Exceptional ambience with Italian flair and a good restaurant

A unique hotel facilities and ambience have to be experienced. Excellent food in the house, staff very friendly and helpful. 5 minutes by car to downtown Rosenheim.

Very nice hotel with its own style The Hotel San Gabriele is truly something special and stands out with its own style. The service was good and so was the breakfast, although it is a shame that children aged 5 and over have to pay the full price. In the evening we ate in the restaurant, which we found to be mediocre for the high price. The parking spaces are a bit tight, but the parking attendant sorted well so that there was space for all vehicles. That was very well organized. Overall a pleasant stay with some small areas for improvement.

Very nice hotel with an interesting design: lots of real wood with iron fittings Unfortunately there is no air conditioning or ventilation so after several days of 30+ degrees the rooms couldn't really get cool even at night.

Beautiful, individual hotel. Very nice employee at reception. The bathroom could be a little bigger, but fine for one night. Unfortunately very warm in the room, no air conditioning. Parking spaces are provided free of charge. I can't say anything about the location as it wasn't important to us. I have to deduct one point for the restaurant. The food was quite good. However, the sea bream had lots of bones. The mousse au chocolat was the worst thing I have ever eaten. It was very firm, chewy and rubbery. The waiter wanted to know if it was tasty, which I said yes. He then immediately said that it was probably too tight. So the problem was known. Unfortunately, it was charged for, even though it was known and almost all of it went back into the kitchen.

I give 5 because overall everything was ok....excellent breakfast, wonderful room not to mention the bathroom with Max shower....the restaurant had excellent food, we had a grilled meat on the grill....speechless, delicious, .....like the waiter Nicola.. very kind and also the other one, always Italian and always dressed as a friar... very nice... the only flaw was the suffocating heat and the mosquitoes... remedy this, then you will be the top.....Greetings from Perugia.....Ps. one night stay.

We came to Rosenheim quite spontaneously and stayed in this wonderful and very unusual hotel...if you love individuality, this is the right place for you. And the extension, which will be finished in April next year, should make the stay perfect with wellness etc. as well as an underground car park. We are already looking forward to it!

Great hotel, atmosphere is very cool, breakfast is great

I would like to praise the ladies at the breakfast buffet - THANK YOU! Here the guest is in focus - you are doing a great job! We had dinner in the restaurant and the service here was also great! The food was just as delicious, but unfortunately the portions were a bit too small. Still, all in all great!

The hotel is quite good, but I don't like Italian food and that was a mistake, apart from the fact that it took a very long time before a menu arrived. No complaints otherwise and breakfast was quite good.

Very nice hotel. Each room is individually designed with great attention to detail. Very clean. The service was also very good. We received good advice at reception and were also given tips for excursions, including booking a boat trip on Lake Chiemsee. The breakfast is very good, although it can get a bit crowded when there are a lot of visitors. We were there for a short vacation, so we had time and could wait. The parking spaces also became tight, especially in the evening with the restaurant guests. The restaurant is absolutely recommended. Rustic atmosphere and very good food - should definitely be tried during your stay. We drove into Rosenheim city center by car; the walk was too far for us given the bad weather. We will definitely be back, at the latest when the extension with the wellness area is finished.

Exceptional hotel in the style of a really old abbey, great restoration, lots of selected, solid wood and forged iron. Very cozy! Great, comfortable beds, even for people with back problems. Great breakfast, which you can book with your overnight stay for little money. Selected friendly staff!

It was a wonderful stay at Hotel San Gabriele. The hotel is designed with great attention to detail. The staff was very friendly, we particularly liked Brother Antonio, he spoiled us for two evenings.

Very nice hotel in medieval style, clean rooms with satellite TV, kettle and minibar. Comfortable beds. Parking directly in front of (and next to) the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant offers excellent cuisine, everything we ordered was of high quality - and the waiters were friendly too. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was mediocre and rather meager. The only really negative thing was the WiFi. An unsecured, open WLAN connection doesn't work at all.

Like traveling back in time to the Middle Ages. The rooms are quaint. You feel like you're in a movie. Really cool 😎. Great experience. The breakfast was varied.

Super original hotel in a former monastery. You are always reminded of a monastery without having to forego 4* comfort. Very friendly service. Very great restaurant where dogs are allowed in too. Unfortunately, the construction site right next door and the distance to the old town (35 minutes on foot) spoil the overall impression.

An exceptionally beautiful hotel with a rustic Mediterranean flair. The room is very clean and comfortably furnished. Great breakfast buffet and the restaurant is also highly recommended. The only disadvantage is the few parking spaces around the hotel as the hotel is in a residential area. I'll definitely come back.

I booked the hotel for one night, unfortunately my wife fell ill on the day of arrival. Have to cancel at short notice. Hotel did not insist on the cancellation fee. Thank you very much This is called customer proximity

Were there for the first time, a slightly different hotel, you should see it

We were there and thought it was great. But you also have to get involved with the “monastery idea”. The monastery is lived there. We had a person with walking difficulties who was well over 2 m tall. This will be tight with the tables and also with the room entrance doors. We met a lovely overweight lady who said, "Ui, ui! I won't be able to fit in next year." Gallows humor. But. Despite it! Very cool. And after we lost the room key, we were invited to an aperitif for the inconvenience. Us! We lost him!? We thought it was great, different, exciting. The food looked great. We couldn't eat due to lack of time and had to leave. 5 of us!

The hotel is located in the middle of a settlement. The photos on the internet don't really indicate this. The shower was broken. The room was much too small for this price. Yes, and the view from the window was amazing, exactly of the shell of the building with scaffolding the whole night it rattled with every gust of wind. The food on the first day was good, but on the second day the table next to us was given bread and olives, but we weren't? Yes, and the starter plate with various dishes and vegetables has, strangely enough, shrunk compared to the day before and there was no longer any bread and olives. But the price remained the same .4 stars??

Beautiful location, everything coordinated holistically. Service from reception to restaurant area and cleaning was very courteous and polite. Be sure to enjoy the food on site, excellent. It was an experience to be here and we will definitely repeat it. A piece of Italian-Mediterranean fortress flair in Rosenheim. By far the most beautiful atmosphere we have ever experienced in a hotel.

Relatively well located. City within walking distance. Parking space included and free of charge. Good breakfast, nice atmosphere, it's something different... It would be possible that we could stay there again.

Quaint hotel, you feel like you've been transported back to the Middle Ages. But still furnished in the most modern way. Some very "designed things", such as the shower walls and doors, are designed in such a hyper-modern way that they don't close properly and you flood the entire (very small) bathroom when you shower. Service with coffee supply at breakfast leaves something to be desired, as filter coffee is only served upon request. Otherwise everything was great!

THE HOTEL IS REALLY TOP. The staff was very friendly and always helpful, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is very warm and offers a lot of peace. The style is reminiscent of a real vacation!

What a bad old not fresh hotel Everything is old, bumpy floors, elevations, steps, thresholds, narrow, yes, an old monument, but not as a hotel for the elderly Restaurant full of dark wooden benches, no comfort but the price! Please note: we did not want waterbeds, the hotel says this is what you booked, but unfortunately we did not get another room. Receptionist was very unfriendly, we had a very bad night, the bed was also too warm. Reported again “it was our problem” Rude how the email exchange subsequently became "We are guests with a question" just answering would have been polite and it may have been that the hotel was full, but it certainly wasn't. Never again for us There are plenty of other choices in the region Parents and people with disabilities should not go at all!!!!

The hotel is really worth a visit. The staff tries hard. The rooms are old style with very high quality furniture. What we were missing was just a bit of decoration as the rooms or the entire hotel are very sparsely decorated.

Außergewöhnliche Erfahrung: Für ein Hotel einzigartiges Ambiente, absolut freundlicher Check-in und Check-Out sowie leckeres Essen im Restaurant. Die Baustelle für den Anbau stört zwar aktuell ein wenig - allerdings macht diese zeitgleich auch Lust auf den nächsten Besuch. Wie von der Rezeption erfahren, entstehen hier weitere Zimmer, ein Wellnessbereich, eine Bar sowie mehr Parkplätze in einer Tiefgarage. Ich freue mich drauf!

Everything was fine except they loaded a bag of peanuts into the mini bar in our room. They put this detail at our expense.

Oh my god this place is superb! I cannot even believe we found it on accident and second the price was so reasonable for this incredible castle! Yes I did say castle! A real one(but newly constructed) with a modern makeover and old world feel. There’s really nothing better than an accident like this! Will be back for sure!!!

Very fine Italian restaurant. Excellent cuisine. Friendly service. Special atmosphere. A special experience. Every time again.

The hotel is housed in an old monastery and is located in a newer residential area. The house itself is very rustic, thick, old walls of the former monastery give the first impression. Our room was on the second floor, quiet and nicely decorated. The wooden furniture with “woodworm decor” is very funny. The bathroom was big enough with a bidet. Unfortunately our room was unheated (December) and therefore cold. The heating is probably controlled from below. But since we didn't stay in the room, it wasn't so bad. The door opening of the rooms also takes some getting used to, so we had to practice first. We didn't have breakfast. Conclusion: a nice hotel if you are traveling south

Wunderschönes Hotel,mit tollem Service, leider aktuell ab 7 Uhr mit extrem lauten Baulärm vor der Tür, wodurch an schlafen nicht zu denken war.... das war leider unser letzter Aufenthalt hier...

Schönes, extravagantes Hotel und sehr gutes Restaurant. Die Parksituation ist sehr schlecht im angrenzenden Wohngebiet (wird wohl nach Umbau wieder besser). Und auf die Mönchskutten der Mitarbeiter im Restaurant könnte ich auch verzichten.

Ist immernoch eines der Besten Hotels in Rosenheim, Uhrig eingerichtet und ein sehr gutes Italienisches Lokal mit dazu. Wir kommen immer gerne hier her.

Über die Zimmer kann ich nichts sagen, wir waren nur zum Essen dort. Essen hervorragend. Name des Restaurants.... Il convento 😋😋

This was the best hotel we've ever stayed in.

Wer ein mittelalterliches Ambiente mag, sollte sich das Restaurant im Hotel San Gabriele nicht entgehen lassen. Etwas abseits gelegen wirkt dieses Gebäude, als würde es eine jahrhundertalte Geschichte erzählen wollen. Wer durch die hölzerne Eingangstür schreitet, hat zudem das Empfinden das Quietschen der alten Scharniere hören zu können. Brennende Kerzen schenken dem Restaurant ein warmes und gemütliches Ambiente. Liebevoll eingerichtet erzählt das Restaurant tatsächlich durch seine Aufmachung eine Story von Reisenden, welche sich hier im Mittelalter wohl getroffen, gemeinsam gezecht und eine lebenslustige Zeit erlebt haben. Das Ganze wird noch dadurch verstärkt, dass die Kellner in einer Mönchskutte ihre Gäste bedienen. Italienisches Essen, schmackhaft zubereitet und liebevoll angerichtet wird so durch eine Hauch von Mittelalter begleitet serviert. Der ganze Abend wurde durch all die kleinen Details zu einem Erlebnis, weshalb ich jederzeit gern wieder hierher zurück komme.
