Went for the first time today General Indian food. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back more often. I can only recommend a culinary, tasteful trip.

Very nice and very friendly staff. The food was very tasty and only gets one point deducted. There was relatively little meat in the sauce. The taste was very good and delicious. I had fruity sweet and my husband had medium hot. The meat was very tender and tasty. There are still points deducted for the toilets. We were the first and only guests and the toilet had not been cleaned from the day before.

I went to this restaurant by seeing Google reviews and it wasn't worth at all. I ordered fried Momo's Butter chicken And fried noodles Everything was just horrible the vegetables and chicken in the noodles was burned and too oily. Butter chicken was too much expensive and the quality was worse. If you are still reading this review and finding this rude. Let me tell you i had high expectations for the food and it just turned out to be horrible. It's all honest reviews nothing personal for the restaurant.

I recently visited Himalaya Sherpa with my two friends for dinner. The place offered an authentic experience, with respect to the food as well as the ambience. As the name suggests, it offered delicious Himalayan and Nepalese food options. We ordered veg & non veg dumplings for starters, followed by thukpa and butter chicken curry for main course along with tasty mango lassi. I would rate the food 10/10, as, after speaking with the owner i found out that all the preparation is done with home made ingredients and methods. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

This place seems massively underrated to me. It's very similar to Indian food, but a bit less adapted to Western tastes than a typical Indian restaurant. I had a traditional Nepalese combo with black lentils, chicken curry, carrot pickle, and a sweet carrot desert, served with rice and papadam. The food was simple and flavorful. Everything came in its own bowl to be placed on the plate. They brought me chili sauce so that I could choose my own level of spiciness. At first glance the amounts looked small, but I felt surprisingly full at the end. The dining area was virtually empty (Thursday evening). The prices feel a bit too high though.

Great food! We ordered to be picked up several times and also ate there. The portions are just right to fill you up comfortably. The food is incredibly authentic, you won't find spices like this anywhere else.

I also had a VALID Groupon voucher and was told quite harshly by the alleged owner on December 23rd, 2023 that it could no longer be redeemed. I was also no longer able to make a reservation via Groupon for the entire validity period. However, this behavior is not legal because the voucher was purchased properly and its deadline was far from exceeded at the time of the call. There are probably simply capitalistic reasons behind this because the owner believes that he will lose profit by using the voucher and is therefore not prepared to accept his offer of a 4-course meal via Groupon. However, you should first think about whether you want to join Groupon from a business perspective and not back out in the middle. Because this is the customer's preference. not fair. I have already complained about this to Groupon. Anyone who acts with such dishonesty should consider whether customer service, which a restaurateur should put first in his business, is the right career for him. This unfair treatment by the restaurant of a concluded and therefore valid contract in the form of a voucher is unacceptable.

Went with great expectations after reading the reviews.Momos were very good but other items were not as expected..Also they do not accept card for the payment and only cash or PayPal is accepted..Also limited parking spaces available near the restaurant.

Excellent food. We were here spontaneously. We like to try something new, we didn't know Nepalese yet. I am always happy to receive “tasting plates” with different dishes. We weren't disappointed, on the contrary. The friendly and very accommodating manager of the house radiates warmth. Even if the outside of the house could perhaps use a little color, the food is very, very tasty and nourishes not only the body, but also the heart and soul. But be careful: Nepalese “spicy” is like Indian “spicy” and for us Western European palates, “a little bit spicy” is enough… Namaste. We will be back.

Hervorragend gegessen. Wir waren spontan hier. Wir probieren gerne mal was neues aus, nepalesisch kannten wir noch nicht. Ich freue mich immer über „probierteller“ mit unterschiedlichen Speisen. Wir sind nicht enttäuscht worden, im Gegenteil. Die freundliche und sehr zuvorkommende Chefin des Hauses verstrahlt Herzenswärme . Auch, wenn das Haus äußerlich vielleicht etwas Farbe vertragen könnte- das Essen ist sehr sehr lecker und nährt nicht nur den Körper, auch das Herz und die Seele. I have a lovely experience with authentic north Indian food in Mainz. The food is delicious and everything is good. The owner has very nice and kind gesture, just inform him about your taste and he takes care of it.

Muss mich leider den Bewertungen vieler anderer Gäste anschließen. Es war im Gastraum so kalt, dass wir mit Mantel und Jacke essen mussten - sehr ungemütlich. Die Qualität des Essens lässt zu wünschen übrig, von frischem Gemüse war nichts zu finden. Die Sauberkeit lässt stark zu wünschen übrig. Werde definitiv nie wieder in dieses "Restaurant" gehen.

Das leckere Essen sowie die super herzliche und zuvorkommenden Kellner sind jeden Besuch im Himalaya Sherpa wert!

Also ich hab jetzt so ziemlich die meisten schlechten Bewertungen gelesen und muss sagen, dass unsere Erfahrung vollkommen anders sind. Die Leute sind sehr nett, das Restaurant ist schön eingerichtet und es erinnert einen auch wirklich an Nepal (war schon mal dort) und das Essen auf jeden Fall auch. Finde alles sehr authentisch. Essen ist schnell fertig und wir haben noch keine kleine Portion serviert bekommen. Es wird gefragt, ob man noch Chilis haben möchte und ganz allgemein ist alles entspannt. Das Essen ist authentisch nepalesisch (wir hatten Vor-und Hauptspeise, pro Person dann so 20-30 Euro inklusive Getränke) und wirklich gut und ich versteh ehrlich nicht, warum nicht mehr Leute das Restaurant besuchen.

Wir hatten einen gültigen Groupon Gutschein und wollten für einen Dienstag reservieren. Das Restaurant sagte dann, dass es nicht geht mit Groupon nur ohne. Sorry aber das geht garnicht. Bei groupon standen auch keinerlei Bedingungen bzgl Wochentagen. Schade aber so funktioniert Werbung nicht. Nachtrag: soeben wurde ich vom Besitzer angeschrieben, mit der Bitte diese Rezension zu löschen, er möchte rechtliche Schritte einleiten... das spricht Bände. Komisch meinen Gutschein wollte er nicht einlösen, obwohl dieser schon bezahlt war und noch gültig und auf meine Mails hatte er nicht mehr geantwortet...

Great food and very nice owner. The Momos and Chicken lollipops were exceptional, and I loved the spice level. Very good biryani too, all freshly prepared.

Leider haben wir nach dem Essen immernoch hunger gehabt. Keine freie Platzwahl . Die größeren Tische am Fenster werden freigehalten. Geschmacklich mittelkalssig gerade noch so in Ordnung. Personal sehr neutral. Würden dort nicht mehr essen gehen.

Wir sind neu zugezogen nach Mainz-Kastel und warten auf unsere Küche. Gestern haben wir dieses Restaurant ausprobiert: sehr lecker und authentisch gewürzte Gerichte. Der Service war prima, es war ein entspannter, genussvoller Abend.

Nachdem ich einige Zeit in Indien gearbeitet habe, war ich auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant, das auch wirklich wie in Indien schmeckt. Ich glaube, näher kommt man in Deutschland nicht an den echten indischen Geschmack heran!

One the best food I've had in Germany! Super homely, fresh and tasty!!! I'm so in aw with this restaurant and the very kind chef/owner Mr. Suraj Sonar for the amazing service and food. The super soft rotis, curries, kheema chicken especially was out of the world! Gulab Jamoon was fresh made and was mind blowing... Reminded us the taste of India. Guys out there in Mainz and Wiesbaden this place is a must try and I'm 100% sure you won't be disappointed.

This is one of our favourite restaurants . Can confidently say this restaurant beats most of the other restaurants in Germany! Momo, rotis(must try, freshly made, super soft), Saag panner, Channa Aloo, Kheema chicken… It surely will blow your mind. This is our go to place and I highly recommend people to give your taste buds a treat!

Taste is good. Must try if you are a momos lover. Occasionally they also offer snacks like Misal Pav, Panipuri, vadapav.

Wir haben heute zwei Vorspeisen und den Nepalesischen Spezialteller gegessen und haben das Essen sehr genossen. Die Speisen waren frisch und liebevoll zubereitet. Der frische Pfefferminze mit Ingwer war sehr erfrischend und auch der Mangolassi war außergewöhnlich lecker. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wenn wir wieder in der Nähe sind kommen wir definitiv wieder!

Hervorragendes Essen bei sehr freundlicher Bedienung - sehr zu empfehlen! Wir waren gestern das erste mal zu Besuch und werden bestimmt wiederkommen. Wir hatten als Vorspeise Roti (leckeres Brot) mit einer Pfefferminzsauce und als Hauptspeise einmal Saagra Paneer (vegetarisch) und Dahi Khasi (Lammfleisch) welches alles vorzüglich geschmeckt hat. Wer auf der Suche nach authentischen indisch / nepalesischen Essen ist wird hier definitiv fündig werden!

We saw the good reviews and were looking forward to eating tasty food but were unfortunately disappointed. Shortcuts such as audible microwaves in the kitchen and store-bought frozen veggie mixes can still result in tasty food, but this was not the case here. I ordered the Thukpa noodle soup and it was just really not good (I regretted choosing it). My friend had a biryani which I liked much more, especially in contrast to my soup, but it was also lacking compared to food from other good indian restaurants. I liked the Momo's, although they looked like store bought Korean fried dumplings to me. When we arrived for dinner, the lights were off and it seemed closed despite being open. No other guests came while we were there and it felt weird being there. The owner seemed nice, but I think the restaurant has seen better times. Sadly can't recommend this place.

Sehr gutes indisches / nepalesisches Essen. Das Ambiente ist ausgeschmückt mit verschiedenen wundervollen kulturellen Dekorationen. Zudem war der Service sehr gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und ist sehr höflich auf Extrawünsche eingegangen.

I love their steamed chicken momos. Delicious to me :) I would recommend one to definitely try those! I always come here for their momos 🤭 Concerning their restaurant’s ambience, it is quite reminiscent of our stereotypical Indian households’ temple or worshipping arenas 🤩 Really soothing and relaxing to me! Moreover, the hosts are quite forthcoming and welcoming to visitors. Definitely a must try!

Himalayan Sherpa is the best indian restaurant I came across in Mainze. The host Mr suraj who comes from India has very long experience in cooking and hosting his customers. The taste, the ambiance , the hospitality is awesome. It's home away from home . I recommend that everyone who loves Indian food must visit it.

Es war sehr schön. Alles wurde frisch zubereitet und sofort heiß serviert. Die Gerichte waren sehr gut und originell gewürzt

Auch wenn der gastrointestinal etwas in Vintage ist … die Qualität des Essens ist top, der Wirt freundlich und zuvor kommend - unbedingt das Mangolassi versuche.

Aus fadenscheinigem Grund (Osterferien) wurde unsere Gutschein-Reservierung für den selben Tag gecancelt. Ich habe dann einfach nochmal dort angerufen, und es gibt natürlich noch freie Tische. Nur nicht mit Gutschein. Besser Finger weglassen.

Als wir ankamen wurde unsere Reservierung zum Menü nicht akzeptiert. Der Chef war sehr unfreundlich. Wir sind direkt gegangen und kommen bestimmt nicht wieder.

Das Essen hat mega gut geschmeckt.Ich war in viele andere Nepalesische Restaurants, aber ich fand dieses Restaurant ist die beste. Die Gastbedienung und Sauberkeit sind sehr gut. Ich würde euch empfehlen.

Leider sind wir bereits zum zweiten Mal mit dem Essen gar nicht zufrieden: die Qualität des Lammfleischs war gar nicht gut (knorpelig und so grob gehackt, dass man ständig scharfe Knochenteile im Mund fand und spucken musste) und das Curry Huhn war nicht gut gewürzt und hätte auch etwas Gemüse vertragen können. Allerdings hatte man trotzdem nach dem Essen noch den ganzen Abend was davon.... Wir werden das Himalaya Sherpa aus unserem Restaurant Repertoire erstmal streichen.

Everything was delicious! Very large menu with many meat, vegetarian and vegan options and especially the regional dishes from Nepal were fantastic. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but you won’t regret it!

It's absolutely worth the walk from Mainz City Centre, across the Rhine Bridge to the other side. The vegetarian Momos and the Daal Bhaat Tarkari were hugely tasty change from the meaty German dishes. Staff was very nice and serviceable.
