Very very tasty food! If the restaurant was decorated a little nicer, it would definitely be 5 stars!

We order here every now and then, the food comes quickly and is always delicious! The portions are also large and the value for money is great.

The Indian food was super tasty and very plentiful. Bread and rice are automatically included. We had chicken and paneer. The cheese is homemade and is very good. Not with such a strange consistency that you might have eaten somewhere else. The price-performance ratio is more than fair and the service is also very friendly. As is well known, the ambience is debatable. It's modern and clean with a few Indian deco pieces. Unfortunately there is no terrace. But we will definitely come back again.

Last night my husband and I had Indian food for the first time at the Himalayan restaurant in Mayen. The restaurant looks fairly newly renovated and clean. The waitresses are all quite friendly and often came to our table to ask if everything was OK. We didn't have to wait long for the food, even though we saw that there was a lot going on in the kitchen. A lot of food went out. You feel very comfortable here because everything is very family-like. Everyone helps everyone... And the food was fantastic. As a starter we had dumplings filled with vegetables and served with 3 different sauces. 1 hot, one normal hot and one mint sauce. I tried them all and found them to be good. The main course, which was served in a round bowl on a warmer with rice and a very tasty garlic bread (my husband had the bread without garlic) you could choose from, was also super tasty. The portions are more than sufficient. I would say the price performance is right. Conclusion: We weren't here for the last time! The price

Today we spontaneously had the idea of ​​having dinner in a park and ordered something in the Himalayas. The tip came from a friend. We were greeted very friendly and said we wanted to order something to take away. He promptly gave us the cards and we chose something. The choice was difficult for us at first, but we found something that suited us. After ordering, the three dishes were ready within 15 minutes. We were given a lot of rice with the dishes and also bread. The portions were decent. I found the food really tasty. I would definitely order an Indian dish again. Big plus point: you can pay by card! Keep it up!

We were on the way to Netherlands from Germany and found this restaurant on Sunday. Everythung was closing so we took the take out option. The owner helped a lot in ordering the food, giving the cutlery for the road. Very helpful. Food was very delicious. I never had paneer Hyderabadi outside of India this good 😋. Totally recommended.

Best restaurant in town. By far the tastiest meal. I order every week. Little suggestion... You need a small side salad that you can order with any meal. Like the side salad with the schnitzel... Between 3-5€. Would be perfect. This means you can earn additional money.

Wir haben heute bei Himalaya eine Pizza und eine Calzone bestellt und wollten liefern lassen. Wir haben 90 Minuten warten müssen und das Essen war kalt als es bei uns ankam. Das letzte Mal haben wir hier vor über einem Jahr bestellt und alles war in Ordnung. Hoffentlich ist nächstes Mal wieder Besserung in Sicht.

Von außen ist das Restaurant sehr zurückhaltend und leicht zu übersehen. Wenn man reinkommt, dann riecht es schon mal ganz gut. Die Bedienung und Atmosphäre ist freundlich und das gewünschte Essen kommt schnell. Meine Mutter und ich hatten jeweils ein vegetarisches Reisgericht mit Gemüse. Das Essen war schön angerichtet, riecht gut gewürzt und schmeckt auch gut. Der einzige Kritikpunkt wäre eventuell, dass das Gemüse TK-Gemüse.

Sehr leckeres indisches/asiatisches Essen, das heiß serviert wird. Das Himalaya ist auf Lieferservice ausgerichtet. Es gibt auch einen eingerichtetn Restaurant-/ Gastronomiebereich, wo man gemütlich sitzen und essen kann. Sehr freundliches Personal, das uns bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mal bedient hat. Unsere Premiere hat uns gefallen.

Wir lieben euer Essen und haben auch wirklich immer gerne (und regelmäsig) bei euch bestellt. Und ich denke, jeder kann eine Preiserhöhung in der heutigen Zeit nachvollziehen. Aber drei Schrauben gleichzeitig enger drehenden ist schon ne Hausnummer.... 1. Die Gerichte ca 1 Euro teurer 2. Anfahrtskosten die es vorher nicht gab 3. Keine Soßen mehr bzw nur noch mit Aufpreis. Mehr zahlen und gleichzeitig weniger bekommen hinterlässt bei den Kunden (wirklich) einen fahlen Beigeschmack.

Its a halal indian restaurant! Unfortunately I did not see they mentioned anywhere but my husband did called the restaurant first and asked. I’m from Malaysia and this is legit very authentic and so delicious! They even have option normal, scharf and sehr scharf, I chose sehr scharf because i thought it will not be so spicy as mostly in Germany they tried to cater for Germans who did not eat spicy. But surprisingly its so spicy and i am super satisfied!!! Definitely will come again. Oh ya the portions huge, we ordered 1 beef okra and 1 kirberbscheen curry. Both comes with rice and bread. We ate this for lunch and dinner because the portion and the price is so affordable!!!

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen trotz der weit entfernten Küche. Es lohnt sich durch die Karte zu probieren da jedes Gericht sein eigenen Geschmack hat.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, auch die Kinder waren sehr zufrieden. Der Laden ist klein aber hübsch, die Bedienung sehr nett und aufmerksam. Alles, was wir bestellt haben, wurde frisch zubereitet. Zum Mittagsmenü gehört auch Reis und Brot: hiervon empfehlen wir das normale und das Knoblauch-Fladenbrot. Wir haben das Restaurant schon weiterempfohlen und werden wiederkommen, wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind.

Essen ist der Wahnsinn, die Soße, das Brot und Fleisch einfach perfekt. Dazu unbedingt den Mango Lassi probieren, ist ein echtes Highlight.

Wir essen gerne und häufig indisch und das Essen heute gehört definitiv zu dem besten, was wir bisher hatten. Kommen sehr gerne wieder, wenn wir nochmal in Mayen sind. Auch die Bedienung war sehr nett und aufmerksam.

Wer wert auf schlechtes Essen legt, ist hier richtig. Wir waren etwas bequem und wollten nicht kochen, entschieden uns dann beim Himalaya was zu bestellen. Ich entschied mich für Puten Curry mit Gemüse und mein Freund für Hähnchen nach Indischerart. In meinem Curry war überhaupt kein Curry drin. Das Gemüse war nicht frisch und die Pute war so alt, abgestanden und Zäh, das es beim schlucken weh tat. Vielen Dank für nix, das Geld tut uns leid. Echt ekelhaft !!!!!!!!

Ich war auf indisch eingestellt, aber bemerkte gleich den Einfluss der pakistanischen Küche. Freundlicher, offener Service, offensichtlich der Hausherr, der gerne bediente und ein paar Worte wechselte. Sauberes Ambiente. Fleisch- und vegetarisches Gericht sahen so gut wie gleich aus, waren aber im Geschmack und in der Schärfe (exakt wie bestellt) unterschiedlich. Mein Gericht mit 24 Gewürzen war einfach lecker. Papadam/Papad (Linsenfladen) waren zu lange gebraten. Paneer war etwas gummiartig und erinnerte an Tofu. Es blieb trotzdem nichts übrig. Portionen waren gut. Preise moderat. Die muslimische Familie führt KEINEN ALKOHOL und man wird mit einem Allah-Begrüßungsschild empfangen.

Tonight we went for dinner to Himalaya while on holiday in Gunderath with my family (we’re from Holland). We chose four different dishes and we really enjoyed each of them very much. The food was very tasteful and the owner very welcoming and kind. When we couldn’t finish the last bit of food, he even offered us to pack it to take home. The price is also very good for such high quality food. We would totally recommend this restaurant!!!

Waren am WE da und haben zu 5 unterschiedliche Gerichte Bestellt. Ich hatte mir was gegrilltes Hähnchen bestellt und meine Begleitungen was anderes aber ebenfalls Hähnchen. Es schmeckte alles gleich. Mein Hähnchen war nicht gegrillt, es wurde überall das gleiche Fertighähnchenprodukt verwendet. Zudem war das Fleisch nicht mehr ganz frisch, es wurde (wahrscheinlich) vorgekocht/gegart und bei jeder Bestellung aufgewärmt. Ich hatte Glück, denn meine Soße war stark scharf gewürzt (auf meinem Wunsch bei der Bestellung) bei den anderen war dieses nicht schmeckende altes Hähnchenaroma. Die Krönung war noch ein langes schwarzes Haar im Essen. PS: Ich verstehe die vielen guten Bewertungen nicht ganz.

Wir waren gestern wie so oft beim Himalaya essen! Wir wurden von dem Essen von Ali noch nie enttäuscht! Egal ob früher in Mendig oder jetzt hier in Mayen! Das neue Lokal in Mayen ist nicht mehr so typisch indisch wie das in Mendig, dafür aber wesentlich moderner! Wir werden immer sehr freundlich bedient und kommen 1-2 mal im Monat vorbei! Schade ist nur, dass der Alkohol aus dem Sortiment genommen wurden und man daher kein indisches Bier mehr zum Essen bestellen kann! Aber dennoch können wir das Himalaya uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen:-)

Da wir sehr gerne und häufig indisch essen, waren die Speisen für uns eher mittelmäßig. Lag vielleicht an der Qualität des Geflügelfleisches. Lamm war deutlich besser. Die Atmosphäre war durch das non-stop am Laptop spielende Kind der Besitzer (laute Spielgeräusche mit Cumputermusik) etwas getrübt. Habe sonst nichts gegen laute Kinder! Das Fladenbrot war auf Hefebasis - klassisches Naan schmeckt mir besser.

Uns wurde von mehreren Seiten dieses indische Restaurant empfohlen und können nur sagen: TOP! Das Essen war sehr sehr gut. Wir hatten zwei Vorspeisen und danach ein Lamm und Hühnchengericht - das Brot, der Reis, die Soßen - alles sehr gut. Das Ambiente ist schräg - eine alte Dorfkneipe kontinental nach Indien verschoben. Das Restaurant zieht im Okotober2017 nach Mayen um - in die Neustraße. Wir freuen uns auf weitere Reisen ins "Himalaya"

De curry's zijn heerlijk en echt Indiaas. De bediening is vriendelijk. We zijn hier twee keer geweest omdat het heerlijk smaakt voor een lage prijs. Als we weer eens in de buurt zijn zullen we zeker weer langs gaan!

I was with my engaged woman in this restaurant to try out something new again and we were surprised about how nice this people are and friendly. The food was very good, but there was just one particularly tiny thing: the waitress was struggling to understand what we really want to order. But finally we managed it, it is not the end of the world. Nice restaurant

As an Indian, I cannot praise the friendly service my wife and I experienced, as well as the tasty authentic food of the Indian sub-continent which we were served at the Himalaya Restaurant, enough! We have moved to the Eifel area of Rhineland Palatinate and are certainly very fortunate to be able to experience a "taste of home" not far from where we live! It is certainly true that the premises of the restaurant are somewhat dated and do little to hide the fact that this was at one time an Italian restaurant. However, I would rather pay for good authentic Indian and Pakistani food than for "imitation rubbish" served in beautiful surroundings. Although the paneer pakoras of our visit in January could have been a little more crisp, the samosas more than made up for that and will certainly not prevent me from treating my wife (and myself) to a Valentine's Day dinner at the Himalaya restaurant in Mendig tonight!!!

i love, love, love this place! the service is always quick, friendly, and attentive. the food is consistantly excellent! i recommend the paneer korma, it's to die for! fresh bread and rice, and they'll bring more if you need it. when you're finished, they bring you homemade mango liquor. i always get lost on my way there, it's off the beaten path. but definitely worth finding!
