Best restaurant I've been to in a long time. Incredibly good rump steak, perfect fried potatoes, delicious house schnapps, super friendly service and we got a seat even without a reservation. I can really only recommend it to everyone. 10/10 must visit

A lot of things change over time. When we looked at the menu, we suspected something bad. The prices have increased quite a bit over time. Costs and returns, I know the problems. The food was average, unfortunately the steak on the grill plate wasn't as requested. As noted by the staff, an evil look from the kitchen followed. The pepper sauce in the other dish robbed the steak of its flavor. The fried potatoes were perfect, a bit tight for 2 people compared to the pepper steak dish. Salad is no longer served beforehand... There were two of us there. We actually go there at least twice a year and have always enjoyed spending our time there. The service was ok, some of it was just new there and just took some time to find your way around. Unsure whether we will come back. For 65€ for 2 people including a drink... A lot of wood for some people.

Very friendly service that creates a casual, humorous atmosphere. Plus delicious, sumptuous dishes. Went there twice with a group. And will definitely come back next time we visit Flensburg. If possible, be sure to make a reservation and ask for one of the table niches directly at the counter.

We were surprised with an invitation to dinner on our wedding anniversary. The reservation and the meal were made over the phone from France and were carried out perfectly. Our table was lovingly decorated, the food was very good, the drinks were refreshing and the dessert was delicious... everything freshly prepared. The service staff were very friendly and attentive. We took advantage of a quick detour for a random visit on the way home from Sweden. The Hinkelstein is a rustic pub with a very long bar and booths arranged around it. Bars like this have actually been extinct since the early 80s. The team was super friendly, very authentic and extremely professional. I find this combination very rare. The menu includes classics from German pub culture and everyone will find something. Yes, of course there are better pizza, steak, pasta, salad in the corresponding establishments, but not everything on the same menu. And the food tastes good! Mega plus point: The 'children's box' with crayons and games. My three (7,9,13) passed the time with “four wins” and dominoes and mom and dad were able to drink their Flens in peace. 5 stars dear Hinkelstein!

We love this restaurant and yet we don't go there very often. There are usually parking spaces nearby. The service is always super friendly and quick. Price performance is very good and I recommend the potato with quark. Simply amazingly good! There is always something for the children to play with too. The toilets are very clean and sizable. Reservation recommended!

A really cozy place with a good atmosphere. The service is great and the staff are very nice. The food is really good and there is plenty on the plate. We got jaeger schnitzel, spaghetti cabonada, spaghetti bolognese and a large pizza as well as drinks for just over 1000dkk. Definitely come again.

Went there spontaneously, the table was free and everything was perfect. Super great, nice service person, courteous and attentive. The food was delicious and plentiful. Big praise to the kitchen staff. What we didn't manage to do was packed away for us. We'd love to come back.

I haven't been to the Hinkelstein for 30 years as I live in the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn. I wanted to show my girlfriend Flensburg and the Hinkelstein. The food was great and we enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately there are no disabled parking spaces at the house. This was a bit disappointing as it makes travel difficult for people with disabilities. Otherwise a highly recommended restaurant.

There is something for everyone here. Little things like the legendary baked potato with quark, garlic bread, soups, meat dishes, pasta, pizzas... and delicious desserts. Nice and humorous service, the room for celebrations is not that big, but cozy and lovingly decorated for our birthday party. The meal took a while, but it was also full and there were 10 of us with different dishes. Therefore understandable. We really liked it and would like to come back.

Good food, good hospitality and good atmosphere. The venue is "hidden", but absolutely worth taking a trip there on occasion. Often full, so it can be difficult to get a table. We were there on a Monday evening and there were only 2 tables available

This small, rustic restaurant is simply great. There is a counter aisle in the middle and small tables with benches are placed around it and there are also seats along the walls. Everything is framed with dark wood and dimly lit. That's exactly why it's really comfortable. There is an extra room for larger groups. We like the counter seats best. The staff is super friendly, the menu is manageable, but there is something for everyone. The food is always really tasty. The children can get pencils and paper while waiting. There are extra decorations and napkins for birthdays. When paying, the kids were allowed to choose something from a big snack bag.

Unfortunately, I made a bit of a mistake in my selection (spicy tomato sauce) wasn't for my palate - but the pork fillets were tender and tasty. Spaghetti Cabonara was absolutely delicious and turkey with pineapple = delicious. The dessert was a dream - mascapone with fresh 🍓

Absolutely amazing warm restaurant with the most hospitable and attentive team I have ever seen. We received absolutely amazing service in fluent English, she was willingly recommending dishes and fulfiling our special requests. The portions were huge and delicious and prices are reasonable. Like 35min walk away from city centre which makes it authentic and heartwarming place to go to. Absolutely recommended must-go place while in Flensburg!

We've known this restaurant for years, but haven't been there for a long time, the food was okay, nothing more and nothing less, the price is quite expensive and sometimes not justified. What one waitress did about paying by card was an absolute impudence and insulting to me. It was definitely my last visit to this restaurant. If you want to treat your customers that way, that's fine, but hopefully you won't get any new customers that way. It's a shame because it was always a good address.

We used to go there regularly at reasonable prices, but the fact that there has been a change is completely reflected. An appetizer that was almost twice as expensive and you also paid extra for the dip. The waitress, the boss's daughter, was very disrespectful to the guests. This was the last visit, even though this restaurant was once the No. 1 in Flensburg for us. Quality assurance smooth 6.

Super nice and attentive service. The food was mostly tasty with a manageable portion size. Price/performance is good. Unfortunately the restaurant and the tables are very small and therefore the seats and aisles are quite cramped. Therefore, a table reservation is advisable.

We had ordered for 5 people and had to squeeze into the bench. It was my birthday and during dinner we were told that we only had seats for 1 hour. Almost thrown out on time. For me on my birthday, I was disappointed and angry at the same time.

We ate at Hinkelstein today and I have to say, it was really great here. The service is great and the food is super delicious. We came here spontaneously and luckily got a table (make sure to reserve because it is very busy). We are very happy with the location. Highly recommended.

Great food, the oven potato (with mushrooms or other choices) is amazing! Atmosphere is great, place is quite dark and cozy, great beer. The ladies working here are very friendly! Wonderful experience! We’ve had very different experiences in Germany.

There were 6 of us there today. So four adults and two kids. The food was great for everyone and came to the table hot. The service was super nice and accommodating. Yes, you have to say the ambience has its own charm. The continuous counter and the tables right next to it are really great. So we'll definitely be back ☺️👍

A top (family) service where you can tell that the work is done with heart and love. Of course, that alone is not enough, so the professionalism of the entire service should also be highly praised. Friendliness and courtesy are present from the first minute. With a huge selection of freshly tapped beer, there is also delicious wine and plenty of non-alcoholic and warm drinks. The menu offers something for everyone and special requests are accommodated and fulfilled with ease. Through the kitchen door you can see that a great team is working in the kitchen too. No hectic pace or loud words indicate a strong team. The fact that the kitchen is scrubbed with a scrubber and broom at the end of the kitchen also shows that hygiene is also very important. Many dishes are also offered in large and small portions, so that children and seniors are well looked after. The food is not only very good, it is also very plentiful. When you eat it is offered that you can take the food you don't manage to take with you. The candles on the table, the nightcap at the end, or the fact that you can even charge your cell phone shows again that hospitality and attentiveness are very important in this great, perfectly run family business. I rarely write reviews, but I really enjoy writing this restaurant. It is quite small and therefore has a family touch. Super nice service and most importantly: the food is super delicious! I haven't been disappointed so far and I go there quite regularly and like to come back every time. The small Harry Potter niche is particularly cute. Here you can see the attention to detail. Would give more stars if possible!

This was my 2nd visit to the restaurant. This time too we were very satisfied overall. The food is delicious, the prices still remain normal. I find the atmosphere very cozy. But what makes it so charming is the staff. Everyone receives a friendly welcome here and you get the feeling that you have been here many times. Conclusion: Good food, great team, cozy dining room. If you just want to have a nice evening with home-style cooking, you can't go wrong here.

Oh my, what a find!!! Dark candle lit interior with beautiful exposed dark wood beams. Chilled and warm atmosphere. All food was great and maybe one of the best dinners I have had in all of my travels. Very accommodating even without having reservations. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, only ready-made food is reasonably well prepared, unfortunately the love that was once there is completely missing. I had two schnitzels, which were definitely frozen goods, and a small bowl of fries for €20 - I don't understand the pricing policy and unfortunately it completely puts me off. Not recommendable.

Ich bin seit meiner Jugend nicht mehr dort gewesen und war völlig begeistert. Das Interieur ist erhalten geblieben, „der Quark“ zur Ofenkartoffen schmeckt, wie „damals“ - die Servicemädels, sind freundlich, flott unterwegs und sehr aufmerksam. Jetzt bin ich bald wieder dort.

Bestes Restaurant in Flensburg. Hier esse ich schon seit 40 Jahren die besten Pizzen in Flensburg. Bin immer sehr satt und sehr zufrieden.

Seid Jahrzehnten immer wieder eine Anlaufstelle für super gute Küche. Einfach wohlfühlen wie zu Hause, wie Familie. Eine ganz tolle Gemeinschaft von tollen Servicekräften die mit Engagement und Freundlichkeit für einen da sind. Die Location hat sich seit ich in den 80 Jahren dort war kaum verändert. Einfach schön und gemütlich. Und wenn die Chefin noch an den Tisch kommt, was möchte man mehr. Das Essen war für mich genau richtig. Kleinigkeiten wie La Flute oder Camembert überbacken kann ich nur empfehlen. Immer wieder gerne kommen wir dahin zurück.

Waren mit unsere Tochter und ihrem Freund da. Prima Service sehr gutes Essen. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr passend zum Namen. Gut finde ich auch das ein Dessert der Woche angeboten wird, so hat man Abwechslung.

Es war ein toller Abend mit Freunden. Das Essen war super lecker, der Tisch war für 6 Personen etwas eng. Aber wir werden wieder kommen. Nettes Lokal , empfehlenswert.

Ich liebe das Hinkelstein seit Jahren. Das Essen ist super und die Preise angemessen. Der Service immer freundlich und die Chefin ein Schatz. Beim letzten Besuch gab es bei der Bestellung ein Missverständnis, so dass ein falsches Essen kam. Aber ohne Probleme wurde es schnellstens geändert. Ich bedanke mich und freue mich auf das nächste Mal.

Hyggeligt sted uden for de normale turistområder. Vi kom en mandag aften, og alligevel var vi heldige at vi fik et bord, fordi stedet var fyldt. Så det tyder på, at det er meget brugt af de lokale, og det er ofte et kvalitetsstempel. Hyggelig stemning, venlig betjening og lækker mad.

Was soll ich sagen, es war ein gelungener Abend durch und durch. Auf dem Weg nach Esbjerg habe ich in Flensburg Halt gemacht und im Hinkelstein nicht nur sehr leckeres Bier und tolles Essen gefunden sondern auch sehr nette Unterhaltungen mit den Menschen auf der anderen Seite vom Tresen. Da bei mir die Augen leider größer als der Bauch waren, musste ich einen großen Teil meiner Nudeln einpacken lassen - sehr zu meiner heutigen Freude da sie, obwohl kalt, noch immer sehr gut schmecken. Einzig für das flackernde Licht direkt über mir und die sehr geringe Auswahl an warmen vegetarischen Speisen muss ich leider je einen Stern abziehen. (Nudeln mit Öl und Knoblauch halte ich für eine sinnvolle und leckere, gleichzeitig einfache Ergänzung) Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und freue mich auf einen nächsten Besuch, so er sich einrichten lässt. Wenn ihr auf der Suche nach einer leckeren Mahlzeit oder einfach einen kühlen Bier seid, hier seid ihr genau richtig! Nur am besten vorher anrufen wenn ihr mehr als eine Person seid, der Hinkelstein ist sehr gut besucht. Und das schon durch die Woche. Also noch einmal ein herzliches danke an die tollen Menschen hinter dem Tresen, ich hoffe ihr seid bei meinem nächsten Besuch wieder da.
