Henny's Restaurant & Events in Hamburg

Besonders schönes Gebäude, mir fehlt hier allerdings die Gemütlichkeit - es ist sehr groß, modern eingerichtet mit relativ lauter hipster Ibiza-Musik, so dass man sich kaum unterhalten kann. Kellner sind in Ordnung, nicht sonderlich freundlich oder zuvorkommend aber auch nicht unfreundlich. Essen (Schnitzel und Pasta) war alles sehr lecker - preislich ist dort alles aber sehr überzogen. Es geht im Hennys mehr ums „sehen und gesehen werden“ - Publikum ist sehr homogen, Klischee Winterhude erfüllt 😌

We celebrated an event in this restaurant and are more than satisfied! The entire experience was excellent - from starters to dessert, the food was simply amazing and we were accompanied by excellent recommendations for every course. We would particularly like to highlight our waiter Milad, who was really very attentive and friendly. He took great care of us and made sure we didn't lack anything. We can only warmly recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back!

Everything was a bit cramped, the service wasn't that fragrant and I can still feel the food in my stomach even though it wasn't even much. If you want to eat something in a relaxed manner and expect a flawless service experience, you're in the wrong place here. (The meal took an exorbitantly long time)

Saturday evening, got there on time, very full, stood in the entrance for five minutes, waited 10 minutes for the table, no response, everything was very crowded, getting in the way of the rushed staff. We then waited at the table for half an hour just to place the order, others who came later already had their food on the table, I then got up and ran after the waiter, asking him to think of us too... . A cozy evening looks different, pleasant service feels different. Unfortunately, we have often experienced overworked, stressed staff and poor service here at Hennys recently. For us it was the last evening here.

I have been to Hennys not the first time. But things definitely have changed. The last visit, like 3 weeks ago, was super disappointing. The food wasn’t good and when mentioned that’s too much mayonnaise on food they answered with: „now you know,next time order it with less mayonnaise“ . I am willing to pay money for dinner when going out, but this was absolut overpriced for what we have gotten. The service was ok but not excellent. I won’t be back soon, I have to digest that experience.

Very beautiful restaurant with a great menue & nice service.

This was our second time there for Christmas dinner with the company. I am very happy with everything. The service was great...The waiter was called Schayan. He had been very attentive and very kind. The food was super tasty and the portions were sufficient. We sat in a separate room and it was very comfortable. I would definitely come again.

To eat: The cucumber salad as a starter is very, very large. Unfortunately, there was a bit of fat on my meat. The gnocci were otherwise very tasty. The quality of the roast beef was good, but it was cold. But I don't know if that's how it should be. The cinnamon cheesecake is a square, relatively flat piece of cake. It didn't taste freshly baked and was correspondingly more expensive at around €13. The ambience was nice. But you have to know that the music is very loud and it is more difficult to have a conversation in a quiet tone.

Die Qualität der Speisen ist m.E. eher Bahnhofs Niveau. Teuer und nicht gut. Ich verstehe schon, dass es für viele Paare nur zum Gesehen werden wichtig ist, Aver die Preise und Qualität sind total überzogen. 😎

Were there with a small group. Chairs were so close together that you couldn't move. My main course only came when the first ones were finished. However, the side dishes were missing and they only came when everyone was ready. There was no apology or even compensation. And then when it comes to the prices... it doesn't suit me at all.

We came to the Christmas party with 25 people. The room was warmed with a very small fan heater. We put our jackets back on. The service was present every now and then. Neither plates nor empty glasses were cleared away. The buffet was limited and nothing special. It wasn't described what was what either. It's no use if there are six sauces and you don't know which goes with what or what they taste like. You have to wait 30 minutes for new drinks after ordering. We won't be coming back!

Henny’s in Hamburg is convincing across the board. My favorite is the schnitzel – always cooked to perfection and of excellent quality. The service is professional, attentive and makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasantly calm, which makes the restaurant highly recommended for a special evening. The terrace is a real highlight, especially in summer; it is a wonderful place to end the evening. Definitely worth a visit!

Went there yesterday for a wedding reception. Short and sweet, the space and presentation were great, the food and drinks were great and the service was really great. We felt completely comfortable. A great wedding celebration.

I wrote to Hennys in a friendly manner at the beginning of October and asked about reserving a small private dinner room for our wedding. Since I didn't receive an answer, I asked politely by phone twice within three weeks (directly to the restaurant) when I could expect an answer. I was told both times that someone would contact me soon. To date no reaction/answer. It's very unfortunate and unprofessional not to even bother to reply. So if someone is looking for a restaurant for their wedding party, I unfortunately cannot recommend Hennys. It's a shame, because the food was always consistently good.

To all review readers, please read this carefully... So, we had an event at Henny’s yesterday and would like to share our mixed experiences. First the positive: The food was really excellent! The food tasted great, was fresh and served attractively. A big compliment to the kitchen. Unfortunately, there is also one very disappointing point: While I was already in the dining room, my parents later told me that when they entered the restaurant they were treated extremely unfriendly by a waiter at the front door. His disrespectful and condescending comments left her very disturbed. The same waiter was also noticeable when paying - he seemed stressed, annoyed and definitely not professional and arrogant!!! Whoever this waiter was, he surely knows that's who he's talking about. :))) Or is it even the boss??? Then he can take his staff as an example! In contrast, the OTHER waiters who looked after us throughout the evening were very friendly and attentive!!! It's a real shame that the behavior of one individual has had such a negative impact on the overall impression... Despite the excellent food, unfortunately we will NOT be coming back. For us, service is a crucial factor and there is clearly room for improvement.

A wide range is usually a big balancing act and usually ends up in mediocrity. The balancing act has been achieved here. Good sushi, pasta, steak and fish. Everything was very tasty in a cozy atmosphere.

Our grandpa's 80th birthday in the Private Dining Room was a total ordeal - nothing more, nothing less. Our visit to Henny's was an absolute disaster. After the starter we had to wait an incredible 1.5 hours for the main course - without the waiter even showing up. No clearing of dishes, no opportunity to order more drinks - 90 minutes of complete ignorance. When we finally asked, we were told everything was fine, but the food arrived a total of 90 minutes late. The situation worsened further when the plates were not cleared for another 30 to 40 minutes after the main course. Once again there was no waitress in sight, so we had to go downstairs ourselves to point out that we wanted to order. To make matters worse, the order for the children was taken incorrectly and in the end everything dragged on so long that we couldn't even cut the birthday cake. We had to take her back with us without having accomplished anything. An evening that was supposed to be a special occasion turned into an absolute nightmare. Henny's used to be a great restaurant, but after this experience I can't recommend it at all. Absolutely no way. I am super understanding and patient. I've never written a gastro review - no matter how bad the experience was - because I'm a gastro kid myself. But what we experienced as a family at Hennys today was simply bitter.

I was so proud of celebrating one of the most outrageous birthdays here that I even took the cake home for dinner. As a restaurateur, I can understand the chef's mistakes, but I cannot accept that the waiter and manager are talking off the cuff. A failed schnitzel where the meat and skin were completely separate and couldn't be eaten together at all. The waiter came to me and said it was because of the lemon juice squeezed over the hot crust and that it wasn't bad food, just that. The manager came over and said the same thing. Unfortunately, I'm from Vienna, I've eaten at least 500 schnitzels in my life and I know exactly what it's like. But on my birthday I don't want to argue with anyone. 32 euros for a dish of this rubbish is really a big joke. Ridiculing guests like they were idiots and smashing their own signage. I would never give a bad review for bad food, but I cannot accept such poor service in a food establishment.

So some of the team are really great, others are extreme sleepyheads. When we were served we were given a wine and “That”, we would still be waiting at the entrance if we hadn’t imposed ourselves as guests. It's getting worse there. As a guest you feel more and more like a supplicant. The burger, on the other hand, was really good.

Food was very good. Details, quantity, just went. Fries again standard. Too bad. Would have expected more. Price was all good for this restaurant.

We were here yesterday with 7 people and a small child. We liked the central location. The food was ok, the service was great and very, very attentive. Prices are still ok.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding at Henny's last Saturday and we were both very pleased! We had the upper floor to ourselves with our guests. The service and the food (we had a grill buffet) were first class. All of our wishes were taken into account and everyone was very friendly and helpful!! Can only recommend the restaurant

We received a very friendly welcome, ate very, very well the pasta/truffle noodles and the amazing vanilla marzipan ball. My daughter and I are thrilled and would be happy to come back.

We ate here twice during our week in Hamburg and were thrilled every time. For us, the best restaurant in all aspects near the Alster. From the bread with excellent dip as an appetizer, to various main and dessert dishes plus the friendly and prompt service staff, everything was at the top level!! We were in Hamburg on a sunny long weekend, and while looking for a restaurant, we came across this great restaurant! The food was great 🔝 Service 🔝 Ambiance 🔝 We'll be back! Kind regards from NRW

The starters were good, the main courses were partly over-spiced, but the service was outrageous and culminated in impudence that no one in our group had ever experienced before. There were six of us and we ordered 5 starters and 6 main courses. The reaction here was immediately unfriendly that we didn't order enough starters. The response was extremely unfriendly and we didn't order dessert or coffee. The whole thing culminated in the insolence of the waiter saying that the double-digit tip offered was not enough and not 10%, that he would expect a tip of over 30 euros..... Tipping is at the guest's discretion and should be commensurate with the quality, friendliness and professionalism of the service... After his "not enough" comment, we settled the bill without a tip. Never again......

Restaurant review Ambiance: The ambience in the restaurant was attractive and pleasant. The furnishings and atmosphere contributed to an overall positive impression. Service: The waiters were generally friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there was a lack of goodwill and flexibility, which spoiled our dining experience somewhat and a waiter flirted strangely with one of my group, right when all the male participants went to the toilet. Food: Unfortunately, our first steak was too well done. We returned it and were served a second steak, but it was far too raw and apparently not grilled properly. This was disappointing and was not resolved satisfactorily. As compensation we were only offered a cup of coffee, which was not enough in our opinion. Drinks: We were brought a drink that we didn't order, then the waiter looked at us confused and we left the drink with us because we didn't want to be like that. Overall, our visit was a mixed bag: the ambience and waiters' efforts were mediocre, but the quality of the food and the lack of handling of our complaints left something to be desired.

Das Essen war okay, der Service jedoch unverschämt und gipfelte in Frechheiten die noch keiner in unserer Gruppe so erlebt hat. Es fing mit der Bestellung an. Wir waren eine Gruppe von sechs Personen und bestellten fünf Vorspeisen und sechs Hauptspeisen. Hier wurde gleich zu Anfang recht unfreundlich reagiert dass wir eine Vorspeise weniger bestellt haben als Anzahl Personen. Nachdem wir mit der Hauptspeise fertig waren wurde eine Frage nach einer Soße nicht beantwortet und pampig genervt reagiert. Danach wollten wir zahlen. Nachdem wir die Frage nach Dessert oder Kaffee verneinten, wurde die Servicekraft noch unfreundlicher. Beim Bezahlen wollte ich 15 € Trinkgeld geben (mehr als angemessen Angesichts der Freundlichkeit des Services) worauf die Kraft antwortete dies sei nicht genug und keine 10%. Unglaublich, das wars. Wir haben die Rechnung beglichen ohne Trinkgeld.

I went there for dinner for my birthday. Starter was quite okay. Service was unbelievably bad, something was constantly forgotten, I asked about it twice. Schnitzel and potatoes limp and not crispy!! (My theory is that it was forgotten and warmed up) I wouldn't go there again!

Today we had the pleasure of dining at Henny's and absolutely loved it. The portions are extremely generous and the staff was extremely attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back! A big thank you also for the exquisite drinks :)

Restaurant in the middle to upper price segment with modern furnishings and delicious food. However, the non-alcoholic drinks were absurdly expensive. I think €6.90 for a 0.4l spritzer is crazy.

Solid food, but not better than many restaurants in the area. However, the service is an absolute no go. If I leave several hundred euros in a restaurant, I at least expect polite behavior and not to be constantly harassed. I have rarely seen service staff with such an outrageous attitude. Even though the terrace is nice to sit on, I won't be coming back again.

Subterranean poor service. Rarely have I experienced such unfriendly, arrogant and sometimes aggressive behavior towards restaurant guests. I won't set foot in this restaurant again.

The food is great, but it took forever. The service is okay (after paying we were at a loss - our requests were ignored). The tables are just too close.

Hmm, we've been happy here several times and now we had a little family celebration. Unfortunately, this time the service wasn't right at all, right down to the fact that suhi rolls were brought to us incorrectly on another guest's plate and the waiter fumbled over the guest's head to remove them again, really embarrassing for everyone! In a restaurant in this price range I clearly expect "Sorry, of course we'll bring you new rolls straight away". And it is negative that they apparently want to do business with the sale of (very expensive) water bottles, as they constantly refill half-full glasses without being asked. Nor was the invitationer's displeasure addressed or apologized in any way. You can always have a bad day, but here the basic attitude was wrong.

We are shocked about the settlement From account in Henny's house! We were at Henny's house on June 15th, 2024. We have a bill of €166 P. card + 16 € tip in cash the young man Handed out, The restaurant debited €230.38 Without informing us. After a telephone conversation with an employee, we agreed to the high tip of €60. ? which is absolutely not true! What a scam! That we are not pleased is another matter, But we will pursue that. A great restaurant! Great decor, great food and very good, nice and attentive service. We were there for a celebration with around 30 people and felt incredibly comfortable. The asparagus risotto was a dream, as were the mixed starters and the wild garlic soup with prawns was a delight.

Yes, it's a high-priced restaurant, but you know that beforehand. I really liked almost everything here. The food was cuisine of a fairly high standard. This not only requires skill, but also the appropriate ingredients. There were several of us. Everyone was excited. The service impeccable. I found sitting close together a bit disturbing. Overall, it was a lovely evening that will be remembered fondly.

Today we had dinner at Hennys Super tasty - non-alcoholic cocktail and chateaubriand with a selection of side dishes. As a starter there was a small selection of sushi. We recommend. Minimal criticism: it's quite small and you sit close to each other... that can of course also be positive, because it means you can start a conversation.

I'm still upset... At lunch we were given an explicitly ordered lunch menu (haddock with asparagus risotto/14.50 euros) with the subtle request "asparagus risotto?" The food came and we noticed scampi while we were eating and thought maybe there wasn't enough haddock at the market.. When it came to the bill, the gentleman wanted to charge us the price for a normal menu, he had asked again “asparagus risotto”. We didn't even look at that because it was on the normal menu, because it was the lunch menu was on page 1... For me, these are sleight of hand to subtly convince people of the more expensive menu. Luckily there were four of us and so we had witnesses; others might have accepted it that way. A very good restaurant in itself, but something like that doesn't work at all...

Actually there is still salad on the Bürger, but thanks to the nice service I was able to enjoy this delicious Burger in a great atmosphere :) even without greens :D

Excellent food. Great and varied menu. The mix of sushi, German classics and great meat offers something for everyone. Unfortunately, the service during our visit left a lot to be desired. Except for a young gentleman with glasses, all the waiters were unfriendly and rude. Aperitif came with the appetizer and drinks that were ordered with the meal. For families with babies, it should be mentioned that there is unfortunately no changing table.

Wir haben hier draußen zu siebt gesessen und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Service gut, wir haben nicht zu lange gewartet, Essen sehr gut, alle zufrieden. Einzig die Speisekarte ist etwas schräg: Traditionelle Gerichte wie Finkenwerder Scholle und Kalbsbäckchen „neben“ Sushi und Sashimi….

Modern restaurant at Mühlenkamp. I recommend making a reservation in advance by phone. The selection in the menu is very large. For my taste, the gastronomic concept could be a little more specific and reduced. But my food was very tasty. The service was attentive and professional. Prices are slightly higher at Henny's. I've always wanted a tomahawk steak and it was simply the best steak I've eaten in Hamburg for a long time. The steak was buttery tender and the side dishes and sauces were also excellent. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the service was very attentive. I will gladly come again!
