The food was delicious. The lunch specials for €10-15 were very good. Unfortunately, there were only three vegetarian or vegan options on the menu, especially for those over 50 who wanted meat or fish. You'd expect more variety at a Vietnamese restaurant.

Mai Thai stands out from many other Chinese and Asian restaurants in the area because it feels a bit more authentic. The food was decent – ​​solid quality, nothing extraordinary, but definitely edible. The value for money was also okay; not too expensive, but not a standout either. What was particularly impressive was the very friendly and attentive service. The staff were helpful, quick, and efficient, which made the visit a pleasant one. Overall, a good restaurant for anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine and appreciates friendly service.

The service was really good; all the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I (of course) spilled something, and before the main course arrived, the table was wiped down again—very thoughtful. The menu offers a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes, so there's truly something for everyone. The portions are a good size—not excessively large, but you'll definitely leave satisfied. The atmosphere is quiet and inviting, and everything was spotlessly clean. I would happily come back here with friends for a meal.

We come here often, and I've honestly never been disappointed! Best Vietnamese restaurant in town.

We eat here regularly and highly recommend it. There's an extensive drinks menu with homemade iced teas and lemonades, as well as cocktails, all of which are beautifully presented. All the dishes we tried were very good. The prices are also perfectly reasonable for the quality. In fact, the restaurant has been repeatedly listed in the Falstaff Guide as one of the best Asian restaurants in Munich. On some days, like Valentine's Day, there were even small gifts for the ladies.

I ordered duck at this Asian restaurant and was unfortunately very disappointed. There was no tender duck breast to speak of—it seemed more like inferior meat was being sold as duck breast. The taste was completely unconvincing, and the value for money was completely out of my league. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

I ate here on a Sunday, all I can say is that I eat Asian food quite often and I pretty much always order the same thing: peanut sauce with baked duck and rice. This restaurant is very good, it tastes really excellent, I didn't have to wait long and even my extra sauce was brought to me quickly, highly recommended.

This was our first time at Ho Tay in Oberföhring and we had outdoor seating. Although the restaurant was quite quiet at the time, we felt very comfortable. We were very impressed with the food from the evening menu: For starters, we had the LOAI CHA GIO, a variation of three different spring rolls with two homemade dips. What stood out here, for example, was the not-so-simple presentation of an artfully arranged kohlrabi blossom. For main courses, we had GA XAO HAT DIEU (chicken breast fillet with vegetables in a slightly spicy sauce and cashew nuts) and a large rice noodle bowl with crispy duck, vegetables, peanuts, and nuoc mam sauce – both perfectly balanced in flavor and expertly prepared. Our meal was rounded off with a delicious dessert: coconut mochi ice cream with fresh fruit. All the ingredients seemed fresh, and each dish was flavorful and well presented. Our main courses were priced just under €20, starters and desserts under €10, and a mixed drink around €5, which represents good value for money, especially for Munich. The service was friendly and attentive, although with so few guests, it's difficult to judge how the service would be with a full house. The outdoor ambiance was simple—simple wooden tables with tablecloths and some decorations, and comfortable cushions on the chairs. The covered area is located in the Pharaoh House along a footpath, which isn't at all like a classic beer garden, but rather reminiscent of authentic Vietnamese street food. Overall, the food exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely return to try more dishes from the menu. Highly recommended!

Poor value for money. The food tastes more like it came from an Asian snack bar, and it's simply too expensive for that! For the same price, or even less, you can get much better and more authentic Vietnamese food in the city. The portions are too small. After spending over 50 euros for two, you shouldn't have to go home hungry.

I was looking forward to authentic Vietnamese food, but the dish lacked flavor and soul—more like something cooked by a British grandmother who once heard about Vietnam. Fresh herbs? None. Instead, there were bland, insipid flavors and a presentation lacking attention to detail. For a restaurant that calls itself "Vietnamese," this is sadly completely out of line.

There are tables inside and outside; the only drawback is the proximity to the road, but there are partitions everywhere. The decor is dominated by long bamboo poles that give you a rural feel. Ho Tay means "Lake in the West," so pretty!

The service was impeccable, and the quality of the food made it well worth the price. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a delightful spot for a family meal. I've eaten here several times. The food is nothing special, but the service is exceptionally poor. You'll practically be thrown out if the boss(?) gets the impression that you're no longer generating revenue. I'll never go here again. There are countless Vietnamese restaurants, so you don't have to put yourself through this here.

Shrinkflation hit hard and what were very decently sized portions just a year ago, are now definitely not enough for a proper launch, especially for the price. The food is tasty. Service gave us mixed feelings, our order was mixed up and 3 out of 9 meals were wrong. The waiter was not nice, but his boss lady was great and attentive. It's a pitty, as a year ago it was a place I'd gladly recommend, but not anymore.

We had the tofu curry (113) and the clay pot crispy rice with mushrooms (115). Both dishes were too sweet (I'm not even convinced they used good brown palm sugar) and the portions were very small for the price. The curry was about 18 euros and it was with only one small tofu block sliced up. For the price, the rice could have been a better quality too. It's just a shame. The crispy clay pot rice was made with old rice, which is just good business, really, so I don't understand why the portion has to also be so small. Service was attentive. I kept thinking they could have saved money on the decoration to serve better food. I don't think I'll ever go back.

It was my last visit to Ho Tay. Price/performance and service are absolutely no longer right. A portion of Pho Bo for €18 is outrageous because it won't fill you up. The broth itself was ok, the rice noodles were a bit al dente. The prices are similar to other Vietnamese restaurants in Schwabing or at the State Opera in the city center MUC. A small extra request was also not fulfilled. I asked if I could get additional fresh Thai chillies (I would also have paid an extra charge). I was offered chillies marinated in fish sauce, which wouldn't have gone well with the soup as the Pho was salty enough anyway. According to the waiter, there was nothing else, although the Thai chillies in the Pho were... strange. At €18 I would have expected more service. Furthermore, we waited almost 30 minutes for the soup, even though there wasn't much going on in the restaurant. Conclusion: I really liked this place and have celebrated my birthday there with several people in the past. I am all the more disappointed about the current developments. Too bad.

Nice store but very overpriced. I ordered crispy duck with rice and oyster sauce over the phone to pick up. This dish is priced at €11.90 on the lunch menu. I paid 10 euros more. The taste is average, like any other Thai and not worth its more than 20€. Sorry, but that was the first time and the last time.

We had a birthday party on 10/26/21. Everyone was extremely enthusiastic. We had excellent food and extremely warm and attentive staff. The interior of the restaurant is warm and friendly and the seats and cushions are very comfortable. All around: the restaurant is highly recommended. Thank you Addendum: We were there until today, September 24th. often in this wonderful restaurant and always extremely satisfied.

Northern Munich is full of lovely surprises. The food is tasty, with a long and varied list of choices. I particularly appreciate the self spring rolls with many fresh ingredients. They have an interesting selection of exotic cocktails, too. We ate outside, but I want to go back again during the winter months, because inside it’s cozy and elegant.

One of our absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Munich! Unfortunately a little out of the way, but outstanding for the location. The staff is super nice and the food is super tasty and beautifully prepared. The vegetarian dishes are also something different and taste excellent. A little dish tip: be sure to try out the summer rolls that you can roll yourself. This is fun and delicious :) We always enjoy coming to Ho Tay.
