Hiro Sakao in Erlangen

From the best sushi in Erlangen to the bitterest and most unfriendly restaurant. I wonder what happened there. The mood of the waitress varies from bad-tempered to rude. Small "requests" (napkin or cutlery!) take forever and things are almost thrown at the table. Despite the good food (at premium prices), I no longer like eating in such an atmosphere. I tried it 3 more times but unfortunately always had the same experience in the last six months. It's better to take a few steps to the best Italian restaurant in town, just around the corner.

It s a very decent ppace if you like Asian food and sushi. Tom-Yom is a must !

The food is really great, I could eat it all day long. It is correspondingly expensive, including the drinks, but you can treat yourself sometimes. Would go back at any time. You can also find vegan and vegetarian options.

After dining at Hiro Sakai in Erlangen several times by now, we can confirm that the restaurant delivers good quality consistently. Plenty of choice (bit too much in my opinion) but once you get familiar with the menu it's alright. Service is very friendly and there are as well enough parking spots in the area. Can be crowded in the evening.

HiroSakao is always a good address in Erlangen if you want to eat sushi. The sushi isn't particularly authentically Japanese, but it's tasty and the portions are huge. We had a very good tempura and a so-called sashimi salad, which I wouldn't recommend.

The service was second to none. The waiters always had a pleasant and friendly tone, they were courteous and attentive and you felt looked after and welcome. Recommendations were made that demonstrated the expertise of the dishes. As for the food, the sushi was terrific, the sashimi was delicately buttery and fresh. The sushi was perfectly prepared and there was decent wasabi!! The ginger that was served with the sushi was pickled and super light, not too spicy. The dessert, black rice, an Asian version of rice pudding, super tasty and a perfect ending. We were completely satisfied, thank the waiter for the great evening that we will remember and will definitely come back soon!! Absolute recommendation

The place serves amazing Japanese and Chinese food, one of the best I have ever had. The sushis are a must have and the atmosphere is electric. The location is conveniently reachable by car and by bus. Finding parking may be challenging at times, but can always find something with few minutes of search. A must visit. Appropriate for parties as well as for dining out with family.

Inside you can watch the sushi masters making the sushi, which is something special in the metropolitan region. There are sushi and sashimi platters with all types of fish your heart desires, but also tempura and modern sushi interpretations. The friendliness of the service depends somewhat on who you are served by. However, many of the waiters are very courteous and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend Hiro Sakao.

The prices are slightly higher than at comparable restaurants. But these are definitely justified by the friendliness of the staff and the large selection of sushi. Went there to eat shushi. We were picked up right at the entrance and given a nice table for two. Drinks and appetizers arrived shortly after ordering. The main course also came quickly. As always, delicious and wonderfully prepared. We'd love to come back.

Food was delicious; the sushi selection is huge. We also had the fried noodles. Something that bothered us was that the menu only listed Japanese cabbage as a vegetable that was served with it. The fried noodles are served with a variety of vegetables. Here it would be better to either title it like that or list everything. However, we had to quickly adapt the dish again because we had an allergy sufferer with us. Our drink order went down once but it was also busy. All in all, we would come back.

Wir waren bisher nur im Little Hiro und wollten endlich gerne den „großen Bruder“ ausprobieren. Das Essen war großartig, die Cocktails sehr lecker und der Service super zuvorkommend. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder! Wir hatten die Jakobsmuscheln als Vorspeise, die haben es uns besonders angetan. Das Sushi ist sehr vielfältig und es gibt viele besondere Zubereitungen. Perfekt abgerundet wurde unser Abend mit den Mochi - Matcha, Mango Cheesecake & Vanille. Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert, Parkplätze sind in näherer Umgebung ausreichend vorhanden.

Die Qualität hat sich in den letzten drei Jahren verschlechtert. Die Sushi sind unterschiedlich groß, zerfallen und der Lachs ist papierdünn. Der Reis klebt am Teller. Ich habe flambierten Lachs bestellt, aber er war nicht einmal zur Hälfte flambiert. Die bestellten Gyoza waren angebrannt. Die Bilder bestätigen alles. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht. Aber die Bedienung war schnell, aber dadurch, dass ich mit dem Essen unzufrieden war, wollte ich kein Trinkgeld geben. Da ich zum Essen mit meinem Kumpel gekommen bin und die Rechnung geteilt werden sollte, haben wir den Beleg gewünscht. Es stellte sich fest, dass der Kellner ohne unser Wunsch für sich 4€ Trinkgeld addiert hat ohne uns etwas zu sagen, nach der Feststellung haben wir ihn aufgefordert uns das Geld zurück auszuzahlen. Den Beweis entnehmen Sie bitte vom letzten Bild. Für mich ist dieser Ort leider „no go“ geworden, sehr sehr schade.

Immer und immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Das Essen ist immer frisch und fantastisch zubereitet. Ambiente etwas zu laut im Innenraum, da ist es im Sommer draußen, nochmal schöner. Service durch junge, engagierte Kellner, flink und freundlich. Daumen hoch, macht weiter so.

Hier kann man eigentlich nichts falsch machen, alles lecker und frisch. Ob Sushi, Vorspeisen kalt und warm, immer gleichbleibende gute Qualität.

Trendige Location, aber ... Absolut inkompetentes und geldgeiles Management (damit es für den Betrieb und Unterhalt des PORSCHE CAYENNE des Besitzers finanziell reicht)...Keinerlei Flexibilität und Kundenservice...Erst die Kundschaft ungefähr 25 Minuten auf die Sushibestellung warten lassen und dann die Kreditkarte nicht annehmen, weil ihnen der Betrag zu gering ist. Wir haben dann natürlich sofort kehrt gemacht und die warmen Sushi unangerührt auf der Theke stehengelassen...so vernichtet man teure Lebensmittel (Taschenkrebs, Ente etc.), weil man zu stur ist bei 20€ eine Kreditkarte anzunehmen...Die Kreditkartengebühr wäre deutlich günstiger gewesen als die nun ruinierten Lebensmittel, die man nun nicht mehr verkaufen kann sowie der komplett entgangene Umsatz...Und Nutztiere sind leider auch wieder einmal nur für den Mülleimer gestorben - wie traurig ist das denn! Nie wieder betreten wir diesen unterirdischen Laden... Was denken die sich in der heutigen Zeit eigentlich dabei 40€ Minimumumsatz für einen Kreditkarteneinsatz zu verlangen? Wenn ein Einzelgast kommt, kann dieser doch nicht automatisch gezwungen werden diesen Betrag auszugeben...der überfrisst sich sonst ja komplett!!! Solche Geschäftspraktiken sind in der heutigen Businesswelt nicht mehr zeitgemäß... Versucht dies doch endlich zu kapieren!!! Oder verliert einfach weiterhin Gäste und riskiert grottenschlechte Bewertungen in allen Onlineportalen... Dies ist eine authentische Erfahrung

Hiro Sakao used to be the chicest eatery which was still quite affordable. The latest price adjustments are absolutely not justified. Way too expensive and the atmosphere between two supermarkets is not on the level. There are much better options in the city center nowadays considering atmosphere, price point, food quality.

I went there with my wife on her birthday. There were so many entrences so I just walked in. One of the waiter was so rude that he just screamed asking to go to the entrance and enter with permission. I could understand if the restaurant was full but it was empty inside. Then we were given a table close to the toilet and it was smelling bad. Then when our food after 45 min there was a big BIG fly in the ginger and I immediately sent it back also the fish used looked like it was sitting out for some time and not fresh at all. We get the food again and it was the same sushi from the previous plate. It was a horrible experience and we decided that day we wouldn't go back there. That being said the same restaurant in Forchheim is a thousand times better, the staff really friendly and fresh food. I'm just going to advise my friends and family never to go to the Erlangen Hiro Sakao. Horrible Horrible Horrible

Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereiter Service. Essen war phantastisch. Wir saßen sehr lange, sicher über 1,5 Stunden. Es kommt wahrscheinlich darauf an wie viel Reservierungen es sind und daher Plätze gebraucht werden. Leider ist das Lokal sehr unpersönlich eingerichtet und wenn es voll ist sehr laut.

Im Freien sitzen ist ok. Da es das regnen anfing, mussten wir rein. Extrem laut!!! Ich kam mir wie in einer Bahnhofstrinkhalle von früher vor. Da half nur noch die Flucht!!! Schade....
