Very tasty. We'd love to come back. Excellent service. We love going there.

I had sushi, dessert, and green tea (with refills). The sushi is varied and delicious. The service was excellent. Despite the size and the fact that the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night(!), we never had to wait long. The dessert is also really good. The only criticism, which cannot be remedied, is that it is quite loud in the restaurant due to the architecture (and, of course, the constant conversation). Nevertheless: Definitely worth a visit! I'll be back!

The food was good, they are really trying to keep natural taste of products - they don’t use much sugar for drinks, great balance of spices. Although, the service was not really good. The waiter calculated the bill not only for our dishes we ordered, but also for food from another table. Maybe it was accidentally, but he really didn’t check it beforehand

A meal to forget, and then ripped off ☝️! The quality leaves a lot to be desired; compared to Hiro Forchheim and Tam Erlangen, they're a clear loser. We had gyoza for starters, which were okay, and satay rolls and vegan tomoko for main courses. The chicken and duck were overcooked and had no flavor. My Osaka platter was a disaster; the sake sashimi smelled slightly fishy, ​​so it wasn't entirely fresh. Some of the nigiri pieces were tarnished and dried around the edges, so I settled for the rice. In the ura maki, there was flax/skin in the sake in the second piece of salmon. The maguro wasn't very appealing in color and, as you could see, had been cut open for hours in the refrigerator. When I asked the first server, I was told that everything was fresh 😂 the ginger was dry and lackluster, like all the fish, so that can't be entirely accurate, I realized. Then waitress II came over and asked, "Can I offer you an espresso as compensation?" Okay, we agreed. The result: half the plate went back, and only one person received compensation for the espresso, while the second one was added to the bill. Customer service and compensation were botched, and in retrospect, they were ripped off. Definitely not recommended; the quality is seriously lacking.

I recently went here for dinner with my boyfriend to celebrate our 7-year anniversary. The attentive waiter immediately noticed that I hadn't just gone to the restroom for the excellent food, but for a second helping from him personally. Wow, I've never been served like this before. The meat selection was plentiful and fresh, the preparation juicy and full of finesse. For dessert, there was something sweet to lick, and the whole thing was rounded off with a fine wine. A culinary firework. I left the restaurant so happy that my relationship with my boyfriend is still going strong today, and we're even considering having the waiter make a baby soon. I'd love to go back!

The food was incredible. Johann, who is a waiter, chef, and manager, is a true golden boy. He served us with such wonderful charisma that the entire room was lit up. As we were leaving, he spontaneously cured my grandmother of her asthma and gave us money for her continued recovery. An unforgettable stay—I would come back anytime.

Unfortunately, Hiro was definitely better a few years ago. It's still beautifully presented, with lots of frills, but the taste is rather average. The service is nice, but orders get forgotten (due to the high frequency, it must be said!), and after the meal, you feel like you should just pay and leave. Bottom line: you can do better!

I've been coming regularly since the restaurant opened. In the early evening, it's still quiet and cozy, but later in the evening, it gets busier, and the noise level increases considerably. The food always tastes excellent and is of high quality. The service is often a bit overwhelmed, but always friendly. The value for money is good, in my opinion, and I continue to enjoy coming to the restaurant.

I ordered the salmon (€18.90) and was unfortunately disappointed. It was served with two very thin slices of salmon and a sauce that wasn't particularly flavorful. There was far too much bok choy, and the rice wasn't really hot. For the price, I expected much more. On the plus side, however, is the lovely outdoor terrace.

Wunderbares Restaurant, Sushi ist sehr lecker!

If you don't like sushi (me, for example), you'll only find a limited selection of dishes, but they're all the more varied. Visually and tastefully an explosion for the eyes and palate. The waiters are incredibly quick and attentive, everything is organized down to the smallest detail. Points deducted for the ambience, the room has something of a hall, lots of small tables for lots of people who all talk at once... it's certainly not cozy. I still like to go there every now and then!

Leider haben wir uns recht spät ( 13.00 )entschlossen das Restaurant aufzusuchen. Hätten Wir besser nicht getan. Der sehr unfreundliche Servicemitarbeiter brachte mir leider ein Essen was ich nicht bestellt hatte. Ansonsten gerne aber die öligen frittierten Gemüsebatzen wollte ich nicht sondern das von mir bestellte Curry mit Reis . Leider waren es die 15 Minuten nicht wert darauf zu warten. Lieblos in die Schüssel gestopft, keine Garnitur, nichtmal ein korianderblättchen war zu finden . Der Geschmack sehr fade , der Koch muss etwas Curry mit Wasser aufgegossen haben , sei es aus falschen Sparmaßnahmen oder weil die Portion sonst zu klein gewesen wäre sei dahingestellt. Das Bier war gut, nur das Glas dreckig..sah ich aber erst am Boden des Glases, Krusten der vorherigen Benutzer…. Das der Servicemitarbeiter mir aber sagte das die Küche mein Essen ( welches ich bestellt hatte !! ) mir jetzt doch macht, aber ich normal das Essen zu nehmen habe was mir fälschlicherweise serviert wurde fand ich zum Geschmack des Essens irgendwie passend. Leider scheint es hier so zu sein das ein Budget erreicht wurde und alle Mitarbeiter leider nur noch auf Sparflamme ihren Dienst „ herunterreißen „… Schade den wir waren gerne regelmäßige Gäste, waren den ab heute nicht mehr ! Viel Erfolg wenn Qualität und Quantität sehr aber sehr zu wünschen übrig lassen !

The place serves amazing Japanese and Chinese food, one of the best I have ever had. The Sushis are a must have and the atmosphere is electric. The location is conveniently reachable by car and by bus. Finding parking may be challenging at times, but can always find something with few minutes of search. A must visit. Appropriate for parties as well as for dining out with family. Very busy, so suggest to make a booking upfront.

From the best sushi in Erlangen to the bitterest and most unfriendly restaurant. I wonder what happened there. The mood of the waitress varies from bad-tempered to rude. Small "requests" (napkin or cutlery!) take forever and things are almost thrown at the table. Despite the good food (at premium prices), I no longer like eating in such an atmosphere. I tried it 3 more times but unfortunately always had the same experience in the last six months. It's better to take a few steps to the best Italian restaurant in town, just around the corner.

Das Sushi, dass ich beim Hiro-Sakao Erlangen bestellt und abgeholt habe, war im Vergleich zu der sonst üblichen Qualität fast schon beleidigend und grenzte an Betrug. Auf dem Bild kann man deutlich sehen, was versprochen und was letztendlich geliefert wurde. Ganz zu schweigen davon, wie es geschmeckt hat. Mitgegeben wurde 2 Tütchen Sojasoße und einmal Stäbchen (Schwamm drüber) Nachdem ich mich beschwert hatte, wurde mir von der Restaurant Leitung mitgeteilt, dass es an meinem Geschmack liegen würde (Gut, dass Bilder selbsterklärend sind / Auge isst mit). Ich habe daraufhin schriftlich um ein Telefonat mit der Geschäftsleitung gebeten. Mir wurde jedoch gesagt, dass dies in nächster Zeit nicht möglich sei, aber ich würde einen 10-Euro-Gutschein erhalten (schade). Ich weiß nicht, wie es anderen Kunden geht, aber bei Sushi und den heutigen Preisen sowie der Qualität des Fisches hat der Verzehr dieses Produkts viel mit Vertrauen und Qualität zu tun. So etwas gönnt man sich nicht alle Tage! Was mir angeboten wurde und was ich letztendlich für mein Geld bekommen habe, stehen in keinem Verhältnis zueinander. Da hätte ich auch zum Bahnhof gehen können. Aufgrund der qualitativen Entwicklung und der Kommunikation dieses Restaurants würde ich es nicht weiterempfehlen. Aber das kann natürlich auch an meinem Geschmack liegen. Eine Brille hatte ich aber definitiv auf! Falls jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen mit solchen Einspar-Maßnahmen gemacht hat, bitte ich darum, hier ebenfalls zu unser aller Wohl und Zufriedenheit ein Statement hinterlassen.

After dining at Hiro Sakai in Erlangen several times by now, we can confirm that the restaurant delivers good quality consistently. Plenty of choice (bit too much in my opinion) but once you get familiar with the menu it's alright. Service is very friendly and there are as well enough parking spots in the area. Can be crowded in the evening.

Sushi and sashimi of average freshness and quality, edamame limp (and too big), seaweed salad too sweet and - like the salmon carpacchio - of an unpleasant consistency. Really sophisticated dishes and qualities are missing. Middle class with some drawbacks; It's a shame that it's no longer possible in Erlangen.

Fans of authentic Japanese cuisine will get their money's worth here. And the service is also impeccable. In comparison, the interior design is a bit different: narrow seating and unhindered sound propagation can bring back memories of a beer tent and waiting room.

The friendliness of the service depends somewhat on who you are served by. However, many of the waiters are very courteous and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend Hiro Sakao.
