Hallo Herr und Frau Hummel, danke für Ihre Antwort auf meine Rezension. Das war wohl ein versehen von meiner Seite. Ich bin seit Jahren oft bei Ihnen zum essen. Oft auch mit Freunden, die uns aus dem Ausland besuchen. Wir haben immer top gegessen. Wahrscheinlich habe ich bei der Rezension vor ca. 1Jahr einfach falsch geklickt. Ich verbessere meine Rezension. Oh mein Gott, das tut mir leid, diese Bewertung war nicht beabsichtigt. Ich wollte nur die Fotos posten und muss auf den 1. Stern gekommen sein. Wir kommen immer total gerne und sind sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen, der wunderschönen Lage und dem Service! Alle sind total freundlich, man merkt, dass die Arbeit und der Umgang mit den Gästen Spaß macht. Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächste Saison.

Wunderschöne Strausse mit ganz tollem Ambiente, gemütlich und urig. Etwas kurvige Anfahrt, aber die Atmosphäre ist es wert. Essen sehr lecker, mit Riesenportionen. Hervorragende Weine aus der Gegend.

Stück abgelegen aber tolle Lage, ggf. Spaziergang durch die Weinstöcke bis dort hin möglich. Kleiner Kinderspielplatz vorort. Gutes Essen und Bediehnung trotz vollem Haus/Außenbereich. Parkplatz für Wohnmobile reichlich vorhanden. Gerne wieder

Wir haben hier köstlich gegessen! Die Atmosphäre war fantastisch! Was für eine wunderschöne Umgebung; schon die Fahrt dorthin ist ein Genuss. Auch der Service war hervorragend. Meiner Meinung nach verdient dieses Restaurant mehrere Sterne.

​Ein riesiges Dankeschön an das gesamte Team! Wir sind am Freitagabend nach einer langen und anstrengenden Autofahrt spontan vorbeigekommen. Trotz ausgebuchtem Haus haben die beiden Chefs nicht lange gezögert und alles möglich gemacht, damit wir nicht hungrig weiterziehen mussten. Der Service war trotz des Trubels blitzschnell und wahnsinnig freundlich. Hier ist der Gast wirklich noch König. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt! Das Ambiente ist sehr einladend gestaltet. Danke! :)

Per Zufall diese tolle Strauße entdeckt und total begeistert. Der Chef selber war sehr bemüht, uns ein Plätzchen einzurichten. Das Personal überdurchschnittlich sehr freundlich. Das Essen wurde, trotz vollen Haus, sehr schnell serviert und hat super lecker geschmeckt. Sehr zu empfehlen👌, wir kommen sicher wieder

Tolle Location, super netter und schneller Service. Essen kam auch sehr schnell und sehr lecker. Für die Kids ist es super am Brunnen oder Spieli gegenüber spielen zu können. Wir kommen gerne wieder und dieses mal mit genügend Cash 🙈😅👍

Tolles Strauß Essen sehr lecker ich hatte Schnitzel mit Spätzle und die Wahl Braten oder Rahmsoße und kleiner Salat alles sehr gut . Es gibt auch Spargellgerichte bis zum 31.05.26 ist noch geöffnet Natürlich gibt es Flammenkuchen, Leberle und wurstsalat dazu Beilagen und Putenstreifen mit champion und salat Garnitur und Maultaschen gibt es auch alles sehr lecker. Atmoshärisch draußen bei schönem Wetter auf Festbänken Drinnen im vorderen teil sehr gemütlich im hinteren teil sehr gemütlich etwas laut aber schön. Bedinungen freundlich Schnell je nach betrieb auch aber sehr bemüht auf jeden fall. Toiletten sauber Alles in allem ein toller Gemütlicher Ort zum verweilen Dessert gibt es auch und die cocktails sind auch nicht zu verachten. Leute es war ein Toller Muttertagsausflug ,

Gutes Essen, sehr nette und freundliche Bedienung sowie eine sehr schöne Aussicht machen es würdig besucht zu werden.

Wir haben fantastisch gegessen und uns ganz herzlich und familiär aufgehoben gefühlt. Super Service und ein toller Chef, der alles im Blick hatte und auch persönlich trotz vollem Lokal einen lockeren Spruch für uns parat hatte. Danke auch für das leckere Brot! Ja wie der Name schon sagt ist es eine Straussi - d.h. nicht ganzjährig geöffnet und eher mit etwas Bierzeltathmosphäre. Doch das Essen ist sehr gut und der Wein natürlich auch :-) Und das Ganze zu fairen Preisen....

Great ostriches, a huge selection of super-tasty food. The chef is always available. Great atmosphere. It's best to make a reservation, as it gets very busy.

We visited Hummels Viehweid-Straußi for the first time yesterday, dropping in spontaneously on a Saturday evening without a reservation. The restaurant was already full, but the proprietor still seated us after a short wait. The inn was beautifully and comfortably decorated, and the food was delicious. The proprietor's hospitality and service also deserve special mention. We would be happy to return.

Beautiful bouquets, open seasonally. Baden-style food, local wines, and plenty of activities (playground, etc.) for children. Perfect for combining with a walk or hike.

There are good dishes, it usually goes quickly and you can also make a reservation

It's very nice there when there aren't too many guests. Easy to reach, we were satisfied.

The food was very good, and the service was attentive and friendly. One star deducted for having to keep dogs outside, and the other star deducted for accepting only cash payments. That's absolutely not up to date...

Lovely atmosphere and delicious food! Super friendly staff. And for those of you who aren't from here: don't worry—there's no ostrich on the menu 😅 Straußenwirtschaften (Straussen taverns) are winegrower-run inns. In Franconia, they're called Heckenwirtschaft (Heckenwirtschaft).

In 2025, we celebrated several events with around 45 people at Hummels Viehweid Straußi – simply impressive! Despite the large group, all the à la carte dishes arrived at the table at the same time, hot and perfectly prepared. The food was fantastic, and the service was super friendly and attentive. The location amidst the vineyards is stunning – ideal for strolling and enjoying the scenery. We spent many wonderful hours there. The only minor drawback: no beer, but excellent wines from their own production. A true Straußi! Absolutely recommended – we'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful family celebration with about 60 people at Hummels Viehweid, which can easily accommodate twice that number. The surrounding vineyards are reminiscent of Tuscany, and the ambiance is rustic inside and atmospheric outside. The owners are extremely easygoing and helpful. The next party is already planned. During the off-season, only drinks are served. Catering tip: Sun in Malterdingen!

We have been to the cattle pasture several times and are completely satisfied every time. The staff in particular are always very friendly and accommodating. Even if the meal takes a long time (which is understandable given how busy it is) it's worth every minute of waiting! The atmosphere is very nice and inviting, the beer garden is really cozy with the trees The price-performance ratio is top. We would be happy to come back at any time. At the end of a narrow path that winds between meadows, you arrive at this rustic and warm restaurant. Delicious, picturesque dishes from the region, large tables, a beautiful terrace. Be careful, don't serve beer!

Great rustic ostriches, clearly remote from the town but definitely worth the journey. The atmosphere outside is particularly beautiful. Very friendly service, great small selection of dishes and a good selection of wine. The schnitzel and Weisburgunder are particularly delicious.

Prices have risen drastically. Juice spritzer 0.5 costs 5.60 euros. Schnitzel with brägele 15.50 euros. It's no longer a strausenwirtschaft level... The taste was good, but just normal home cooking. Extra cutlery - 1 euro, extra plates - 1 euro... Outrage

The entire staff is very friendly and accommodating, even if it is certainly very stressful for the staff because all the seats are occupied, which doesn't surprise me since it is always cozy and often accompanied by musical performances. The food is very good, and good portions too. For me there is nothing to complain about. Me and my daughters always enjoy going there.

Very good restaurant! It's been a long time since I've enjoyed so much in a restaurant, the portions of the dishes are great, well loaded and everything is homemade! The products are of very good quality! The price is really inexpensive for the quantity and quality. It’s rare that I leave a tip in a restaurant but I didn’t hesitate at all! Very friendly staff, they take the time to explain to you.

Sehr schöne Gaststätte in ruhiger Lage, mit umso besserem Essen! Die Schnitzel mit Brägele (Bratkartoffeln) und Bratensoße sind sehr zu empfehlen. Die Portionen sind voll umfänglich und dürften selbst den hungrigsten Dominik satt bekommen. Junges engagiertes Personal, welches stets kompetent und freundlich ist.
