ichi-san in Bamberg

Wir waren dort mit einem Familiären Essen mit 15; Personen. Es wurden ganz verschiedene Speisen probiert. Die empfohlene Vorspeisen Platte für mehrere Personen, war gut zusammen gestellt, jeder hat was für sich gefunden. auch Sushi und die anderen Hauptgerichte waren lecker und schön arrangiert, wir kommen gerne wieder 🙏😊

Die Preise sind durchschnittlich, und das Essen auch. Wahrscheinlich hatten wir aufgrund der vielen Bewertungen zu hohe Erwartungen. Beim Bezahlen wurde uns viel zu viel berechnet. Die Rechnung wurde erst korrigiert, nachdem wir nachgefragt hatten. Außerdem wird dort übermäßig viel Plastik verwendet. Manchmal wird das Essen im Restaurant sogar in Plastikbehältern serviert.

Wirklich sehr leckerer Asiate. Wer gerne Sushi isst, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Wenn möglich sollte man eher zu Fuß kommen, aber das ist für uns auch kein Problem. Ein Parkhaus ist ebenfalls in der Nähe. Auch sehr zu loben sind die Bedienungen, die immer nett sind und uns sogar einen kostenloses Getränk gebracht haben, nachdem ein fast leergetrunkenes Glas umgefallen ist. 5 Sterne!

Sehr guter Service und eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre. Auch das Essen hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt (Sushi, Nudeln und Vorspeisen). Insgesamt eine sehr leckere und positive Restauranterfahrung!

Sehr mittelmässig Ich war mit einer Freundin am 30 Februar 2026 beim Ichi-San kurz nach Öffnung am Abend. Wir hatten uns auf gute authentische japanische Küche gefreut nachdem wir die sehr positiven Bewertungen gesehen haben. Leider war unsere Erfahrung sehr enttäuschend. Essen und service war zwar schnell aber geschmacklich sehr fade. Die Nudelsuppe die ich bestellt hatte war nicht viel mehr als heisse Hühnerbrühe mit ein wenig Sesam und rohem Gemüse. Die nudeln selbst hätten von Geschmack und Konsistenz her aus einer billig Fertigpackung stammen können. Bei 13 euro preis hätte ich lieber Cup-Noodles zu einem Bruchteils des Preises und dem selben Geschmack gekauft. Das Bento meiner Kollegin war auch nicht überzeugend. Der service war uninteressiert aber okay für ein schnelles Essen. Das Ambiente was von Aussen beworben wird wurde nicht wirklich erzielt.

Ich bin auf Reisen und habe dort mit meiner Familie zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war köstlich und die Kellner waren super freundlich.

Super freundlicher Empfang mit kostenlosen Wasser am Tisch. Es gab einen kleinen Gruß aus der Küche und ein Abschiedsgetränk umsonst. Wir hatten jeder drei Gänge, mit Vorspeise, Hauptgang und gemeinsamer Nachspeise. Alles war in angenehmer Wartezeit am Tisch, sehr schön präsentiert und unglaublich lecker!! Große Empfehlung als Alternative zu den All you can eat oder Franchise Ketten! Unbedingt einmal ausprobieren

As someone who visits countless restaurants both professionally and privately – from small insider tips to Michelin-starred restaurants – I would like to give special praise to Ichi-San in Bamberg. This Japanese restaurant impresses me time and time again, and in every way: • The service is exceptionally attentive and warm, yet professional and pleasantly unobtrusive. You immediately sense that genuine hospitality is at the forefront here. Individual requests are always catered to, even special dietary requests are accommodated without hesitation. • The cuisine is diverse and creative, with a clear focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether sushi, bowls, or hot specialties – every dish is impeccably crafted and prepared with love. The flavors are balanced, sometimes subtly composed, and you can taste that true experts are at work here. • We not only enjoy Ichi-San in-house (the atmosphere is modern yet cozy), but also regularly order for pickup. This, too, works flawlessly every time – the food is perfectly packaged and retains none of its quality. For me, Ichi-San is a clear recommendation—whether for a relaxed dinner, a quick lunch, or a delicious takeaway. A real asset to Bamberg, one we enjoy visiting often.

Went here for lunch today with a friend. We made a reservation in advance, although that wasn't necessary at lunchtime. Well, you never know... The waitress greeted us very warmly and escorted us up to the terrace in midsummer temperatures. We were told we could choose our seats, and if we got too warm (which was definitely not out of the question today), we could swap seats or sit inside. We opted for outside. Small/major handicap: The restrooms are on the second floor...so if you're not so mobile, keep that in mind! The view from the outdoor terrace is quite nice, by the way ;-) Service was quick and very attentive, and we were immediately presented with the lunch menu and the regular menu. Since we chose the lunch menu, only that will be reviewed. Almost every dish (with three exceptions) comes with miso soup. For starters, my girlfriend had 4 takoyaki (octopus-filled dough balls with a small bed of lettuce) and I had 5 tsuki (small pastry parcels with a spicy shrimp filling). Both starters were freshly prepared, hot, and incredibly delicious. I've never had anything like it before; highly recommended. The cost per starter was €6.50, which was reasonable. The dishes were presented to the table with a great attention to detail and very attractively presented. Wonderful. For the main course, we both had the Bento Box S2 from the lunch menu, with 3 nigiri, 6 hosamaki, and 6 ura maki, with a small salad. One of the sushi was filled with avocado, and the others with different fish. Everything tasted very fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The price was absolutely reasonable at €12.90! We had to make sure we finished our portions. Service was consistently very friendly and polite. Discreet and unobtrusive. Very pleasant. The restaurant area as a whole was also very lovingly decorated and CLEAN. REALLY CLEAN! The price/performance ratio was right for us here today. I paid just under €28 for 2x Lychee Juice Spritzer, 1x Tsuki, and a Bento Box, and I was absolutely stuffed. We'd love to come back ☺️ What I PERSONALLY didn't find ideal: the Bento Box was made of some kind of fiberglass/plastic... I don't know if it's necessary... I prefer eating from "real" dishes... But that's really my personal Monk 😉

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. It took us 4 (!) hours to get our meal there because the service was so poor and slow. It took a whopping 45 minutes just to order drinks, and it kept going. When the food finally arrived, it looked and tasted good, but it was a bit overpriced. To make matters worse, I got food poisoning afterward... so, I'll definitely never go back.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a great day. Even the drinks took over half an hour, and the food arrived in batches and after about an hour and a half, which was especially annoying because we had to be somewhere else on time afterward. The food was just so-so.

I hate giving bad reviews, but unfortunately, I can't leave it like this here. We had a reservation at 6:30 p.m. because we had a follow-up appointment at 8 p.m. We had to wait 30 minutes before we were finally allowed to order drinks and food after asking. The drinks arrived at 7:30 p.m., as did the appetizers. We then said we needed the main course immediately because we had to leave 30 minutes later. After asking three times, the main course arrived at 7:50 p.m.!! Even the bill, which we wanted immediately, never arrived, nor did any packaging indicating that we could take the food with us. When we went to the cashier to pay, they preferred to serve other customers and took an inordinate amount of time (15 minutes to pay and pack the food), and were extremely rude to boot. With gritted teeth, they gave us a 20% pickup discount, but we asked for it for each one. Any kind of graciousness? None of that! The appetizer was lukewarm, and the main courses were okay. However, I wouldn't recommend the ramen; there are much better options. We won't be returning here, and the good reviews from 2017-2020 are unfortunately no longer relevant.

Pretty overhyped. The rice is sticky and heavy (in sushi 🍣). Maybe I'm just spoiled. However, I can't understand the awards. Too expensive for what is offered.

Very excellent food. Sushi and sashimi were perfect. Sushi was also available in unusual variations. The staff was extremely hospitable and there was also free mint and lemon water at the beginning.

In any case, get an invoice - As always, the food was delicious and the service was always polite and attentive. Unfortunately, we discovered afterwards that we had paid about €10 too much. The price was communicated to us verbally by the waitress, we then gave a tip and on the way home we realized that that couldn't be right. That was the case. It can happen sometimes - but we'll get the receipt next time. Otherwise, as always, delicious! Ramen, side dish, salmon - all fresh and delicious!

Es gibt keine Worte zu beschreiben, was in dieser Einrichtung passiert ist. Wir waren als Unternehmen gesetzt, das erste, was passiert ist, falsche Rechnung, musste ich den Schmerz ohne Vorwarnung zu zahlen, von der Kellner und nicht nur ich. Wir waren zu sechst. Der Kellner war rassistisch gegenüber mir und meinen Bekannten. Er hat geschrien, aggressiv gesprochen und gestikuliert. Wenn ich die Möglichkeit gehabt hätte, zur Polizei zu gehen, hätte ich das getan, vor allem, weil ich eine Frau bin!

Schnelle Platzvergabe und freundliches Personal. Leider waren die Vorspeisen kalt und mengenmäßig sehr übersichtlich. Die vegetarische Sushiplatte war leider in punkto Auswahl sehr einseitig (Salatfüllung mit Gurke) und kostete schlappe 13,90€. Der Fisch der zweiten Sushiplatte wirkte zumindest frisch. Die angepriesene hausgemachte Limonade überzeugte leider geschmacklich ebenfalls nicht.

Auch das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Exzellenter Asiate! Wir hatten unterschiedliche Gerichte und waren geflasht!

Today is the German national holiday. I go to Ichi-San for lunch and ordered a chicken nugget and two sushi rolls. The chicken nuggets are completely different than KFC. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce is slightly spicy and very tasty! ! The amount of sushi is huge, I was full after just two sushi rolls and it only costs a little over 10 euros! When checking out, the waitress also gave me a glass of Japanese plum wine. It was a perfect dining experience!

I was here once a year ago and came here again today. Did the chef change and it tasted too bad? The noodle soup was a clear soup without a drop of oil and the fried shrimp were still soft and cold. I asked to fry it again but when it was served several prawns were missing. Discouraged will never come back. When we got back to the hotel we still had the self-heating hotpot. Ha ha。

Really great food and very, very warm service. 09/24/2024: A lot has obviously changed since last time. It's definitely not the restaurant we were at 2 or 3 years ago. To be honest, we were surprised at how average the food tasted. It was OK, but definitely far from the quality we knew here. - Ginger tea from a bag -> not a single natural ginger strip in the tea -> cheap! - No sprouts as a starter -> you get them first thing almost everywhere -> here you have to pay over €6 for them, where you can get them for free elsewhere - even the most expensive sushi tastes like the simplest. That was definitely our last time here.

Nach einer knappen Viertelstunde konnten wir immerhin bestellen. Jasmintee als Beutelware war - zumindest in einem Asia-Restaurant - eine neue Erfahrung... Die Sushi-Vorspeise war solide, mehr allerdings auch nicht. Der Rotbarsch war einigermaßen lecker, die Entenbrust auch, wieder: solide, aber nichts, was ein talentierter Imbisskoch nicht auch himbekäme. Eher kleine Portionen, auch beim Reis - der war teils etwas trocken und ungleichmäßig gefärbt. Natürlich würde kein Gastronom Reis, der bei einem Gast übrig bleibt, wieder rausgeben... aber wenn, dann würde das vielleicht so aussehen und schmecken. Nette Terrasse. Der große Gastraum in ersten Stock hat mich eher an die Kantine des Finanzamts Wuppertal-Elberfeld erinnert... Fazit: Man macht mit einem Besuch nichts komplett falsch, aber sollte nicht zuviel erwarten.

One of the best places for sushi in all of Bamberg. The service is smart and quick. The dishes are affordable and the atmosphere is great, especially on the terrace. Both the selection and the taste were right. Some of the tables were very close to each other. That is the biggest criticism. - Gladly again!

The food was good so far, but there are better sushi shops in Bamberg. We were there for about 2 hours and waited an hour for the sushi. Guests at 3 other tables arrived after us and ate earlier. We were told about the service that we would like to order. But they were very friendly to us. About 1/4 of the store was occupied. My starter was delivered incorrectly (probably a mishearing: 7b instead of 7d), but was still tasty. The food came after 45 minutes and only after we asked if we had been forgotten. But then within 3-4 minutes. At the end we were offered an espresso on the house. Apparently they noticed that things weren't going well for us. Maybe we were just unlucky... Overall, we wouldn't recommend the store

When I ate in this restaurant with my colleagues we were very satisfied. The sushi was also very good and I don't normally like sushi. Highly recommended and very good.

The food was served two hours after we placed the order, even though we made reservations a week in advance. When we went to pay we were told it would take another 10-15 minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked again. We were sent downstairs from the first floor because payment was only possible on the ground floor. When we arrived at the bottom, we were sent back up because the reception of the card payment machine downstairs was poor. At the top we should wait another 5 minutes. After a total of 30 minutes of waiting, we were able to leave the store because we were not able to pay beforehand. It's a shame and extremely bad service.

Unfortunately, since the business was handed over, the service has left a lot to be desired. Waiting time for food over 1 ¼ hours. Only the starter came within this time (2 fried shrimp...). Other guests who arrived later got their food and some of them left before we got our main course when we asked. The taste of the food is okay, but it doesn't stand out from the other sushi restaurants. In our opinion, there were far too few staff. It's a shame, that was our last visit here.

There were 4 of us and we had to wait at least 20 minutes before we could order, we waited another 45 minutes for our food and mum didn't get the duck until an hour later. I got the impression that they primarily serve regular visitors of the establishment, since the people at the tables knew each other and their orders arrived much faster. Also, regarding the next order, it was very annoying to hear "the food will be ready in 10" minutes, which was an absolute lie - it didn't come after 25, after only being served drinks (IN 25 MINUTES), we also waited forever for those. It was necessary to constantly remind the waiter, even about drinks, because we were simply ignored. Two hours later, we left the establishment half-starved and disappointed, the evening was ruined. I definitely do not recommend it

Oversized store and completely empty. That should have been a warning to me! Unfortunately I was hungry and stayed there. Miso soup tiny and almost cold, squid balls with disgusting consistency, disgusting taste, old, bad ingredients, everything has a strange aftertaste. There was a horrible mayonnaise sauce on the balls. Sushi was mediocre, some tasted old, everything had a strange aftertaste. Price/performance is not right. Only the green tea was good. Worst of all, the tempura was fried in old fat. This borders on physical harm. I've never had such an abysmally bad tempura. If you want to know how delicious tempura can taste, go to Mikuni in Frankfurt, my favorite restaurant for 30 years. Today, a day after that meal at ichi-san, I'm still feeling bad. Conclusion: Better go somewhere else!

Danger! Enter at your own risk! Unfortunately, a torturous experience: first a tiny miso soup, already almost cold, with fried octopus balls with mayonnaise on top of a strange consistency like a slimy cream puff, who would like that? Our mixed sushi, not all bad, but especially not remotely good if you know what real sushi tastes like, made by a sushi master who has had seven years of training in Japan. The surprise of this alleged sushi master was primarily a cost-cutting measure. Cheapest bite, most of it not exactly fresh, the old fatty egg is over-sweetened, Maguro has a bitter aftertaste. To break the habit! But the thing that won us over was the burnt tempura, which was dripping with old fat and was simply inedible. Price: over 70.- for two people. To be honest, I would have given the sum voluntarily if I had been spared from feeding pigs.

A very nice restaurant on the way to the city center in Bamberg. Not only is there a good lunch menu here, but it is also cozy here in the evenings. The sushi is very tasty and the service is quick and friendly. We would love to go here again.

Introduced me to Japanese food. I never thought in my life that it could taste so delicious. I've been there regularly since then, even during my lunch break. Lunch menu also available to take away... Update 2024: still a pleasure years later. Since then I haven't been able to enjoy Chinese buffets anymore. This is a different league!

The best Restaurant for any Asian dish I've ever been to. The food is incredibly tasty and freshly Hand-made. The Chicken fell apart just by picking it up and the service is extremely friendly.

The food here is really extremely good, not only in terms of taste but also in terms of cost, with around €30 for a starter, main course, sushi and dessert. The service is super fast and friendly and the atmosphere, especially upstairs, is very pleasant, relaxing and inviting.

Real Japanese cuisine, very tasty sushi and hot dishes! The quality of the fish is outstanding. As an Asian and a connoisseur of Japan, I claim that the best sushi in the Bamberg area is available here, and my Japanese friends also rave about ichi-san. In summer you can find a cozy place on the terrace. If you like real sushi, you can't avoid Ichi-san, absolutely recommended. Reservations by telephone are recommended. There is usually a parking space in front of the door, otherwise there is a parking garage directly opposite.

I had ramen, which was an absolute disgrace. It was a vegetable broth with a few noodles and the toppings seemed to be canned vegetables. We also waited 30 minutes for drinks and 45 minutes to pay, even after asking several times (especially if you really want to leave because you were looking forward to great food and are afraid of being abusive because you always have the feeling of the soup in the bag back of the head.) This only after asking several times. Legally you could even have just left. I just felt ripped off the whole time.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance just walking down the street - the menu looked authentically Japanese, and I was further swayed by the predominantly positive reviews from 5-10 years ago. It seemed like a no-brainer as a place for an enjoyable lunch on a day trip to Bamberg. When I arrived, the place was suspiciously empty for a weekend lunch. Coupled with the rave past reviews, this should have rung alarm bells. Unfortunately, I did not connect the dots - I wish I had, would have avoided the disappointment. To start with, the food was as far from authentic Japanese as I can imagine. I ordered fried scallops as the main dish - they arrived covered in massive quantities of a thick creamy sauce that would be an anathema in a Japanese kitchen; the dish resembled a basic (if oversized) Continental Asian stir-fry. Well, this could be forgiven, since I was very far from Japan. What could not be forgiven was the very non-Japanese style of service - distinctly Continental Chinese, cold, rude, and with a good measure of Soviet-style Obschepit boorishness. As a finish I ordered a small sashimi platter (or, what I thought would be a small sashimi platter!), which the owner confirmed as "one portion" ("Eine Portion") of salmon sashimi. Five minutes later he presented me with a huge *boat* of sashimi - I haven't counted the pieces, but it would have been at least 24 *large* (much thicker than normal) sashimi pieces. My first reaction would be to think of it as a misunderstanding, but the owner did clearly say "Eine Portion", and that boat was definitely not what any reasonable person would see as "one portion". Besides, it should have been abundantly clear that, as a solo diner, I was not intending to order a massive boat of sashimi on top of the large main dish I had already had. My only explanation is that this was a conscious and deliberate upsizing of the dish in order to ambush the customer with a larger bill. Having presented me with this ridiculously oversized dish, the owner rudely informed me that I had 20 minutes to finish it because the restaurant was closing at 3 pm. So, I had to finish 24(+?) large pieces of salmon sashimi in 20 minutes - not exactly an enjoyable weekend lunch, but there was no way back. When the bill arrived, it was (naturally) quite a bit higher than I intended. I asked the owner to print the bill out so that I could examine it. He kept coming up with all sorts of reasons why the bill could not be printed - it was rather comical actually (again, comparisons with restaurants in the Soviet Union come to mind). Eventually it did become possible, after some struggle I had the bill. Needless to say, at that stage I had no intention of tipping the owner for his Soviet-style service and counted out the exact change. He was rather enraged by this: he asked me where I was from, and when I responded "Australia", he boorishly replied, "I don't think so" (this is an exact quote). Then he demonstratively stood with his back towards me as I left the restaurant. I did not call him a loser, but in hindsight I should have. It is quite unbelievable how someone like this could run a restaurant anywhere but 1980s Soviet Union or the Communist China (and yes, he was speaking Chinese to his staff). To wrap it up, I absolutely do NOT recommend this place and most definitely will NOT be going back there myself. I do struggle to reconcile this experience with the predominantly positive TA reviews from the past, but those reviews are mostly from 5-10 years ago. I assume that the restaurant must have changed ownership since then and took a horrible turn for the worse. P.S. 1 - Food quality: The salmon was definitely not sashimi-grade: there were small bits of bone in some of the pieces. Definitely not authentic Japanese, and not even a good imitation. A small detail but fits in with the bigger picture. P.S. 2 - The bill: Upon examining the bill more closely later, I found a charge for "Extra Ginger" - this is definitely not something I ordered (I don't even eat pickled ginger if it comes for free). This further supports my conviction that the owner was deliberately inflating / upsizing the bill.

Canteen atmosphere with very long waiting times for food. Very loud with little space between tables. Food and sushi mediocre. No recommendation.

5 stars for the green ice cream dessert

Fancy Japanese? ... Then off to Ichi-san. We made a reservation by phone the day before and got a table without any problems. We parked directly opposite in the parking garage and after crossing the street we were right in front of the door. After a warm welcome we were shown to the table and started with a nice warm "sake" wine. This was followed by a nice soup, sushi, dumplings, fried vegetables and a delicious matcha ice cream for dessert. All dishes were delicious, of very high quality and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was good and the ambience is simple and elegant. We felt comfortable. The staff took good care of us, but we had to wait a little longer that day. But it wasn't a problem for us for a cozy evening without time pressure. There was a lot going on and so the timing was still okay🤷. Conclusion: Ichi-san is an upscale Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy good, high quality food in a nice atmosphere at a fair price. Always happy 👍
