I really enjoyed the buffet you set up especially for us. It was plentiful and there was something for every taste. You could also ask for seconds at any time. Your service was very friendly. I thought it was great that you provided extra containers so we could take food home with us. Even though I don't live far away, I hadn't heard of your place before. What a shame. I'll definitely be back, this time with my wife and dogs.

The pre-ordered buffet was terrible and poorly prepared. The run-of-the-mill food would have been good, but it wasn't value for money. The Black Forest cake was good, but it didn't make up for the food. Definitely not recommended! For events. If your guests are important to you, you don't serve them industrial food, but cook it yourself. Replacing an entire buffet for 10+ guests "immediately" is probably utopian.

In summer, it's an absolute dream to sit in the beer garden or on the lawn under shady trees and let the day come to a close. The service is very friendly. The beer garden is self-service. The restaurant is closed in summer when the weather is nice. This place is unique in our area 😊 I'll be back up there tomorrow!!

After a long hike, it's always nice to stop here. Even in the morning, it's a wonderful place to linger with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake before heading back down. A cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and a perfect place for a short break.

I've known this restaurant for many decades. My wife and I even celebrated our wedding not quite 25 years ago. Since we no longer live nearby, we only come by occasionally when visiting relatives. Today, it was warm outside, and only the beer garden was open. Okay, we found a seat; I had called ahead because I have food intolerances. Now, all of a sudden, it's all self-service, but at a price that's downright outrageous. Okay, they have no competition up there. If everything had been good, I wouldn't have anything to complain about. Chicken schnitzel with fries and salad for €20. The schnitzel was okay, the fries were OK. For the salad, there was a salad bar with a very limited selection and only one sauce or oil and vinegar. One of the salads, probably the carrot salad, was sour; not sure if it was spoiled sour or there was way too much vinegar. I had to send both salads back and said so. This was approved, but nothing was done about it. One person had ordered a Swiss sausage salad with fries, which was unbearably sour. Even with the fries, it was impossible to finish. I pressed it into the manager's hand and explained it to her. She then came to the table and said she was sorry, but they were known for their strongly spicy and sour sausage salad; she had tried it herself, and it was always like that and fine. She didn't mention the salads from the salad bar. No offer of compensation or an alternative meal, not even a real apology - on the contrary, the whole thing was passed on to us by saying "it's always been like that," along the lines of "If it's too strong, you're too weak." I remember, though, that we had already had the sausage salad a few years ago, and it was good back then, with waitress service. That's a good way to put off guests. As sorry as I am about this otherwise great restaurant, we definitely won't be coming back.

As always, excellent food, generous portions, great prices, and top quality. Unfortunately, when the weather's good, only the beer garden is open, with self-service and a salad bar, so it's not quite the relaxed atmosphere we were hoping for on the terrace this time. However, you're rewarded with a very pleasant feeling of being surrounded by nature. A very popular destination for many hikers and cyclists. Reservations are a good idea. There's also a fairly large playground. Absolutely child- and dog-friendly. We'll definitely be back, as we have so often before.

An absolute insider tip! The location deserves 5 stars, but it should really be 10. Deep in the forest, an absolutely idyllic spot. In the beer garden, you can either sit on the sturdy benches or "at the back" in a beautiful garden with a pond. It's truly magical. The staff is super friendly and very humorous! The food: Very fair prices, simple hiking cuisine. So you can't compare apples with oranges. However, the venison bratwurst is particularly noteworthy, as is the homemade cake. It's difficult to compare this inn with a restaurant. The comparison wouldn't be appropriate. It's a day-trip restaurant, after all. But as such, it's really very good and affordable. We'll definitely be back and felt very comfortable here yesterday.

We wanted to hike from Wilhelmsfeld to the Weißer Stein. Unfortunately, the path was closed. The forest was being limed by helicopter to counteract acidic soil. We'll try again soon.

Beautiful beer garden, great and delicious food. Prices are a bit high, but of course that's due to the region and the incredibly beautiful location. Very friendly staff, we'd be happy to come back.

The service was warm, attentive, and yet pleasantly relaxed. We particularly loved the atmosphere: The beer garden is tucked away on top of a mountain and feels like a little getaway – far away from the hustle and bustle, with beautiful views and plenty of peace and quiet. A lovely place for a day trip. Unfortunately, there are few such locations in the Odenwald.

They charged me €5.10 for a 0.33 liter non-alcoholic pilsner. Isn't that a bit too much? Best regards Addendum: Mistakes happen, I can live with them. I was actually a bit stunned and therefore a bit speechless 😀😀I'm often up there on my bike, so I'll come to them if I run out of water on the way to you. All good from my side, and thank you for the quick response.

We were there spontaneously today and got a nice table by the window. A good selection of dishes, and after ordering, the food arrived promptly. You could put together your own side salad from the salad buffet.

A definite excursion tip. A narrow, winding road climbs for about 10 kilometers to over 500 meters above sea level. It's beautifully situated in a fantastic area. Extensive menu. Food at fair prices. The old TV tower is a real eye-catcher.

Great place, there's a meadow to lie down on and a forest next to it which is great for walks. We had fries for dinner so I can't say much about the food.

Yesterday we hiked to the White Stone with a large group of children (we had reserved in advance) and felt welcome straight away. Order reception was routine and warm, everything came without a long wait. The venison bratwurst with fries is definitely recommended! And the Kaiserschmarrn. A big thank you to the whole team for their contribution to a wonderful day of hiking.

My rump steak cost €28.90. I ordered this medium. It took a maximum of 7 minutes until I got my rum steak, it was medium and it was lukewarm, I let it go back then I ordered a new rum steak and that took 2 minutes. I had the next rum steak that was done and I closed it Let's go back for a while. The waiter asked me if I wanted to eat something else, so I ordered the pollack fillet. Pollock fillet was good. Potato salad was from the bucket and probably bought at the C & C wholesale market in DOSSENHEIM. Can't even make their own potato salad👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Mein Rumpsteak für 28,90.- € habe ich Medium rare bestellt, und das Essen war lauwarm also habe ich es zurückgehen lassen, dann ist noch ein Rumsteak gekommen. Das hat nicht einmal 2 Minuten gedauert das war das Motto das Rumsteak war durch dann hat mich die Bedienung gefragt, ob ich nich etwas anderes essen möchte. Dann bringen Sie mir Bitte ein Seelachfilet Filet war gut aber der Kartoffelsalat war nicht selbst gemacht der war vom Eimer bestimmt gekauft bei C und C Grosmart im Dossenheim.!.!.!.!!!!!!!!!👎👎👎👎👎👎 nie wieder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautifully located excursion restaurant and a beautifully landscaped beer garden in operation in summer. When we were there to eat in a larger group, we were served quickly and attentively despite the place being full. The quick delivery of the plated meals was the first indication that not everything can be prepared fresh here. And the big “unfortunately” didn’t take long to arrive. The quality of the food was not appropriate for the prices and therefore too expensive. The portions are huge to the point of excessive, but that doesn't make up for it. But the plus point: all dishes on the main menu can also be ordered in smaller portions and are then cheaper. The sauerbraten for over 25 euros a portion didn't taste good at all, the meat was of poor quality, the sauce had a strange off-flavor...what I saw on the other plates and tasted in some cases also indicated more of quick-fed convenience than quality German cuisine. The cake was okay, but not outstanding either. It's a shame, but given the number of guests that are being transported through (feeding?), I guess it's hardly possible to do anything else.

I would like to say something critically, but I can't think of anything. We stopped in on a Sunday, it was really busy but we were served so quickly. The meals were sumptuous and very, very tasty. If you like cozy and/or rustic, you have to go there!!! We'll be back.

I don't like giving bad reviews because we like to support local businesses. Nevertheless, today (Saturday, 4 p.m.) the time has come. We just wanted a cake and tea, so we sat down. The occupancy of the tables outside was around 50% because many had already left. Many tables were cleaned very slowly, so we first sat at one with the dirty dishes from previous guests. When, after 15 minutes of waiting, no one came to take the order or clear the table, even though the other tables around it were being served/collected, we switched to another table closer to the restaurant. There were also dirty dishes there. Another 15 minutes of waiting and a show of hands didn't help. We then decided to leave. If our money isn't wanted here, no problem, we'll spend it somewhere else. Also, we won't be visiting this place again because it was the second time that you have to wait forever for service.

An oasis in the middle of the Odenwald. Reachable on foot in several ways. Also popular with countless cyclists who work their way up steep streets to the restaurant with a viewing tower. You can then race down a blue or red trail on mountain bikes. Only accessible for cars from Dossenheim, access via Ziegehausen and Peterstal, as suggested by Google Maps, turned out to be a flop. The restaurant itself is well-kept, rustic and cozy; many families and small groups come here. The food was super tasty and not overpriced despite the remote location. The staff very friendly and approachable. Overall, a very good ass us destination to come back to.

Very nice hiking inn. Rustic decor, nice service, fat Schwaddemage (rind stomach). The Hugos could be a bit better. Right next to it there are parking spaces, bike areas, observation towers and KiSpi area. Overall, the White Stone is a worthwhile destination. Nope, the word "worthwhile" doesn't exist and it doesn't make any sense. And in summer it is cooler there than anywhere else. As the saying goes: In the Odenwald, in the Odenwald, you will...

Soup great restaurant with an excellent kitchen, it's just a shame that they will probably close soon if they don't get any staff. And summer will soon be online again and the outdoor catering is no longer suitable for business. It's a shame, it's a shame, but I would still recommend everyone to go there

The food today was gigantic!! The homemade bratwursts are particularly noteworthy. In addition, the atmosphere was rustic and very cozy. The staff was friendly and attentive, the manager at the counter was always friendly and joking. The mountain restaurant can be reached quickly and easily by car or bicycle. It seems to be a well-known and popular destination for young and old.

I can only agree with Frank's review. Stuff probably comes straight from the subway. There was no service, only the beer garden was open. Of course at restaurant prices. Apparently because they don't have any staff. If you then experience the owner, you will understand why. The food would have been ok in a canteen, but not sufficient for a restaurant.

A Wednesday, Google maps says open from 10 AM til late evening. Cool. Driving more than an hour, crawling through construction sites, circuitous detours... Finally arriving at around 1.30 only to find the place is closed. Your own sign confirmed the opening times mentioned on Google. Seriously? I'm very curious if there's going to be any feedback.

We had another very nice day on the White Stone today. The team is very attentive and the food is really great. A home-style, owner-managed restaurant in the middle of the Dossenheim Forest. We really enjoy going there and also enjoy maintaining good contact with the owners. Recommended for any celebrations and also recommended if you are on a hiking or cycling tour.

Top Kurpfalz gastronomy with its own sausage shop. I've been there regularly since 1995. Quality and service remain at a high level. There's nothing wrong with Mecca.

It's now been 8 years since I've been on the white stone with my family and we were all very disappointed at how the quality we remembered had now been lost. In any case, given the current price-performance ratio, we will refrain from visiting any time soon except for something to drink. It's a real shame, it used to be really tasty and mostly freshly cooked, but today you have the feeling that the stuff comes straight from Metro!

The service is top notch, even when it's zero degrees outside.

Nicely located in the woods. Old school vibe with down to earth staff. The game goulash is a must-eat (still dreaming of it sometimes). Schnitzel is also a great option. Can be crowded if the weather is nice.

Here we enjoyed the first rays of sunshine of the year with a delicious goulash soup and non-alcoholic wheat. It's always a destination to go on a hike. We'd love to come back.

It's a nice place to take a break from your hiking trip and recuperate during lunch. I strongly recommend choosing dishes with salad because firstly, it is very tasty, and secondly, you collect it yourself in the buffet and are free to control the portion size and ingredients too.

Good food, friendly service and fair prices. Large dining room, cozy terrace, plenty of parking, playground for the little ones. We would be happy to come back.

We wanted to order mulled wine twice and a hot chocolate to drink outside. In front of me the bartender served a man who took the same thing. The bartender saw me, didn't say anything, only when it was my turn announced that he wasn't serving anyone anymore because he couldn't make it. He could say it sooner and not keep me waiting. He said, take the seat outside, maybe you can do it. It's a shame that you can't rate the service for 0.

Schönes Ausflugsziel für die ganze Familie. Egal ob zu Fuß, mit Rad oder Auto. Der gemütliche Biergarten lädt zum Verweilen ein. Leider nur Selbstbedienung. Das Essen, in meinem Fall ein Brötchen mit Wild-Fleischkäse, wurde frisch zubereitet und war lecker. Bikes können im Sichtbereich des Biergartens geparkt werden. Auf jeden Fall eine Herausforderung wenn man mit dem Rad dort hin möchte. Ein Spielplatz ist auch vorhanden so dass sich die Kinder ein wenig ausgepowern können...

Wir waren nur im Biergarten und haben lediglich etwas getrunken und ein Paar selbstgemachte Wildschwein Würstchen gegessen. Hier treffen sich Wanderer und Biker zu einer kleinen Verschnaufpause. Es gibt im Biergarten ein kleines Speise Angebot und die gängigen Getränke. Beim googlen unbedingt nach " Höhengaststätte" Zum Weißen Stein suchen. Sonst landet man beim anderen Weissen Stein.

Was soll man sagen - wir kommen schon jahrelang zum Schlachtfestbuffet es war immer sehr gut - insbesondere die " Wortschtsupp" Die Qualität hat merklich nachgelassen ( die Preise sind dafür gestiegen - wenn Preis Leistung stimmt zahlt man gerne mehr aber so !!! ) Suppe war so mit Wasser gestreckt , dass kein Geschmack mehr vorhanden war . Die Bedienung konnte sich das nicht erklären . Nunja . Die Blutwurst ist ausgelaufen , Fleisch war von keiner guten Qualität . Das war mal anders . Ich finde einfach auch wenn ein Ambiente in die Jahre gekommen ist, sieht man dennoch ob Dreck weggekehrt ist oder ein Tor gestrichen ist - ob die Blumen am Eingang etc gepflegt sind . Es ist schade , wenn man kein Wert mehr auf Qualität und ansprechendes Äußeres legt auch wenn es mitten im Wald ist - das Ausflugsziel dort oben ist nämlich sehr schön !

Kurz und Bündig: lecker und Preis ist Fair. Auch schöne Gegend zum spazieren gehen.

Ich war nicht Essen und kann deshalb keine Bewertung abgeben. Mit dem Rennrad von Dossenheim zum Weißen Stein ist eine Herausforderung aber schön im Schatten hochzufahren.

Als Ausflugsziel super. Leider ist die Lokalität nicht sehr gepflegt. Das Essen ist eher mittelmäßig. Bedienung war aber sehr nett. Bevor man das Essen bestellt, sollte man vielleicht erst mal die Toiletten aufsuchen.

Eine wunderschöne Wander-Gaststätte mit freundlichem und sehr aufmerksamen Servicepersonal. Faire Preise + gute Qualität der Speisen und Getränke lassen nur 5 Sterne und eine ganz klare Empfehlung zu. Auf jeden Fall ist der Weiße Stein einen Besuch wert. Wir kommen wieder!

Schweinebraten mit Spätzle und Salat.Der Braten war zart und schmackhaft,die Sosse sehr gut Spätzle leider nicht selbst gemacht,aber von guter Qualität und der Salat war lecker.Der Preis des Gerichts völlig normal.Alles in Allem ein schöner Abschluß zu meiner Wanderung zum Teltschikturm.Ich komme wieder. 24.08.2023.

Eigentlich gehen wir immer mal wieder dort zum Essen und wir waren immer zufrieden. Allerdings wurde ich dieses Mal sehr enttäuscht. Ich entschied mich für Kartoffelsalat mit paniertem Seelachsfilet. Leider war der Kartoffelsalat nicht genießbar. Die Kartoffeln waren sehr hart und schmeckten nach nichts. Dies erwähnte ich auch zwei mal, aber man reagierte darauf nicht wirklich. Man sagte mir lediglich beim zweiten Mal , dass sie es weiter geben wird. Schade, eigentlich möchte ich keine schlechten Rezensionen schreiben.

Schöner Ort zum einkehren um die den Hunger und Durst zu löschen, nach einer wander oder Radtour.

Sehr schön gelegene Gaststätte. Mitten im Wald oberhalb von Dossenheim. Für sportliche mit dem Fahrrad oder zu Fuß erreichbar. Man kann aber auch bis oben hin fahren und dort wandern gehen. In der Gaststätte bekommt man dann ordentlich gute Portionen die jeden ausgehungerten wieder aufrichten. Sehr lecker. Wer nur Kaffee und Kuchen möchte ist hier auch gut aufgehoben. Bei nicht zu großem Appetit bietet die Karte auch kleinere Portionen an. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Immer wieder gerne.

Nette Ausflugsgaststätte mit Aussichtsturm. Es gibt hier viele Parkplätze und es ist der Beginn für mehrere Wanderrouten. Die Gaststätte hat eine große Terrasse und zusätzlich einen großen Biergarten. Es gibt zudem einen Kinderspielplatz. Essen ist okay, allerdings auch nicht überragend, dafür aber auch nicht günstig

Waren mit einer Wandergruppe hier,essen sehr schmackhaft und mit viel Hingabe gekocht.Bedienung schnell und freundlich. Kann man empfehlen.

Die Gaststätte auf dem Weißen Stein ist zu jeder Jahreszeit ein lohnendes Ausflugsziel. Der Biergarten und der Kinderspielplatz sind bei gutem Wetter besonders beliebt. Die Speisekarte bietet der Saison angepasste Schmankerl. Die Portionen sind in der Regel reichlich und die Preise sind ordentlich aber nicht ganz so hoch, wie man bei einer Höhengaststätte befürchten könnte.

Weissenstein is a sacred spot for anyone who is up for a day of hiking or biking. You arrive to an extremely friendly environment and a restaurant with a local touch, owned by Sabine & Carmelo, cooking and serving you with true spirit and passion together with their wonderful crew. On Sundays the Biergarten is open and a highlight for us is to enjoy an icecold beer barefoot on the grass. Try - you’ll love it! ❤️
