This renovation was truly worthwhile. Everything is very tasteful and functional. There are probably few places in Berlin that are as inviting, close to nature, far from traffic, yet still very easily accessible. Everything was perfect. The spaghetti with calamari was very filling, and the pizza scampi was very satisfying. The service was overall very good. We felt very comfortable.

Excellent. I was invited here for a wedding reception. A wonderful venue with a view of the water and a great outdoor area. Delicious food and super friendly, prompt service. You can still feel at home here, even after hours. Top-notch.

Online reservations were easy; we received a friendly welcome and were able to choose a free seat outside. The menu was served quickly. For dinner, we had bruschetta (€8) and pasta with mushrooms and fillet tips (€19). Very tasty, although a bit on the expensive side, but that seems justified given the location. Finding parking can be difficult, as the on-site spaces fill up quickly and there are few options nearby.

Idyllically located restaurant with a beer garden right on the water. There are also small lounge chairs in the fine sand for that fallow feeling. You can sit here forever and watch the water, the ducks, and the boats. The staff are friendly. The tiny restroom, however, leaves something to be desired 🤷🏼

We were there yesterday. The lasagna, at €16 for that size, is pretty steep. And it arrived lukewarm. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, unfortunately. It's more show than substance.

We went to Ciao again for my father's 88th birthday, and the atmosphere in the garden, right by the water, was simply wonderful. Unfortunately, our visit was rather disappointing due to the large crowds. It was a mild Thursday after the bad weather in July, and the restaurant was accordingly busy: the staff were friendly, but not accommodating. We had to wait a VERY long time for our food, even with the starter. Last year, they brought us some bread with Smile olive oil on the house. This was no longer the case. Also, the bruschetta we ordered—although a generous portion—was unfortunately not toasted but served on soft bread. When we wanted to order the main courses after the starter arrived, we were told with a laugh that the kitchen was being overhauled and we should finish up first. So the whole thing dragged on, and everyone had rumbling stomachs. Many older people are no longer used to eating after 8 p.m., but thankfully, Dad remained in good spirits. The fish dishes were rather modest for the price; my saltimbioka was a good portion, and the taste was nothing to complain about. My references to the birthday boy when ordering dessert were deliberately ignored. No little "bonbon" on the house with a sparkler like the year before. Given the prices and Dad's generous tip, we would have at least hoped for a nightcap on the house. A shame. We'll definitely come back for pizza again, given the fantastic location. But for a special occasion, it's something we'll have to reconsider.

On a beautiful sunny Sunday, the staff were unfortunately overwhelmed, but we were still served relatively well. The prosecco and rosé wine weren't particularly chilled, but the water was. I had reserved in advance, but only after asking for a table by the window, as requested. No bread to begin with, and only after requesting it with the starter. No question about schnapps on the bill, which we didn't want anyway, but I've seen that from my other Italian restaurants. I've been there several times during the week, and everything was more relaxed and friendly. But the food was EXCELLENT - I'd recommend eating there on a weekday.

Ciao is a beautifully located Italian restaurant on the Prinz-Friedrich-Leopold Canal. In good weather, you can sit here by the water. The food is good. The service, however, could be improved. Reservations aren't really helpful. You're directed to free tables. It's also not fun that the main course arrives while you're still on your appetizer. I

Great service, great location, great food. This place lacks nothing when you are looking for a nice dinner. It has been a while since we had time to enjoy eating outside and we could not have picked a better place. If you are going on a weekend for dinner, definitely make a reservation first.

We've now been to this beautifully situated Italian restaurant several times, located on the grounds of the former Hubertusbaude lodge between Stölpchensee and Griebnitzsee. The interior is extremely tastefully decorated, with large windows overlooking the expansive garden and the water. Each time, we and our companions were extremely impressed by the quality of the food. A short wait doesn't change that. Keep it up.

We were there for a family celebration. The tables outside were arranged in such a way that it was almost impossible to get through. The food was delicious and the wine was good. I had to take the baby for a walk. When I returned, the buffet had already been cleared away, even though there was still plenty left. Dessert was served on platters that were quickly emptied. I asked if they could bring another platter, which they said they could, but it never happened. There was no changing table or decaf coffee. The location is very nice.

Beautifully located. Whether inside or outside, you can sit comfortably with a view of the canal. Excursion boats cruise along outside. The staff is friendly and efficient. But the best part was the food. I haven't had such delicious Italian food in a long time. Whether appetizer, main course, or dessert, it's simply fantastic. Drinks, and espresso, are also excellent. Conclusion: highly recommended.

Anything less than 5 stars would be unfair or appropriate. I didn't know the previous owner, so I have nothing to compare it to. I can only say that this restaurant is the ultimate. We came here on a recommendation, and I wasn't disappointed. I invited friends for my birthday, and they were all thrilled. We had reserved just two days in advance and had a great table by the water, overlooking the canal. It was very sunny and very warm. The service was full of Italian charm. You almost felt like you were somewhere in Italy; simply wonderful. The waiter gave a great recommendation for a red wine. Everything was perfect. Our small family club, FV Wannsee e.V., was treated to a wonderful summer party at our partner and sponsor, Ciao. With 74 volunteer coaches, supervisors, referees, and partners, we enjoyed the expansive terrace and garden area in sunny weather. A delicious Italian buffet with pizza, various fish and meat dishes, and desserts crowned the evening.

We've been here several times, and it's always a delight! This evening was no exception: saltimbocca and veal liver with chanterelles – cooked to perfection, simply delicious! And the usual very friendly service! We'd be happy to come back!

First of all: the location is an absolute dream. Pure holiday feeling. The food: okay. Acceptable. However, the wine was a 10 out of 10. The service: hectic and fake-friendly. We didn't feel comfortable. A real shame. And then there was the constant loud bass in the background. It didn't fit the ambiance at all.

Not recommended. The location is great. You sit by the water, everything is very cozy. The food tasted okay. I had a salmon fillet with side dishes. If I'm paying €27 for a meal, I expect it to at least fill me up. The side dishes were a small potato, some broccoli, and beans. The beans were partially burnt. The service was unfriendly and detached. The only person who responded reasonably to our complaint was the manager. That was our first and last time at Restaurante Ciao. There are far better Italian restaurants in the area – both in terms of service and value for money.

Yesterday in the summer garden: Good dishes. 3 pizzas, one pasta. Otherwise: unwilling, incompetent, greedy. While we were ordering at the pavilion, a colleague came by and we chatted extensively in Albanian. My daughter-in-law's attempt to order further was ignored. Only when I sharply interrupted their conversation did something happen. The Pepsi bottle filled my son's glass almost to the mark. Open a new one? No. The table was sticky, and my wife asked for it to be wiped. She was given a sponge to wipe herself. The dishes arrived without cutlery. By the time they finally arrived, I was already out again, annoyed. The toilet hadn't been completely removed. The trash can, without a cover, was overflowing with dirty paper. The restaurant obviously thrives on its location on the Wannsee. But everything is just right here: location, ambiance, service, and value for money. The mixed antipasti platter was very good and plentiful. The food served at the neighboring tables looked delicious. In my opinion, the coveted tables by the water are only given to select regulars, which is entirely understandable. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Berlin.

Disappointing – unfortunately, no longer recommended Ristorante Ciao used to be a good place, but we were very disappointed on our last visit. The beer garden is nice, but the service and food quality left a lot to be desired: – A simple special request was declined without explanation. – One dish was undercooked, and some of the side dishes were raw. – Feedback was not handled professionally; it even led to a discussion. – The complained-about dish was served again on the same plate – unhygienic. – The pizza was also not very fresh and not crispy. We have therefore decided not to eat there again in the future. Recommendation: Ristorante Ciao am See in Kladow or Söhnel Werft in Wannsee – both significantly better in quality, service, and atmosphere.

The pizzas were absolutely amazing. It was the perfect stop on our hike. Sitting by the water with a delicious shandy and watching the boats and ships drift by.

We went there with friends, our first time. It appears to have just opened after a major, very successful renovation. The parking lot is small, the entrance/foyer is very nice, the dining room is very attractive, and the outdoor area is beautifully designed. We were able to sit right by the water. The service was very friendly, the food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. All in all, we had a very pleasant evening! We can happily recommend it, and we'd love to come back.

Very tasty food, very good service and a great view

We were guests at the Ciao restaurant yesterday and celebrated my birthday there. The food is excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very good, very clean, and beautifully decorated. And weather permitting, unfortunately, we weren't there yesterday. But when it's a bit warmer and sunny, the outdoor area right by the water is also great for enjoying. We'll definitely visit again.

Stopped by the beer garden today after a hike. We ate a delicious pizza 🍕 and had a drink. It was beautifully quiet and idyllic. Very friendly staff. We'd happily return.

If I lived in Wannsee or the surrounding area, this would be my regular restaurant! No matter what you order, it's all a dream! I can't say anything more about it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to stop raving about it!

"CIAO, forever – an Italian nightmare in Berlin-Wannsee" Sometimes you know after just a few minutes that it will be an unforgettable evening. Unfortunately, not because the food is that good - but because you wonder whether you might have accidentally stumbled upon a hidden camera. In the CIAO restaurant in Berlin-Wannsee, the culinary adventure began with a "bang": the mixed Italian starter revealed a carpaccio that had apparently been teleported directly from the freezer to the plate. When asked, the charming answer came: "That's usual for us." Probably also the dispassion with which the ice-cold bovine snowman was presented to us. After all – after a touch of mercy, it was swapped for a less frosty version. Progress! The water was poured so vigorously across the table that I seriously considered whether I should have brought rubber boots. Maybe a small indoor lake is part of the Italian flair? Then the chicken - a masterpiece of contradictions: half half charred, the other half so raw that I briefly considered whether I should give the poor animal a name. The complaint was followed by the sensational statement: "This type of chicken cannot be prepared any other way." Oh right! Why haven't all the star chefs figured this out yet? The wine? Stood decoratively on the table, all alone. No pouring, no service – self-service is obviously part of the philosophy of the house. Probably the innovative do-it-yourself concept I'd just never heard of. To top it all off, the main course came while we were still munching on the starter - apparently the principle "the main thing is to get rid of it quickly" applied here. The dish was then kept warm and – as if by magic – served again exactly four minutes later. Almost as hot as the anger that was slowly building up inside us. The sauce for asparagus? A culinary nightmare out of the bag, reheated, soulless and about as Italian as a can of ravioli from the gas station. Conclusion: CIAO – finally. If you have a passion for frozen carpaccio, half-live chicken and are uninterested in guest service, this is the place for you. Everyone else: avoid at all costs. There are so many great ways to waste money - this store shouldn't be one of them.

When we arrived at the restaurant we were immediately intercepted and asked if we wanted something to eat or drink. When I answered that we wanted to eat something small and drink something, we were immediately complimented. It's a shame, we would have liked to have dessert, especially since the restaurant wasn't even half full.

Yesterday I was in the restaurant with the new management for the first time. The first impression was very good, but when a lady at the next table in the garden asked for a second blanket, I pricked up my ears for the first time. A "gentleman" said in a not very courteous tone that they could go in, then gave a second blanket after answering in the negative. After we ate and paid with a very friendly young waiter, I have to say first of all that my daughter wears a mask indoors. We walked through the restaurant to the exit when I heard a waiter making fun of my daughter for wearing a mask. I think it's disgraceful, if these employees thought they had to make fun of it, please do so in such a way that the guest doesn't hear it. It's a shame that something like this has to happen in a really nice restaurant with a beautiful garden IP

We celebrated our wedding here and were completely happy! The service was excellent and the food was outstanding - our 50 wedding guests were all able to enjoy their warm food at the same time. It was also nice that we could enjoy the good weather outside in the garden. Many thanks to the team who made it possible for us to have a stress-free and beautiful wedding!

I've eaten at Ciao twice so far. - Once at lunchtime and once at dinner. The restaurant offers a very nice, clean and stylish atmosphere. Both times the service staff was extremely friendly, attentive (but not intrusive), very quick and personable. As main courses so far we have had pizza (tonno) and pasta (spaghetti aglio e olio con scampi and tagliatelle porcini. All dishes were very tasty, beautifully presented and the portions were very generous. For desserts we tried the tiramisu and the chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream and also both times were excellent. Fresh bread and a plate with vinegar and oil were served first. The price-performance ratio is 1a! It's a pleasure to come back and I'm looking forward to a visit in the summer when you can sit outside in the garden by the water.

Great ambience, but still a very loud atmosphere. There are a lot of wait staff, all of whom seem somehow busy, without quickly and constantly taking care of a large table. It's strange when the waitress folds napkins rather than wanting to serve more drinks... We waited 20 minutes for the menu, then 30 minutes for the starter and then 1:15 hours for the food, that's far too long! When you look into the small kitchen, the trained guest will recognize the bottleneck... Some of the food is very good, even though my Salami Picante pizza only had 5 slices of salami on it, nothing more. This is a bit thin...

Unfortunately very poor service and left without food! Single older lady sat down at an unreserved table for four by the water at lunchtime, the restaurant is not fully occupied. The waiter comes and abruptly points us to a seat further back, saying that we would like to reserve the table later. The tone is rude and arrogant, which is a shame because they actually wanted to test eat for a larger celebration. Not recommended!!
