The food was very, very tasty, and the service was super fast, friendly, and courteous. It only gave it 4 stars for ambience because, in my opinion, the background music didn't suit this type of restaurant.

Hello! I came across this restaurant in honor of my birthday. We booked a table and arrived at 5:30 PM. It turns out we sat there for 2 hours. I will deny the previous reviews that were written before this. 1. No one was going to kick us out after 2 hours of stay, and no one looked at us strangely as they wrote in the reviews. 2. The order was ready in 15-20 minutes (we ordered 3 rolls). 3. The service is perfect, and there were no problems with the table and the reservation. There was only one minus, which is that the prices are not signed in the menu (it is in the book that is given to the table). In general, you can see the prices in this program. If you are somewhere in Leipzig, you can safely go here. The sushi was delicious, but unfortunately they don't give ice until when 🥲. That's all, but still the main problem is the menu.

2022: Really delicious. The prices have gone up considerably (sushi platter for two from €38 to €52). The quality is good, though, which isn't what you'd think from the outside. We'll definitely be back! Great evening and really delicious! Update 2025: Prices are now very difficult in some places. The sushi platter for two is no longer advertised as such (possibly €60), but there's a platter (meal) for €55 per person. The rest is fine, but the price is really over the top. A shame.

We tried Ikigai today and will definitely be back. We haven't had such high-quality sushi in a long time. The service was excellent, and nothing was lacking. Parking is a bit difficult, but that doesn't matter.

I had mostly sushi. The nori sheets were a bit tough, maybe I should try a different kind. A little more rice in the maki would have been good. But overall, the fish was top quality and everything was delicious.

Very chic Japanese restaurant. Food can be seen as being very good both visually and in terms of taste! So far I haven't found anything that I didn't like. Very fresh ingredients there is even dry aged meat and a sushi burger Drinks are also recommended. Service is very nice and tries to fulfill all wishes if possible.

We now eat here regularly and are always very satisfied. Friendly staff, delicious food. Reservations are confirmed quickly, and they even send you a reminder.

Ordered twice, and never again. THE most unreasonably overpriced restaurant ever. The quality is the same and sometimes lower than other sushi restaurants, which, however, cost much less (I love sushi and have tried all the good restaurants in Leipzig). And the only restaurant I've ever seen in my life that has a ridiculous minimum order value of 90 euros (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) on Lieferando. 90! Who do they think they are, the king's bosses? And the service is one of the most customer-unfriendly I've ever experienced. ZERO goodwill, ZERO flexibility, and usually quite rude on the phone. I'd rather have a few less fish varieties elsewhere, but reasonable value and good service. Besides, 90 euros for a meal? Even if the quality and service were better (and they are NOT), it would be ridiculous. Nah. Never again.

I came across the restaurant because of all the positive reviews. Both the service and the ambience were excellent. Even the toilets were very clean. Parking spaces are rather difficult to find. I recommend the parking lot at Rewe, but you can only park there for 1.5 hours. Now let's get to dinner. The food I had with my companions was great. However, mine was mediocre. I had the one with the seafood and rice. In my opinion the rice was tasteless, which I found very unfortunate. A waiter told us that he tends to recommend sushi here because they specialize in it. Nevertheless, all dishes should be suitable if it is offered. Unfortunately for me it's only a 6 out of 10. Nevertheless, I would eat here again and order something different next time. To summarize again: Recommended for sushi lovers, I can't say for sure about the rest. I'd love to come back to try it again.

Very tasty sushi! We were completely satisfied. It was so delicious that we raved about it for days afterwards. We will definitely come back!

The warm meals are so bad that it makes me actually laugh (I've eaten there twice). I saw them pour beer from a bottle and use a spoon to froth the beer to make it look like it's from the tap. And the sushi was just ok. Tasted ok, but was not nicely rolled and they were a bit small. All this for a pretty high price. I think the beautiful restaurant and high prices are very convincing for many people but there's a better place in Gohlis and another good place on Gottschiedstr.

The salmon was super tasty, as was the beef – nice and tender and tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. Gladly again 🥰

We were here as a family with our two children. We liked the beautiful ambience, the friendly staff and, above all, the delicious food. Our ten year old loved the tom kha gai soup and the older daughter loved the sushi :)

I was invited here for dinner. Since I follow a vegan diet, I looked at the menu in advance and was confident that I could eat something here. On site I asked the waitress whether the vegetarian ramen was also vegan. The waitress seemed annoyed by my question, briefly went into the kitchen and said yes, so I ordered. However, the broth was clearly meat based. Therefore only one star. I can't comment further on the other dishes. Everything looked good. However, my acquaintances found that the quality had significantly decreased and they would not come here again.

First of all: The place is worth it for the sushi! They're very good at it, but it's certainly worth the price. Everything else is really not good, let alone authentic. We were a larger group and everyone had different dishes. Like the bulgogi, for example: A quick Google search explains the dish as "spicy marinated, thinly sliced, seared beef." We basically got boiled meat with vegetables. It tasted good, but had nothing to do with the dish itself. But the worst thing was the mentaiko spaghetti. It was supposed to be something like a fishy carbonara, I guess. The noodles were completely soft-boiled, and a huge amount of oil collected at the bottom of the plate. I complained to the server about this, saying it didn't taste good at all. There wasn't much of a reaction. The ramen was so-so, and the kimichi stew was extremely spicy. All in all, it wasn't all that well-rounded, and given the prices, it was a bitter disappointment. If dishes aren't really good or well-made, maybe you shouldn't offer them. So either get sushi or don't go.

Worst delivery service in Leipzig. Waiting times of more than 2 hours are the rule here. So if you want to waste your time waiting for food, this is the place for you. I called specifically to see how long it would take. I was told it would be faster today. After 2 hours still no delivery. It's disgraceful how customers are treated here. I will NEVER order here again. The prices do not correspond to the standard.

Four years ago full stars as my favorite restaurant. We haven't been there as often now because it's simply become too expensive. (At least the price-performance ratio is no longer correct) However, we recently ordered frames. They were a joke, there were hardly any vegetables in them and the meat was like rubber - but almost €20 per portion... It's a shame that things have slowed down so much here.

We ate there once about a year ago. We were very excited at the time. Unfortunately not this time. We ordered sushi for two again, extra miso soup and seaweed salad (makame). The makis were like rubber, with a sauce over the rest, which I unfortunately don't like. The soy sauce was very watery and the sashimi didn't taste like anything. The hit was the wasabi: a consistency of dry dough and very crumbly. The miso soup wasn't good either. Our friend had a dry aged entrècote, which wasn't good quality. Without mentioning this, we were offered to only pay half for it. We thought that was very nice. Service again very attentive and friendly.

Usually the sushi here is really great. However, this time it was a complete disaster. - The sushi wasn't ready at pickup time - I had to wait another 50 minutes until I got it - The sushi was not cut properly and it was torn apart - There were bones in the fish - Fish was not cleanly separated from the skin - Service made false time promises several times

I had the pleasure of having dinner at Ikigai Restaurant with two friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our dining experience began with a variety of sushi variations that were perfect in every way. I would particularly like to highlight the incredibly tasty salmon sashimi as well as the shrimp and tuna, which were impressive in both taste and freshness. The presentation of the food was extremely appealing and whetted your appetite just by looking at it. For the main course, my friends chose ramen, which not only tasted great but was also served in a visually appealing way. The drinks included, among other things, a homemade matcha iced tea and various fruit juices - all of excellent quality and perfectly balanced in taste. The ambience of the restaurant was another highlight: modern and stylishly decorated, it created a pleasant atmosphere that further enriched our evening. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and responded flexibly to our requests, which rounded off the service perfectly. Overall, our visit to Ikigai was a thoroughly successful experience that I can fully recommend. Whether for dinner with friends or a special culinary experience - this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Really not recommended, a superficially renovated shop in which there is so much draft through the windows that some customers have put on their jackets. The food is below average and the prices are way too high. The wines are also below average.

I had the pleasure of dining at the *Quality Outstanding* restaurant and it was an all around fantastic experience! Japanese cuisine here is prepared with such precision and attention to detail that every bite is a delight. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, which is reflected in the intensity and taste of each dish. Particularly noteworthy are the sushi creations, which are not only a visual masterpiece, but also taste great. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming and cozy. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

I've been going to the restaurant for years. The food is delicious but unfortunately the price-performance ratio in Ikigai gets worse. It was really good at the beginning but I just think the prices are excessive.

This evening we ordered online again from Ikigai. Two ducks with rice and grilled potatoes. Since we were always very satisfied, we were looking forward to the food. Unfortunately, the disappointment was very great. In contrast to before (approx. 1 year) the portions were very minimal and moderate in taste. And that for 57 euros. We were very annoyed and will no longer order from Ikigai.

Prices are high, but that is to be expected. The quality and quantity of the food is absolutely top class. Service and the employees there were absolutely top. I would come back without thinking for a second.

Alles vom Ambiente über die Aufmachung der Speisen bis zum Geschmack ist hier fantastisch. Ich war schon öfter hier und war immer begeistert. Es gibt eine riesige Auswahl an allen möglichen Sushi- u. ä. Gerichten, welche aber für mich, neben der teilweise spektakulären Aufmachung, gar nicht so interessant sind. Und dennoch ist es mein Lieblings-Restaurant, da ich nirgendwo anders je eine bessere Ente mit Curry bekommen habe. Die Preise sind schon gehobener, aber ein Besuch im Ikigai ist es immer für mich wert.

We always loved going to Ikigai. The food, the service and the ambience were just right and you overlooked the expensive prices. But when many dishes (except sushi) start at 20 euros, I also expect top service! This also includes staff who speak good German and explain dishes and new concepts. Neither was available to us! Unfortunately, the food didn't taste as good to us as it did back then and we also asked ourselves what justified the prices

Was there for the second time now and once again I have nothing to complain about. The food is of great quality, fresh and of course really tasty. The furnishings are also very suitable and make you feel really comfortable. The employees are very friendly and respond to requests/requests. We were also asked once during the meal if everything was OK, which was completely sufficient for me. All in all a very nice and delicious restaurant.

A year ago I wrote a 5-star review here. We were there today and were very disappointed. After the change, portions have become smaller, prices have risen rapidly and service has become significantly worse. I understand that it is more of a fine dining experience. But not that exclusive either. Part of the card had the heading "Pon and Bowl", a bowl was shown as a picture on the card, but no Pon; we thought a pon was a dish similar to a bowl. So with lots of different ingredients, but it was just a heap of rice with some salmon on top. Sure, it was in a large bowl, but that didn't help the size of the dish. And that for 22€! When we complained, we were informed that this was exactly what it said on the menu. After a long discussion, we were offered some sushi as compensation. Still had to pay the full price. Back then, with ramen you could still choose the broth, and there was more in it, very nicely prepared. This time it seemed as if it had been thrown in. You ask yourself, if a concept works, why change it?

Hochhaus surpasses all other restaurants! From the friendly “Hello” to the warm “Goodbye” everything was a smooth 11/10. I've been to countless restaurants in many cities, but this one is perfection personified. The incredibly friendly, friendly and professional service immediately makes you feel welcome and respected! There was not a single detail, no matter how small, that spoiled my experience. There's not much to say about the food - after the first bite I was simply speechless. Again and again: It was simply wonderful.

Fine restaurant where service is really important. That was very pleasant. The portions seem small, but are filling. The food was good. I would have liked it to be a little spicier, but I'm also a spicy lover. The only negative thing was the caviar with the salmon don, which wasn't part of it at all, but soaked all the rice. Wir waren bereits mehrmals im Ikigai und haben die Qualität des Sushis sowie das stimmungsvolle Ambiente stets geschätzt. Umso größer war die Enttäuschung bei unserem letzten Besuch, der von Anfang bis Ende eine Katastrophe war. Der Abend begann mit einer unprofessionellen Änderung unserer Reservierung: Nur wenige Stunden vor dem eigentlichen Termin wurden wir informiert, dass unsere Tischreservierung um ganze zwei Stunden nach hinten verschoben werden müsse – ohne Entschuldigung oder ein alternatives Angebot. Bereits hier zeigte sich, dass das Personal offenbar überfordert war. Nach langem Warten wurden wir dann endlich zu einem Tisch geführt, der sich jedoch bald als unbrauchbar herausstellen sollte. Die Herrentoilette war defekt, und Wasser lief ungehindert in den Gastraum bis hin zu unserem Tisch. Eine wirklich unangenehme Situation. Nach unserem Hinweis wurden wir schließlich an einen anderen Tisch gesetzt, der jedoch ein neues Problem mit sich brachte: Dieser Bereich war nur schwach oder gar nicht beleuchtet, sodass wir unser Essen kaum sehen konnten. Zum Sushi selbst: Die Qualität, die beim Sushi an oberster Stelle stehen sollte, ließ stark zu wünschen übrig. Die Gerichte wirkten lieblos und schienen nachlässig zubereitet. Besonders enttäuschend war der „Sushi Burger“, der in einem fettigen Zustand serviert wurde, mit einem Belag, der kaum der Rede wert war. Hier war weder Kreativität noch Qualität zu erkennen. Als wir das Personal darauf hinwiesen, dass die Qualität des Essens diesmal völlig enttäuschend war, bekamen wir lediglich ein knappes „Das ist schade“ zu hören. Keine Entschuldigung, keine Lösung, kein Angebot zur Wiedergutmachung – nichts, was auch nur ansatzweise die Professionalität eines gut geführten asiatischen Restaurants widerspiegeln würde. Die Mitarbeiter wirkten insgesamt überfordert. Selbst grundlegende Dinge wie Sojasauce wurden erst auf Nachfrage bereitgestellt. Für all das haben wir insgesamt rund 100 Euro gezahlt – für zwei Suppen als Vorspeise, zwei Hauptgerichte und zwei Getränke. Angesichts der schlechten Qualität des Essens, des mangelhaften Service und der organisatorischen Probleme grenzt dies an eine Frechheit. Wir werden diesem Restaurant in Zukunft definitiv fernbleiben und können es unter diesen Umständen nicht weiterempfehlen.

The food was a delight and the service was at least as good.

Was one of our favorite restaurants for years. But the menu has changed. twice as expensive but the quality of the food is the same or worse. Our favorite dishes have disappeared from the new menu.

We always enjoyed coming to this restaurant. We were surprised that it was so empty. The concept has been changed. There is only Japanese cuisine. Very expensive, the sushi rolls are small and poorly rolled. You could barely grasp them with chopsticks and they fell apart. The Hourenso I ordered (8 small vegetarian rolls for €14) were unfortunately topped with frozen leaf spinach, which didn't make a difference in terms of taste but unfortunately didn't look that nice. Of course you won't get full from it. Upon request, we wanted a record that could be freely put together according to our wishes. This is impossible and you could only order the plates from the menu. It's a shame and very inflexible. All in all, the price doesn't match the offer, there are much better sushi places. Too bad, that was our last visit.

After I was in Leipzig to view an apartment, I found the restaurant on Google and we just managed to get a table. The staff was super friendly and the food was very, very tasty. I would like to come back on my next visit to Leipzig.

We are simply horrified: hard grilled potatoes and raw broccoli paired with hot green chili peppers (without warning) really spoiled our evening.

It is a beautiful restaurant, it has two environments. For summer it is excellent to eat outside 🤍. It has a wide range of delicious Asian dishes. If you want to have a romantic dinner, or celebrate your birthday, this is the ideal place, I recommend it.

We've been coming here once a year for four years and always think it's great. The food is excellent and freshly prepared. The service was very attentive and courteous. Only the plants on the windowsill could use a little more care.

Food was good, ambience only if you're there on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and you're also listening to oriental music and you want to walk through mountains of garbage on the way to the car!!! Therefore not recommended!

Now my favorite Asian restaurant in Schönefeld. Very good selection of food, I especially liked the starters, and the sushi is also pretty good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy, the outdoor seating area has been redesigned. Staff always friendly, toilets clean. Ordering and collection or delivery is also easy.
