Hotel Restaurant Stadthaus in Müllheim

I stayed there for two days for a company meeting. The location is right on the main road at the roundabout and not exactly ideal. The traffic noise in my room was manageable in the evening, but in the morning, the traffic starts as early as 5 a.m., which can be a problem for light sleepers. The bathroom (especially the shower) is quite small, but it has underfloor heating, which I couldn't find anywhere to turn off. I'm sure you could ask the staff about that. The mattress was too thin for me personally, but that's certainly subjective. The access to the hotel is good, there are plenty of parking spaces, including some with charging stations for electric cars. The rooms themselves are clean, but the furnishings are simple (at least mine were). The food is upscale and really delicious. Kudos to the chef. This isn't home cooking; you have to like that. The barbecue in the evening was good, though! The breakfast is fine; everything you need is there, and the staff keeps you supplied. There can be a queue at the coffee machine at certain times, but that's manageable. The attentive and friendly staff deserves special mention. A real highlight.

A totally unreasonable person. I just politely asked him to calm down his big Labrador so that he wouldn't run around us while we were eating because it's not a zoo, it's a restaurant. The man went completely crazy and since he was aggressive, I tried politely to calm him down, but you can't make a smart man out of a fool, so I will never go there again in my life, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. The owner is a totally sick man who needs urgent treatment.

The lamb's lettuce was fresh, but the bacon was very salty and the dressing very oily. The roast beef was so dry, the animal died for nothing. The gravy was obviously from a packet and tasted so strongly of starch that I couldn't eat it. The spaetzle were okay, but nothing special. A small addendum: the roast beef cost €26, and for that price, I received a piece of meat so dry I've rarely experienced anything like it, accompanied by an overly concentrated powdered gravy from a packet and unappetizing, unseasoned spaetzle. An absolute outrage, and in my opinion, bordering on fraud.

We were at the TEMPEL today, December 20, 2025, for our Christmas party. It was our first time there. The service was very friendly and professional. We felt very well looked after at all times. Nothing was ever lacking. We were also regularly asked if we needed anything else. Five stars for the service! The food was equally impressive. Everything was fresh, expertly prepared, very varied, and delicious. It also deserves five stars. It's still a young establishment, so there's a little room for improvement in the ambiance. In short: we've already said we'll be back.
