Authentic, very good Italian. We recently ate at Piccolo Mondo in Heppenheim and we really enjoyed it. The meal was a great visit. The pizza was crispy and had great toppings, and the bruschetta was excellent. We particularly liked that it is a very family-friendly restaurant. We wanted to share dishes and they were served directly on different plates. Very attentive. The atmosphere at Piccolo Mondo is very cozy. The ambience invites you to linger and you immediately feel at home. I would particularly like to highlight the staff, who were incredibly friendly and attentive. We felt well looked after and will definitely come back. A real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Italian food in a pleasant environment!

Always happy, the service is typically Italian, familiar and incredibly friendly. The food was great, fresh ingredients and varied. We were there with the family after my dad's funeral 7 years ago and since then it has always been a place of special moments for me... with mom a year ago still very emotional and yesterday with the family on the occasion of her 75th. Delicious Italian cuisine, the staff are passionate about it! Starting with the friendly and attentive service, through delicious starters such as vitello tonnato and carpaccio to the main course: pizza (you have to try it!) or, as in our case, Argentine Angus rump steak strips with a side dish. By the way, the rump steak is a little insider tip. Great quality, straight to the point - one or two steakhouses can take a page from this! All in all a lovely visit, we would love to come back! By the way: if the portion is too big, you can take your food home in a food storage container and bring it with you next time. The environment is happy! ***Update*** My parents, who moved to HP last year, have long since declared this restaurant to be their new favorite restaurant. Of course, when we visited HP, we couldn't miss a visit to the restaurant here. In addition to the menu, some changing daily dishes are also offered. This time, among other things, a veal rump steak in Gorgonzola sauce with pasta. Large portion, tasty and the rump steak is on point!

The food is tasty, but there isn't enough on the plate for the price. Unfortunately, offers that were not on the menu were not pointed out, but otherwise very friendly.

I'll get straight to the point: The really well-coordinated (family?) team at Piccolo Mondo provides its guests with high-quality and delicious food that couldn't be better! Simply a delight! Our evening was perfect! After grilled vegetables as a starter, my wife had the sole and I had the Saltimbocca Romana. Again: you can't do it better! As foreigners, we were in this restaurant for the first time and when we arrived we were a bit surprised by the kind of winter garden atmosphere, the many guests and the background noise. But after a short while we started to enjoy it. Yes, people want to exchange ideas over food, it's part of the culture. The team kept asking very carefully whether everything was right for us - we felt we were well looked after. For us this evening it was a place of well-being, a highlight that we will remember. Absolute and enthusiastic recommendation! THANKS!

Top value for money, friendly service, delicious food. At the end of a short trip to the Odenwald we went here for dinner. We had a pizza with fior di latte and the papardelle with strips of beef. Both excellent. Plus a nice Primitivo. The pizza in particular was excellent both visually and in taste. Cozy winter garden. I'll be back!

We have been regular guests at Piccolo Mondo for years. We can only recommend it. The food is always great, always delicious and always varied. “Off the menu” is always particularly recommended. The familiar hospitality of the whole family is always good.

We've been here several times and think it has the best pizza in Heppenheim. But other dishes (including dessert) are also great :)

I was in Germany for work for more than 3 weeks, I went to Piccolo Mondo almost every evening, as an Italian, I can say that in this restaurant you can feel the atmosphere of home, the food is excellent, the hosts welcome you with their hearts from southern Italy…Truly excellent place.

The pizzas, topped with fresh ingredients, are absolutely fair in price. You can pick up your food there or eat in the restaurant. If you want to do the latter, a reservation a few weeks in advance is definitely mandatory. However, if you want to pick up, a lot of patience is required, as we discovered last time. We were told 30 minutes over the phone. So when we got there a few minutes later, we were told it would take about 10 minutes.....ok, so wait. After another 20 minutes and a repeated "food is almost ready", we heard from the service staff and kitchen that they hadn't even started cooking our food. After more than an hour, we received our two pizzas with a succinct “bon appetit”. All in all, a good place with good food, but the service could be improved.

Yesterday we ordered three pizzas to take away - 2x parmigiana and a rocket - and fell off our chairs when we got the bill. 50€!!! For three pizzas? 17€ for a pizza that was already cold when I picked it up and the pizza or whatever on it was totally inedible. It was like plastic, so hard you could hardly chew it! If a pizza costs almost as much as a meat dish, then at least it should taste good and be warm! Unfortunately, the restaurateur doesn't provide any prices on his online menu. Why can't you be transparent for your guests? I wouldn't have ordered a pizza at that price! And that will probably be the reason! Is that fair? I really don't like writing negative reviews, but unfortunately I see a development here that isn't nice and doesn't fit the price-performance ratio at all! I think that's a real shame! During our last visit we even had to pay money for the plastic packaging in order to take the food with us. I have never experienced anything like this anywhere else! Everything good for you!

Very nice restaurant in Heppenheim

Sehr gute, frische italienische Küche, immer auch mit speziellen Tagesgerichten außerhalb der normalen Speisekarte. Freundlicher Service. Ein besonderes Ambiente, denn man sitzt in einem ehemaligen Gewächshaus. Es ist hier immer gut besucht, daher ist es leider meist auch sehr laut. Es empfiehlt sich vorab einen Tisch zu reservieren.

Sehr gutes Essen. Ambiente zum Advent sehr schön, aber wie immer italienisch-hektisch recht laut. Bedienungen sehr nett. Preisniveau angemessen bis günstig für diese Qualität. Ein Tipp: Wenn bei einer Pizza steht, sie sei scharf, dann stimmt das... ;-)

Unbedingt reservieren. Selbst unter der Woche randvoll. Der Service war sehr nett. Das Essen war richtig toll und wurde trotz übervollem Lokal relativ zügig gebracht. Jedoch sehr hochpreisig. Für 2 Personen (1 gemeinsame Vorspeise, 2 Hauptgänge, 3 Cola und 1 Espresso) haben wir 76€ bezahlt.

Absolute Bombe, bester Italiener im Umkreis an der Bergstrasse

Ich war gestern mit Freunden dort und es war sehr lecker! Der Service war sehr gut und freundlich und das Essen war ebenfalls überragend. Ich habe lange nicht mehr außerhalb bei so einen guten Italiener gegessen!

Unser Besuch im Restaurant Piccolo Mondo letzte Woche war wirklich ein großartiges Erlebnis. Das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich und zuvorkommend, und die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm. Das Highlight war jedoch das Essen. Die Pizza war absolut phänomenal und zweifellos die beste in Heppenheim. Mein Mann und ich haben unser Abendessen hier wirklich genossen und werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr netter und schneller Service. Essen hervorragend vom Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Ich hatte Saltimbocca. Das Fleisch war gegrillt und hat wunderbar geschmeckt. Auf Sonderwünsche wird unkompliziert eingegangen.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant mit schöner Außenterrasse. Umfassende Auswahl an guten Gerichten, für uns etwas Öl lastig.

Gestern waren wir spontan am Abend im Restaurant eingekehrt. Trotz das es voll war, wurde schnell ein Tisch für uns gefunden. Das Personal war super freundlich und hat uns schnell bedient. Die Getränke und auch die Speisen kamen sehr schnell bei uns an. Das Essen war wahnsinnig lecker und wir haben uns sehr gefreut wieder bei Picolo Mondo einen Tisch bekommen zu haben.

Das Essen war sehr gut, der Service nett,aber von selber Fragen nach Getränkewünschen fand nicht statt....Wir saßen draußen auf der Terrasse neben der Tür....diese wurde von den Gästen so weit aufgestoßen, dass Sie gegen unseren Tisch knallte und wir die Getränke gerade noch retten konnten.....und das mehrmals....vlt. macht man dort mal eine Sperre hin

Sehr leckeres italienisches Essen. Das Personal ist auch sehr freundlich.Leider bekamen wir keinen Tisch mehr im Freien weil wir nicht reserviert hatten. Da das Lokal aber ohnehin sehr gut besucht war,hatten wir Glück überhaupt noch einen Tisch zu bekommen. Also auf jeden Fall reservieren.

Essen, Service, Ambiente und Atmosphäre super. Die vielleicht beste Pizza im Umkreis. Auch Fleisch und Pastagerichte sind spitze.

Ich wollte eine Pizza mit Ananas und der Mann am Telefon meinte „sowas führen wir nicht“. Als ich jedoch meine vegetarische Pizza bekam, habe ich KAROTTEN gefunden !!!! Das ist ein echtes No Go. Ananas > Karotten

Wir haben das schöne piccolo MONDO für eine Firmenfeier ausgesucht und waren alle sehr zufrieden. Ob Pizza, Nudeln oder Salat… jeder war positiv überrascht und hat Komplimente geäußert. Es gab keine langen Wartezeiten, trotz vollen Räumlichkeiten. Die Bedienungen waren sehr nett und fleißig und man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Immer eine gute Wahl und sehr empfehlenswert ;)

Ein gemütlicher Tisch, sehr leckeres und vor allem qualitativ sehr gutes Essen sowie eine ausgesprochen warmherzige Bedienung haben den Abend unvergesslich schön für uns als Familie gemacht. Der Seeteufel war köstlich, das Steak hervorragend und die Lasagne genau so, wie sie sein soll, einfach nur lecker. Der Wein hat bestens zum jeweiligen Essen gepasst. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt, vielen Dank dafür!

Das Piccoli Mondo in Heppenheim, ist das heimliche Pendant zu Helmut Dietls Film „Rossini“. Das Essen ist gut, das Publikum gehoben. Es werden Freundschaften geschlossen, Geschäfte gemacht und politische Welchen gestellt. Das who-is-who der Bergstraße gibt sich dort ein Stelldichein.

Leckeres Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Auch wenn die Heizung zu gut funktioniert, gerne hätte ich das Restaurant auch in meiner Stadt

Food was very good, I ordered the Tagliata di Rucola and Tiramisu and i I enjoyed the dishes a lot. Good service waitress was very nice. Only problem was there was no english menu. Definitely would’ve gotten 5 stars but not having a english menu ruins it:(

Wir gehen regelmäßig zum Essen, sehr zu empfehlen. Zu der großen Auswahl in der Speisekarte gibt es auch eine wechselnde Tageskarte. Freundliches Personal, innen und außen bestuhlt. Gut ist zu reservieren.

In Zeiten von Corona Höchstzahlen waren wir bei controlliertem 2G zum Abendessen im Piccolo Mondo. Es war noch früh,daher Sitzplätze weit auseinander. Netter Empfang mit Impfkontrolle. Super nette Bedienung. Entspannte Atmosphäre . In Zeiten von steigender Infektionszahlen sehr angenehm. Das Essen war super lecker und toll angerichtet. Iberikokottelet sehr zu empfehlen. Hygienekonzept mit Abstand wurde eingehalten. Wir fühlten uns sicher und gut betreut. 👍 Kommen sehr bald wieder. Allen Geimpften eine entspannte Zeit.

Bei der Spaghetti Carbonara meiner Frau war die Soße angebrannt, und meine Calzone war innen roh und außen verbrannt, dazu nicht übereinander geschlagen sondern „verknautscht“. Der Lugana Wein war mäßig. Da gibt es deutlich besseren. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besetzt und sicherlich hatte die Küche viel zu tun, davon sollten aber die Gäste nichts Negatives spüren! Da wir in Heppenheim nur einen Tag auf der Durchreise waren, wird es so schnell keine Notwendigkeit geben, ein Restaurant zu besuchen. Dieses aber auf keinen Fall wieder, es sei denn, der Koch ist inzwischen entlassen…

Dieses Lokal ist es wert, dass man es öfters besucht. Leckeren Wolfsbarsch gegessen mit Nudeln/Gemüse. Wir wurden sehr aufmerksam und freundlich bedient. Gemütliches Ambiente. Wir kommen wieder.

Déjeuner du 09/08/20, L'accueil est très pro, le serveur très sympa qui parle anglais. L'attente était relativement bien maîtrisée. Il n'y a par contre pas de menus en anglais. Une mention très spéciale pour l'entrée de gambas grillées ... un plat très simple mais alors exécuté avec brio ... on en redemanderai presque. Les plats étaient très bien faits aussi avec ds accompagnements variés dont des légumes ... si rare en Allemagne. Bonnes glaces. En conclusion: un des meilleurs italien que nous avons fait durant cette semaine de vacances 2020 en Allemagne.

At first glance this restaurant looked sparse from the street, but it extends back quite far and even has garden patio seating. The main room in the back turned out to be very busy. The staff were all friendly. There's a small list of wines by the glass, and the few we tried were nice. We loved the salad, and the pizza was delicious! I would definitely return!

Arguably one of the best restaurants here in the local area. Staff are most accommodating and welcoming and value for money is second to none. The only thing to watch is that a bottle of wine is a minimum of around €30. I had carpaccio of beef - gorgeous wit their home made bread. And my friend had a tagliatelle. This restaurant is busy most evenings so it’s advisable to book if you can. When we arrived at 9 PM we managed to grab the last table.

Invited relatives here for dinner following a recommendation by a friend. We were not disappointed with the ambiance , service or our main courses. The mixed Italian starter platter was less generous than expected for four persons. However, the main courses were excellent. Both wives enjoyed a delicious mixed fish dish while the husbands went for the speciality that evening of Argentine steak with Italian pasta and salad that was absolutely superb. The rose wine was good and the expresso grappa topped of the whole evening well.

Big selection of Italian food. Reasonable prices. Very friendly service. Summer garden. Parking in the backyard. In summer easy access for wheelchairs.

I loved it yet again. My personal favourite is the beef carpaccio starter. I was so looking forward to it when I made the reservation for the table! I also enjoyed a great pepperoni pizza. Staff were as ever helpful and pleasant. The only thing we did not like was that it was a Saturday night and the large room at the rear was roasting. The staff had no control over the temperature it would seem and this was the only thing to take away some of the enjoyment. The bill was €90 for four of us which included a bottle of wine. What I would say is that wines in this restaurant are particularly expensive, even when they are the basic house type.

The abundance of dithyrambic online reviews lead us to expect a fine evening at this reasonably-priced Italian. Unfortunately, this was not to be. The drinks came out a little late, but the real problem was that food service was so slow it was abnormal. I basically waited close to an hour and a half (after ordering time) for one spaghetti dish. This taken into account that we had reserved in advance, we were the first to arrive at the restaurant at the opening time, our dishes were only simple pizza and pasta mains (no oven dishes, risotto...), and the dishes at our table were served with large intervals, so it had nothing to do with waiting to serve it all at once. The restaurant was not near full capacity, either. We had to remind the staff about our order several times, without being offered an apology or a small compensation as is usual in such cases, but when we eventually did get the food I was (sadly) far from impressed. Although portion size was fine, the pasta was just a bit too hard (even though I like al dente), the sauce was passable but did not taste great, same for the seafood. I have had considerably better seafood pasta elsewhere (incl. Germany with similar price range), and could not finish my plate despite being quite hungry. I guess the staff were trying their best (waiters were running around actively)? Perhaps something went wrong in the kitchen and this is not usual, but I am sorry to say my experience is the food is nothing to write home about and you will need a Buddha's patience to be able to even get it.

Food is fine, and the family running the restaurant are very warm and helpful. The strange part is where they come to the table and insist that they are following the advice of their tax professional and therefore insist you must order a drink, even if you do not want one. So far we have not gone back due to this strange requirement to eat there.

Had dinner here a couple of nights whilst on business in Dec. 2016 and was not disappointed. Great food and great staff, highly recommended.

Such a lovely experience again here. The waitress is half Italian and German and I had a nice conversation with her. I had the seafood cocktail with smoked salmon starter - gorgeous ! Then the swordfish and pasta and veg (and salad bowl which is very German and actually not Italian) special was fabulous . It was €20 but worth every penny. The house red wine is only €3.50 a glass and delicious. Staff overall all nice and friendly and the menu offers great choice of not only Italian food. Great location in centre . Best Italian i have eaten at in a long time !

food was excellent, starter was light goat cheese with honey, main dish was steak exc cut and prepared and served with delicious potato and mediterranean dressed salad.

Four of us had superb authentic Italian dinners in is elegant, well laid out restaurant. The caprese salad and the rucola salad was top notch and fresh as was the apparently homemade minestrone soup. Excellent saltimboca and fine espresso doppio. They kindly brought a fine marsala for all of us after we finished paying. A wonderful experience overall.

Thursday fully booked. Excellent Italian food. 5 cooks iin the kitchen each with his/her speciality such as antipasto, pasta etc. Service a little slow.

Simply amazing honest Italian food. Bread with herbs and tomatoes as starter: perfect. Tagliata: almost perfect: a bit too much butter-taste. Probably the german influence. Very friendly service! I am often in Darmstadt: I think I will take the time to come back to this place!
