Il Gabbiano in Augsburg

Die Pizza ist sehr gut. Leider kam mein Essen, nachdem meine Begleitung bereits gegessen hatte. Also gute 15 Minuten später.

Die Pizza Margarita und die Penne All’ Arrabiata waren Mega gut!!🤩

Unterirdisch! So ein gutes Restaurant vor einigen Jahren! Unser Erlebnis: Feiertag, bewölkt, ca. 16 Uhr einige Tische noch frei verfügbar. 4 Personen (Eltern mit zwei Kindern 5/6), nach 10 min. fragten wir höflich nach der Karte. Bestellung macht die Kollegin!? Kam auch nach weiteren 10 min. hat kurz gedauert, weil 1 kleiner Apfelsaft, 1 große Zitronenlimonade, 1 Lemon Soda und 0,2 grüner Veltliner gebühren höchste Aufmerksamkeit. Essen aufnehmen lieber mit den Getränken später, weil sonst kommt das Essen noch vor den Getränken, what? Hab's überhört. Weitere 15 min. kam auch schon alles, nur leider hat sie die große Zitronenlimonade vom Kleinen wieder mitgenommen...kommentarlos. Essen aufnehmen gleich, wenn sie mit der Limo nochmal kommt (die sie bereits in den Händen hielt)! Währenddessen aßen andere Gäste bereits, nachdem sie ihre Getränke bekamen, nachdem sie Essen bestellen konnten und auch noch nach uns kamen. Irgendwie sehr komisch alles betrachtet, aber gut. Die große Zitronenlimo kam leider nicht mehr! Als die Getränke leer waren, ging mein Mann rein zum Bezahlen! Haben anschließend unverschämt gute Pizzen beim Aposto (ca. 70m weiter) gegessen. Es ging unheimlich schnell. Toller Platz, die Kinder haben zum Malen bekommen (inkl. Kindermenü) und wir wurden so unglaublich schnell bedient. Hat sich dort mega gelohnt!

Der Service war sehr langsam, da zu wenig Personal da war, und wir mussten lange warten, bis unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Die Pasta war unterdurchschnittlich. Es war schön, draußen auf dem belebten Platz ein kaltes Bier zu trinken.

Essen war okay. Service leider komplett überfordert und pampig. Wartezeit für eine Pizza an einem Samstag Nachmittag +-45 Minuten. Pasta kam nach 5 Minuten vor den Getränken. Auf Nachfrage wann der vor 30 Minuten bestellte Aperol kommt: "Wir haben noch andere Gäste". Joa... Wir werden nicht mehr kommen.

Ein wunderschönes Restaurant mit unglaublich leckerem Essen. Man merkt sofort, mit wie viel Liebe und Qualität hier gekocht wird. Jedes Gericht war perfekt abgestimmt, frisch und voller Geschmack. Dazu ein sehr herzlicher Service und eine Atmosphäre, in der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Ein Ort zum Genießen – wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Lecker Weizen und Pizza in Augsburg

Nettes Ambiente, super liebes Personal und toller Chef! Luca ist der beste!!! Die Pizza Ricotta Spinachi ist mein klarer Favorit. Schon fast die ganze Speisekarte probiert, bisher alles 10/10! Sehr empfehlenswert.

Ein wahrer Geheimtipp in der Nachbarschaft – dieses familiengeführte italienische Restaurant bietet nicht nur köstliche, herzhafte Küche, sondern auch eine lebendige und einladende Atmosphäre vom ersten Moment an. Der Inhaber ist außergewöhnlich kommunikativ und kümmert sich aufrichtig um das Wohlbefinden jedes einzelnen Gastes, was dem Restaurant eine herzliche und persönliche Note verleiht. Die Stimmung ist lebhaft und gleichzeitig gemütlich, sodass sich hier jeder wohlfühlt – von jungen Paaren und Freundesgruppen bis hin zu Familien und älteren Gästen. Ein wunderbares Beispiel dafür, wie Gastfreundschaft sich anfühlen sollte.

Ganz schrecklich. Ich denke es ist ein Restaurant um sich zu zeigen anders kann ich mir es nicht erklären. Als Italienerin habe ich schon lang nicht mehr so eine schlechte Pizza gegessen. Der Salat mit Tunfisch sah aus wie ein Beilagensalat in einem mittelklassigen Restaurant hat trotzdem 18€ gekostet. Der Kellner am Schluss (groß mit Zopf) war jedoch sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Nur leider lässt das das Essen auch nicht besser schmecken.

Wollte kurz einen wirklich schnellen Cafe trinken, wurde im schlechten deutsch gebeten zu gehen. Nur Essen, sorry....hätte mich auch an die Bar gestellt oder wohin auch immer man hier in einem italienischen Café einen Café trinken darf. Aber so was geht nicht, auch nicht an einem Heimspieltag....

Leider ein wirklich unangenehmes Erlebnis im Il Gabbiano. Der Service war extrem unfreundlich und überheblich. Meine EC-Karte wurde dort aus irgendeinem Grund abgelehnt, obwohl sie in jedem anderen Geschäft problemlos funktioniert. Deshalb musste ich notgedrungen mit Kreditkarte zahlen und wusste den PIN nicht sofort auswendig. Der Mann hinter der Bar reagierte darauf total genervt, knallte mir regelrecht das Kartengerät hin und ließ einen spüren, dass man unerwünscht ist. Als ich den PIN dann gefunden hatte, wurde ich trotzdem weiter bedrängt, doch einfach mit Apple Pay zu bezahlen. Zusätzlich wurde ich noch belehrt, dass „irgendwas mit der Bank nicht funktioniert“ – was mich als Kunde ehrlich gesagt überhaupt nicht interessiert. Ich wollte einfach ganz normal mit EC-Karte bezahlen und sehe es nicht als mein Problem an, wenn deren System Karten nicht richtig annimmt. Das Essen im Il Gabbiano war geschmacklich gut und die Zubereitung ging auch schnell. Allerdings waren die Portionen für den Preis eher wenig. So ein Verhalten gegenüber zahlenden Gästen geht gar nicht. Essen hin oder her – wegen des respektlosen und arroganten Services komme ich definitiv nicht wieder.

2 Sterne Die Pizza war wirklich sehr lecker und geschmacklich nichts auszusetzen. Dafür gibt es den zweiten Stern. Leider war der Service eine komplette Enttäuschung. Wir mussten ewig auf unsere Getränke warten und noch länger, bis überhaupt jemand kam, um unsere Essensbestellung aufzunehmen. Besonders unangenehm war das Verhalten des Chefs: Er nahm direkt hinter uns an einem anderen Tisch ganz normal Bestellungen auf – inklusive Essen. Als ich ihn höflich fragte, ob wir dann auch bestellen könnten, kam nur die arrogante Antwort: „Wenn Zeit da ist!“ Dabei stand er direkt neben uns und hätte unsere Bestellung ohne Probleme gleich mit aufnehmen können. Unsere Getränke waren zu dem Zeitpunkt schon fast halb leer, so lange mussten wir warten. Die Pizza ist zwar lecker, aber bei Preisen von 13–17 € pro Pizza erwartet man auch einen angemessenen Service. Trinkgeld gab es selbstverständlich keines. Insgesamt leider eine große Enttäuschung.

Wir haben heute das Restaurant Il Gabbiano besucht und dabei leider eine äußerst unangenehme Erfahrung gemacht. Der Außenbereich war gut besucht und wir waren die ersten Gäste, die aktiv auf den Kellner zugegangen sind, um nach einem Tisch zu fragen. Er teilte uns mit, dass er nach einer Möglichkeit schaut. Während er sich im Innenbereich befand, wurde draußen ein Tisch frei, den wir daraufhin eigenständig besetzt haben. Kurz darauf trafen zwei weitere Gäste (zwei Mädels) ein, die den Kellner offenbar persönlich kannten. Zu unserem großen Unverständnis kam der Kellner anschließend zu uns und behauptete, diese beiden seien vor uns da gewesen, und forderte uns auf, den Tisch wieder zu räumen. Wir sind uns zu hundert Prozent sicher, dass wir zuerst da waren und die beiden erst im Nachhinein gekommen sind. Dieses Verhalten empfinden wir als äußerst unfair, respektlos und unprofessionell. Obwohl wir bereits im Gespräch mit dem Kellner waren und uns auf den frei gewordenen Tisch gesetzt hatten, wurde uns dieser wieder entzogen und stattdessen anderen Gästen überlassen – offenbar aufgrund persönlicher Bekanntschaft. Wenn man Gäste schon auffordert, ihren Platz zu verlassen, sollte dies zumindest ehrlich und transparent geschehen. In dieser Situation wirkte es jedoch so, als würde eine offensichtlich falsche Begründung vorgeschoben werden. Wir sind sehr verärgert über diese Behandlung und erwarten, dass alle Gäste gleich und fair behandelt werden – unabhängig von persönlichen Beziehungen zum Personal. Wir werden dieses Restaurant definitiv nicht mehr besuchen.

Alle acht kalten Tiefkühlpizzen, die ich um 19:30 Uhr bestellt hatte, musste ich wegwerfen. Die Apfelpizzen waren um 18:00 Uhr zubereitet worden und schmeckten nicht.

Nette Einkehrmöglichkeit in der Innenstadt mit einem guten Außenbreich. Das Bier und Essen ist lecker, der Service in Ordnung.

Mitten in der Stadt. Kann man empfehlen.

Waren eine Gruppe von 19 Leuten. Konnten an einem Samstag Mittag spontan vorbeikommen. 19 einzelne Bestellungen, 19 extra Wünsche, 19 einzelne Bezahlungen. Die Bedienung war sehr höflich, das Essen war schnell da und das Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis war auch gut.

Ich gehe seit vielen Jahren ins Il Gabbiano und bin jedes Mal begeistert. Ich kenne die Inhaber persönlich – man spürt sofort die Herzlichkeit und die familiäre Atmosphäre. Die Pizza ist überragend, die Pasta ebenso hervorragend. Dazu ist die Stimmung immer toll und lebendig. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die gutes italienisches Essen und eine besondere Atmosphäre schätzen!

Waren gestern Abend wiederholt dort. Die Pasta (Spaghetti) von der Tageskarte mit Wildschweinbolognese war köstlich .Nudeln al dente gekocht und heiss angerichtet. Die Pizza war auch sehr lecker. Ein Lob an den Koch und vielen Dank. Servicepersonal immer sehr freundlich und nett, man fühlt sich dort sehr wohl. Kann ich nur empfehlen, die Küche ist etwas Besonderes!

Wahnsinnig leckere Pizza im Holzhofen gebacken. Der Teig schmeckt, der Belag ist top. Nicht zu dick, nicht zu dünn. Wirklich schon lange keine so schmackhafte Pizza gegessen! Das Tiramisu war etwas langweilig. Nicht schlecht, aber nicht der Knaller wie die Pizza. Der Service war etwas träge und man musste oft etwas warten. Die Preise sind in Ordnung für die Qualität und auch das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Freue mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch. Absolute Pizza Empfehlung.

Sehr gute Pizza und Pastaauswahl, die überlass übliche weit hinausgeht. Gut belegte und knusprige Pizza von ordentlicher Größe. Beilagensalat ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. Der alte Il Gabiano war besser am Gast. Schwachpunkt ist hier der langsame Getränkeservice. Es ist eng gestuhlt. Die Preise sind mittlerweile ambitioniert, es gibt aber in jeder Kategorie echte Schnapper wie zum Beispiel die Pizza mit Rindersalami für 12,5€ oder das Mittagmenü, letzteres muss man erfragen, da nicht offen beworben. Eine Empfehlung.

Das Il Gabbiano ist eine Konstante in der Augsburger Gastronomie. Dank der Familie Babic. Die Qualität der Speisen ist gut, hervorzuheben sind die Pizzen. Note 1. Im Lokal selbst mag der Geräuschpegel mitunter etwas laut sein, wobei dies sicherlich zu verschmerzen ist. Ein Plus: Im Sommer sind die Plätze draußen nahezu sensationell. Bestes Lebensgefühl inmitten der Stadt.

Das Essen ist super lecker, sowohl die Pizza als auch die Pasta. Große Empfehlung :)

Super Essen, super lecker. Gute Getränke. Beim Kartezahlen wäre leider ich fast abgezockt worden: am Gerät zeigte es bereits den Preis inkl (!!) 15% Trinkgeld an. Ich hätte von 24,50€ auf 30€ nochmals aufgerundet und damit über 9,50€ Trinkgeld gegeben (Preis ohne Trinkgeld wäre 21€ gewesen). Bitte in Zukunft immer den Preis ohne Trinkgeld anzeigen!

Hallo zusammen wer einen Leckeren Fischeintopf essen möchte ist hier gerade richtig total lecker so viele unterschiedliche Zutaten wirklich fantastisch jeder Löffel ein Genuss

Unfortunately, some of the food isn't what it used to be a few months ago. The vegetables, as an extra or side dish, are now always overcooked and colorless. They used to be colorful and crisp. I can't understand why they've ruined something good after all these years. Vegetables with burrata... for the last few months, they've been in a Thai curry coconut sauce. What's the point? Am I in Asia now? Then just call it Thai vegetable curry with burrata, so customers know what to expect. And they're closed on Wednesdays now? Staff shortage? A sign of decline?

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Il Gabbiano in Augsburg and was delighted with the quality of the pizza and the friendly service. The pizza was perfectly baked and had delicious toppings. The service was very attentive and courteous. The restaurant itself is simply and stylishly furnished and has a pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I was there last week and had such a wonderful evening with Mia, Milan, and Alessandro. Everyone was very attentive and provided friendly service. I would definitely come back. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Excellent service and very delicious food.

We celebrated a birthday here and were absolutely delighted. The team surprised us with a beautiful dessert, complete with a sparkler – a truly wonderful touch! Both the waiters and the owner were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Thank you so much for the fantastic service and the wonderful evening!

This place is fantastic! Viviane and Sophie's service is absolutely top-notch! The restaurant industry needs people like them: discreet yet courteous, thorough, attentive but not silly, authentically honest, graceful with a touch of wonderful elegance – what a statement! I find the food simply wonderful and sometimes quite special, especially the dishes not on the menu; today it's the homemade sauerkraut roll. Karlo is doing a great job too, even though it's only his second day. I'll definitely be back; Augsburg and its people are simply beautiful!

Five of us got a seat without a reservation on a Saturday at lunchtime; the pizza and pasta were great.

Unfortunately, as a single person, I wasn't assigned a table, even though there were plenty of seats available. I was in Augsburg for business and just wanted dinner.

The pizza was very, very good. Nice and crispy and juicy. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the tomato sauce was also very good. For dessert, there was tiramisu. One of the best I've had in a restaurant. The service was very friendly, and you didn't have to wait long. Highly recommended.

Great food and even better staff

I was unfortunately very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. I ordered a 4-cheese pizza topped with a strange, foamy cream cheese that tasted completely unpleasant—it almost made me sick. I've never experienced anything like that on a pizza before, and in my opinion, it doesn't belong on a 4-cheese pizza. Therefore, I couldn't eat the part with that cheese. Even worse, however, was an observation I made during the service: A companion of mine had just taken a sip from her glass of Spezi. While she was briefly away from her seat, the waiter took the glass away and—instead of properly disposing of it—gave it to another guest at a distant table. The waiter most likely didn't notice that someone had already drunk from it, but that doesn't make it any less unacceptable. A new Spezi was placed for my companion, but that doesn't change the fact that her already used glass was passed on. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience, neither with the food nor the service. I definitely won't be coming back and can't recommend the restaurant.

We've been here a few times now with our 2-year-old daughter. The owner is very friendly, the service is fast, the pizza is delicious, the drinks are good, and the kids are very friendly. We love it.

First you are only allowed to order your drink, then you are forgotten and guests who arrived later already have something to eat.

I ordered Pasta Wildragu and it was delicious! I was looking for pizza, which looks great, but I think this was better. I can't get enough dessert, and the coffee is very good. Very pleasant atmosphere with Italian music playing in the background. Some stools can be a little uncomfortable, but it's fine.

We had a young, energetic, and friendly waiter. Everything came quickly, was fresh, and incredibly delicious.

This pizzeria is dangerous—after the first bite, you'll seriously consider selling your kitchen on eBay. The pizza and pasta were freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and served to perfection. The service was attentive, friendly, and pleasantly unobtrusive—you immediately feel welcome here. And the best part: despite the prime location, you don't pay with a kidney, but with completely fair prices.

I like the pleasant atmosphere at Il Gabbiano. It's very centrally located in Augsburg's city center, with good tram connections to the train station or Rathausplatz. The Italian ambiance really comes across here. I'd like to try the homemade stone-baked pizza soon; so far, I've only ordered drinks, which were very good. 🍸

I ordered a Regina pizza there today. They said you can pick it up in 10 minutes. I thought, great. I went there and picked it up, and when I got home in five minutes, it was already cold. How does that happen? Does the chef have a bad sense of time, or is the oven not working properly? I mean, the pizza looked good and tasted good, but it was cold and not crispy. I wouldn't necessarily call it "the best pizza in town." Maybe they should give a 15-minute wait for pickup orders in the future, so they can let the pizza crisp up nicely in the oven for at least 10 minutes...

We visited the restaurant last Sunday and were greeted very warmly by everyone. There was a short wait before we could order our drinks, and we also had to wait a bit longer for the bill. However, we enjoyed the food very much.

We were at the Wine Street Festival yesterday and wanted to go out for some delicious food and drinks. When we entered the restaurant with our empty wine glasses (which were a deposit, after all), the waitress refused us entry because we had the glasses with us. I can't understand that.

We were only there to eat a tiramisu that wasn't on the menu. When the tiramisu arrived, we wanted to eat it, but there was a hair in it. After I asked for a new one, the waiter went to smoke a cigarette and then chat with his colleagues. When another colleague came over, I asked again. Again, no apology, just "I'll bring you a new one." The tiramisu was eaten with four spoons and, at €6/€6.50, was completely overpriced, but the taste was okay.

The ambiance outside is generally very nice, but the sticky table, the lack of attention to additional bread, oil, vinegar, pepper, or salt, and unfortunately the quality of the otherwise very good food was disappointing. We hope that things will improve again...

One of the best pizzas we've ever eaten. Great, attentive service, drinks were wonderfully chilled, and the dessert was delicious too. The pizza may be a bit(!) more expensive than at other restaurants, but it's absolutely worth the quality. Drinks and dessert were actually quite inexpensive, so overall, the value for money is excellent.

We went to IlGabiano again last week. It was a good thing we had a reservation, as it was quite busy. We were quickly assigned a table, but after a short while, we were asked if we could move because a larger group was expected. This wasn't a problem for us, as we hadn't even ordered yet. The food and wine were excellent, as always. After dinner, the waiter brought us a free dessert because we had moved. It wasn't necessary at all, but it was a very nice gesture. Everyone who served us was super friendly, despite the busyness. We would definitely return next time we're in Augsburg.

We waited 30 minutes for drinks. When we asked for a drink, we were loudly insulted instead of apologizing. Slow and rude is not a good combination... The pizza, at least, was very tasty.

Anyone looking for the best pizza in town is guaranteed to find it here. The dough is perfect, the ingredients fresh and flavorful – a culinary experience reminiscent of a vacation in Italy. The warm service is particularly noteworthy. This authentic hospitality creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The quality of the food is also impressive. Whether pizza, pasta, or antipasti – everything is prepared with love and tastes like authentic Italian cuisine. The ambiance benefits from its central location and offers a pleasant blend of urban flair and Mediterranean charm. With a few additional green plants such as olive trees or other Mediterranean plants, the Mediterranean feel could be further emphasized – a small suggestion for improvement for an otherwise thoroughly successful concept.

Pizza, die ohne Tomatensoße gebracht wurde. Wir waren schon viele Male dort. Heute habe ich meine Pizza ohne Tomatensoße erhalten. Als ich dies bemängelte wurde mir kalte Tomatensoße angeboten. Als ich beim bezahlen nochmals darauf hingewiesen habe meinte die Chefin nur, wenn man die Pizza knusprig bestellt kommt weniger Belag darauf. Ok das sollte einem gesagt werden. Sie meinte nur, das ich beim nächsten Mal einfach einen normale Pizza bestellen sollte. Da ist man fassungslos. Keine Entschuldigung, nichts. Geht man so mit Stammgästen um? Ich denke nicht. Wir werden nicht mehr kommen.

Dear team, I would like to give you a short feedback on our visit on May 2nd, 2025. We were told by a waiter that we could order one last round. Unfortunately, no one came to our table for about 20 minutes. When we finally spoke to another waiter, we were told that it was now too late and that nothing more would be served. Meanwhile, other guests were still getting drinks. What was particularly disappointing was that the waiter who had promised us the last round didn't come to see us. When we finally spoke to him directly, he reacted very rudely, gave no explanation or apology but made a dismissive gesture with his hand, which we found to be disrespectful and condescending. Overall, this was very disappointing for us as we had waited extra. I would like to give you this as constructive feedback because we have actually really appreciated your restaurant so far and would like the service to be better coordinated and more respectful in the future. So there were nine of us and the first three pizzas arrived 20 minutes apart from the remaining five. So it wasn't possible to eat together, which was a shame.

We recently visited this restaurant and were impressed with the service. The waiters were friendly and ensured our food was served quickly. However, the pizza I ordered was disappointing and did not meet my expectations. However, my wife's dish was fine and she enjoyed it. Overall it was a pleasant evening, but I'm hoping for an improvement with the pizza.

As a regular guest, I can particularly recommend the Bressaola and Pollo alla Griglia as my favorite dishes! Otherwise, you will feel like you are in good hands with any special request from the service. Clear heartfelt recommendation for Augsburg!

The food was okay, but the service was very disappointing. It took forever until we were allowed to order and then the food came before the drinks and even these weren't properly absorbed. When we recommended the daily menu, we were given incorrect supplements and when we were finally able to pay, we didn't even receive an invoice. So the whole evening was very frustrating for us.

On Thursday evening we had to wait an extremely long time for the drinks (which only came after the second reminder), then for our starter and then for the main course. The waiter was sitting with his friends at the front of the restaurant, the waitress seemed new and was unfortunately extremely overwhelmed with the situation of a full house. The food was good, the service absolutely improved.

The service was really good and the food was on the table quickly. However, the pizzas we ordered were less good: my Calabrese clearly didn't have salsiccia, but rather salame piccante or just chorizo. My wife's pizza used the cheapest frozen spinach, which was even cold. On top of that, there was a decent amount of analogue cheese on both pizzas. Not okay for the price.
