Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The Dibbelabbes (a type of potato pancake) had a poor consistency and was under-seasoned; the same goes for the Wiener Schnitzel, which was bland and rather watery. The service was very friendly and attentive. Overall, it's clear that the restaurant performed significantly better in its early days.

With some experience in Saarland cuisine, I thought I knew what to expect – but this meal was a completely new experience. Unfortunately, not a good one. The Dippelappes appeared to be made of pure dumpling dough – presumably an homage to industrial potato processing. The Mehlknöpp (flour dumplings) were in no way inferior: solidly flavored, right in the "nothing" range. The sauerkraut was unseasoned – probably to emphasize the natural pungency of nothing. Only the Gefillde (spicy sausages), the Leberknödel (liver dumplings), and the Lyoner (sausages) were edible. Although the latter probably praise the butcher more than the kitchen. Conclusion: If you love Saarland cuisine, you'd better not be tempted here – otherwise, "The main thing is that it's good food" quickly becomes "The main thing is that it's over."

I was so full from the Saarland Bowl. It was super delicious and plentiful! It was amazing. The other dishes and drinks I ordered were just as delicious and plentiful. The staff were very accommodating.

Good Saarland food, prices OK. Quite cramped and poor acoustics. Reservations are only valid for a short time. You have to vacate the table by a set time. But it's enough to eat, and the service is prompt. Service is moderately OK, but you have to wait a long time for a drink once your glass is empty.

Unfortunately, our experience wasn't so good. We found the food mediocre to poor. The potato soup was awful and bore no resemblance to Saarland potato soup; it resembled a mush of crème fraîche topped with packet croutons. It was so stiff that the spoon barely held up in it. The beef salad tasted okay, but looked more like a soup; the meat was practically swimming in it. The fillings were okay; they probably taste better at any Saarlander's home. The bacon cream sauce resembled potato soup—very rich and flavorless. The best part was the Dibbelabbes (a kind of potato dish), which tasted good but had little of the Saarland flavor of Dibbelabbes. It was a potato mixture that had probably been deep-fried and then served in a much too small bowl and placed on top of the applesauce, so that every time it was cut, bits of the applesauce spilled onto the table. The Obatzter was good, but far too expensive for the price. Only one of the three employees was friendly. The others had difficulty or were unable to smile. Positive points: The portions were all large and plentiful. The service was very quick. The ambiance was good. Conclusion: The experience was such that we probably won't try it again. What a shame.

Unfortunately, our overall experience was rather disappointing. The tapas were only mediocre, the potato soup was more like thick porridge, and the gravy was barely edible...it tasted as if the dairy products used weren't quite fresh. The cordon bleu was very firm and chewy, and barely filled with any cheese. The sausage salad was noticeably overly acidic. While the tapas arrived very quickly, some of the dishes clearly showed that they had been kept warm for a while. While taste is subjective, we had hoped for more, and the table needed a lot of Maggi. The ambiance itself has potential; it feels like a quaint inn. Unfortunately, the numerous thick cobwebs on the ceilings and walls significantly diminished the overall impression. The service on this day was also not very inviting; a bit more friendliness would have been appreciated, and bringing the food to the table with a full mouth seems unprofessional.

Unique. Here, tradition meets modern cuisine and drinks. Perfect for all ages. The food is fast and very good. Service is friendly and courteous. We'll definitely be back. It's worth the 79 kilometers!

We spontaneously ate there today. We sat in the beer garden. The veggie cordon bleu was truly delicious. The cordon bleu consisted of celery instead of the usual meat substitute. Something completely different. Super delicious. We'll be back.

We ate there last night. It was delicious. Large portions. If you want typical Saarland food, this is the place to go. But they also offer many other dishes. Service was friendly and quick. No long wait. We'd be happy to come back next time.

During my spontaneous visit, they were able to offer me a table for a limited time. The two Saarland tapas (Mini-Gefillder & Dibbelabbes) were truly delicious and more than enough to fill you up. The service was also super friendly and attentive. The ambiance was rustic yet pleasant, and they also served good beer. If I'm in Saarbrücken again, I'll definitely go for dinner.

We had a wonderful evening, and the Saarland tapas were sensational. The service was very attentive. The value for money was justifiable.

Very tasty (and plentiful) regional cuisine. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available. Apparently, it's a very popular spot: either arrive early or make a reservation. I had the bowl – it's very hearty and delicious, but also quite filling! I had the Bruch-Landbier beer with it: dark, not quite as alcoholic as a dark beer, but very suitable for the regional dishes!

The tapas were a great idea and were excellent. The service is top-notch and totally kid-friendly. Highly recommended for older guests too 😜

I think the ambiance is okay, although the view into the kitchen and behind the counter at the entrance isn't all that inviting! The food was plentiful, the taste mediocre, and the beef salad was the worst! It was more like a soup, the taste was like vinegary broth, and the color, I don't know, was just disgusting! The Dibbelabbes really wasn't good, the Klos was okay! All in all, I can only say, home-cooked food tastes better at home! I found the notice that we should leave right away really rude! You can only reserve a table for two hours, that was clear! Then the waiter comes half an hour before the time is up and announces with a smile, "Do you want to pay then?" We said, "Oh, because of the two hours!" Exactly, I already have the cash register with me! One time and never again, totally commercial, a really bad experience ;(((

Stay away - simply terrible! The supposedly Saarland-style home cooking is a disgrace! The dough for the "Geheirade," "Gefillde," or "Dibbelabbes" we ordered was a complete mess! The sauerkraut was simply inedible because it was completely oversalted, and the supposed beef salad was a beef soup that was so sour it was inedible! All in all, an absolute disaster for almost €90 (!). At the end of our stay, the waitress more or less "walked us out," as you're only allowed to occupy a table for two hours! (See reservation conditions!) Unfortunately, I have to give it one star so that the WARNING TO EVERYONE can even appear.

Top food in a beautiful ambience.

We tried this restaurant yesterday, which mainly serves Saarland dishes and a few schnitzel variations, and overall, we really enjoyed it. We tried six of the Saarland tapas, and each variation was truly delicious with a distinctive flavor, although unfortunately a bit under-seasoned, so we had to add a bit more seasoning in some places. The amount is enough for three tapas alone, although each tapa portion can easily be shared between two people. The tapas we ordered were served very quickly, within just a few minutes, by the friendly waitresses. In addition to the pleasant dining room, when the weather is nice, you can also sit outside in the building's back courtyard, which is also traversed by residents of the neighboring buildings. Anyone who wants to try and enjoy excellent Saarland cuisine should definitely visit this restaurant. We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, that was a terrible performance! The waitress was completely out of it, giving the impression of being heavily intoxicated. It was even unpleasant for the guests. The food was also significantly below average, inedible in taste... Appetizers were forgotten, the wrong drinks were brought—simply a complete disaster! Horrible...

We've been to Hilde and Heintz several times now. The first time, I was absolutely blown away by the steak and fries; it was truly one of the best steaks I've ever eaten in the area. Unfortunately, the other times we've been there have been very disappointing. Neither the other dishes nor my return to the steak restaurant convinced me. Quite the opposite: my girlfriend and I had our steaks cooked all the way through, even though we ordered them medium. The staff are friendly and make an effort. However, despite our first experience at Hilde and Heintz, I won't be coming here again, as we've been disappointed again and again since.

As non-Saarlanders, we were very happy about this tip and were able to sample the (delicious) Saarland specialties with smaller (tapas-style) portions from the very friendly and very quick staff. We ate more than enough (the rest was given to us to take with us). They were very attentive, but not intrusive, to ask whenever it seemed as if we needed anything else. With the nice weather, it was a great end to our short trip, which we were able to enjoy in the courtyard. Thank you so much 😊👋

Nice restaurant at the end of the pedestrian zone. With schnitzel, dumplings, and more. Unfortunately, everything on the lovely terrace was reserved, so we had to stay inside. The food was a bit too hearty for me personally... lots of bacon. But okay.

Service was great. Very friendly and accommodating. We had a garden salad, Dippelappes (a kind of mushroom), a mushroom filling, and the herb chanterelle mushrooms. The salad was very tasty and fresh. Unfortunately, there was no bread with it. Dippelappes (a kind of mushroom) was very tasty, but a bit hard because it was in one piece. The chanterelle mushrooms were OK, but the vegetables were completely overcooked. The dumpling was not good. Absolutely tasteless. They lacked any seasoning. The worst part was the sauce. It had nothing to do with an original Saarland sauce for filled dumplings. The consistency and taste were not good. Unfortunately, the outside area was very dirty. There were cigarettes on the ground. They need to be more careful about that. Service was excellent, the food was okay.

We've eaten here several times and always enjoy coming back. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Wirtshausburger is especially recommended. It's huge and incredibly filling. In summer, you can sit in the courtyard at the back and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere.

We visited with three adults and a toddler and were completely satisfied. The food was excellent, freshly prepared, tasted great, and the portion sizes were absolutely reasonable. I would particularly like to highlight my Jägerschnitzel, which was truly excellent. The drinks selection is also impressive: from local beer specialties to international classics, there was everything. Overall, a very pleasant visit in a relaxed atmosphere; we would be happy to return!

I ate here with work colleagues on Tuesday, and it was so great that I immediately told my family about it, and I came back today, Sunday. The selection is huge, and the tapas concept is brilliant. Both the selection, the preparation, and the taste are truly authentic Saarland. Whether it's Gefillde, Geheirade, Dibbelappes, or whatever. Everything, simply everything, is truly Saarland, truly authentic, and truly delicious. The selection of drinks also reflects the region very well, and the "Goldener Hahn" provides interregional variety. The ambiance is also very nice and truly authentic Saarland. - Just like at Grandma's!! - Plus, the warm and professional service. Everything is always quick and super friendly. If that were possible, I would give it 6/5 stars. - An insider tip for tourists and a must-go for all Saarlanders!! I'd be happy to go back!

The Dibbelabbes were wonderful, even the vegan version (I was there during Lent) was absolutely amazing. Plus, an alcohol-free wheat beer, just like you'd dream of, and a wonderful atmosphere. The service was also friendly and attentive.

The seating is very comfortable. The decor is top-notch and somewhat innovative. But you're squashed into the seat, so you're kind of sitting on top of each other. The food isn't served very stylishly. Plates are too small, schnitzel comes in small bowls, and salad is served in a watering can!!!??? Burgers are really thick patties. Drinks are a bit too expensive! I had the Wirtshausburger. Very difficult to eat. You have to have some manual dexterity to eat it. The plate was much too small, and a sharp knife would have been helpful. I had a real problem, and the fries flew off my plate! Then came the worst Williams pear pudding ever! Served in a glass jar! It somehow didn't taste like pear. The service was unprofessional. The restrooms are questionable!! IN SUMMARY, there are people who like all of this and it tastes great, but unfortunately, I don't!

A very nice restaurant with a cozy interior and a classic beer garden outside. The menu offers a good selection with options for everyone – meat, vegetarian, vegan, small portions like tapas, or larger dishes. The portions are plentiful. The drinks menu also offers a wide selection. The staff is friendly, even when it's full. And the wait times aren't long either. The cream sauce is a slight disadvantage in terms of taste, but the delicious sauerkraut is a big plus.

A complete disaster! The waiter was stoned beyond belief. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, we left the restaurant without ordering our food. The drinks also arrived incorrectly. The bill didn't arrive for 15 minutes! It couldn't be worse!

I ate the garden salad with schnitzel strips. It was abysmally bad. The salad was miles away from fresh and crisp. It was definitely not fresh, but rather wilted and mushy. The schnitzel strips were overcooked, dry, and tasted bad. I told the server this, and she was very upset. Long story short... I couldn't eat the salad and returned it. When I paid, my Coke was waived. My criticism was not accepted. Unfortunately, I don't see any goodwill in this regard.

We ate there once. The vegetarian/vegan alternatives, such as Gefillde and Dibbelabbes, unfortunately didn't convince us. Everything was very blandly seasoned, not a taste sensation. We found the king oyster mushrooms with ratatouille almost inedible. Tough and watery at the same time. For us, this will be a one-time visit.

The place was rather cramped and completely overcrowded, and it was so, so loud. Unfortunately, the food was rather bland and lacking in flavor. Although it arrived relatively warm at the table, it almost immediately went cold again.

Magnificent terrace but I'll stop there, terrible service, 35 minutes waiting for our drinks, the waiters were not at their best. And as soon as the drinks arrived, the food arrived... we would have enjoyed enjoying the aperitif! As for food, the warne wirtshaustapas are big, we enjoyed the dibbelabbes but the kräuterseitling was not very successful and the schnitzel thick and without refinement.

In addition to Saarland cuisine, there is also a selection of meat dishes - I ate the best Cordon Bleu so far here! 🤤 But vegetarians also get their money's worth here. Drinks menu also very nice. 🍹 We were all absolutely thrilled and will definitely come back. 🌸

I'm a regular customer, but I have negative memories of the last few times. The service is absolutely top and friendly, but I have repeatedly had the feeling that my schnitzel was not freshly prepared. It seems as if the schnitzels have been kept warm for a long time. The schnitzel was firm and dry. Things used to be worlds better. If I order a schnitzel for over €20, I want it to be of good quality. I will go to Zahm Inn in the future. You get the right quality for your money. Maybe someone will read this and take it to heart. I understand that you are always fully booked, but the prices should also match the quality of the products. After all, I know you can do better.

I went to the football in SB and then had dinner with Hilde and Heinz. It was by no means Bundesliga ready, but it was Champions League mediocre and extremely tasty. Staff super friendly, Very cozy atmosphere, As I said, food was moderate. We'd love to come back next year ❤️

Was eating at Hilde&Heinz for the first time. We went by spontaneously and were lucky to get a free table. Finally a restaurant with Saarland dishes that are also available as a vegetarian option. I'd love to have more of it. It was very good. The service was very courteous and relaxed, which is something you rarely get. He definitely seems to enjoy the job. The portions were sufficient, almost too much. You don't have to be afraid of going home hungry.
