We've been ordering food here weekly for our game night for years. The dishes are really good!

Dont bother. A couple of items on the menu are decent, but the rest is pretty subpar. Service is absolutely the worst. Takes forever for them to serve you. They only accept cash. The lady there also tries to scam you by pretending she has no change. You will also get bad service if you dont order a drink. Found a piece of curly hair that looks suspiciously like genital hair in my food today.

0 stars. You would think that this restaurant doesn't need guests, as disrespectful and rude as it treats its guests. The food is mediocre. Unfortunately, I cannot understand the good reviews regarding the friendliness of the owners in any way. We will definitely never order there again!!!

Eine derartige Respektlosigkeit und Unfreundlichkeit dem Kunden gegenüber habe ich selten erlebt - und das von der Inhaberin persönlich! Macht selber Fehler, weil sie keine Lust hat, dem Gast zuzuhören und will dann in aggressivster Art und Weise den Fehler auf den Gast abwälzen. Mich wundert es wirklich, dass hier noch Leute hingehen. Absolut NICHT empfehlenswert! Das Essen ist mittelmäßig. Service nicht vorhanden. Am liebsten würde ich Minus- Sterne vergeben!

The food was satisfactory, but it took a long time for the order to be ready. The staff was extremely absent, unfriendly and absolutely disrespectful to the customer. Mistakes were made when ordering because people didn't listen and then blamed on the customer.

Our last dinner a week ago was a total disappointment! Some of the food was very disqualifying, the rice was rather lukewarm and old. In addition, a very long waiting time, overwhelmed staff and a super unfriendly landlady.

Firstly, food is ok, also at a reasonable price. However, I have highlight that the owner is rude, when I asked the waiter whether I can drink my own water, the owner nearly shouted in a long distance in a very rude manner, if she can politely told us, that would be nice. We respect the rule. However, the arisen voice totally distorted our mood that morning. Plus we are sitting outside the restaurant in the public area, I am not sure forbidden drinking own water is line with the law or not. Plus, they only take cash, this is a title inconvenient as I rarely bring cash with me.

The ingredients were not fresh, tasted very bad and not authentic at all. All you can say is that it is fake Chinese food prepared for foreigners. Poor service attitude, roll your eyes if you don't order a drink. Rice costs an additional 4 euros and most Chinese restaurants in Munich serve rice for free.

Even though the Chinese cuisine is very good, it's a shame that you can't pay by card. Very disappointing.

As always, the food was delicious! I can only recommend Hong Hong.

Although I often see bad reviews, my own experience of eating at Honghong is quite gemütlich.

The food is tasty but the service very poor. Not a good morning, not a nice day. The lady came and waited immediately for the order, there was no time to think about it. There is the owner's dog in the restaurant, it comes into the kitchen, but the downside is that the dog simply stinks and it is unpleasant to be in the restaurant.

The grilled fish is very authentic, delicious and the ingredients are fresh and abundant! One serving of grilled fish is enough for three people….

Typical local cuisine. Good portions. Very well shortened dishes with fresh herbs. A big recommendation!!

We bought take out here when staying in the hotel across the street. The food was great! The spring rolls were wonderful!

Found this restaurant by accident as we were in Garching. I was glad to know that it was part of the Honghong noodles in Münchner Freiheit and expected the same quality of foods. Even if it was not so bad, it was not the same. As they are Chinese I think they should stick to what they do best and not diverge to other South East Asian cuisine. The Pho Bo has nothing to do with a Pho Bo.. and the soup was way too minty. The mint leaves should have been put on a side. The rice noodles of my Pad Thai was overcooked and were then soggy. The classic Chao Mein was the best .

I am a regular customer here. The products are rich and all taste good. The lady boss will also give me a snack for my birthday. I like it very much. I come here almost every week.

I've been to this restaurant twice and the Chinese food is delicious. This is a rare Chinese restaurant in the suburbs of Garching. But I feel that the older female boss has a bad attitude, while the older male boss has a very good attitude. This evening was a little unpleasant. Before I even finished my food, the young waiter (who didn't speak Chinese) was about to take my plate away. I later emphasized in English that my food was not finished yet, and she left very unhappy without even a basic apology. Although the food tastes good, I won’t come here again…

So the food is ok, but the service and customer friendliness are a big minus. I ordered 5 times to pick up. It always says 30 minutes, you wait at least 50 minutes. The last two times it was even 60 minutes. And today I ordered for 4 people to pick up again. I waited exactly 75 minutes even though it said 30 minutes. The best thing was I wanted to have 4 small hot sauces and she told me ice cold you have to pay extra for the 4 small sauces. I thought I would be hit, I waited twice as long and ordered for €65 then they wanted money from me for 4 mini sauces. A mess at its best and I just say NEVER AGAIN you are just unprofessional at its best.

The taste is stable and wonderfully delicious. Sichuan cuisine in particular uses a lot of chili peppers and is very spicy. Unfortunately, the elderly female owner is very rude and intimidating (especially towards Asians).

A few weeks ago I had to watch the boss verbally attack a customer because he had left the door open for so long when he went in, only this customer was a very old man with a walker who had a hard time getting in. Now she also attacked me because I held the door open for 3 pensioners (one of them with a walker). Her announcement was that you weren't allowed to open the door all the way because it was broken and all in an extremely rude tone. Afterwards I was ignored even though the food I had ordered was already ready. When I was finally "allowed" to pay, I kindly tried to point out to her that perhaps she should put a note on the door, since no one can know that you are not allowed to open the door completely (repairing it would also be an option!). Then she didn't even look at me... even though I'm a regular customer and she definitely knows me, I got no hello, no please, no goodbye, she didn't even tell me the price, she just left the receipt down. I paid and wanted to leave... When I go out, their dog suddenly runs after me and bites my Achilles tendon!! And this is the second time this has happened!! Of course I scolded the dog and told the boss that that was the last time I was a customer there!

I ordered tender beef and asked for not too spicy; the waitress accepted but then started complaining to another waitress about people requesting for less spicy. Finally, as usual, there was no attention to my request and the food was as super spicy as it normally with half of it was oil!

The food was very good. It's been years since I finally had sweet and sour pork in a pastry coating because it's made with potato dough and I can't tolerate gluten. So I was very happy. Very nice service. Happy to come back!

Very pleasant atmosphere and wonderful Jiaozi. Very inexpensive! In summer you can also sit outside. In winter, however, it is rather cool and uncomfortable because of the cold air that the constant collection of food allows to flow into the small room. Authentic inexpensive Chinese food. There were also a lot of Chinese among the guests in the evening. Unfortunately, the many pickups are very annoying. Especially if they just leave the door to the restaurant open. This is very uncomfortable in the cold.

That is our favourite place in Garching. We often eat here and order takeaway. Food is good and tasty. Never felt bad after eating here… Surprised by such low rates.

Echt Klasse Essen, und auch mal andere Speisen wie in anderen Asiatischen Restaurants , kann auch nur gutes über den Service sagen !

Не рекомендую, особенно если хотите быстренько поесть и идти дальше. Обслуживают просто нереально долго, причём даже если в зале всего несколько человек. И ещё приносят не то что заказывали порой Если у вас есть дохера времени то пожалуйста. Респекта особо тут не ждите. Еда просто норм, рис часто переваренный.

Hi all. Here is my pick on the place from December 2023. 1/ The place has clear ownership. Led by a family together with another restaurant in Munich, this place receives personal attention from the owners, who themselves work there. Very hard working people. 2/ The quality of food in the long time was variable, and now, it has an increase again. Mind, of-course, that this restaurant works in a more budget-friendly price segment. Yet, the servings are big, the food is tasty, you get enough fresh vegetables integrated, very very large choice of dishes. I like their peanut sauce curry, fried noodles with shrimp, pumpkin curry. 3/ The atmosphere maybe is not for romantic dates, but it's clean there and spacy enough, again, owners take care of you there. 4/ The waiting times for pick up have drastically decreased lately. It was unreliable before, but now, you order and you get food as agreed. 5/ Some write that the owners are rude or something, this is not true at all. I've been there multiple times, and yes, Chinese speakers are not amazing with their German or English, but they are very friendly and really attentive. I never had any troubles there, always very personal attitude. The owners dog chills in the restaurant often, it's okay for me, kind people have such dogs :) Overall, the very low rating for this restaurant is unfair, it's the best Asian in Garching speaking of food.

During my dining experience at Honghong Restaurant, I unfortunately misplaced my wallet. However, thanks to the owner's dedicated staff and her personal attention to this matter, my wallet was promptly found and securely kept until I could retrieve it. Not only was my wallet found intact, but every item, from cash to identification cards, remained undisturbed. This display of integrity truly reflects the restaurant's outstanding service and the owner's excellent character. The impeccable service, delicious authentic Chinese cuisine, and cozy atmosphere of Honghong Restaurant have left a profound impression on me. Without a doubt, I will wholeheartedly recommend Honghong Restaurant to my friends, family, and colleagues.

Sehr freundliche Restaurantleiterin schmeißt das Restaurant mit Ihrem fröhlichen Mann. Ein bisschen verpeilt und manchmal etwas hilflos, aber mit ihrer sympathischen Art und Freundlichkeit ist das alles kein Problem. Das Essen ist gut, wir waren 7 Personen, keiner hat sich beschwert, sondern das Essen gelobt. Auch die Qualität der Enten war wirklich gut. Man darf nicht zu viel erwarten, dann wird man auch nicht enttäuscht. Zudem ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis eher mit 5 Sternen zu bewerten. Ich komme wieder!

Die Ente mit Erdnuss Soße war sehr lecker! die Suppe war auch sehr lecker, aber der gebratene Reis mit Hühnchen war mit Shrimps was ein absolutes No-Go ist. Der Service sehr sehr unhöflich, am Telefon einfach auflegen 😞. Das Restaurant musste zweimal angefahren werden da die Hälfte gefehlt hat. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Une des meilleures restaurants chinois que je suis allé en Europe! Pas trop épicé et surtout les plats avec le canard et le porc étaient excellents! Ravi de l'avoir fait découverte grâce aux nos amis de locaux☺️

Haben in Regensburg von diesem Geheimtipp in Garching gehört und waren über Weihnachten in München, d.h. mussten wir uns selbst davon mal überzeugen. Der erste Eindruck war äußerst positiv, da das Restaurant überaus gut besucht war, das Innendekor wurde in meiner Sicht zu schlicht gehalten, aber letztendlich zählt ja der Geschmack. Der Service konnte durchaus mit ihrer Freundlichkeit punkten und die Vorspeisen für uns waren zeitig am Tisch. Das Hauptgericht (Fleischstreifen mit Yuxian-Geschmack) war geschmacklich eine freudige Überraschung. Fazit: Ein Geheimtipp bei dem wir gerne wiederkommen.

Absolut unverschämtes Personal! Haben Essen zur Abholung bestellt und ausdrücklich Rebowl-Schüsseln bestellt, weil das schon mehrfach ignoriert wurde. Vor Ort dann alles in Einwegplastik verpackt. Dann wurde ich angepampt, dass man hier nicht mit Karte zahlen könne. Ich solle zur Bank gehen und Geld holen. Ist sowas zu fassen?! In der Vergangenheit haben wir durchaus mit Karte gezahlt und ich kenne auch kein Restaurant wo das nicht geht. Außerdem läuft im Gästebereich sowie in der Küche ein langhaariger ungepflegter Hund herum. Absolut unter aller Sau!

Für mich verträgliche, geschmacklich gute Gerichte. Ob und wieviel Glutamat genutzt wird kann ich nicht beurteilen - jedenfalls keine "Probleme" nach den Besuchen. Die " Schärfeempfehlung" mit nur 2 Schoten ist schon wunderbar scharf, an 3 traue ich mich nicht 😊 Guten Appetit.

Die Miarbeiter waren immer freundlich. Die Qualität der Gerichte ist stabil und der Geschmack ist gut.

Selbst in Garching findet man ein wirklich gutes chinesisches Restaurant! Hier stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Es ist zwar nicht jedes Gericht perfekt und authentisch, aber der Großteil der Speisen ist es. Es war bisher auch immer sehr gut besucht. Parallel habe es viele Abholer, wodurch die Wartezeiten teilweise etwas länger waren. Trotzdem eine Empfehlung! Update: KaoYu war gigantisch auch wenn wir ewig (fast eine gute Stunde) darauf gewartet haben. Wer hungrig ist oder grundsätzlich keine Geduld hat sollte besser woanders hin. Hier braucht man Zeit. Vor allem wenn der Laden voller ist. Aus meiner Sicht lohnt sich aber das warten!

Wir waren Gäste in der Stadt Garching und haben Hunger gehabt auf Chinesisch, leider wurden wir enttäuscht was man so aus einem Restaurant wo anders nicht kennt. Ambiente war wie eine Bahnhofshalle nicht einmal gemütliches Flair, Ente war sehr trocken und der Mann mit der Brille sehr unfreundlich.

I ate in Honghong for around 10 times last year. Those are their best foods, however they don’t have a consistency, meaning this is basically the peak, and all other times when I was there the food is just worse. They have average chinese food . However the owner(the lady server) extremely unfriendly and rude, and it is possible for you to wait for a long time for your food. So food 3 stars Service no star (Edit: those picture are taken a year ago, now their food is also worse, I would not recommend the place)

Essen ist wirklich top auch für Vegetarier und Veganer. Vor Ort etwas ungemütlich deshalb holen wir fast immer ab...

Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend und preiswert. Allerdings muss man sich beim Bestellen und Warten in Geduld üben. Organisation ist nicht so die Stärke.

老板娘对我们几个中国人态度非常差，对我们大喊大叫，言语里都是讽刺，对其他德国客人却细声细语很客气！ 食物也非常难吃，蔬菜和鱼很不新鲜，都是大油大盐炒出来的，和沙县小吃一样，却卖得很贵。结账的时候也冷嘲热讽的，我们说能不能几个人分开付钱，老板娘直接翻脸说 ：你们当然要付钱，难道要吃霸王餐吗？ 中国人在异国这样欺负中国人，我是第一次碰到，同学们都小心点！

以前の体験ですが・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ドイツで肉の塊に攻撃されていた日々に現れた中華です。場所の割には本格的な中華で、一皿の分量も多すぎず、数人のグループでシェアすればかなりいろいろな種類の料理が楽しめます。値段も手ごろです。

The hostess definitely need some hospitality lessons, her rudeness is something I never saw in any restaurant. Despite a good food, I'll definitely never come back.
