A wonderful end to 2025. Our thanks to the entire team. A very special thank you to Maria, whom we have known for several decades. We would love to come back again.

I've been coming to ICI Steakhouse for over ten years now, and I don't know of any other place in the wider area (Mönchengladbach/Düsseldorf) where you can get the same quality steaks for a comparable, fair price. In this category, the steakhouse is truly unbeatable. However, on my last visit, and even beforehand, there were some minor issues with the service. Reservations are only accepted by phone, but it takes countless calls over several evenings because no one answers the phone. Adding another person to the reservation was a similar story, requiring multiple attempts over several evenings. During the visit itself, it became apparent that the service for larger groups was exceptionally slow. We waited about 1.5 hours for our main course, while couples who had arrived at the same time as us left the restaurant. A larger group of six people at the opposite table waited even longer than we did. This is not what I've experienced at ICI, and I hope they recognize this as an area for improvement.

Update December 2025 Still... The Best!

The food was really delicious and the location itself was lovely, but we had to wait two hours for our food. One employee was very nice, but the others were incredibly unfriendly. It's a shame, really, because the food was fantastic, but I won't be going there again.

Reservations are absolutely necessary, unfortunately only possible by phone. Bedburg institution: Best steak cooked over a charcoal fire, great atmosphere, modern yet cozy. The service is very friendly, but they could use more staff to handle the large number of customers.

Simply fantastic! The steak was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. As always, very satisfied – highly recommended!

Awesome service Food was out of this world

Only upon arrival were we informed that the restaurant would be closed today due to numerous staff members and chefs being ill. The restaurant, of course, bears no responsibility for this. However, out of consideration for the staff, it would have been appropriate to inform guests of the closure by phone beforehand, especially since reservations are only accepted by telephone. At the very least, a notice on the website or via social media channels would have been appropriate. Guests with existing reservations would also be expected to cancel in a timely manner if they are unable to attend. For an established restaurant with a corresponding commitment to service and professionalism, such a situation is extremely frustrating for guests who are not local and have traveled a considerable distance, and it casts doubt on the restaurant's respect for its customers.

The Argentinian sirloin steak "Ami" has been my benchmark for over 30 years, and so far, it has never been overturned as a benchmark. Keep it up, please.👍

Best steakhouse in the area. The service is great, everyone is super friendly, and the owner is a really cool guy. I don't go to any other place. Business lunches, corporate events—they can do it all. Excellent advice is included. The meat is top quality and unparalleled in the region. My whole family has been going there for generations.

December 6, 2025. A unique, high-quality concept without any fuss. Down-to-earth, traditional, and modern. Friendly, service-oriented hospitality. They frequently check if you need anything else. Pleasant selection of dishes and drinks. They also have Altbier.

That's all well and good, but my friend got food poisoning from your food. A friend of his also had food poisoning there once before. Therefore, I cannot recommend this restaurant if you want to leave healthy.

Delicious steaks & beautiful ambience

We had a reservation for 9:30 pm because there was no earlier availability. We finally got a table at 10:00 pm. We ordered at 10:22 pm and waited an hour for our food. The blonde waitress was completely overwhelmed. We were charged for one Coke Zero too many, which we only noticed when we got home and saw the receipt. And if you want pepper on your steak, you have to pay 90 cents extra. Hello? I expect that on my steak for free. Sorry, but whatever, it's not a pleasant restaurant experience.

Great steak, but unfortunately I waited over an hour for it. The service was very unfriendly, except for one waitress. The table was bad, and despite requesting a different one, it wasn't possible. I won't be coming back!

Incredibly good steakhouse. I was there for a business meeting and was blown away in every way. From the pea salad to the steak and the dessert, EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, was perfect. I will definitely be back.

We've been going there for over 40 years and always enjoy returning. The steaks are delicious, and the three accompanying sauces are also great, for those who like them. The salad to start, which you can choose from several different types of lettuce, is always a hit. The staff is very friendly, although they seemed a bit overwhelmed last time. This doesn't detract from our overall rating, though. However, you should definitely make a reservation or go later in the evening, as it's difficult to get a table between 6:00 and 10:00 PM. I've also heard that it's difficult to get through to anyone on the phone.

We're frequent customers, but what I experienced on November 1st, 2025, my wife's birthday, was abysmal. My wife and I ordered steaks (both medium). My wife's steak was perfect, but mine was unfortunately too dry, which can happen. But then: I called over a waitress and explained the situation: my wife's steak was great, but mine was too dry. She was friendly and immediately understood. She took my plate and went to the grill master. What happened next was appalling. The man (not the younger one, the slightly older one) took the piece of meat from the plate, looked at it, and just kept cursing, then slapped the piece of meat right back down on the plate. The annoying thing was, the grill master didn't notice that I was sitting right there and saw everything. Sorry, but when I spend over €100 for two people, I expect to enjoy it. Otherwise, I might as well just throw a steak on the grill at home. I don't know what the problem is with admitting something and simply making a new one. In the end, I got a new steak, well… In the end, the bill showed 400g instead of 300g, but I didn't feel like arguing about it on my wife's birthday, so I paid it. I'd been going there at least every three weeks! They should have customer service training. You just don't do that, even if the customer didn't see it.

A fantastic steakhouse, unassuming from the outside! The exceptionally quiet atmosphere, thanks to numerous sound absorbers, is a real highlight! The steaks were also excellent and cooked to perfection, just the way I wanted them!

If I order a 400g sirloin steak cooked "English style," it doesn't have to be well-done around the edges. A grill master shouldn't cut into the steak on my plate and then try to convince me that it's cooked "English style" in the middle. The steak came back to the second grill master with the same grilling errors. Finally, a steak arrived as I had originally ordered it. I've known ICI since 1987 and will not be returning. The grill master's behavior was simply embarrassing for me and my guests. It was a business lunch...

Making a reservation is fine, of course, but unfortunately not possible without instructions. Despite asking in person, no one could explain it to me. A difficult business practice. A shame, I would have liked to know what the food was like.

Anyone who wants to enjoy the perfect steak should eat here. I've never eaten a piece of meat that comes close to the quality at ICI Steakhouse. The salads are also fantastic, especially the pea salad. A complete feast for the senses. The waiters and waitresses are efficient and always friendly. The steakhouse is always very busy, so we usually go late in the evening to avoid long waits for our food. The ambiance is sophisticated and inviting. You feel very comfortable there. It's always a perfect experience, and I've never been disappointed. Tip: The sirloin steak is very close to the tenderloin in terms of quality and tenderness. You can save some money that way. Enjoy your meal!

Absolutely awful experience. We booked a table for 7 p.m., and were seated at 7:45 p.m. The food arrived shortly before 9 p.m. The food and ambiance were okay, but for a village restaurant, the prices were like those in downtown Düsseldorf. I wouldn't recommend it.

We're always happy to come back. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. No matter how busy it is, you don't have to wait long for your food. We don't often have time to eat there with our child, but even when we pick up, everything is always great. We love eating there.

We've been to your place several times, but yesterday the service was just like the food. A 10!!!!!! The lady served us brilliantly, friendly and quick. Otherwise, the service was rather mediocre, intentional but not skilled. But the food always made up for it. Last night was fantastic!!!!

The table for two people was reserved three weeks ago. However, when we arrived, there was no table available. We were given a table for six in the back room. The service was very unprofessional; the cutlery and napkin were simply handed to us. After ordering drinks and food, the salad arrived 30 minutes later, and the food another 30 minutes later. In the meantime, we were left high and dry. Upon request, we were able to order more drinks. The steaks weren't that special for the price either. No one even asked beforehand how they should be cooked. In conclusion: The golden days of the ICI are over; even a nice ambiance is no use if you don't offer decent service.

This was our first time at ICI and certainly won't be the last. From the outside, the steakhouse is completely unassuming and unrecognizable. We sat outside. It was a very nice evening. The food was excellent. We also took a look at the interior later. It was absolutely beautiful and highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

A very good steakhouse with a really good atmosphere. BUT three days of over 20 unsuccessful calls each day is simply unacceptable! They should definitely switch to online reservations. Unfortunately, it's not fun to eat there. It's a shame!

The website says phone reservations are required. But why is no one answering? I've been trying for three days at different times, but either no one answers or the phone line is constantly busy. Doesn't ICI need to provide this service? I'm now making a reservation for 8 people at another restaurant.

I tried to reserve a table over the phone. Unfortunately, the gentleman on the phone mumbled heavily, so I had to repeat what he said to make sure I understood him correctly. I then received a completely inappropriate and rude comment. I then reserved a table elsewhere. This kind of behavior over the phone is very disappointing.

The quality of the meat, salad, side dishes, and dessert is indescribable. I always eat the beef fillet...divine, it's delicious to die for. The staff are always very friendly, accommodating, and quick; they really go all out, they do whatever they can. The grill master, the heart of the place, doesn't let anything burn, only when requested. We always order our meat medium plus and it's always perfect. It couldn't be better. I've never eaten meat prepared so well, the sauces are perfectly balanced, everything here is just right, and I think it has been for 40 or 50 years. The ICI is the BEST steakhouse there is; nothing else comes close, neither before nor behind, and certainly not in Königswinter. Thank you for everything. My dear Anna and I would like to say thank you for the delicious food and the lovely atmosphere that we are able to enjoy regularly, and we believe that what you expect as a guest here is not to be taken for granted. Very tasty food and when the beer garden is open it's even better. If it is full, there may be some waiting times.

You don't get a response to your reservation via email, and rarely does anyone answer the phone. If you're the first one to arrive to get a table, you'll be turned away because it's full. Unfortunately, no one can really speak of hospitality here. Maybe they should limit the number to 80% so they can at least reserve three or four tables. That's what hospitality means.

There's only one high-end option for this. It simply doesn't get any better!

Unfortunately, the smokers on the terrace are very annoying when the door is open. The smoke then drifts into the interior. Yes, you can close it, but when it feels like 35 degrees Celsius, that's annoying too. The service and food are great, as always.

We had a great evening at ICI. The food was once again delicious, the service was excellent, and we really liked the location. This time we sat inside because of the weather, but the last two times we sat outside in the beer garden. Both are cozy.
