Hohkeppeler Hof in Lindlar

Yesterday, we ate potato pancakes at the Hohkeppeler Hof. A disaster! The potato pancakes were too thick and resembled hash browns. Furthermore, they were cold when served. From ordering to serving, we had to wait more than 40 minutes. That was the last time we ate potato pancakes at the Hohkeppeler Hof. 😫

We visited the Hohkeppeler Hof on June 15th after a hike. The staff and owners were very friendly and attentive. The menu (German/Mediterranean) is straightforward and seems to change regularly. Both starters and main courses were delicious. The value for money was perfectly acceptable. We would be happy to return.

The new tenants and the owner are very nice, friendly, and accommodating. The service is exemplary, and the ambiance is pleasant. The menu is clearly laid out. German and Italian specialties are offered. The dishes are of impressively high quality. The food tastes very good. The drinks selection is also diverse. Consistently excellent and highly recommended.

We had reserved a table for dinner. Everything went well until after the starter (starter was super tasty and well prepared). But with the schnitzel there were half-cooked fries, which were soggy and greasy. The service reluctantly brought new ones. The waitress couldn't accept any criticism. On the contrary: our guests love our fries. Then came the demolition: no more service and no drinks, we were avoided. Apparently a telephone conversation in the kitchen was more important than the guests. When paying, they said: it was a wedding party that was to be served. There was no one left in the inn apart from four other guests. There was no more service. Our waiter didn't show up again.

We had dinner in the beer garden on Sunday lunchtime. The food and service were impeccable. The three-course meal was a complete pleasure and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The selection of dishes on the menu is limited, but I prefer that if they are cooked fresh and with first-class ingredients. Conclusion: keep it up. It's definitely not the last time we've eaten here.

Went there for brunch on Easter Sunday. Very customer oriented service. Very tasty food. We wish the new operators much success.

Beautiful village restaurant in Hohkeppel! Local since 1928! Now new operator with Italian cuisine. Nice ambience. Recommended for a trip to Bergisch.

We are happy about the new operators and wish you much success. The food was delicious, but unfortunately mine wasn't hot enough (I'm very sensitive to that). But I didn't say anything because I didn't want to disturb our group. The menus should be updated on the website. Food from Mediterranean to good home cooking; a good selection. The lack of drink menus is a long-running issue at HH. This should be improved. As usual, the espresso was very tasty. Of course we'll be back 👍🏼 and are looking forward to the beer garden.

New owners since March 1, 2025. Very friendly, and the food is delicious. The menu is small, but the quality is top-notch. Highly recommended.

Came by by chance as part of a motorcycle tour during the reopening. Super nice owners and wonderfully located. Beer garden expected to open from April. Will definitely check it out again at the start of the season!

I stayed overnight and also had dinner here. The inn is nicely decorated, the staff friendly. The food was good. The waiter was attentive, but semi-professional. Pulling beer isn't one of his strengths. His communication seemed rehearsed. The room was okay and worth the price. Only the nighttime lowering of the heating is a bit drastic. The small bathroom is unheated and therefore freezing cold. Card payments aren't accepted.

Richtig gutes und gemütliches Restaurant, wo man hervorragend Essen kann. Besonders empfehlenswert zur Weihnachtszeit: Gänsebrust und Gänsekeule. Hervorragend zubereitet und sehr große Portionen. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierhin. Auch wenn man wie wir (wir wohnen in Köln) nicht im Bergischen Land wohnt, ist der Hohkeppeler Hof eine Reise wert.

We didn't have a room here, but we were guests at a wedding that was celebrated in the hall. The food was simply great, and the staff was also super friendly and nice. The owner personally cares about the well-being of the guests. We all felt very comfortable.

We were greeted warmly, but that was it. The website promised an extensive selection of dishes, but instead there was a wooden board with offers from starters to dessert on two sides, some corrected by hand. Food was very salty (schnitzel, various sauces), dessert was almost inedible, plums in red wine/cinnamon/walnut ice cream (you couldn't taste the red wine, but cinnamon in large quantities) was too expensive for the price. Service was attentive.

The shop is unprofessional, sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's bad. Yes, nothing where I want to meet someone nice and hope for delicious food. The smell in the store is very unpleasant.

Wir waren gestern mit 5 Personen zum Abendessen hier. Die Auswahl auf der Speisekarte war mehr als dürftig. Und da der leckerste Fisch, der Schnitzel ist, mussten wir uns wohl oder übel dafür entscheiden. Die Schnitzel mit verschieden Saucen waren schmackhafter und schön zubereitet. Getränkebestellung allerdings ein Problem, weil weder Wirt, noch Bedienung dafür blind waren und mit Scheuklappen durch die Gegend liefen. Obwohl wir direkt vor der Theke saßen. Bei einem Essen mit 12 Personen, wären glatt die Hälfte Verdurstet. So mussten wir uns für die anstehende Geburtstagsfeier meines Engels, ein anderes Lokal suchen. Bezahlt haben wir 115 € das ging leider nur in bar, da angeblich das EC Gerät klemmte

Die Suppe war sehr salzig, die Pommes hart und das Fleisch (Hühnerbrust mt Pamesanpande) schien fertige TK Kost gewesen zu sein. Das Schweineschnitzel Wiener Art war mittelmäßig, die Bratkartoffeln gut. Bei einem Besuch im letzten Jahr war die Essensqualität deutlich besser. Da hatte unserer Erinnerung nach der Pächter/Eigentümer selber gekocht.

An emphatically friendly reception is an impressive business card. Overall, the food was tasty and served to guests in a friendly and humorous manner. There was also some nice information about the beer and its contents. The Hohkeppler Hof is an address to come back to.

Good food, nice location, super nice owner. We have been here several times and will definitely come here again in the future - always happy, especially the game dishes!

We went to the restaurant for family dinner at Christmas. Unfortunately the menu was quite limited, mainly meat dishes. The selection of vegetarian dishes was also limited to two dishes and a salad plate. One dish was even sold out at 1 p.m. The quality of the food was then very different. The goose was very good, the pork medallions were a bit dry and poorly prepared. The tagliatelle with truffle was okay. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, the price-performance ratio did not seem appropriate to us. We would still give the restaurant another chance and come back another time.

We were there on 12/26/23, the food was a disaster. The daily map and the actual map were miles apart. It was our first and last visit.

Nice rustic/modern atmosphere and very tasty food

Bereits die telefonische Tischreservierung war so freundlich, dass die Vorfreude auf den Abend im Hohkeppeler Hof wuchs. Es folgte umgehend eine Reservierungsbestätigung per Mail. Entsprechend freundlich wurden wir begrüßt und in das geschmackvoll eingerichtete Restaurant an unseren mit Stoffservierten eingedeckten Tisch begleitet. Mit aufmerksamen Service, locker fröhlich und keineswegs aufdringlich konnten wir unser köstliches, saisonales Gericht genießen. Die Gänsebrust war zart, die Haut knusprig ohne einen Fettrand, die Soße excellent gewürzt. Sie ist uns bestens bekommen. Wir waren nicht zum ersten Mal im Hohkeppeler Hof und sicherlich auch nicht das letzte Mal.

The Hohkeppler Hof is an institution between Lindlar and Overath. The food is prepared and served with great attention to detail. While bikers, cyclists and walkers relax here during the day on the weekends, residents and travelers come to feast and socialize in the evenings. It is advisable to reserve a table. We feel comfortable here and say THANK YOU

Hier machen wir immer wieder gern eine Pause 🍀 netter Chef und liebes Team - und leckeres Essen. Die Crème brûlée ist der Hammer 🫶🏻 klare Empfehlung!

Ich habe am Sonntag meine Familie auf Grund meines Geburtstages zum Essen eingeladen. Die Tische waren mit Stoffservietten im achtziger Jahresstil alle sehr nett eingedeckt. Wir haben mit 5 Erwachsenen und einem Kind a la carte bestellt. Die Gerichte kamen alle zeitgleich, heiß, reichhaltig und sehr lecker. Neben der traditionellen Karte gab es eine reichhaltige Auswahl auf der Tageskarte. Ein Bestellfehler meinerseits wurde ohne ihn in Rechnung gestellt zu werden und ohne Probleme sehr schnell korrigiert. Der Service war sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Wer in netter Athmosphäre gut bürgerlich, zu einem fairen Preis essen möchte ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Wir kommen wieder. M. Bassier

Vom Moment des Betretens bis zum Verlassen fühlten wir uns herzlich willkommen und gut umsorgt. Die freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung gewährleistete eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Die Speisekarte bietet eine Vielzahl von leckeren Gerichten und mit der Auswahl der Tagesgerichte von der großen Schiefertafel hat man die Qual der Wahl. Wir haben unsere Wahl „Kalbsroulade“ und „Wiener Schnitzel“ nicht bereut. Das Ambiente vermittelt ein Gefühl von Tradition und Geschichte. Es ist der ideale Ort, um dem hektischen Alltag zu entfliehen und sich in entspannter Atmosphäre verwöhnen zu lassen.

Wir waren hier nur zum Essen. Die Preise sind super. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Die Portionen sind reichlich und super lecker. Die Kroketten z.B. waren selbstgemacht. Mit der Parkplatzsuche hatten wir etwas Probleme. Aber das leckere Essen macht es wieder wett.

Ich war nur dort essen. Trotzvollem Haus (Muttertag) wurde noch Platz für 2 gefunden. Essen hervorragend. Immer gerne wieder.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen an einem Sonntag dort. Das Essen war in Ordnung, der Service war mit der großen Aussenterrasse überfordert. Die vielen vorbeifahrenden Motorräder und Autos waren etwas störend.

Waren nach langer Zeit wieder mal dort, essen war sehr lecker, aber für mich etwas lauwarm. Hätte ich vielleicht sagen sollen. Bedienung prompt und sehr freundlich. Empfehlenswert auch für Vegetarier habe mehrere Sachen im Angebot.

Wir haben sehr lecker 😋 gegessen. Es war alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Und wir werden gerne wiederkommen .

Wir hatten ein tolles Mittagessen mit perfekt zubereiteten Speisen. Das Servicepersonal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir wurden mit 11 Personen zügig bedient und das obwohl andere Gäste im Restaurant waren und im Saal zwei Feiern abgehalten wurden. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Zimmer haben eine Renovierung nötig
