It's showing its age, and this is reflected everywhere. It's sufficient for one night.

We stayed at the hotel over the weekend and had a pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly, and the service in the restaurant was also flawless. The menu offered a wide selection, including various schnitzel dishes. Other dishes, such as steaks and poultry, were also available. The owner of the hotel was often among the guests. Only the rooms remained unchanged. Despite everything, we will definitely stay at the hotel again.

The bike garage was very difficult to access, with two large steps and located directly on a slope. The rooms were very noisy. The rest was fine. The staff was friendly.

Three of us stayed at the Hotel Martina for two nights, each staying in a single room with a balcony. The rooms were partially renovated and featured new flooring and furniture. Each room had a balcony. To be honest, we found the shower curtains a bit "unappealing," and the bathrooms also needed to be renovated. But since we weren't in the rooms during the day anyway, it was okay. The breakfast was very good! Everything you could imagine was there: various types of bread and rolls, cold cuts, cheese, jam, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, muesli, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, fruit juices, milk, and much more. The staff was very friendly and lovingly set and decorated the breakfast table for our birthday girl. A big thank you again for that! The hotel is located on a quiet side street and is just a two-minute walk from the center of Bad Sooden.

The hotel is beautifully located, has a 1960s charm, and smells just like it. There was a bottle of water in the room, which you had to pay for with €1, and the breakfast cappuccino also had to be paid for at reception before it was served. There was canned fruit salad. The room was nice and large, but very noisy. For two nights, we had to listen to the snoring and coughing from the next room and couldn't sleep. The price-performance ratio is completely out of proportion; the room could have cost €80, which would have been fine. For €150, I can stay in Berlin, right on Ku'damm, in a beautiful, modern hotel with a decent breakfast including a cappuccino.

The telephone service, the proximity to the city, and the train station, as well as the location, led me to this hotel. The room had a beautiful balcony with a view, and there was a bottle of water there...

I've been coming there for many years. The rooms and service are always excellent. It's in its original 1970s condition and very friendly.

On a cycling tour along the Green Belt, we stayed at the Hotel Martina. The service was good. The rooms were satisfactory, and the breakfast was good. We were able to store our bikes in a locked room. The location is centrally located in the spa district, and the town is also within walking distance. We would be happy to return.

This was my second time at the Hotel Martina. My wife was there for a six-month rehabilitation stay. The hotel is a bit dated, and some of the rooms have been renovated. But it was perfectly fine for me. The room and bathroom were clean. I had a room with a balcony once and one without. The view was still very nice. The area and the hotel's location are beautiful, and you can reach many places on foot.

We were with a working group of 11 people for an afternoon meeting at the Hotel Martina, then had dinner, stayed overnight, and left after breakfast. The hotel is a typical 1970s building with some truly quirky features, like the radio built into the wall unit – but it was friendly, clean, with a beautiful view from the balcony, comfortable beds, and a very good shower. All of the meeting participants were very satisfied, starting with the meeting support. The dinner was very good, the service attentive. The breakfast was plentiful – at an incredibly reasonable price. And all of this was just 800 meters from the train station, next to the spa gardens and the pleasant historic center of Bad Sooden (a walk before dinner!). A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

I stayed at this hotel for two nights for work. From the outside it had a traditional impression, the location is very quiet and the city center can be reached in a few minutes on foot. The late check-in via key safe worked perfectly. The rooms are dated but at least the bed was comfortable. However, the cleanliness left something to be desired and I discovered an insect in the bathroom. The furnishings are in need of renovation, but are sufficient for just an overnight stay. A big annoyance was the mini TV that didn't even work. Despite repeated requests, I was not helped and a room change or replacement device was not offered. And I heard from some work colleagues that their TV wasn't working either. So folks, it's just a matter of luck whether you get a room with a working TV. This left me with the impression that short-term guests are less valued because I was not helped at all and I felt completely alone in the room, in the silence. The breakfast was at a minimum level and not very appealing, while the everyday dishes in the restaurant looked very good. The food looked very tasty and I was impressed by the diversity of German cultural cuisine. The city is mainly known for its rehabilitation facility and the thermal baths, but is otherwise rather quiet and geared towards older guests. There were no restaurants open in the evenings. After 10 p.m. the city offers nothing else, apart from a few gas stations, McDonalds and one or two brothels. Conclusion: Okay for a short overnight stay, but the outdated ambience (a matter of taste), the lack of hygiene (insects in the bathroom) and the weak service (no television) speak against a return visit. If you expect comfort and a good breakfast, or are looking for a little more than just old architecture and landscape, you should look for an alternative.

We were only there for breakfast. You could help yourself from the buffet. Scrambled eggs were freshly prepared. Everything else was standard. I missed grain rolls.

Very centrally located on the shopping street. Clean rooms and a cozy restaurant. Varied food. Very accommodating staff, including the chef.

We've wanted to eat here for years, but for some reason it never happened. Now it finally worked out, and what can I say... It was the right decision! We all enjoyed the food excellently and the service was first class. All of this at a fair price. We definitely won't wait years to come back again. Very bad hotel that doesn't deserve the name! Unfriendly staff! The room was a catastrophe and there were cobwebs and spiders everywhere. When I asked the reception if they could get rid of it, the only answer was that there was no one left to do it! The bed was so uncomfortable, there was a wooden board under the mattress, whatever that was used for, the bed linen was dirty, the TV was broken and the toilet didn't flush either! In my opinion too overpriced for 140 euros a night! The food didn't taste good either! The only positive thing is the breakfast! !

For a short stay it's fine. Furnishings from the 1970s, but almost everything worked. The heating (which we needed in damp weather and zero degrees at night under the roof) was only lukewarm despite being on the highest setting. This resulted in a damp climate in the room and several silverfish were discovered and disposed of. Rooms should urgently be overhauled and brought up to date, even if it then costs €5 per person. would cost more. Carpeting could be vacuumed regularly. Breakfast had everything you needed and the staff was very friendly!

Yes, it's an old hotel but nothing was missing and the very friendly service actually makes up for it.

Cozy hotel with clean rooms, staff and service very friendly. The food was also very tasty, it was a lot of fun, we ate in a family atmosphere, our stay was at the golden wedding anniversary, and suddenly some of the family came to the party and were also happy, so we can recommend the hotel. The smell in this hotel is unbearable. The bathroom is damp, dirty and full of silverfish. Unfortunately I can't say anything good. I'll give this house a wide berth.

Very run down hotel, actually it doesn't really deserve the name hotel. The room is very simply furnished with a small TV. Also the bed is too small (90 cm wide). Not recommended.

The hotel has its own beautiful charm. It's a bit old, but everything fits together, the place and the hotel are like a journey back in time, everything is a bit older. The room had everything you need. The beds are larger than in chain hotels. Otherwise everything was great. The breakfast offer was ok. Nothing special available, although the place has certain of its own products (salt) that could be offered there. It was still great and rich. The location of the hotel is great and easy to reach. Can recommend the hotel to everyone.

The hotel is pretty run down. My room was very bad. Furnishings broken, carpet on the balcony dirty and torn, shower toilet and sink dirty. I wouldn't recommend the hotel. €80.00 a night is pretty expensive

A hotel whose rooms are a bit old, but clean and that's the most important thing. Good breakfast buffet and the barbecue evening with buffet on Saturdays is definitely worth the money. The location is very good and quiet, you are right on the edge of the town center of Bad Sooden and within walking distance you can reach the bus and train connections in just a few minutes. Shopping opportunities are also available. A very nice place where you can find something for every taste, from hiking, cycling, or a visit to the thermal baths. Localities with outdoor areas, such as cafes, bistros, ice cream parlors, restaurants, etc. Various events, day trips, etc. are offered in town. All in all, it was a very nice stay and I'm looking forward to my next visit, of course also to the Hotel Martina

Very friendly staff. Breakfast OK. Otherwise there is nothing positive: there are containers with dirty laundry and empty water bottle boxes in the hallways. The rooms (with balconies) are small, the bathroom is completely unacceptable in terms of size and condition. An overnight price of 140.00 euros is overpriced.

The hotel was well located for a visit to the open air. The reception and the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was rich and it had everything you need to start the day. The room was a bit old, but at the same time very clean and absolutely fine for one night.

We stayed here for two nights, very nice area, nice hotel for two nights. Rooms are sufficient, bathroom could be renewed and for today's time a computer screen as a television is also a minus point. We were only there for one night, on our bike tour. The young man at reception was very friendly and first gave us the key to the bike shed. Getting the luggage off the bikes was a bit difficult because the area in front of the shed slopes steeply and the bikes couldn't stand on the bike rack. Access to the bike shed is via two very high steps, which makes setting up e-bikes very difficult; two people have to do it here. The room was of normal size, although we had also booked an extra large room. A renovation is essential in the room, especially the bathroom. At first glance the room was clean but walking around the room with socks on showed something different. Even though the room faced the street it was very quiet. In the evening we went to the attached restaurant where we ate quite well. The breakfast buffet was normal, anyone who often stays in a hotel already knows this. Basically it's OK for one night but not for longer.

I didn't feel comfortable in the room. Everything is very old and not a nice atmosphere. Stains on the wall, terrible lighting, TV I would throw away. Carpet. shower curtain. Shower head sprays in all directions. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was very good, scrambled eggs were great. Thank you.

We stayed here to visit a friend in the spa. When traveling on a motorcycle, the demands are not very high. The hotel is a bit old, the room was very small, the bathroom needed renovation, but everything worked. Breakfast ok. So fine.

The hotel is clean and conveniently located at the end of the busy area with restaurants and shops. The friendly and attentive staff at breakfast and cleaning must be highlighted. The breakfast buffet is small but completely sufficient. What I didn't like was my double room (302), which wasn't one. When I think of a double room, I imagine a spacious room where I can go to bed on 3 sides and not just one side. I imagine a desk with a desk chair and a separate table with 2 comfortable armchairs. None of that was available and the bathroom was even narrower. The two uncomfortable armchairs had wheels, so you had to roll around the room when you sat down. Unfortunately, I couldn't award more points for all of these things. Then it would be better to have a nice single room like e.g. B. 103. Room 302 had a large balcony with a wonderful view.

Other reports “Hotel is getting old”: completely irrelevant!! What's important is that the service is reliable, friendly and flexible (we were able to accommodate several guests at fairly short notice. Check-in was easy for everyone). Breakfast absolutely good, extensive and quality!! Location is absolutely good!!! Everything is within walking distance. Therefore also really good for longer stays.

We have relatively Booked at short notice, the single room was ok, the double room was tiny but both were very, very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We didn't expect the breakfast buffet to be so great for 5€pp, we'd love to come back!!

As many have commented before me, this is an aging hotel. However, the rooms are clean and the location of the hotel is very good. The breakfast for €5 was good. There were various rolls and breads to choose from and also a small selection of cereals. There were also scrambled eggs and bacon. The employees were friendly and there was nothing to complain about on our part. We'd love to come back.

We can't understand the positive reviews here at all. The rooms consist of pieces of furniture thrown together. Everything is very old. You don't want to fall on the carpet, let alone walk barefoot The bathroom resembled a broom closet. Far too small, with old tiles and a glass block opening😵‍💫🫣 Elevated mini shower with a wobbly partition is only for slim people. Balcony furniture old and dirty. But the highlight was the 5 euro savings breakfast (name of a waitress who works there) Presented carelessly, you have to beg to get scrambled eggs in the morning. (“I have to ask the boss first”🙄😵‍💫) Canned fruit slapped into a bowl. 0815 Cheese and sausage. No selection of bread rolls available. Crawling creatures (probably mice) in the breakfast room. The hut for parking the e-bikes with an overly high step in front of it that would break your knuckles. My wife couldn't overcome this obstacle on her own by bike. If you return from a tour later than 8 p.m., the reception is no longer staffed and you will no longer be given a key for the bike hut. The overnight stay had to be paid for in advance.🥴 Afterwards we knew why🤢 Once and never again.🤮 There is a great romantic hotel just outside with attractive, modern rooms and a great breakfast. After appropriate criticism and comparison, it was suggested to us that we should go on holiday there next time. We did it and we are thrilled 👍👏👌

Very outdated hotel, but nice reception and the lady at breakfast was also nice. Thanks also to the quick man behind the emergency number. The breakfast was good and completely sufficient. The WiFi was also good. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the parking situation. The hotel only has a few parking spaces and so you have to look for free parking spaces around the hotel (residential area).
