Historisches Gasthaus zum Rockenbrunn in Leinburg

We were there as a group of 14 people. Unfortunately, we were split between two tables on the first floor because apparently nothing else was available (despite prior reservations). I had a cordon bleu, which was not at all good value for money. At first, I thought I had accidentally ordered a children's plate because it was so small. The end of a ham was hidden in the cordon bleu. It was 5 mm thick and only half the size of the schnitzel. So they cut costs quite a bit.

A beautiful place, you can pick your own fish from the pond. The food is outstanding. Be careful, though! It can get hectic at times because it's so popular.

We had come from Upper Bavaria and were on our way home. Unfortunately, we arrived at 9:05 p.m. and weren't given anything to eat, not even cold food. A young man told us this very casually, without losing his gaze. Unfortunately, that doesn't have much to do with hospitality. Young man, if you were born here, it's not your calling. What a pity!

A reservation was made for us upstairs. Placing an order was almost impossible. The schnitzel was thin and burnt. The fish was dripping with fat. We had to eat without drinks. Payment didn't work due to a computer error. Four of us had to wait half an hour standing in front of the cash register until we were paid. TIP: Please don't make a reservation if we don't have capacity. We had visitors from abroad and wanted to show off something special, but it went completely wrong. A real shame.

The 3 points are purely for the unique ambiance. The staff is rude to the max—I've rarely experienced anything so unfriendly. And by 7 p.m. (during the week), all the Franconian delicacies were gone, including the beer. (They must have been trying to empty their fridge.)

A Franconian gem, if you will. Everything fits perfectly. Without a reservation, there's absolutely no chance. I had the classic Schäufala. Perfect.

We (unfortunately) only had a few drinks there and were very impressed by the unique ambiance with its beautiful lighting in the historic courtyard. Next time, we'll definitely have dinner.

A wonderful restaurant with a particularly historic ambiance, a lovely courtyard with a fish pond in the middle. The dining room and adjoining rooms are also pleasant. The service was friendly at first, but then became noticeably irritated. The food was very tasty. The schnitzel with potato salad and fries, as well as the cordon bleu and shoulder of pork. We also found the side salad very tasty. Good value for money. Parking is available in front of the door.

Wow, what a wonderful place. We actually wanted to go somewhere else, but it was full, so we found this gem. Great ambiance in historic surroundings, good food, and reasonable prices. Yes, the service seemed a bit disorganized at times, but was always friendly and helpful – all in all, a definite recommendation.

I stayed on 6.6.2025. in Rockenbrunn. Everything was at the highest level, the food was excellent, the drinks were top-notch (especially the pear brandy), the ambiance was to be desired. Had a table for 10 people on Easter Monday. Service and friendliness cannot be beat. Chapeau Where I was personally disappointed was the meatloaf. I wanted to order it twice, but according to the waitress, it's only available once. Then suddenly there are two more. The slice of meatloaf was really thin, in my opinion two portions were made from one portion, but of course the price remained the same. Compared to the other portions (schnitzel, Schäufele, etc.) this was a children's plate. Not nice. . .

Extremely courteous service, they really enjoy doing their job. Nothing works without a reservation. Excellent food, the Rockers Cordon Bleu or the spinach dumplings, very tasty. Quaint ambience!

Good middle-class inn in a rustic Franconian atmosphere

It's a shame that there are still hardly any vegetarian dishes in the country. In 2025, plant-based choices should be a given - out of consideration for the environment, animals and the lifestyles of many people. I hope something moves soon.

Went to dinner with you on April 13th, 2025. Despite busy times completely friendly and Attentive, with such a full house it's hard to imagine. The Schäuferla....., ....actually indescribable, "A dream" isn't enough, but I can't think of anything better, sorry! Would like to go with the people you know Complete Arnie's sentence: "I'll be back!" But for me it doesn't take two Years, like Arnie! Thank you very much!!!!!!!

We were here on Easter Sunday and had good food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the upper area of ​​the inn is a little “dusty” and was not visited very regularly by the service staff. We would come back though!

We recently had dinner here and immediately fell in love. The offer is great, the food is very tasty and the prices are TOP. The only small drawback are the rooms on the upper floor. The stage technology ruins a lot of the beautiful ambience. But that shouldn't bother you too much, we'll be back.

An inn that lacks the usual setting but has charm. From the outside it looks like an old estate, but the inside is spartan and very rustic This style in particular makes it something very special. Food excellent, staff very accommodating. Absolutely recommended.

Food is always very good. We go to Rockers often and are always very satisfied. Unfortunately, yesterday we were served by such an unfriendly service person who neither knows the words please nor thank you and she doesn't know what a friendly smile is either. The height of rudeness was that our greeting was not returned when we left the restaurant. We don't know anything like that in Rockers. The service staff were always super friendly and nice. The lady mentioned above should look for something else to do.

Food was good. Service was mediocre and sometimes snippy when asked where the food was. After 1.5 hours of waiting, you can actually ask about it...

If you are looking for a rustic inn, this is the right place for you. The Franconian bratwursts are definitely recommended, and you can't even leave out the bread that goes with them. Of course I recommend the beer garden in summer. It can get very crowded in winter, but there are also alternative options upstairs.

This old inn is always an experience. We have known it for over 40 years! Although it has changed due to the change of ownership (no longer a village pub / although the food and friendliness was also great in the village pub) but now it is simply a well-kept restaurant with really good food.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. We waited two whole hours for our food and nothing came. During this time no one apologized or asked if we wanted to order any more drinks. The service was simply non-existent. Other guests received their meals in the meantime, even though they were seated much later than us. After two hours of frustration and no food, we finally decided to pay and leave the restaurant. No attempt to save the situation, no explanation - completely unprofessional. We are more than dissatisfied and will definitely not be coming back. I cannot recommend this restaurant! (Aside from asking for a high chair for the baby and only getting it after about 1.5 hours?!)

We were looking forward to a meal together with the family and were mercilessly disappointed. We had reserved the table for 1:15 p.m. At 3 p.m. we paid for the drinks and left without eating because the dishes we ordered didn't come. Strangely, guests at the surrounding tables, who arrived much later than us, ordered, ate and in some cases already paid during the time we were there. On the way out, dishes like we ordered were handed out to other tables. So the kitchen had capacity. I don't think we misbehaved, I think we were very patient until 3 p.m. This guesthouse is no longer an option for us. They'll never see us again.

Visited 9/15/24, 4 adults, about 18 Good address for home-style dining. Not outstanding, but tasty and plentiful. Service was very friendly and quick, and despite the wedding party upstairs there was only a short time between ordering and serving. You should probably make a reservation on the weekend - the restaurant was full. Card payment possible. Recommended address, we will be back!

Without a reservation, we were very lucky - we had it 😉 The food was very good and the price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. We had roulades and venison and both were really delicious. The salad is also tasty - not a classic side salad, but a really tasty endive salad. All in all highly recommended.

Kirchweih in Rockenbrunn. Unfortunately bad weather on Sunday, no one can do anything about it. Beer 6€, that's pretty steep, the other drinks weren't a bargain either. And there was no sight or sound of the announced live music.

Were there yesterday on Kärwa. 5 euros for 500ml of water is quite impressive. Inflation...blah blah blubb. I'll save myself from publishing the remaining (food) prices here. That would be almost detrimental to business.

Historical inn is not the case, but in need of renovation! Roof tiles can no longer be seen because of the moss. Furnishings are more dated than historic. Musty smell in the inn, a very pungent smell of urine in the toilets. The waiter walked past the table a few times without asking if we would like something else to drink. Normally it is common practice in inns that when the glass is empty the guest is asked for a drink. Fries served in a frying basket instead of nicely arranged on the plate, which is to be expected given the prices! Ordered dumpling with sauce, dumpling floating in the sauce, more sauce than dumpling, otherwise the food was okay, I've eaten better before but sometimes worse.

We were here with 12 people to celebrate our birthday. When the drinks arrived, 1/4 of 3 wheat were restricted to below the calibration mark. When I asked that it wasn't properly restricted, the waitress was very cheeky and said that it wasn't restricted. After a while the food was picked up, the food came pretty quickly. But the portions for cordon bleu were very small, fries were lukewarm, fish was dry, Balkan skewers were fine, veal goulash tasted like a can (metal taste), salad was the best. Prices are outrageous for this food. I'm from the catering industry myself but something like that doesn't work. Not to be missed!!!
