bewerte hier nicht das Essen, dem einen schmeckt es, den anderen nicht. Das ist Geschmacksache. Aber die Leute hinter der Theke von jung bis Alt, alle völligst unfreundlich und das zum zweiten mal das ich hier bin. Wenn die hier anderen Döner Laden wäre, würde hier keine rein gehen, glaube ich. Halt Monopol im Ruhrpark (leider). Die wissen noch nicht mal was die verkaufen, ob hundert Prozent Kalb oder Rind ( da Zucken die nur mit den Schultern 🤦🏻‍♂️)Eine andere Kundin hat gefragt und konnten keine Info geben. Das ist nicht normal. Das war das letzte mal das ich war. Katastrophe und eine Frechheit.

Teuer,wenig auswahl und der Döner ist wie plastik einfach nur ekelhaft

Gemütlich ja... Habe allerdings schon eine große Anzahl an Dönertaschen ,die besser waren, gegessen. War ok. Grund: Der "Salat" war reine Rohkost ohne irgendwie etwas mit Öl oder ähnlichem angemacht. Döner durch wenig Soße (nur unten) sehr trocken. Kalbfleisch war super. Tomaten ohne alles. Kein Salz kein Pfeffer. Wird hier wohl so gemocht. Ok.

Ernsthaft schlechter Döner. Wirklich mit wenig Mühe und mangelnder Hygiene. Die eine Mitarbeiterin wischt unmotiviert mit einem nassen Lappen weniger als 3 Sekunden über die gerade benutzten Tische und lässt den Lappen auf der Selbstbedienungstheke liegen… Das kann man einfach nicht machen. Die Tische innen sind sehr versifft. Die Pommes sind ok, das Kalbfleisch beim Döner weit unter Standard. Viel zu viel Gemüse und Soße reingestopft. Ich war selten so unzufrieden mit einem Döner wie hier.

Unfreundlicher älterer Mitarbeiter an der Kasse. Sehr unverschämt und von oben herab. Und zudem sehr sehr teuer. Eine türkische Pizza 10 Euro.

Vielleicht lecker???? Ich weiß es nicht, da dort nur Barzahlung möglich ist. Irgendwie in 2026 nicht mehr zeitgemäß, zumal der Laden recht groß ist und kein Imbisswagen am Baumarkt….. Schade….

Lahmacun hatte kein Hackfleisch und hat nach Süßstoff geschmeckt. Dönerfleisch im Dönerteller war zum Teil verbrannt, zum Teil roh, Pommes war labrig. Das einzige was ok war, war der Salat und die Zaziki, dafür den einen Stern.

Döner schmeckt nach gar nichts. Einfach billige Massenproduktion. Brot des Döners ist okay daher 2 sterne.

Leider war das Lahmacun eine totale Enttäuschung. Es war kein Fleisch drin und viel zu viel Salat. Wir haben statt eines Lahmacuns einen Salat im Fladenbrot bekommen, was ziemlich traurig war. Wir sind gegangen, ohne es zu essen.

Nichts zu empfehlen. Keine Kartenzahlung im Jahre 2026 ist unterirdisch und hinterlässt einen ganz ganz merkwürdigen Beigeschmack. Personal leider total unfreundlich, das Essen ist sehr teuer für das was man bekommt. Atmosphäre wie bei McDonald’s.

Wir haben das Restaurant zweimal besucht. Die Atmosphäre war angenehm, es gab Selbstbedienung, und das Essen war, ehrlich gesagt, wunderbar – das Brot war weich und fluffig, und der Salat hat mir gut geschmeckt. Die Suppe hingegen entsprach leider nicht dem Standard einer berühmten türkischen Suppe; sie war nur durchschnittlich und geschmacklos.

Der Rindfleisch-Döner war fantastisch 👍

Ich war gestern mit 7 Jungs da und wir haben einen Platz bekommen weil eine sehr nette Mitarbeiterin extra die Tische aneinander geschoben hat. Dazu kann man gegen den Preis nichts sagen, da man für eine große Döner box + Getränk 10€ bezahlt und die Qualität sehr gut ist.

Dieser eine Stern ist schon eine Überbewertung. Wir sind zu dritt, inklusive Kleinkind da gewesen. Gott sei dank hat mein Sohn nicht aufgegessen. Wir hatten zwei Döner Menüs und ein Nuggets Menü. Der Döner und die Pommes waren wirklich ungenießbar. Sowas ekelhaftes habe ich noch nie gegessen. Das Fleisch hat sehr komisch geschmeckt, und Pommes waren labbrig. Mir und meinem Mann wurde danach sowas von übel, sodass ich mich wenige Stunden später auch noch übergeben musste. Nie nie wieder!!!

Uninviting, cold, and unpleasant. The food was subpar. The salad only had half the ingredients listed on the menu. The chicken doner was oversalted. We felt very uncomfortable. The food was so inedible that I could only eat half of it. What a waste of money and what made my stomach churn.

To be honest, I think this restaurant is a disgrace to the Ruhr Park. Absolutely overpriced, uninspired, unclean, fruit flies were flying all over our food. Self-service, cold (you sit there in your jacket), toilet supposedly broken. They direct you to the Ruhr Park restrooms, even though all the staff use the toilet. They just give each table a quick once-over with a rag, focusing on specific spots. Overall, really overpriced. Lahmacun €10, large dry doner kebab with fries €8. They even skimp on the ketchup... you get a tiny dab in a plastic dish. Grilled dishes, bulgur, etc., are no longer offered. Maybe they should just remove them from the menu. Sometimes it's just time to leave and let truly motivated people run the business.

Unfortunately, it's very expensive, which wouldn't be the main problem if the rest of the store was right. The entire place was pretty unkempt and had a pungent smell. The staff was unfriendly and the food mediocre. Our hair and clothes still smelled of grease when we got home. Plus, it was cold there. Maybe we shouldn't cut corners in the wrong places.

Minced meat skewer sold as a doner kebab. The price is the same as a steak doner kebab. Unfortunately, it doesn't even taste good! Chicken doner kebab burnt and dry! If you complain, you're rudely turned away!

Today I was there for the first time in a long time. I was shocked by the new menu. The prices had risen significantly, and the chicken skewers and kofte weren't available. Millet was also removed from the menu. And the plates were slimmed down. The restrooms were never clean. What a shame!!!!! I won't go there anymore.

Very bad service, the employee is really disrespectful

Döner is definitely an industrial product. After cutting, it no longer looks appetizing. It's enough for a quick bite, but that's it. Exorbitant prices. If you go there three times in two weeks, you always see different faces.

Unfortunately we were not satisfied

The shop appears clean and tidy. However, during our visit, the toilet was extremely dirty. The kebab is, as the other reviews already indicate, very expensive and simply not good. A kebab box costs €8.00, and the fries taste like they've been left over. The meat is tasteless. Card payments are also not accepted, for whatever reason. The shop is still doing well, as it's the only kebab shop in the Ruhrpark.

We visited Il'bay for the first time today, and overall, there's virtually nothing to complain about. The restaurant appears relatively chic at first glance. You can choose to sit inside or outside. However, those who choose an outdoor seating area should keep in mind that due to the location of the shop, even compared to other shops in the Ruhrpark, many passersby walk right by – depending on your personal preferences, this may be a nuisance. I have only positive things to say about the service: Everything was smooth and quick, and the staff were consistently friendly. Regarding the food, I can only comment on the lahmacun and the doner kebab plate. Both were delicious. The portion of the doner kebab plate was absolutely adequate, but the lahmacun could have had a bit more meat for the price – the price is on the higher end. However, given the high rents in the Ruhrpark, this is probably understandable. Conclusion: If you're in the Ruhrpark and fancy a good kebab or lahmacun, you can eat here without hesitation. It may not be a must-experience culinary highlight, but it's solid and delicious, no doubt.

Service was self-service, which is okay. Our food was slapped onto our plates very carelessly, and it was cold too. You can only pay in cash, which I personally found stupid. Because you can pay with a card almost everywhere, except unfortunately not there. After ordering, we realized it and had to find a bank to withdraw money. (There are only Sparkasse ATMs.) The manager and the waitress were all in a bad mood, no hello, no goodbye. Unfriendly staff. !! The manager was talking so loudly on the phone and cursing in his own language that I was almost embarrassed. We felt completely uncomfortable.

I tried the kebab and doner at the İlbay restaurant in Bochum, and I was really satisfied. The meat was flavorful and well-cooked. The doner, in particular, had a good balance of spices and a very tender texture. The portions were generous and the presentation was meticulous. The service was fast, and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The place was clean and offered a pleasant, spacious atmosphere from the moment you walked in. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Turkish cuisine in Bochum.

This restaurant is exceptional!!!! Very good produce, perfect hygiene. Plus, it's located in a shopping center, where you can shop in peace.

I find the place quite overpriced: €8 for a large and €7 for a small fries – you'll have to savor that! Unfortunately, the taste is nothing special, and the service doesn't justify the price in any way. You have to order at the counter and pick up your food. Furthermore, one employee barely spoke German and was difficult to understand. The drink prices are also incorrectly marked: 0.5L iced tea costs €2.50, even though the bottles actually only contain 0.4L. And the so-called fries menu is no bargain either – you save a full 50 cents compared to buying them individually. It really doesn't deserve more than two stars.

The meat tasted like paper; there was no flavor to it. The doner bread was delicious.

I got a fries kebab, and there was barely any meat in it. A large one for €8! The fries were rock hard, not even enjoyable! The portions are really small for the money!

Anything but great... unfortunately... the fries taste old; either they're old or the fat is from a week ago... the nuggets are filled with air rather than meat. Unfortunately, the lamacun is very mushy, with hardly any batter. We didn't like the doner meat either. What a shame! Considering how incredibly expensive everything is!

Ilbay in Ruhr Park was a real surprise for us! We weren't really expecting anything special, just a quick bite to eat and then move on, but instead we were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is modern and cozy, making you feel right at home. The menu offers a nice selection, and what came to the table was truly impressive: fresh, aromatic, and lovingly prepared – exactly what you need after a long day. Particularly noteworthy: The service was attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. You can tell that the people working here enjoy their jobs. We had an all-round successful visit, and it won't be the last!

I agree with the widespread opinion that this is – at least from our perspective – not a place to recommend: You look for a place to sit. The table was dirty and not tidy. After you've done that, you have to go to the counter and place your order yourself. No waiter comes to the table to take your order. Then, when your order is ready, you have to go back to the counter (with a sort of alarm clock) and pick up the order yourself and bring it to your table. Not customer-oriented. In addition, the staff is very indifferent and occasionally unfriendly. There was also a hair in our food, which was unappetizing. All in all, this was our last visit because it wasn't appealing. Never again, sorry.

After a long day of shopping in Ruhr Park, we decided to eat at Ilbay, and it was definitely the right choice! Although we had read a few negative reviews beforehand, we wanted to see for ourselves and were absolutely pleasantly surprised. The food was truly delicious, freshly prepared, and tasted amazing. It was especially nice that our individual requests were catered to – something we don't take for granted. The service was super friendly and attentive; we felt completely at home. We'd love to come back and can definitely recommend Ilbay!

The food was okay, but the service was terrible. They don't even ask what you want on it. The side dishes are just slapped on without any care. Apparently, the place is doing well, so the service is neglected.

Simply disgusting, spicy sauce tastes of nothing, tzatziki is really saved if you say add more you get a shitty look, and the döner is disgusting again

UPDATE 3/12/2025 Cheap signs, in English, indicate self-service. No more skewers No charcoal grill Tables (except 1) --> empty (Otherwise you could hardly get a seat) Has been relegated to a pure kebab shop. Okay, then no more... It's a shame, the ambience and the wooden boards and the food were always great. Then somewhere else, CIAO Il'bay After a very long time, you can finally enjoy it carefree again. As always, a super delicious meal. I had veal skewer with fries. Splendid. The turkey skewer was also juicy and tasty. No loss of quality and service is of course again very important.

The restaurant urgently needs to be renovated. Now with self-service. The portions are decent, the food is very tasty. The prices are cheap for the location in the Ruhrpark.

I ate the worst Iskender Kebab of my life here today. For me, neither the Yaprak kebab meat, the bread nor the tomato sauce had the hint of "tasty". Only the yogurt was good. We both left almost all of our portions. And I think 2x 15 euros for delicious yoghurt is just too expensive.

Bad service. The food is of poor quality and is completely overpriced, nothing more needs to be said.

While passing through Bochum, I ate at their place. I had a kebab menu which was excellent. The prices are fair and the restaurant is very clean. Keep it up.

-First, please note that the restaurant is open until 8 p.m. and not 8.30 p.m.- I had a kebab plate with a 0.33l drink (as a menu). I enjoyed it very much. I'm happy with the price of €13 for it. You just have to pick up the meal and cutlery yourself.

I was there today after a long time. From what I can see it was a good improvement. The concept has changed and I think it's very good. You don't have to wait long to order. Order and collect directly. Self-service is a good idea. Schnitzel and nuggets are also on the menu. And there is a great salad dressing. The workers were also nice and friendly. We would also like to thank the long-haired gentleman who looked after us in a friendly manner and with a smile. I hope it continues like this :)
