We went to this fantastic Japanese restaurant last night and had a truly wonderful experience. Instead of a classic set menu, we ordered a large sushi platter for two – and it was simply outstanding. The selection was varied, the quality of each piece was excellent, and everything was very fresh and beautifully presented. The cocktails were also superb: aromatic, creatively mixed, and perfectly balanced. For dessert, we had sweet wild rice, which was a real taste sensation – simply fantastic. Overall, a wonderful evening with great sushi, great drinks, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The food is great, and even if it's a bit pricey, it's definitely worth spending a little more. The only downside is that it was quite loud at times. Three of us sat on one side of the table, and if someone spoke two seats away, you couldn't understand anything.

It’s a nice sushi restaurant, we ordered the wakame salad it was a nice starter, the salmon curry, it’s on the sweet side but very good :) we also had the basic inside out tuna and salmon rolls they were great, the special spicy tuna was nothing special, overall a very nice place .

The menu here offers something for everyone, the service is professional and unobtrusive, you're served quickly, and the chef knows what they're doing. The seating is a bit cramped, but not uncomfortable. Highly recommended!

For such a lovely restaurant, such behavior from the staff is simply disgraceful. That evening, I was charged a surcharge of €5 for the lunch menu, even though it wasn't stated anywhere. This is clearly misleading guests. The waitress responded to my question in an extremely unprofessional manner – with a mocking smile, without explanation, without apology, simply saying, "Yeah, I didn't say that." This kind of behavior is disrespectful, rude, and demonstrates absolute incompetence in dealing with guests.

We went for a special occasion and were delighted with Hyaku Mizu. It's located in the iconic Hunertwasserhaus (Green Citadel) in Magdeburg which adds to the ambience. Our food was delicious and the service both efficient and attentive.

After a quick search on Maps, we discovered this restaurant. We called back shortly before and asked if a table was available. They confirmed it. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to a table (where our dog could also lie comfortably). My wife had duck, and I had lamb. Both were truly delicious. Mine had lovely roasted flavors. The dessert was also very good. I can definitely recommend it.

Open until 10 p.m. on Sundays... We had a reservation for 8 p.m., and the young man who served us was very friendly. At 9 p.m., they started putting out empty bottles for pickup next to our table. The friendly waiter had to help out. New service... rude and unprofessional. There were no more coasters for drinks, empty plates were being lifted over guests who were still eating... Hands on hips, constantly staring at their phones.... We felt unwelcome and thrown out. Too bad, because the food was good. But never again Hyaku Mizu!!!

Vi lagde ud med at få talt menukortene uden et ord, og da jeg høfligt spurgte om vi kunne få engelske menukort, var det direkte uvenlige svar fra den unge kvindlige tjener: “Læs først, spørg bagefter! Sagt på en anden måde, så var menukort altså både på tysk og engelsk, Med denne “velkomst” var vi egentlig klar til at gå igen. Desværre var min datter ikke helt rask, så vi var nødt til at få noget at spise. Maden var gennemsnitlig, tjenerinden formåede på intet tidspunkt så meget som at smile til os, det føltes kun som hun gerne ville have vi gik igen. Så det var svært at synes det på nogen måde blev en god oplevelse. Min anbefaling er at springe dette sted over. Der er mange andre hyggelige steder med venlige mennesker i denne by.

Good Asian cuisine in the center of Magdeburg... We had made a reservation as usual and were seated at a table in the second room of the air-conditioned restaurant. Despite the summer temperatures and the availability of outdoor seating, it wasn't a tragedy, as an outdoor table can be a bad experience thanks to the still numerous friendly smokers. The service was professional without being overly cordial. The food was truly delicious, from the appetizer to the main course... but nothing exceptional. In conclusion: a good place for Asian cuisine

I was very surprised. The last time I reviewed Mizu was six years ago, and there was nothing comparable. Today, however, I noticed that the staff's attention is simply fake, asking if everything is okay and not noticing the empty plates that haven't been cleared even after 10 minutes and three attempts. The portion sizes have also decreased.

The sushi was absolutely top-notch. You can immediately taste that only high-quality ingredients are used here. Everything is perfectly balanced. The rice is just right, the fish incredibly fresh. The chefs understand their craft down to the last detail and are true masters of their trade. The service was also excellent: friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive. In addition to the sushi, there are many other great dishes that are just as impressive. If you love high-quality food, this is the place for you.

I tried sushi for the time in my life and I must say, that was amazing. Also, I ate halibut with asian style vegetables which was perfectly fried and spiced. Drinks were also on top notch, very nice...

The drinks and food tasted too ordinary for the prices—I didn't find it particularly special. The constant questions about whether we wanted anything else (even though our glasses were still half full) were rather annoying and intrusive. For me, it's not worth another visit.

We were there yesterday. The food and drinks were excellent. The tuna bowl was a bit small - more rice doesn't really cost anything 😉 Unfortunately, the waitress was obviously not having the best day and just slammed the plate in my face without warning. Oh well, I just have bad days sometimes.

Ich war zum dritten Mal im Hyaku Mizu – und komme immer gern wieder. Das Ambiente ist modern, stilvoll und gleichzeitig sehr einladend. Man merkt sofort, dass hier Wert auf jedes Detail gelegt wird – von der Einrichtung bis zur Präsentation der Speisen. Das Essen war hervorragend: frisch, kreativ angerichtet und geschmacklich absolut auf den Punkt. Besonders begeistert hat mich die Auswahl – von Sushi über Robata-Grill bis hin zu veganen Optionen ist für jeden etwas dabei. Der Service war ebenso überzeugend: aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Unsere Getränke kamen schnell, Sonderwünsche wurden ohne Probleme umgesetzt, und wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Insgesamt ein durch und durch gelungener Abend. Preis-Leistung top. Ich kann das Hyaku Mizu uneingeschränkt empfehlen – ein echtes Highlight für alle Liebhaber der gehobenen asiatischen Küche!

The food at Toto was excellent. We've been to Asia many times and know what it can taste like. The sizzling food that's thrown together in some Asian restaurants is a disgrace. Here, the complete opposite. Good ingredients, perfectly prepared, and attentive, friendly service – first-class!

We were visiting Magdeburg and came across this restaurant by chance on the recommendation of two women who have lived here for ages. The food was really incredibly tasty! Creative open kitchen, everything fresh, super clean, top service. We then ate here on two days. At lunchtime everything is a little cheaper than in the evening, but the prices in the evening are rather high. But it's really worth it! Homemade udon noodles, brilliant desserts (pleasant to the eye!). The fact that the restaurant is located in the Hundertwasserhaus is also something very special. Everything is incredibly beautifully designed, including the inside of the restaurant.

My favorite restaurant! Every year we celebrate New Year's Eve here and everything is always perfect. Thank you for the great service and delicious food.

Hyaku Mizu is highly recommended. Online reservation went smoothly (limited to a 2-hour stay). Price performance is fair, the duck breast tastes much better than at the standard Chinese/Vietnam snack bar, but a little more expensive. Portions are large enough to fill you up.

Nice food but nothing shocking tbh. A bit disappointing that the same food costs on weekends almost double and not so much choices on weekends like on lunch menu. A bit too pricey for the quality.

When I'm in my hometown once a year, I eat at least twice in this wonderful restaurant. Once with mom and once with my girlfriend. The visit to Magdeburg has been even more worthwhile for me since the restaurant opened. The Mizu is a must and if you don't go, you're definitely missing out. Das Hyaku Mizu in Magdeburg habe ich bereits mehrmals besucht. Die hier angebotene, japanische Küche (Sushi) ist TOP! Zutaten, insbesondere der Fisch, ist super frisch. Die Gerichte werden zudem sehr ansprechend angerichtet = das Auge isst mit. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und motiviert. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Now I'm just getting to the comment. The ambiance is simply top-notch!!! Asian elegance. The food is of the highest quality. A very large selection of dishes. Something for everyone. The food is also very delicious. I fondly remember the taste. But sometimes less is more (I'm just talking about the decoration of the food or the presentation of the sushi). Otherwise, I highly recommend the restaurant. It's not like any other Japanese-Vietnamese restaurant you're used to, where you always get the same cookie-cutter concept everywhere. This restaurant is even better!

From the reservation to the payment, everything went great. Food was delicious and light cuisine. Something different to the traditional restaurants.

The restaurant offers a nice ambience and comfortable seats. The service is fine - not outstanding or noticeably attentive. For starters we ordered wasabi scallops, miso soup and tuna tataki. Based on the reviews and the high prices, we had high expectations, which were unfortunately disappointed. The mussels were passable, but nothing more: they lacked flavor and salt. The miso soup was reminiscent of harbor water. The tuna was cut too thick, very cold and also quite bland. The main course was three types of nigiri (salmon, tuna, amberjack) and an entrecôte with green asparagus, tempura sweet potato and teriyaki and (at your own request) peanut sauce. The fish tasted and smelled fishy (sounds strange, but fish shouldn't). The meat was tender, but again lacked flavor and that certain something. The asparagus was limp and the breading on the sweet potato was bland again. The whole dish was carelessly prepared. All in all, we were pretty disappointed with the steep prices, which didn't justify the slightly below average food.

The decor is very stylish and chic. The service was great and the waiters were very attentive. The food is a mix of modern Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine, which didn't really impress us. We both had the duck, which was dry and the skin was very tough. Maybe the kitchen had had a bad day.

This restaurant only survives because of its location in the Hundertwasser House. Menu as thick as a book. Waitress constantly pushes you to order. Logically, the next guests are already waiting. Tables and ambience far too narrow. I could have eaten straight from the plate at the next table. Cold or warm main course...you don't know. There was no help from the waitress... or not visible on the menu.

The food is great. The ambience is very well done. However, the service was not very great. The starters didn't come at the same time. The main courses went reasonably well. The waitress wasn't friendly enough either. It could also be because she was in training. There were 7 of us, so there was a larger table in the back. I can still recommend it, but our experience was not 100% satisfactory.

Absolutely awful and disgusting experience. I last visited this town in 1989 - nothing has changed. We were met by a snippy guy, full of himself who probably thought he was being funny - he wasn’t, he was just stupid and beyond inappropriate. We should have turned around and walked away. The place is ok, ambience wise - it was super icy and both doors (he insisted) were kept wide open (what for you’ll never know), so one sat in the iciest of winds … menu is extensive, food reached and was alright - until I found a giant, long, thick, Asian, black hair in mine … I alerted same guy (I stayed beyond calm what my family took with surprise …), who wordlessly removed my plate. So far so good. I was beyond DISGUSTED. No word of an apology, zilch. Nothing. Zero!!! We were 3 people and all said the same. Upon asking for the bill, same man reappears and starts LECTURING ME!!!!!! … me!!!!! that no one in his kitchen had long black hair!!! Ha!! My father has almost no hair/white, my mother and I long blonde hair … say what??? I asked “you suggest I put this in there???” … everyone Chinese, Japanese, Asian in his open kitchen, waiters … words??? LECTURING ME!!! Until I had it! This is a commercial eatery. Unacceptable. Cannot happen!! Cannot!!! “We are humans” - you are???? Really???? You are supposed to be sorry and SHUT UP after something of the likes, if that happens!!! Because I am not interested in the least how you (do not) manage your kitchen/hygiene concept etc.!!! And you do not debate and argue with a paying client that is pissed off beyond! The guy belongs fired not into hospitality and I am in two minds alerting the authorities after this, if not at least the owner - I would have been the last one making such a drama out of this if only a decent server would have been encountered that was genuinely sorry and not a “KLUGSCHEISSER” of the first order who then proceeds to tell ME “he doesn t have to take all this” Really? He can be happy the plate had disappeared because otherwise it would have happily landed in his face. DISGUSTING. AVOID!!! if you do have some standards and respect for yourself.

Wooow! Finally a real sashimi AND a Wagyu menu! I had it on our first visit on January 3rd. said: THIS will be my regular restaurant! ❤️ Open kitchen, great ambience, loving staff and above all: authentic and delicious food. :) That was definitely worth the €50 tip for me, I'm more than satisfied! In his rush, our waiter didn't see the amount of the tip, but he was definitely happy at home and that makes me happy. 😀 See you soon!
