A very cozy, quiet restaurant offering high-quality, rustic dishes with top-notch service. Always very busy, so reservations are recommended, especially on weekend evenings. In winter, we definitely recommend the half duck with red cabbage, the pike-perch, or simply the beef fillet. Good wine selection; we usually stick with the Lugana from Frati, as it pairs well with most dishes. The prices are in line with fine dining without being pretentious. We come regularly and always enjoy returning. The owner himself came to our table today and treated us to a perfect dinner – rump steak with chanterelles and roast potatoes 🔥👍 Christmas dinner was also outstanding: perfect duck and goose, accompanied by a Barolo and a delicious mandarin sorbet. Update end of October 2025: First kale dish of the season, as delicious as every year before.

There were four of us for goose dinner. It was so delicious and the service was fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

There were four of us here on Saturday, and we ordered a whole goose with all the trimmings. But first and foremost, what's most important to us is the four people who looked after us! We felt right at home: friendly, welcoming, and attentive! Simply wonderful! A huge thank you for that, as we don't take it for granted! Regarding the food and the kitchen: the people in the kitchen are every bit as good as the service staff. The goose was perfect, and we even ordered extra gravy – it was so delicious and glossy. The other side dishes were also superb. A special mention goes to the little Brussels sprouts, which were flavored with finely sliced ​​streaky bacon. Everything was simply top-notch. The dessert was the icing on the cake. Overall, the people in the kitchen work with love. We will definitely be visiting this wonderful restaurant more often from now on.

We often eat here during the week since we don't live far away and are always very satisfied. The food has always tasted very good and the service is always attentive and very friendly. The price is more than fair for the quality of the food - I would definitely recommend the restaurant, especially the duck and the Wiener Schnitzel are very good. It is advisable to reserve in advance, especially on weekends, as there are more than enough parking spaces.

We had a very nice evening in this elegant, cozy restaurant. The service is perfect and very friendly. The cream in the couvert was very tasty. I had the first asparagus this year, which was served with egg-coated plaice and hollandaise sauce. Simply wonderful. This is what perfect upscale gastronomy looks like.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Geburtstagsgesellschaft hier. Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht, die Knödel waren wässrig, die Gänsebrust schrecklich trocken und zäh, konnte man kaum kauen, alles war nur lauwarm, eine sosse war eiskalt, die dunkle sosse hatte eine dicke Haut die beim Gießen als dicker Klumpen aus der sauciere schwappte , das war echt ekelhaft. Viel Geld für ganz mäßige Qualität, keine Empfehlung

Went to this German restaurant for the first time today, which can be classified as a bit more upscale! For food we chose the steak pan and the rump steak with champions and onions. Steakhouse fries were also served! We were both completely satisfied with our food. For dessert there was another crème brulee, which was also delicious. The only negative point I would say is the volume! The restaurant was well attended! I definitely recommend Herman's Post, even if the bill ended up being a little higher (€89). But it won't be my/our last visit to this restaurant!

A great atmosphere is created as soon as you make a reservation. When you enter, you get a warm welcome that lasts until you leave the restaurant. All the waitresses are always very accommodating and super nice. The food is very varied and always freshly prepared. Even when it's full again. Simply great. Cozy German restaurant with good quality cuisine. However, neither the waitresses nor most of the guests (more of an older crowd) are very child-friendly. You get a lot of dirty looks when the children are loud for a moment.

Four of us were at Herman's Post today. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty (three meat dishes and one vegetarian dish). Unfortunately, there is only a small selection for vegetarians. That's a shame. The service is extremely friendly and attentive.

We ate here with 10 people and we all loved it. The food was without exception very good, whether duck, fish, steak or schnitzel. Our absolute highlight was Christian, the service person. He looked after us so kindly, he responded to every single one of our group with humor and good tips, we were thrilled.

Food and service absolutely excellent. Slight irritation regarding the well-behaved and inconspicuous dogs we brought with us, even though we had announced them over the phone or asked if it was okay to bring them with us. At first it didn't seem particularly desirable to us, at least from one of the employees. Luckily the other two made up for it and were extremely friendly and accommodating!

My wife and I were gong to have dinner every other week from January to the end of April and never once did we have a bad meal or an unpleasant experience; The food, we found, is uniformly excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. They speak both German and English. The fischsuppe and hochzeitsuppe are both excellent and for mains the knipp and shinkensulze are wonderfully prepared local specialties. For a more meaty appetite all of the Schnitzels and worth trying and my wife was especially fond of the Zander. Finally if you are looking for something a bit lighter all of the flammkuchen are good. Not to be missed, and we will be back next year! Meine Frau und ich waren von Januar bis Ende April jede zweite Woche zum Abendessen dort, und nicht ein einziges Mal hatten wir ein schlechtes Essen oder eine unangenehme Erfahrung. Das Essen, so fanden wir, ist durchweg ausgezeichnet, und das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie sprechen sowohl Deutsch als auch Englisch. Die Fischsuppe und die Hochzeitssuppe sind beide ausgezeichnet, und die Hauptgerichte Knipp und Shinkensulze sind wunderbar zubereitete lokale Spezialitäten. Für den fleischlichen Appetit sind alle Schnitzel einen Versuch wert, und meine Frau mochte besonders den Zander. Und wenn Sie etwas Leichteres suchen, sind die Flammkuchen sehr gut. Nicht zu verpassen, und wir werden nächstes Jahr wiederkommen!

Delicious German home cooking. The snap was fine. But the fried potatoes were a dream. It's been a long time since I've eaten such delicious brawn. The toilets have deodorant, individually wrapped toothpicks and cloth towels and mouthwash. Craziness. Good parking spaces which you don't have to see on the terrace. Wonderful. Friendly employees. Overall a great evening :)

The restaurant is very lovingly decorated! The toilets are also absolutely clean and there are even some hygiene products available! The staff is well trained and friendly. The food is also excellent! This is what good service looks like - keep it up!

The food - there was asparagus - was excellent, the hollandaise sauce was top. 33 € is really a lot of money for the dish, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to spend it. The service colleague was quick and very professional. A somewhat more personal and friendly address would suit the house well. But that's whining at the 95/100 point level. Clear recommendation, gladly again.

Had Christmas dinner take out for 12 people. Quality was mediocre: Cold, uncooked and poor quality. Look for another option if you enjoy good food

Had the salmon as starter, then the wild boar stew and the game stew as main dish. The mains were served with spätzle. Everything was excellent and the portions of the mains big (perhaps too big). Just one remark: the game stew sauce was slightly saltier than anticipated. Service was attentive and efficient. Overall, this is a great place to dine, far from the tourist crowds.

Went there by chance and were really surprised by the quality of the food and the attentive and exemplary service. The roulades and the plaice were simply amazing 🤩. But the rest of the food, including the snack bread basket, was simply top class!!! Everyone in the store seems to know their craft very, very well 👍! Please continue !!!! BEST Zander Super Cross and no metallic taste. For the first time you have tried several Zander in other restaurants. Great preparation and crunchy green sweet beans and the gratin is a dream and nice portions. Everything is harmonious and the wine and atmosphere and charming service again and again

I had the best veal liver of my life! With delicious mashed potatoes, onions and apple slices. A poem! Die Preise sind ambitioniert... Dafür erwarte ich ausschließlich frische Speisen und keine Produkte, die geschmacklich und optisch schon eine lange Warmhaltung hinter sich hatten

Das Menü war überteuert und insbesondere das Hauptessen dürftig. Lieblos war das Wildgulasch auf den Teller serviert, ohne schmückendes Beiwerk und von Fleisch nichts zu sehen, nur Pilze und braune Sauce. Die war schmackhaft, aber dafür braucht man nicht ins Restaurant gehen. Auch der Nachtisch wenig überzeugend, ganz klein und die Kirschen sahen aus, als wären sie aus dem Glas von Aldi. Alles in Allem nicht zu empfehlen. Nur die Bedienung war wirklich sehr nett und bemüht.

Leider zu Weihnachten sehr enttäuschend. Massenabfertigung, vegetarisches Menü war unterirdisch und viel zu teuer! Der Tisch war für 14 reserviert und wir mussten 15 Minuten draußen warten. Die Ente war Massenware!

Ein toller Ort, um großartig zu Essen. Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet, das Essen ist hervorragend und der Service sehr aufmerksam. Wir kommen immer sehr gerne. Der Mittagstisch ist sehr reichhaltig.

Eine Ganz bestellt 200 € war vorgebraten dann fertig gebraten leider sehr trocken Haut nicht knusprig werden bei HP keine Ganz mehr essen wir fahren lieber wie früher zum Vielstedter Bauernhus 160 € auch wenn es weiter ist dafür um ein mehrfaches besser.

Ein wirklich sehr tolles Restaurant, wundervolles Ambiente und das Essen ein Schmaus für den Gaumen. Ich komme aus Bayern und werde bei Gelegenheit wieder vorbei kommen. Ein großes Lob an alle!

Wahnsinn‘s Essen, großartiger Service , gut organisierte Küche ! Lasst solch ein Lokal für gutes und auch bezahlbares Essen zum Standart in Norddeutschland werden. Von Wild Bus Fisch alles dabei. Wir sehen uns wieder !

Als 3 Generationen Familie waren wir äußerst zufrieden mit den Speisen, mit tollen Weinen und sauberem rustikalen Ambiente. Besonders zu erwähnen ist der tiptop Personal, der die Gäste wirklich verwöhnt, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Alle Gerichte waren ziemlich schnell aufgetischt, die Portionen größer als man es erwarten könnte. Alles ohne Schnickschnack, dafür aber frisch, gut gewürzt und super lecker. Auch in Toiletten waren wir überrascht über die Sauberkeit, die bei vollem Haus nicht so selbstverständlich ist. Kurz und gut, 11 Sterne von 10. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

Sehr nettes Restaurant mit verschiedenen Räumlichkeiten, die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich, was wir gegessen hatten war sehr gut, geschmacklich wie auch in der Menge, der bestellte Riesling zum Essen war leider etwas zu warm - wir mögen ihn recht kühl, die Preise sind wie überall angezogen, aber noch absolut in Ordnung und angepasst, das Personal ist sehr freundlich - wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen

Das Essen war gut. Suppe lecker, Vorspeise hätt ich mir gewünscht zu wissen was drin ist, wegen Intoleranz, Hauptspeise auch gut, lediglich das Gemüse war sehr dezent gewürzt, Nachspeise hab ich nicht mehr geschafft. Ein bisl viel Zeit zum Servieren der Gänge dazwischen gelassen. Aber gut. Ambiente war gut. Hatt auch gern draussen gesessen, aber wir waren ja eine Gesellschaft!

Ein Spitzen Lokal mit ausgegallenem und äußerst leckerem Essen. Rehschnitzel gibt es nicht überall !! Und der Kartoffelgratin !! Ein Gedicht !! Gereicht in einer separaten Form !! Ganz klasse !! Und top Bedienung gibt es noch obendrauf !! Daumen hoch !!
