Il Gusto in Freiburg im Breisgau

We have tried flammchuchen once accidentally at a cafe in Utah. My son really liked it so we wanna tried it again when we are in Germany. Maybe the taste here is just its authentic taste although very different from what we tried at the Utah cafe. It's delicious but I just couldn't tell the nuance between flammchuchen and thin crust pizza.

The salami pizza was okay, average quality, but rather small. However, I think the price for the pizzas is excessive at €15 or more. The service wasn't particularly friendly either. I think there are better pizzerias in Freiburg.

Il Capitano Pippo is the perfect example of how excellent pizza can be made even in an electric oven. Admittedly, you have to be comfortable with the crowds and noise in the market halls during peak visitor times, and it's often not easy to find a seat. But if you just want to eat a damn good pizza in Freiburg, you should come here. Insider tip: They also serve a Lillet, prepared strictly according to the recipe, or even two ;-)

Great pizza, fresh from the oven. Not cheap, but delicious. A definite recommendation.

One of my favorite spots for a cup of tea & a nice little Pastry. As a tea drinker I appreciate that they have such nice tea

Their pizza looks delicious but I only got around to try one of their tarte flambées/flammkuchen. Not quite a traditional take on it but hey it's a pizzeria after all. Quite nice, thin and crusty and savoury in the pallete.
