Very good Franconian food and friendly service

We went there with a large birthday party for dinner and a celebration. Everyone was more than satisfied. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the service super friendly. We're already planning our next celebration there.

We ate and slept here as part of a birthday celebration. The food was fantastic, served almost simultaneously to all guests (despite the variety of dishes available). The service was fantastic—fast, friendly, and fun! There was nothing wrong with our room in the guesthouse either, except that a cat visited us one night—we slept on the ground floor with the window open. 🐱 All in all: a definite recommendation, and I'll be back for dinner soon!

A lovely Franconian inn near the highway. We stopped here for lunch while passing through and were well-fed, with generous portions and very good value for money. The kitchen is open until 2 p.m. Despite the large number of guests, we were served promptly and only had to wait a little longer for our drinks.

We'd go back immediately, and since we've seen and tried the various dishes together, we'd go back again and again and would happily eat every dish. The service is excellent, and the family-run management is exemplary. The cozy and clean ambiance isn't noticeable. Reservations are recommended.

We have been regular customers at the Grüner Baum for many years. We love being pampered there with culinary delights; all the dishes are excellent, always lovingly prepared, and a feast for the palate, every time. The menu offers a very good selection of dishes for everyone. It feels like coming home; you are always warmly welcomed and greeted. The waitresses are top-notch, all on the ball, always excellent, and very attentive to the guests' needs. A special thank you goes to Sandra, who is the kind soul we find at the Grüner Baum, always very friendly and kind. She sees when the glasses are empty, and when we have reserved a table, our dog's bowl is always ready. For our friends' wedding anniversary, a very sweetly written A4 sheet of paper with beautiful words was placed on the table as a welcome. Simply enchanting 😍 The hotel is also very good and meticulously clean. We hosted our guests from the far north here; they were thrilled with the service and the rooms. The food and service are absolutely fantastic, no question about it. We've been there several times. What really bothers me these days, though, is that you can never get a table. We've been calling for weeks, trying to reserve a table for the evening, but unfortunately, to no avail. If there's a wedding or a big celebration, I really understand that, but it doesn't matter when you want to come, whether it's during the week or on the weekend. They immediately tell you on the phone that they don't have room, and that's not even for two people. Unfortunately, it's a real shame because it's actually a good restaurant.

A lovely beer garden with a children's playground behind the house. Very friendly service and an outstandingly good Schäuferla (a pork sausage). We stayed much longer than planned because we felt so comfortable. Another positive is that the meat is freshly butchered every Thursday, and the Franconian tradition of Kesselfleisch (pot roast) and Schlachtplatte (meat platter) is still alive here. Friends of ours and their two children stayed here and also raved about the great rooms and the delicious food. Therefore, 5 stars from me

A definite recommendation! Right on the main street, parking available, delicious food and drinks, and very friendly staff (especially Niklosch).

We recently visited the restaurant with a group of twelve people and would like to share our impressions. The food was consistently very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our positive experience was significantly marred by the organization of the service. Although we had reserved a table for 11:30 a.m., we received our dishes up to 45 minutes apart. The last meal wasn't served until around 12:30 p.m., meaning some guests had already finished before others had even received their meals. To make matters worse, there appeared to be a double reservation for our table. Shortly after 1 p.m., we were asked to leave, which ultimately resulted in us having to leave the restaurant. This was particularly irritating, as we had previously had to wait a very long time for our food. Our dessert order was taken, but another server looked a bit skeptical—presumably due to the late hour. If all twelve people had thought of ordering dessert, we probably would have only been able to get it to go. Overall, the food was excellent, but the organization and the way we were treated as guests were disappointing. We would have preferred a smoother process and more respectful treatment.

The food is truly delicious, and when everything arrives at the same time, it's also really fresh. Unfortunately, they were a bit overscheduled today. Perhaps there were too many guests? There were five of us, and the first two schnitzels were already there without potato salad. It only arrived after everyone had already eaten one. Then the question of who would get something else... The two cordon bleu were also brought without a side dish, after 10 minutes. Then the salads and fries for the last meal finally arrived. But this meal (sirloin) was apparently forgotten and brought when we were all finished. And the fries were cold. I got some more, but I was barely hungry by then... That's a real shame, since you really want to eat together. I was really very disappointed. It was tasty, but unfortunately, it was really annoying. A shame.

I stayed in the guesthouse. They haven't been modernized yet, but they're perfectly adequate. The food is delicious and not expensive, and the service was very good, too. The breakfast was excellent.

By the way, there are several daily specials. Everything is good value for money. The portions are generous. It was a successful birthday party there. Thanks to the entire team. A little break with a friend at the beginning of July. We actually got a seat on the terrace without a reservation. I had the chanterelles. My first one this year. And I can tell you, not all cream sauces are created equal. Incredibly delicious, you can probably tell from the photo. It couldn't be better. My friend had the Schäufele (shoulder of pork). That was also fantastic. 100 percent value for money. And once again, many thanks to the fantastic staff.

Excellent value for money, both at the hotel and in the restaurant. Recently renovated rooms, including bathrooms. Daily room cleaning. Breakfast with a wide selection and fresh, crusty rolls. The restaurant is relatively inexpensive, so it's busy and reservations are essential. Sometimes you have to be a little more patient, but the staff are all on the ball.

A great restaurant for the whole family! We were truly impressed! The food was delicious – especially the schnitzel and the cordon bleu: crispy, juicy, and really large portions at very fair prices. The side dishes were also fresh and well-seasoned. The playground is a dream for children – large, clean, and safe. This meant we adults could eat in peace while the little ones had fun. The outdoor area is beautifully landscaped and inviting, especially in good weather. Special praise also goes to the friendly and attentive service – very friendly, child-friendly, and quick. An all-round successful family outing – we'll definitely be back!

A beautiful place where the world is still in order. Very good food at prices that are certainly not exorbitant, but a feast for the eyes and palate. Exceptionally friendly staff, from breakfast to dinner, whether it was the extremely courteous Nikos or his colleagues, whose names we didn't ask. It was busy every night we stayed here. But no one seemed annoyed, stressed, or overwhelmed. Overall, a harmonious atmosphere; we felt very comfortable here.

I actually only know the restaurant as a delivery driver. Today was the first time I ate there with my family. My expectations were more than exceeded. First, we were greeted by the lovely senior manager, Helga. The selection of dishes is so large and varied that it was difficult to decide. So, I ordered a delicious Sebaldus Weizen beer first. It was well chilled and delicious. I then opted for the Bavarian liver dumpling soup. I can only say, wow! It was delicious. Well-seasoned and flavorful with two liver dumplings. Then I had the Franconian plate with a small Schäuferla (pork shoulder), crusted roast, rippla (roasted pork), a Knidla (roasted pork shoulder) and salad. Since I had such a hard time deciding, this was the best choice. The crusts on both the roast and the Schäuferla were perfect. The meat was also nice and tender and delicious. The rippla (roasted pork shoulder) was also very good. The salad was fresh and seasoned with a delicious vinegar and oil mix. The kids had the classic schnitzel. I tried it. A really good schnitzel. Bottom line: I haven't had such good Franconian food in a long time. And the prices are more than fair. We'll definitely be back. Everything is just right here. I've been there several times, and it's always been better. On a holiday, the weather was nice, everyone wanted to sit on the terrace, and the staff were completely overwhelmed. Correction: We were on your terrace on May 1st, not on White Sunday. The restaurant was empty inside. Besides, I wouldn't want to be a second-class guest when you're having parties.

We went there to eat asparagus, a delicious dish with schnitzel. Top price performance and the starter soups also convinced us. It's very busy, but if you wait a little you can usually get a seat if it's spontaneous.

We always like to come back because the service is very friendly and you never have to wait long for your food - even when the house is full (which is actually always the case). The portion sizes are absolutely sufficient and everything is reasonable in terms of price. The ambience is wonderful, but it is very noisy at peak times on weekends, especially in the next room, as the bags are packed very close together there. There are parking spaces, but there are too few and they are actually always occupied.
