Eating was a pleasure. Service was also nice and helpful. Prices are not cheap but acceptable given the location.

You could recommend this place, but waiting an hour with a child was not an expected disappointment. Always the same, no staff...

"CIAO, forever – an Italian nightmare in Berlin-Wannsee" Sometimes you know after just a few minutes that it will be an unforgettable evening. Unfortunately, not because the food is that good - but because you wonder whether you might have accidentally stumbled upon a hidden camera. In the CIAO restaurant in Berlin-Wannsee, the culinary adventure began with a "bang": the mixed Italian starter revealed a carpaccio that had apparently been teleported directly from the freezer to the plate. When asked, the charming answer came: "That's usual for us." Probably also the dispassion with which the ice-cold bovine snowman was presented to us. After all – after a touch of mercy, it was swapped for a less frosty version. Progress! The water was poured so vigorously across the table that I seriously considered whether I should have brought rubber boots. Maybe a small indoor lake is part of the Italian flair? Then the chicken - a masterpiece of contradictions: half half charred, the other half so raw that I briefly considered whether I should give the poor animal a name. The complaint was followed by the sensational statement: "This type of chicken cannot be prepared any other way." Oh right! Why haven't all the star chefs figured this out yet? The wine? Stood decoratively on the table, all alone. No pouring, no service – self-service is obviously part of the philosophy of the house. Probably the innovative do-it-yourself concept I'd just never heard of. To top it all off, the main course came while we were still munching on the starter - apparently the principle "the main thing is to get rid of it quickly" applied here. The dish was then kept warm and – as if by magic – served again exactly four minutes later. Almost as hot as the anger that was slowly building up inside us. The sauce for asparagus? A culinary nightmare out of the bag, reheated, soulless and about as Italian as a can of ravioli from the gas station. Conclusion: CIAO – finally. If you have a passion for frozen carpaccio, half-live chicken and are uninterested in guest service, this is the place for you. Everyone else: avoid at all costs. There are so many great ways to waste money - this store shouldn't be one of them.

When we arrived at the restaurant we were immediately intercepted and asked if we wanted something to eat or drink. When I answered that we wanted to eat something small and drink something, we were immediately complimented. It's a shame, we would have liked to have dessert, especially since the restaurant wasn't even half full.

Yesterday I was in the restaurant with the new management for the first time. The first impression was very good, but when a lady at the next table in the garden asked for a second blanket, I pricked up my ears for the first time. A "gentleman" said in a not very courteous tone that they could go in, then gave a second blanket after answering in the negative. After we ate and paid with a very friendly young waiter, I have to say first of all that my daughter wears a mask indoors. We walked through the restaurant to the exit when I heard a waiter making fun of my daughter for wearing a mask. I think it's disgraceful, if these employees thought they had to make fun of it, please do so in such a way that the guest doesn't hear it. It's a shame that something like this has to happen in a really nice restaurant with a beautiful garden IP

We celebrated our wedding here and were completely happy! The service was excellent and the food was outstanding - our 50 wedding guests were all able to enjoy their warm food at the same time. It was also nice that we could enjoy the good weather outside in the garden. Many thanks to the team who made it possible for us to have a stress-free and beautiful wedding!

Super tasty!!! Nothing negative. If you're not very hungry (and don't have parents), you definitely shouldn't order pizza. It's so delicious that you'll just keep eating it. It doesn't matter if you're still hungry.

I can only recommend a very nice and clean restaurant, very nice waiters and also very nice to children.

I've eaten at Ciao twice so far. - Once at lunchtime and once at dinner. The restaurant offers a very nice, clean and stylish atmosphere. Both times the service staff was extremely friendly, attentive (but not intrusive), very quick and personable. As main courses so far we have had pizza (tonno) and pasta (spaghetti aglio e olio con scampi and tagliatelle porcini. All dishes were very tasty, beautifully presented and the portions were very generous. For desserts we tried the tiramisu and the chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream and also both times were excellent. Fresh bread and a plate with vinegar and oil were served first. The price-performance ratio is 1a! It's a pleasure to come back and I'm looking forward to a visit in the summer when you can sit outside in the garden by the water.

Today we were lucky and the food was served after 40 minutes. ‐----------‐----------------------------# Next attempt: After some time and back and forth, the Hubertusbaude has opened again, now as Restaurant Ciao: Everything is new, chic, very elegantly furnished with marble and carpeting. Great ambience, but still a very loud atmosphere. There are a lot of wait staff, all of whom seem somehow busy, without quickly and constantly taking care of a large table. It's strange when the waitress folds napkins rather than wanting to serve more drinks... We waited 20 minutes for the menu, then 30 minutes for the starter and then 1:15 hours for the food, that's far too long! When you look into the small kitchen, the trained guest will recognize the bottleneck... Some of the food is very good, even though my Salami Picante pizza only had 5 slices of salami on it, nothing more. This is a bit thin...

Unfortunately very poor service and left without food! Single older lady sat down at an unreserved table for four by the water at lunchtime, the restaurant is not fully occupied. The waiter comes and abruptly points us to a seat further back, saying that we would like to reserve the table later. The tone is rude and arrogant, which is a shame because they actually wanted to test eat for a larger celebration. Not recommended!!

Absolutely not recommended, the staff was very unfriendly and very careless towards us, we had to wait about 45 minutes for our food despite repeated requests. We have now been to this beautifully located Italian restaurant several times on the site of the former Hubertusbaude between Stölpchensee and Griebnitzsee. The interior is extremely tastefully decorated with large windows facing the huge garden and water. Every time we and our companions were extremely impressed by the quality of the food. Even a short wait doesn't change that. Keep it up.

It's simply a restaurant that does Italian food. If you want something to drink, you are sent to the adjacent beer garden, even though the restaurant was empty and we had made a reservation for the evening. You have to order and pay for small nice things, like bruschetta or olives, and you don't get grappa or espresso after payment. Apparently there is a fear of not reaching break even. The location is beautiful. But it is not Italian, which is evident in many details.

I would rather give five stars, but I can't because: 1. Our food didn't come at the same time, but more than five minutes late. 2. The menu says ice cream, but there is none - much to the displeasure of the children. 3. If I pay 19 euros for a lasagne, I would like to be full, but I wasn't despite the starter. Otherwise great: Cozy location by the water, tasteful and high-quality furnishings, friendly staff. Keep it up and it will soon be five stars!

We wanted to test the difference between the outdoor restaurant and the beer garden at Ciao... All tables in the restaurant are set with high-quality tablecloths, even outdoors. Where you can also eat outside. Cutlery and other utensils are in a box on the table. We were assigned a seat/table by a waiter. We were greeted in typical Italian style. We studied the food and drinks menu extensively. Which seemed normal and overpriced to us for what was offered. The access to the beer garden next door was directly blocked off with a table?? We then had to go through the restaurant into the beer garden/selvservice drinks cabinets and food serving menu the same and drinks/prices the same. In addition there were fries and currywurst or Vienna sausages on offer. We then enjoyed a crystal wheat from the bottle and a dry white wine for a total of €11.50 White wine €1 cheaper!! But then we had a magical spot right on the canal under a parasol... CONCLUSION: Great location when the weather is nice. No difference in prices between the restaurant and the self-service beer garden (rip-off). Parking space is good. Toilets etc. left a very clean impression. Ciao Ciao Bella. We prefer the little one thrown around the corner.

First of all, the administrator should respond to reviews.... Let's see. We were guests at "Ciao" for the first time. We were promised a lot after being able to see it from the water side during the renovation. Great location, very nice and large area, which is divided into a beer garden and a restaurant. We were outside in the restaurant and had reserved a table. After we found a parking space somewhere in the middle of the forest, we arrived 8 minutes late. Our reservation obviously didn't exist. We had reserved online. Maybe it would be better to call the restaurant directly!!! Anyway, that was the first 10 minutes we had to wait. However, we each got a Prosecco on the house for the inconvenience! Super. Tables from inside the restaurant were constantly being moved outside. It was very well filled. After we were allowed to move into our table, we waited another 30 minutes until we proactively asked a very busy waiter for drinks. I would describe the quality of the food as good. Very small (pasta) portions! Therefore quite unreasonable price! Two cokes were at room temperature at best! When we asked for ice cream, the already very brash colleague in the bar said "he always has his own special requests"... Even if it was a joke between colleagues, we should act a little more serious. It's not Curry 36! Some waiters were fake friendly but uninterested, like asking a blind person for advice on choosing a color! There is no second chance for a first impression. But we will still give the "Ciao" a second chance because we want to believe the positive reviews!

Very very tasty food, the meat was extremely tender and is really the best in the area. The chef is incredibly good. We were a wedding party. But the service ruins the experience because they are slow, don't think, talk for hours in Albanian instead of doing their job. It's also rude to do it for hours when not everyone understands Albanian. In addition, they interrupt you when you are giving a speech or clear away at exactly that moment. If you send them away, they won't come back for a long time. The Sicilian waiter and another young one were the rescue, they were at least charming, quick and hard-working. Maybe the service would be better if you just went out to eat instead of celebrating something, but that would be a shame because the location and the food are really worth it.

Unfortunately the boss said that more tables had to be placed inside out... the poor waiters were really stressed... but the food was great and we were there early enough... before the stress really started...

Due to the hot weather, I was looking for a location by the water. After being assigned a table, I ordered a bottled beer Jever Zitrone non-alcoholic, which I always drink at home. A beer glass came with lemon pulp floating in it and asked what it was?! Apparently the beer in question - it tasted like beer with lemon juice... seeds were also floating in it. What was the brewery thinking 🤣... another waiter saw my moving face and took the glass away. After I had eaten half of the lasagne that had been left carelessly burnt, the newly ordered water also arrived. A waiter never came to our table again and I had to make myself known by waving several times to pay. My companion was more satisfied with her meal. Location is very nice.

We stopped off here during a walk for a beer in the beer garden. There is a self service kiosk where drinks and food can be ordered. There are a number of different areas, including a beach area with deck chairs. The restaurant is separate from the beer garden.

We were there last night with two people. The location is great, there's a lot of space outside, which I personally find very pleasant if you're not so "crammed in". The food was cold, tasted okay, normally good. We found it quite unpleasant to be constantly addressed as “Dottore”. Especially since I guess that the waiters there don't have Italian roots. It's not all that bad, but then don't act like it. That is embarrassing... The salad and wine we ordered were missing from the meal. Fortunately, everything was on the invoice again.. 😉 After we pointed this out, the culprit was loudly sought. That was embarrassing again. Conclusion: Go there again? Oh no...

We were there for the first time last week and we felt super comfortable there from the moment we entered until we heard "Ciao". Inside, stylishly set tables and a rather upscale first impression all around (far from the “waiting hall / train station atmosphere”, as you can read here). Outside, the restaurant and beer garden is very cozy and attractively decorated and the welcome was also very personable and friendly. This friendliness and attentiveness continued throughout the 2 hours we spent there, at a table right by the water. It's always nice that, especially in Italian restaurants, you are almost always served by friendly and cheerful staff, and this is also the case here. (And with that also the note that at least we can't understand the partly negative reviews about the personal service on site!? However, as an ex-Gastrom I think it's often up to the guests - because whoever is in a restaurant behaves as if he owned the shop himself, which can of course also be unlucky that one or two service staff acknowledge such behavior... ;-) We treated ourselves to two starters (bruschetta and the recommended antipasti plate), both of which were delicious. For the main course I had a breaded veal schnitzel with fresh chanterelles in a cream sauce and my sweetie had a fried salmon steak with a selection of vegetables - both with potatoes. Both of these dishes tasted great too. The only thing I, as a "good eater", could complain about was that there were only 3 normal-sized quartered potatoes on the plate (with the salmon there were only 2 that were "hidden in the vegetables") - because it would be a "filling side dish". In the end, without prior starters, it wasn't enough satiety for me... ;-) But perhaps (probably?) you could have also ordered 2 potato quarters or reordered them without being charged a few euros extra . And what I also noticed in this regard: In my schnitzel, the potatoes would have looked much more visually appealing with a little (more) green (chives/parsley, etc.) (as we all know, the eye always eats with us ;-) In terms of price/performance ratio, the whole thing was entirely appropriate for the location, the ambience, the service and of course the culinary offerings. In this sense: Overall, we were satisfied and even if it's not right around the corner from us, we will definitely come back - and to the entire "Ciao" team, we also say: Please keep it up :-)

It's a lovely place to sit by the water and watch the boats go by. We were there 2 weeks ago and it was fantastic: attentive waiters, there was white bread, olives and olive oil - like a good Italian restaurant. The saltimbocca came with a side dish: a few potato wedges and some vegetables. A sensational minestrone. Today we were there again, we were always annoyed about the bad service and the food was pretty good. It's just too far away and far too expensive for that. Risk of recurrence 20%.

Super quiet location, in the middle of the forest, right on the canal, you can watch the water sports enthusiasts rowing past you. Everything overall ok. Food is completely okay, but not famous (tagliatelle salmon, penne fillet tips). Nice to sit outside. Service overloaded and very friendly, food also took a long time. Prices ok too. Unfortunately no bread with it. 4 stars means that everything was great, but not outstanding. Thanks for the espresso on the house because everything took so long.

White crackling gravel under shady giant chestnuts right by the water, hydrangeas and well-kept decorations everywhere. The ambience is hard to top. The salad with fillet and avocado was very good. The restaurant was busy, but service was still fast, always funny and polite. You feel comfortable and welcome. Very nice restaurant Service a bit slow Pizza was really very good. Prices are fair and the atmosphere is nice.

You walk in and think station lobby or waiting room? WHERE IS THE ITALIAN COMFORT? A waiter who probably didn't feel like working was definitely in a bad mood. Cutlery that is simply dirty with vegetables stuck to the back. (Unfortunately you can't attach a picture otherwise the review won't be posted!) To eat you get bread that is too hard even for the ducks, so the waiters then feed the ducks this bread, and they then smoke on the side of the guests. The starter was a tomato soup that wouldn't taste like anything without the basil leaf, the main course was scaloppa... vegetables soaked in oil and that was it. Absolutely unjustifiable in terms of price, but the money for the renovation has to be put back in, as a guest you feel like a nuisance.

Unfortunately we had to leave early because we were afraid we would continue to receive poor service. First of all, we were reprimanded for sitting at the table alone, even though we were seated at the table personally by the Chef de Service. Then it probably took 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table. After 20 minutes I asked the service about the confusion and the slow service, and we were told that we hadn't ordered yet. Exactly, they were right, that was the point, I didn't feel like spending 3 hours there for 2 courses and 2 people. We were then brought the wrong drinks, so we got up and left and only paid for our drinks. The bill didn't come for a long time, so we went to the front ourselves. The food looked very tasty, unfortunately I can't rate it, but the service was not pleasant or good at all. We definitely won't come again and wouldn't recommend it.

We were here to watch football. The staff is incredibly friendly, the drinks are good and they always find a solution that suits the customer. We look forward to the next visit.
