We visited Horizont Buffet on Wednesday and I would like to share my experience. First of all: The waiters were absolutely great! The service was friendly and attentive, which made the evening very enjoyable. The ambience was also excellent – ​​stylish and cozy, so you could immediately feel at home. Unfortunately the buffet itself was rather disappointing. I was missing that certain something that I was hoping for. Many dishes seemed very simple and you could tell that they were prepared in bulk. Most of the dishes were oven dishes, which tasted okay, but were by no means outstanding. The wow factor was missing, especially with the main courses such as schnitzel, chicken breast with tomato mozzarella and salmon in dill mustard sauce. These dishes were solid, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the breading of the schnitzel was no longer crispy, and the chicken was more reminiscent of a quick meal at home. I would like to positively highlight the watermelon salad, which was really excellently prepared. It would have been nice if more special side dishes/mains like this were offered. Unfortunately, the meat specialties mentioned in the advertising were also missing - especially the advertised beef. Don't get me wrong: the food was tasty overall, but it just lacked that certain something that you expect from a special buffet. I would have liked dishes like sliced ​​roast beef, vitello tonnato, carpaccio or pork medallions in a special sauce or even an outstanding vegetarian dish. These would have given the buffet that little bit extra that I thought it needed. Another point of criticism is that almost no dish from the regular menu was represented on the buffet. We came specifically to the first Wednesday buffet in the expectation that a lot of effort would be put into offering guests an unforgettable culinary experience. Even if our expectations were not completely met, we still enjoyed some beautiful moments. There were certainly delicious dishes, but we would have liked the buffet to have been a little more varied and sophisticated overall.

Absolutely fantastic - this restaurant is really an asset to the Cloppenburg gastronomic landscape. Great ambience with stylish design and retro elements (tables!), quiet location. The staff is friendly, competent, helpful and always on hand. The menu shines through its manageability in combination with an eclectic mix of traditional, innovative and reinterpreted dishes, all of which are fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. The whole thing is underpinned by an extensive selection of drinks, with the cocktails in particular being particularly impressive. Have already been there twice and are happy to become regulars!

The restaurant absolutely convinced me at the burger event! The burger I tried was hands down one of the best I've ever tasted. The ingredients were of a special quality and the preparation was simply perfect. The selection of drinks was also excellent and rounded off the taste experience. The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful and very cozy, making it an ideal place for special occasions. The service was first class - the staff literally read our wishes from our lips. All in all, an outstanding experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

We had a cozy evening with our almost two-year-old daughter, who was warmly welcomed at Hinterm Horizont. Super child friendly including a playroom. The food was super tasty.

To be honest, a lot of things are talked about in Cloppenburg... Unfortunately. Service and food were great, the mashed potatoes were slightly seasoned too lightly. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of that, an enrichment for Cloppenburg. The staff and their performance definitely deserve more guests.

I had the pleasure of eating at this wonderful eatery recently and absolutely loved it! The food was not only delicious, but also lovingly and creatively prepared. Every dish was a culinary delight and you could literally taste the freshness of the ingredients. The ambience of the restaurant is equally impressive. It is tastefully decorated and exudes a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You immediately feel comfortable and can enjoy the food to the fullest. A special highlight is Matthias, the host. He is an excellent host and made us feel really welcome. His friendly and attentive service rounded off the experience perfectly. Overall, it was a perfect dining experience that I highly recommend to everyone. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We were there for the Italian breakfast buffet. The food was excellent. A large selection of cushions, fish and antipasti. There is also a small selection of desserts, rolls, baguettes, bread, warm mares. Tea, coffee, mineral water, iced tea, orange juice, apple juice and two different wines as much as you wanted. Fried eggs, Crepe Suzette and 3 different scrambled egg variants could be ordered from the staff at any time and in any quantity - these were then freshly prepared. The restaurant is totally chic. There is even a playroom for kids. Everything was very well maintained and clean. The staff was super polite and helpful at all times. We come from Oldenburg, but it's worth a visit again at any time!

Good distance when answering questions. Ambience is top. Reservation via Google was absolutely problem-free.

Small impression; We were guests for the Mother's Day buffet (breakfast). The atmosphere and the gentleman at reception were great! Unfortunately the service staff are completely untrained. The sentence of the day was “I have to ask about that, I haven’t been there that long.” This applies to very simple things that can be avoided with good training; Where can I get hot water for tea? What sauce is on the pasta? That's not a bad thing in itself, but waiting 10-15 minutes for an answer is no longer okay. In addition, the preparation (still foil on the salmon, missing spoons or cutlery) wasn't good either. In addition, refilling the hot food (bacon and sausages) took at least 30 minutes. I can't say for sure because we didn't go after the third time we checked. Conclusion; Ambience and food are top, the service definitely needs to be incorporated. Then you'll get a full 5 stars on your next visit!

Yesterday I was there for the 4th time and it was again very nice and tasty. You are greeted warmly and served immediately. Yesterday was tapas evening with delicious food. Once again I can't say anything negative. The staff puts a lot of effort into making you enjoy the evening The ambience is successful and conveys coziness. We were here for the first time yesterday for our fifth wedding anniversary. We were greeted very friendly at the entrance, our jackets were taken away and we were shown to our table. The service staff is really extremely courteous and attentive, but not intrusive. Both the drink order and the food were served without a long wait. We eat vegan, but the selection was still extensive, which made us particularly happy. The menu also labels the dishes as vegan/vegetarian so you don't have to search or ask for long. The greeting from the kitchen was also adapted accordingly with pesto. The starters and main courses were really excellent and we were full (contrary to other reviews here). At the end of the evening we had two cocktails. As a cocktail lover, I was pleased that when my Negroni was served I was asked whether I had already drunk one before. This shows me that the waitress knows that the drink tastes very, very bitter and therefore asks because it doesn't suit everyone's taste and in order to avoid unpleasant taste surprises. About the price of the cocktails: Good ingredients and an employee who knows what they are doing come at a price. You have to appreciate this quality. When other reviews say it's way too expensive, I don't agree. Thank you for the wonderful evening. We'd love to come back.

The three of us had dinner here at the end of February. We were warmly welcomed. At the table the waitress recommended what we could order as an aperitif until the food arrived. We all took the non-alcoholic version with raspberry. It had a perfect sweet and sour balance. As a starter, we ordered the “Heigt Defekt” and the “Veggie Sushi” to share. Both were super tasty. The beef was extremely tender and juicy and the croquette had a surprising lemongrass note and was a bit spicy. For the main course we had “pork fillet Serrano ham”, “braised veal boiled beef” and “beef fillet”. The meat was cooked to perfection for each of us. For dessert we had "Crème Brûlée" with a combination of sweet and salty, from the seasonal menu the "Tiramisu" and "Magic Chocolate Egg", which was poured over with the hot chocolate sauce by the waitress right at the table. I would definitely highlight the service. Everything was always served quickly and we were always asked if everything was OK or if we would like something more to drink, even though it was busy that evening. My husband and I will definitely come by together sometime. The atmosphere there is just so beautiful and has a romantic touch.

We were there for breakfast. Price performance ratio is not right at all. Filter coffee, nothing more. No other coffee specialties on offer. Only with extra price. Orange juice or other fruit juices are only available at an extra price. Breakfast selection otherwise ok. However, little choice of cereal. We've had better and cheaper experiences.

I recently had dinner here with my girlfriend. We received a really nice welcome, we barely sat down and the order came to us quickly. The food? A dream! Not only did it look great, it also tasted great. Portions are perfect, you are more than full from starter to dessert. The prices are absolutely reasonable and comparable to other restaurants in different cities, where you can also eat well and enjoy a nice ambience.

Drinks were super tasty but a bit expensive for the quantities you get. The selection of dishes is kept very small. In terms of taste, one expected much more, due to what the restaurant exudes and the high prices, unfortunately rather disappointing. In addition, we were served by 4 different service staff and so one or the other was lost.

It's unbelievable that there is a restaurant in this bright blue block in the industrial area! If you don't know better, you'll assume it's a gambling den or a snack bar. For me, an upscale establishment, i.e. a restaurant (and that's what Hinterm Horizont is supposed to be, which is what the menu and prices suggest) is a harmonious overall concept. There were probably less aesthetes at work here, but rather Mr. and Mrs. Wanted and not able, which is also reflected in the service and the quality of the food. Only the interior design matches the desired ambience. Unfortunately it's too expensive for the overall package, which is a shame.

Be careful, they'll let me pay €10 for the greetings from the house. Food was dry fried, very little and incredibly expensive. If that means going out to eat now, I prefer to cook at home, cheaper and much better

Unfortunately the tapas evening didn't convince us! When we thought of tapas, we immediately thought of bacon-wrapped dates and Spanish delicacies, but instead we had sushi (which was already empty at 7:30 p.m.), börek, various mixed salads and meat kept warm (the pork wasn't cooked through). Unfortunately we weren't convinced for the price of €36.00. The dessert tasted very artificial and had little to do with raspberries/berries. Furthermore, we were only provided with drinks once, we would have liked to order more, but since we were upstairs we weren't really noticed.

Hin zum Essen, welches mich wirklich positiv überrascht hat, da ich eigentlich den Standard aus der Region gewohnt bin. Auch der Service is TOP! Alles im allen, einfach perfekt!

Hinterm Horizont eröffnet sich eine neue Welt. Hier wird echte Küche und echte Gastfreundschaft gelebt. Wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen euch in der Zwischenzeit uneingeschränkt weiter :)

Sehr schönes Ambiente, hochkarätige Zutaten und guter, aufmerksamer Service. Menschen, die dieses Restaurant als „schlecht“ betiteln, sollen sich lieber weiterhin ein TK-Schweineschnitzel für 8,99 € um die Ecke holen. Eine Bereicherung für Cloppenburg und Umgebung, aber für das „Klientel“ in diesem Raum wahrscheinlich etwas zu „gut“. Wir empfehlen das Restaurant und werden es weiterhin besuchen.

Im "Hinterm Horziont" kannst du dich einen Abend lang richtig verwöhnen lassen. Perfekter Service. Gehobene Küche und absolut wundervolles Ambiente! Einfach wow!

Ein fantastisches noch junges Restaurant. Alle 3 Gänge waren in sich super stimmig. Perfekte Kompositionen und wirklich Gerichte, die besonders sind und für die man auswärts essen geht. Marinierte Wassermelone findet man sicher nicht überall. Ein super aufmerksamer, netter und zuvorkommender Service. Es wurde sogar explizit nachgefragt ob die 0,5% Alkohol im Alkoholfreien cocktail für die schwangere in Ordnung sind oder nicht. Das Ambiente und die Einrichtung einfach toll und zum wohlfühlen. So viel Liebe im Detail. Hier werden sich sehr viele Gedanken gemacht wie Essengehen eine echte Erholung und ein Vergnügen sein können.

Beim zweiten Besuch waren wir wieder positiv anders überrascht. Die Karte wurde dem Oldenburger Münsterland angepasst. Service und Küche waren super!

Von außen eher schlicht und unscheinbar, eröffnet sich eine ganz neue Welt, wenn man hineintritt. Tolle, geschmackvolle Einrichtung, freundlicher Empfang - sind die ersten Eindrücke die man erhält. Die Speisekarte ist „anders“ und eher als Novum zu bezeichnen, das gilt für die Gerichte, die Cocktails, als auch die restlichen Getränke. Der freundliche Service geht am Tisch weiter. Aufmerksam und zuvorkommend wird kein Wunsch ungehört gelassen. Die einzelnen Speisen kommen schnell und in hoher Qualität an den Tisch, Sonderwünschen steht man offen gegenüber. Man fühlt sich so wohl, dass man gar nicht bemerkt wie die Zeit vergeht. Absolut empfehlenswert!!!

Wir hatten wegen einiger Kommentare kurz überlegt ob wir dem Restaurant eine Chance geben wollen oder nicht. Wie so oft im Leben hilft es sich selbst ein Bild zu machen. Toller und freundlicher Service, hervorragende Cocktails, sehr, sehr gutes Essen (mit Portionen bei denen wirklich jeder satt werden sollte) zu absolut fairen Preisen. Würde jedem empfehlen sich davon selbst zu überzeugen.

Wir waren heute beim Frühstücksbüffet im Hinterm Horizont. Die Auswahl der Speisen war sehr gut und lecker. Außerdem hat uns das Personal sehr freundlich empfangen und umsorgt. Können wir weiterempfehlen!

Obwohl ich zur Eröffnung dieses Restaurants einen Gutschein gewonnen hatte, habe ich ihn doch erst letzte Woche eingelöst; wieso? Weil man einem neuen Restaurant immer erst mal die Chance geben sollte sich zu entwickeln, das Team muss sich einspielen, die Richtung muss bestimmt werden, Fehler müssen gemacht werden und man sollte die Leute erstmal reden lassen, bevor man sich selbst ein Bild macht. Hat sich das Warten also gelohnt? Ja definitiv, das Ambiente war ja schon von den Fotos auf Social Media her schön anzusehen, aber in Echt war es nochmal ein anderes Erlebnis, als ob man sich gar nicht mehr in Cloppenburg befinden würde, sondern eher in einer Großstadt. Der Service war sehr gut, nicht aufdringlich, sondern aufmerksam. Großes Lob an Niklas, besonders für seine Getränkeempfehlung - Erdbeer Spritz - und unseren Nachtisch, der es hoffentlich auch auf die neue Speisekarte schaffen wird. Zum Fazit bleibt eigentlich nur zu sagen, wir kommen wieder, denn es hat sich gelohnt, wir sind zufrieden und besonders wichtig mit vollen Mägen nach Hause gefahren.

Hin und weg fasziniert. Zugegeben, es ist eine höhere Preisklasse, aber für das was man geboten bekommt mehr als angemessen. Für jeden der einen besonderen Abend in einem besonderen Ambiente verbringen möchte die perfekte Wahl. Die Liebe zum Detail und Essen, was unvergleichbar ist zu anderen Lokalen im Cloppenburger Gebiet. Der erstklassige Service der Kellner ist perfekt abgerundet zu der wunderbaren Atmosphäre vom hochklassigem Ambiente. Natürlich nichts für Zwischendurch. Aber sind wir mal ehrlich. Ist es sich nicht jeder wert sich selbst einen Abend zu gönnen, an dem man sich einfach nur zurücklehnen kann um den Abend zu geniessen?

Wir waren Pfingsten zum Frühstück dort. Sehr guter Service und angemessenes Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis

Das Essen war okay, aber bei den Preisen erwartet man mehr als Durchschnitt. Hatte das 3-Gänge-Menü und bin nicht satt geworden. Der Service meinte daraufhin, das könne schon sein - das Menü wäre eher zum Probieren. Finde ich ziemlich unverschämt für 39 €. Der Service hat uns dann gemieden und nur notgedrungen bedient. Selbst bei der Rechnung wurde nicht gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung war.

Wir waren zusammen mit unseren Freunden dort und das Essen war in Ordnung, aber auch nicht mehr als das. Es entsprach nicht ganz den Versprechungen. Ob argentinisches Fleisch wirklich so außergewöhnlich ist, konnte ich nicht auf meinem Teller erkennen. Der Service hat noch viel zu lernen, denn hier wird aus wenig zu wenig gemacht. Leider mussten wir feststellen, dass die niedrigen Bewertungen der Wahrheit entsprechen. Vor Kurzem waren wir in Friesoythe in einem Restaurant, wo die Qualität genau das war, was wir uns hier gewünscht hätten. Dort ist es sogar günstiger und sie beziehen alles direkt aus der Region. Es scheint also möglich zu sein.

Ein seelenloser Laden. Mehr Schein als sein, reine Marketing-Fassade. Kühle Atmosphäre in buntem Gewand. Zwar war an dem Essen geschmacklich nichts auszusetzen, jedoch merkt man dem Etablissement an, dass es hier kein Herz oder gar Leidenschaft gibt - es dient einzig und allein dem Profit. Was sich auch in den Preisen bemerkbar macht. Für Geschäftsessen geeignet. Edit: Lesen Sie doch die Bewertung richtig. Sie brauchen mich hier nicht als naiv hinstellen. Mir ist durchaus bewusst, dass Profit die Grundlage für erfolgreiche Gastronomie ist. Jedoch sollte es nicht die einzige Motivation sein.

Gestern sind wir zu viert ohne Voranmeldung sehr freundlich und herzlich empfangen worden. Wir waren überrascht und sehr angetan von dem extravaganten und gemütlichen Stil der Einrichtung. Sehr gutes Essen ,sehr guter Wein, einfach ein wirklich gelungener Abend. Danke!

Leider war unsere Erfahrung durchwachsen. Man durchschaut schnell, dass hier jemand sich zu weit aus dem Fenster lehnt. Die Küche ist eher mittlelmäßig, der Service muss noch viel lernen, aber Ambiente und Marketing sind gut. Die Preise sind durch nichts zu rechtfertigen. Wir waren gleich zwei Mal da. Das erste und letzte Mal. Ursprünglich hatte ich drei Sterne gegeben, aber nachdem ich hier die patzigen und frechen Antworten des Betreibers auf schlechte Bewertungen gelesen habe, sind nur noch zwei Sterne drin.

Wir waren Brunchen. Auswahl war super gewesen.

Wir haben uns bewusst etwas Zeit gelassen, dieses Restaurant zu bewerten um unsere Eindrücke etwas "sacken" zu lassen. Vorab: wir reservierten unseren Tisch zum 13.05.23 online. Es gab ein Feld "Kommentarfunktion"... in dieses gaben wir ein, dass wir unseren Hochzeitstag in diesem Restaurant verbringen wollen. Sehr schade fanden wir es, dass wir dann bei der Ankunft an einen x-beliebigen Tisch geführt wurden, so hatten wir doch zumindest eine kleine Blume oder dergl. am Tisch erwartet... wozu sonst eine Kommentarfunktion?! ...egal....wir bestellten vorab die in der Karte angebotenen Starter (so Art Brot mit Dip)... waren leider nicht verfügbar! Wo gibt es denn so etwas....?? Ist eigentlich in anderen Restaurants Standard, hier ist es auf der Karte, aber nicht verfügbar... So bestellten wir dann erst einmal jeweils einen Cocktail, die beide wunderbar schmeckten! Im Anschluss entschied ich mich dann für das Wochenmenü: Die Bärlauchsuppe war köstlich, das Entrecote (kaum 1cm dick) kaum genießbar (fettdurchzogen, ver"kocht", null Röstaromen!), das Tiramisu als Dessert in Ordnung - hätte ich aber zu Hause genauso, oder eher besser hinbekommen. Mein Mann bestellte den Schwertfisch mit Lemongrasrisotto, weißem und grünem Spargel und Fingermöhren. Der Fisch war in Ordnung, das Risotto definitiv kein Risotto sondern Reis in einer zitrusartigen Soße, und es gab ein Stück sowohl weißen als auch grünen Spargel von max 4 cm Länge (nicht mal je eine Spargelstange!!) und 2!! Fingermöhren. Wir waren doch sehr irritiert! Im Anschluss bestellte mein Mann einen Espresso, der lauwarm war und bitter schmeckte, und wir gemeinsam je einen Williams Birne, der wiederum hervorragend war. Fazit: Das Ambiente in diesem Restaurant ist außergewöhnlich und toll! Der Service Klasse! Aber.... das Essen stellt DEFINITIV! nicht das dar, was im Vorwege über Social Media u.a. angekündigt wurde! Die Preise sind für diese Kost absolut überzogen und in keiner Weise gerechtfertigt! Schade, aber wir werden dieses Restaurant definitiv kein 2. Mal besuchen!

Wir waren vor einer Woche dort. Ein echt gelungenes Restaurant! Lecker essen und Nette Bedienungen. Gerne wieder!

Auf der Durchreise von Frankreich nach Kiel wollten wir noch ein Urlaubsabschluss-Essen genießen. Also, Google fragen und die nächste Ausfahrt ist unsere. VOLLTREFFER 😋. Vielen Dank an das Team für das leckere Essen. Wir haben schon gedacht wir sind wieder in Frankreich 😆. Nur das schreiende Kleinkind hat die tolle Atmosphäre gestört 🙉

Sehr lecker und optisch schön präsentiert. Schöne Portionsgrößen. Wir haben auch noch einen Cocktail probiert und uns auf die Empfehlung vom Barkeeper verlassen. Auch hier gibt es fünf Sterne. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder! Ich finde die Idee mit den Probiermenüs übrigens super!

Man sollte vorher schon mal was gegessen haben wenn man hier her kommt. Das Essen ist nichts Besonderes bei den Erwartungen die man hat, wenn man auf die Preise schaut. Große Teller und kleine Portionen hatten wir erwartet aber vor allem der Nachtisch ist die reinste Lachnummer. Insofern ein lustiger Abend. Musik viel zu laut und das Personal nicht eingearbeitet; aber freundlich. Verbesserungsfähig.

Alles im allem ein durchschnittliches Restaurant mit viel Luft nach oben. Das fängt bei Papierservietten an, geht über eine ernüchternde und geschmacksneutrale Vor- und Hauptspeise und schlecht temperierten Weisswein weiter und endet bei einem semiheissen Espresso mit eingepacktem Fertigkeks. Uns fehlte z.B. beim Fleisch die komplette Maillardreaktion und somit der Genuss der Röstaromen. Auch die Vorspeise erfüllte nicht die angekündigte "Geschmacksexplosion". Es wurden zwar div. Salz- und Pfeffertöpfchen auf den bereits völlig vollgestellten Minizweiertisch gestellt, aber das hat es leider nicht herausgerissen. Bei diesem Preissegment muss die Latte einfach sehr viel höher liegen! Das Essen rechtfertigt in keinster Weise die extrem hohen Preise.

Sehr empfehlenswert! Schönes Ambiente, aufmerksamer Service und leckeres Essen. Die Küche selbst würde ich saisonal-europäisch mit internationalen Einflüssen auf gehobenem Niveau beschreiben. Besonders in Erinnerung wird mir das Dessert bleiben. Die Zitronengrasmousse mit Sorbet und Sponge war WELTKLASSE! Preis/ Leistung empfinde ich in Hinblick auf Qualität und Quantität als angemessen. Wir kommen wieder.

Ganz tolles Essen und phantastischer Service

Es wurden viele Fehler gemacht, die in einem gehobenen Restaurant nicht passieren dürfen! Service: Bei der Weinbestellung fragten wir nach dem Weingut des Weines, aber die Antwort war: "Was ist ein Weingut?" Man sollte die Weingüter auch auf den Karten vermerken. Als wir zum Hauptgang einen neuen Wein bestellten, wurde er ohne zu fragen in dasselbe Glas eingeschenkt. Das Personal steht auch eher herum, anstatt andere Tische zu bedienen oder abzuräumen. Die Speisen wurden nicht von rechts eingedeckt, was ein kleiner, aber feiner Unterschied in einem gehobenen Restaurant ist. Es gibt dort auch Papierservietten und eingepackte Ferrero-Kekse. Küche: Eine Ramen, die ihren Namen nicht verdient. Es gab nur eine Handvoll Sprossen, ein paar Pilze und billige Nudeln, die kalt unter der Wärmebrücke angerichtet wurden (leider hatten wir einen guten Blick in die Küche), aufgegossen mit einer Wasser- und Sojabrühe, die lauwarm war. Auf dem Bild auf Instagram sah alles ein wenig appetitlicher aus. Das Steak hatte nicht die richtige Garstufe und die Speckbohnen waren kalt! Trotzdem haben wir es gegessen, weil die Küche genug zu tun hatte. Es standen viele Gerichte für viele Tische bereit, und auch unsere Nachbartische hatten alle das gleiche Problem. Es ist mir unbegreiflich, woher die Preise für das Essen kommen. Weder die Herkunft des Fleisches noch das Gemüse oder andere Produkte auf dem Teller zeigten eine besondere Qualität. Durch den Blick in die Küche konnte man einige Produkte erkennen, die im unteren Regal des Großmarkts stehen. (Sahne etc.) Leider muss das Personal die Last des wahnsinnig hochgestochenen Marketings ausbaden. Auf der Webseite steht: "Unter dem Einfluss größter Hitze erschaffen wir aus feinsten Zutaten verschiedenster Esskulturen nie dagewesenen Genuss. Einzigartige Aromen von Fleisch, Fisch ......". Selbst Sterne-Restaurants würden sich so etwas nicht auf die Fahne schreiben. Auch wenn man neu ist, sollte man entweder mit ein bisschen mehr Demut starten, dann würde man auch über einige Fehler hinwegsehen. So ist man nur eine Zielscheibe und das arme Personal bekommt es ab.
