The restaurant's interior and exterior are beautifully and pleasantly decorated, and its location in the harbor is stunning. The service was attentive and friendly, just what you'd expect. The 'Harbor Plate' was truly delicious, and the 'Finkenwerden Plaice' was very tasty, though it was a bit dry. Overall, though, a really good restaurant despite its location in a tourist hotspot.

Food is a matter of taste. After very good experiences in Rostock, we were disappointed here. The portions (fried herring, matjes) were large, but we wouldn't recommend the chef. The fried herring had seen a lot of vinegar, but tasted bland and old. The fried potatoes didn't seem freshly prepared; they were sticky, greasy, and a bit like they'd been heated in a deep fryer or microwave. On the other hand, the food arrived on the table barely ordered. Additionally, we were constantly bombarded with pop music. That's not everyone's cup of tea. The service was very friendly. But that alone isn't enough to warrant a return.

Very tasty. There was Hunnersuppe (hunner soup), schnitzel with egg and fried potatoes, and baked pork schnitzel. The passion fruit Aperols were also great.

Super attentive service. The food was excellent. We were there two days in a row. Beautifully located by the old river. We'd love to come back.

Don't let the name put you off. There's more than just lobster. Plenty of delicious fish and meat dishes, along with a beer or wine. We enjoyed our meal, but unfortunately I overlooked the Labskaus (it was listed under meat dishes because it also contains meat), so we have a reason to come back. Consider making a reservation in advance; it can get crowded during peak times.

We arrived quite late, but our order was taken anyway. The lobster soup was particularly delicious, and I only waited about 6-7 minutes for it. The food and drinks were served very quickly, even though there were quite a few customers. The server was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

On August 6, 2025, we visited this restaurant as a couple for the second time. In the past, we've always been satisfied with the selection and quality of the food. Today, I ordered fried cod for €23.40, and as a side dish, I received three small pieces of tail end that were fried dry. Unfortunately, I didn't complain right away, but the disappointment about this inferior food remained until the waitress asked if everything was okay—of course, it wasn't, as anyone who's ever eaten cod knows what such pieces should look like. Now I hope something changes in this regard and I'll get the usual quality next time. I would appreciate a response from the office.

The food was delicious (salmon in cherry tomato/lobster sauce and surf & turf). The ambiance is pleasant, and you can sit outside under umbrellas. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very courteous. We waited a long time for someone to clear our empty plates after the main course. We also had to wait longer for the bill. The waitress never asked if we had any other requests; we were seated by beckoning. Still, I recommend it.

The fish was very tasty. Ambience is like that. The waitresses were very accommodating.

It's well known that one can't expect culinary excellence at the old Strom (apart from a few exceptions like Captain's Schnitzel, Zum Stromer, and Fillini's). But the lobster basket has now perfected this. I don't know whether such a practice doesn't already constitute a criminal offense of malice, and thus should be examined for criminal relevance. Anyone who carelessly orders, for example, a sole (the pinnacle of the dish) enjoys being able to choose their fish by weight at the beginning of service, which is a very fair offer. What is then served, however, is far from a sole, and I don't mean the taste. How uneducated must one assess the guest who fails to recognize this obvious fraud? Serving the fish without the head doesn't help either. Shame on you.

Super delicious and highly recommended. The fries look homemade, and the pasta tasted homemade too. If I'm ever on vacation in Warnemünde again, I'll be back.

Whenever we're in Warnemünde, we always eat at Lobsterkorb at least once. But today we were so disappointed; our sole was swimming in fat! Please don't be upset...we want to eat at Lobsterkorb again on our next visit to Warnemünde.

The waiter was very nice and offered us substitutions if we wanted. He also explained the menu to us and made our experience at this restaurant very pleasant. I highly recommend going with the family, as they also have a children's menu.

Delicious fish at fair prices. Super friendly service, despite the large number of guests. I was there last year and it's nice to see that it hasn't changed.

The dishes are not only beautifully presented, but also delicious. Advance reservations are recommended, as it can get quite busy during peak times.

I'd give a limited recommendation for the food. The new chef isn't up to it. The food tastes bland, the fish is dry, the side dishes... so-so. The only positive thing about the restaurant is the friendly service.

We visited this restaurant for the first time. We were attracted by the great ambiance and the beautiful location. Then my meal arrived (1/2 lobster on tagliatelle), which I was really looking forward to. The lobster was, well, okay. But the rest was unfortunately so unloving, completely tasteless, and simply reheated. Without any seasoning or simply too little. I don't know what concept the chef was following with this dish, but I can hardly imagine it satisfying the palates of the paying guests. Therefore, our next meal will be at another of the countless restaurants we have visited. Perhaps the owner should try this dish in the same format. The location and service were otherwise good. This review refers only to this one dish. Until then, enjoy your meal!

We called spontaneously and got a table for 5 people – excellent service, even on the phone! We received a very friendly and attentive welcome. The food was excellent and even exceeded our expectations. The portions were generous – everyone was more than satisfied, which isn't a given these days. The value for money is absolutely fair, and we felt completely at home. A big thank you to the entire team – we'll definitely be back and will happily recommend you! 👍

Full marks! The food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly—you can tell right away. The option to swap/replace potato side dishes for a carrot and parsnip puree was my personal favorite. And it tasted excellent.

The waiters are very polite and friendly. What I don't understand is that the fish sold in dozens of restaurants and small boats by the sea all come from the freezer and probably doesn't originate from this region. Besides, it doesn't even smell like real fish in this region. I've never smelled fried fish. It's a far cry from real grilled fish and the taste of fresh fish. (Lobster basket too.) All the menus that are sold as salmon are most likely taken from the freezer. All the comments are: very tasty and very good... I think the king is naked. The quality of the fish and the food is very low in a region by the sea and with a sea view. But the restaurants are full, the diners are satisfied, the sellers are happy. Enjoy your meal

Fish isn't necessary – but it can be! A lobster in the aquarium greets you at the entrance, and the tablecloth immediately offers practical tips on how to handle it – very charming! Even though fish isn't really my thing, the seasonal schnitzel with asparagus was a hit. My fish-loving companions were thrilled and practically celebrated their meal. Friendly service, a cozy atmosphere – even if the decor does seem a bit "worn in." Overall, a worthwhile visit for fish fans and schnitzel connoisseurs alike!

Unfortunately the food was disappointing and we expected better quality for the price. Had the rump steak, which was very tough - and didn't taste like steak as it should, rather just like a tough piece of beef, side salad without any spices. Shrimp salad - shrimp skewers greasy, no taste and hardly any dressing on the salad, everything dry with a dry baguette. That was just nothing :/

We were here for the 4th time now. The food is simply delicious. Consistent, very good quality. And we will definitely come back here.

I thought it was very good because the service was super friendly and you could have a nice chat. The food arrived quickly, I had the rump steak which was very good. A friend of mine had used the asparagus, which tasted a bit watery. It's very nice in the evening with the electricity.

Gute Lage direkt am Strom. Ambiente jetzt nichts besonders hervorragend, aber okay. Personal sehr freundlich, Küche leider sehr einfach gehalten bei ordentlichen (für den Gastgeber) Preisen. Man kann für knapp 25€ pro Person (inkl. 1 Getränk) ein einfaches Gericht haben, landet zu zweit mit einer Vorspeise aber locker bei 100€ - fand ich für die Qualität unangemessen. Mein Labskaus kam lauwarm (wurde dann in der Mikrowelle heiß gemacht - für mich okay) und das Schnitzel mit Spargel meiner Frau schmeckte (insbesondere die Kartoffeln) nach gar nix. Convenience-Produkte bei den Beilagen (Rote-Beete aus dem Glas etc.). Würden wir nochmal hingehen? Nein!

The food was really delicious. But the lady who served us and her colleague were absolutely only interested in tips. My fiancé and I were there on March 14th. Dinner at around 2:00 p.m. When my fiancé paid, he also gave a tip like we always do. When I came back from the toilet and we were outside my fiancé said. That the lady who charged us talked to her colleague about the tips that we or other guests paid. The one behind the counter said to the waitress, “THEY must only have 65?? Then the waitress said “yes” and...... the other table?! "They only gave 1 euro" My fiancé overheard the conversation because he was sitting alone in the restaurant and the others had already left. That thought this behavior was totally cheeky and if it was only 10 cents then that was TOTALLY OK!!!!! So I definitely won't be eating there again. When it comes to the operation, you lose your mind!!!!!! I'll give the ladies a tip. If the tips you receive are not enough for you, then complain to your boss that you get paid more, then work will be fun and don't ignore the tips. Really a shame. Because the food was really delicious 😋.

The hunmerkorb is a nice place to stop and enjoy a leisurely meal outside. The service was very attentive. We had crab for starters for €14.50 with a baguette and salad. Everything was okay, but the taste wasn't exactly amazing and it was really cheap for the price. For our main course, we had herring, which tasted good, but the amount was also very small. The lemon chicken with the rice tasted like a defrosted bag of Frosta, and the rice included five forks. (So, for a bill of €66, we were neither full nor worth the money:(...) The Aperol was good, but the cheap plastic straws could perhaps be replaced.

Started the holiday in the lobster basket in Warnemünde today. It couldn't get any better...I'm thrilled without any compromises. Already reserved again for Saturday. Thank you very much and 100% recommended.

Five of us were in the lobster basket this evening and were really pleasantly surprised. Great service, exceptionally tasty dishes and a good beer, what more could you want. We can recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

I was here on the recommendation of a saleswoman from the Ostseebär store. She highly recommended the pike perch with spinach and beetroot mashed potatoes. She probably always eats that. I have to say the recommendation was really good. I didn't know the combination yet and it was really delicious. The service was very friendly, food and drinks came quickly. I'd love to come back.

Went to the lobster basket for the first time today and wanted to treat ourselves to it for Valentine's weekend. The atmosphere is simple and you feel comfortable. At first I thought it would be more upscale but no, it's not like that. Plus point! There are currently 2 dishes with lobster, so the choice is easy. We both had half the lobster on tagliatelle with lobster sauce. Looked incredibly beautifully presented. Tip top. We also liked it, but the sauce was a bit bland. The two very nice service ladies Karen and Netti were very friendly. So great. Only the aquarium should perhaps look a little more well-kept for the guests and the women's toilet was a bit outdated. Otherwise a really good place if you want to try lobster.

One of our regular restaurants: we have never been disappointed.

First of all, the service is very nice, attentive and professional. Hence three stars. The food was rather marginal. Cod fried ok, plaice unfortunately very dry. Potatoes were obviously from the bag - boiled potatoes like fried potatoes. Fries not fried properly. Salad was brown and dressed with ready-made sauce. Absolutely disappointing for the price. Tasted like tourist rip-off. Very unfortunate.

We have been to Warnemünde many times, but never eaten in a lobster basket. We always thought it was an upscale restaurant. However, upon entering it quickly became apparent that things were quite normal here. We thought that was good. We hadn't made a reservation, but were assigned a table without any problems. The staff was very friendly and attentive from start to finish. The menu cards were quickly handed to us.  As for drinks, we opted for dark beer. The choice of food was very easy for me, I wanted fried herrings with fried potatoes and that's what I ordered. My husband is more of a meat eater and ordered steak with seasoned meat and fries. We didn't have to wait long for the drinks. We looked around a bit until the food was served. Unfortunately, the aquarium with lobsters set up in the dining room didn't seem particularly well-maintained to us. Otherwise, the furnishings are rather simple, but that's not a negative point. Then came the food. I was totally satisfied with the three fried herrings and fried potatoes. It was a very pleasant crowd. I really liked the doneness and taste. This fish dish cost around 16 euros, which I think is absolutely reasonable. My husband liked his food too. But when it comes to the price of around 25 euros, I'm a little conflicted. Yes, it's a fish restaurant, but I still think the price for the meat dish is a bit excessive.

Kudos to the entire lobster basket team! We were there during our New Year's Eve vacation and - despite no reservation and the restaurant being full - the 4 of us got a nice table. We really liked the atmosphere and we still rave about the food today. Whether it was a fish plate, herring or steak - we were all completely thrilled and will definitely be back! Top!

Ich war mit meinen Eltern in diesem Restaurant. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Wir haben Steak und Dorsch überbacken mit Würzfleisch gegessen ,was sehr lecker und Frisch geschmeckt hat .Auch der dazu bestellte Gurkensalat war genau nach unserem Geschmack. Also meiner Meinung ein sehr gutes Restaurant mit guter Küche und netter Bedienung. Das Essen kam trotzdem es sehr voll war den Abend sehr schnell .

We had our Christmas party there last week with 8 people. Without any announcement, the waitress stood at the table at 9:59 p.m. with the receipt in her hand and made it clear that the checkout was closing. Impossible and a real shame as the food and wine were very good!

Restaurant is not recommended, the food arrives dripping with fat and has never seen salt or seasoning in general. The fried potatoes were particularly fatty and came with bacon, this was not declared in the menu, I don't eat meat. The fish was fresh, but didn't taste particularly good either. The waitress (black long hair) was super unfriendly, we didn't give a tip.

Service and reception perfect, there is nothing that could detract from it. My dish with lobster sauce and shrimp was good in idea, but taste leaves a lot to be desired, Boring without sophistication. The sauce covers everything else that was added. Already 29.90 euros wasted. Cooking may not be so easy after all. Nevertheless, I wish you much success with your concept.

Gutes bis sehr gutes Essen. 1/2 Hummer auf Tagliatelle war definitiv zu klein und dafür zu teuer - der Fleischanteil entsprach eher einer Hummerkrabbe. Hummer war sehr klein. Die anderen Gerichte waren top und ausreichend. Sehr netter Service, Gerichte kamen zügig. Unbedingt zeitig einen Tisch reservieren.

It is a nice and very easy to reach restaurant. The staff is very friendly and quick on the sole. Always keep an eye on the table when serving or cleaning up. You feel comfortable and the view of the harbor makes it perfect. Now about the food. Since I've been there many times and I always eat here as soon as I'm in the area, I've tried a lot and I can tell you that so far everything has been tasty and very tasty. Even the fried potatoes, although I'm a bit spoiled, tasted very good. The composition of the dishes is well done and if someone doesn't like something, they can also wish it to be different. Right in front of it you also have the opportunity to go to the fish market or take a boat trip through the harbor. The city center is a few steps further and the train station is just around the corner. The Ferris wheel at the harbor is also a must, but you can see it from afar. You also have the option of parking nearby, although in the summer it is of course full and you then have to park a little further away. We visited there yesterday (October 4th). It was a bridge day and the weather was perfect, so it was full of activity. You were placed, which was perfectly fine under the circumstances. The drinks and food came quickly and it tasted very good. The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

Meine Frau und ich waren heute hier essen und sind maßlos enttäuscht. Für einen horrenden Preis bekommt man hier einen halben Hummer, lieblos zubereitet und angerichtet mit Tütensalat und Fertigdressing und sog. „HausMayonnaise“ . Man kommt sich veräppelt und abgezockt vor, wenn man weiß wie Hummer schmecken kann - und wenn man weiß, dass ein schmackhaftes Hummergericht woanders auch für 10 - 15 € weniger zu haben ist . Wir haben jetzt noch Hunger und essen nie wieder hier.

Unfortunately very disappointing! Lobster carelessly prepared and presented - served with bagged salad and ready-made dressing, but still at a completely overpriced price. If you know what lobster can taste like and what price you can otherwise get it for, you feel absolutely ripped off here. Not recommended!

We were happy with everything: food, service and facilities. Will visit the lobster basket whenever we are in Warnemünde again.

Visit lobster basket on September 15, 2024 After we had happily dined in the lobster basket several times in the past, we decided to visit again this year. I chose Surf & Turf (rump steak, ordered medium fried with shellfish and a scallop) together with mineral water and a glass of white wine. What was put on the table was a rump steak with onions and mushrooms, which was also listed on the menu. In response to the objection that it wasn't the food we ordered, the waitress took the plate back and appeared a short time later with the same plate, supplemented by a few shellfish and a whole crayfish as decoration. There were still onions and mushrooms under the steak. When I was told that it was still not the food I wanted and that I couldn't tolerate onions, the waitress took the plate away again and claimed that the steaks were always like that (it would have been the first time for me that I tried Surf & Turf with mushrooms and onions). The plate came back again with the same steak only without onions. I then asked that the dish should be made fresh, as the plate had been brought to the table for the third time and was no longer warm. I also offered to speak to the manager. The plate was taken away and returned some time later for the fourth time with a different service person. The meat still looked the same, but they assured it was fresh from the grill. That was certainly the case, because the meat was no longer cold and medium, but there was also a rest of onion through and under the steak! The fries were probably in the deep fryer again and added more salt; they were greasy and too salty. The scallop was the smallest I have ever seen. That's no way to keep customers! My tip to the restaurant management: train your staff to be friendly and honest towards customers. And instead of a whole crayfish, which cannot be eaten and is added as decoration, it is better to put a sensible scallop on the plate. Furthermore, I don't know whether it's even allowed to keep passing the plate between the kitchen and the guest's table. I ended up eating some of it because I was hungry by now and paid, and definitely for the last time. Another positive thing to note is that the second service person was very friendly and after she noticed that the plate came back several times, she then took over the service. An aquavit was then offered as compensation. All in all, a negative and unfortunately very formative experience.

After a while I found a good fish restaurant

Very friendly service, delicious Hamburger schnitzel and very fresh herring. Added to this is the very good location - definitely recommended!

Food was very good. Fresh scampi and perfect beef steak. Noodles also recommended. Lighting was quite bright, which I found uncomfortable. The lobster tank was a bit dirty on the inside. Definitely a high priced restaurant. However, I think the prices are reasonable for what you get. Otherwise a very pleasant stay with good and friendly service and great food.

The plaice was a little under-seasoned, otherwise nothing to complain about. Service was friendly.

The service was friendly. Without a reservation it was difficult to get seats today. That actually speaks for a restaurant. But when it comes to the clear fish soup, I unfortunately have to agree with some other guests: we found the soup bland and served with far too little fish. We didn't like it that much.

Ate: fried herrings with fried potatoes - that tasted good; instead of a quarter of a tomato, a small side salad would have been better; the raw onion rings are a matter of taste; I would have liked them slightly browned

Verassend dat je dit restaurant in Tripadvisor zoeken moet onder Rostock terwijl het toch echt in Warnemünde ligt op een aardige plek aan de Alter Strom. Ruim terras en minder druk dan de overkant van het water. Ik vroeg naar de zeetong maar kreeg van de vriendelijke uitbaatster te horen dat die er alleen vanaf 800 gram waren. Wat teveel voor mij dus dan maar schol met garnalen. Viel wat tegen. De schol had wat knapperiger gemogen en zo'n handje garnaaltjes voegt niet veel toe. Toch wel een aardige plek zonder pretenties.

A nice fish restaurant right on the water in Warnemünde. Our children invited us to dinner for our silver wedding anniversary. It was just really beautiful. Food and drinks were delicious. I chose the lobster in advance and it was prepared and served to me opened. Unfortunately we had to wait almost 1 ½ hours for the food, but that didn't really bother us as we were in good company. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

I've never eaten so bad in my life. The fish soup was hot water with a crumb of salmon and 3 strips of frozen vegetables. The seasoned meat looked like dog food, without cheese, without lemon. Completely carelessly prepared, no salad garnish, nothing. For 16€!!!!!!

Super delicious tasting food and extremely hard-working employees

Our first visit to the lobster basket, you shouldn't have too high expectations of the food. The service is very good, super friendly, you feel welcome. We didn't have a reservation but still found a place. I have zander fillet with leaf spinach and beetroot mashed potatoes. It was served as a mountain of stomp, on top of that a mountain of spinach and on top of this mountain of pike perch, no garnish, nothing. It was carelessly arranged. Unfortunately the taste wasn't enjoyable either, there was no spice. It was just food for €23.95 and not worth the price. My partner had plaice Büsumer style, i.e. with crabs, we were able to count them, there were 12 pieces. Just as carelessly prepared without any garnish, just placed on the plate and all for a whopping €26.95. For us there will be no second visit after this experience.

Now to the super star ***** We had forgotten our souvenirs there and after consultation, Ms. C sent them home to us, which we thought was very nice. Once again, like every year, for lobster dinner. And as always, an enjoyable day. Service very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent. Always happy and very welcome recommend. Consistent quality. Price performance okay. Short waiting times. Good standard overall. We eat here almost every time we are in the area

We were there exactly 2 times - the first and, for us, the last. Non-alcoholic beer expired and tasted awful, instead of Radler a normal beer was brought, we waited exactly 50 minutes for the main course. Service was very inattentive and despite pointing out that the beer was expired, the waiter didn't respond except to clear it away and not even say an apology or thank you for the tip, but it was still charged. Unfortunately we had to order ketchup and mayonnaise with the fries. Too bad for that.

Unterdurchschnittliche Speisen, phantasielos angerichtet, überdurchschnittliche Preise. Die Preis/Leistungsschere ist riesig. Kein empfehlenswertes Restaurant!! Besser eine einfache Currywurst ein paar Meter weiter in Richtung Kirchenplatz essen. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen und darüber im Freundeskreis reden.
