Hemingway Weiden in Weiden i.d.OPf.

Watched the game between Bayern and Mönchengladbach today. Completely disappointed because the 2nd league game was shown afterwards instead of the championship celebration and the bowl handover. 😡

Breakfast underground - service too Unfortunately the breakfast is subpar again. It used to be that way. Then came a very good time in which we enjoyed being here. But unfortunately our last visit was a complete disaster. It started with the fact that I chose a breakfast that would have included Prosecco. I said I can't drink alcohol (I'm breastfeeding) and asked if there was a non-alcoholic one. Answer: No. Ok, short and sweet. Then I asked if I could have something else for it, e.g. B. a hot drink (according to the menu, coffee costs €0.30 more than a Prosecco - I would have paid more if necessary). Answer: No. Then I left it at that. Breakfast arrives and I have to say that neither the quality (including limp vegetables and fruit that had probably been cut for a long time) nor the quantity (the rolls were far too much for the little stuff you could eat on or with it - and that's saying something!) were worth the money (16.90)! In addition, the latte was about the size of a normal coffee and just lukewarm. Normally you can get nice big bowls/milk coffee cups everywhere... During breakfast I had to hear that a gentleman at the next table could easily order scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs. That makes you feel a bit fooled, to say the least... So I waited for our bill and was still of the opinion that something would definitely be deducted because I didn't have the Prosecco. But puff cake! The €16.90 was charged. All I can say is THANK YOU! When I gave almost no tip, the waitress, who wasn't really friendly anyway, literally snatched the money out of my hand and looked at me askance. But why should I tip generously here?! My conclusion: I won't be coming back. And neither does my family. And I don't skimp on telling people the same thing.

The staff and food were really great. We were served super quickly, the staff was very friendly and helpful even though the store was full outside. The food also came very quickly and was extremely tasty; the pizza, salad and burgers were all great. The only thing that wasn't great was the toilets, they were dirty and the soap dispenser was empty. Of course I am aware that the guests are to blame for the condition of the toilets, but when you "handle" so many guests you just have to check it regularly. We would still like to come back.

Yes, it was very busy, which means it takes time for the food to be at the table, but the service was attentive and the food was delicious. The prices were appropriate for the food. Thanks for the delicious food.

We first went bowling with our children. A very nice atmosphere. Afterwards we went to eat something in the restaurant downstairs. We felt very comfortable here too. The food was beautifully prepared, it was very tasty and, in our opinion, the quantity was more than sufficient. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back!

Two weeks ago I was at Hemingway and had pizza and a salad there. The bottom of the pizza was completely burnt and the salad was swimming in the dressing and was mostly inedible. This time we went bowling and when we got there it was just dirty. There was dirt everywhere on the floor, the floor of the toilet on the upper floor was also dirty and sticky. However, this time the food was okay. The service was rather difficult upstairs and downstairs. The service box didn't work and the staff occasionally looked around the corner, but even if the glasses were empty, someone only came by after waving several times. In general, however, I'm not impressed.

My partner and I were there for breakfast today and were served in such a rude and disrespectful manner by a lady of older age. After the tip there was neither a thank you nor a “do you need the receipt”, the receipt was thrown at us and at the same time she turned around without saying goodbye, we will definitely not let this person serve us anymore, you felt like the last idiot.

We were there as a larger group with children. The volume was very unpleasant and conversations were hardly possible. The service was friendly and attentive, unfortunately all of our dishes arrived at different times. Some were already finished when others still had no food. Nuggets were dripping in grease and the fries were unfortunately cold. Milkshake was just cocoa. Too bad. The schnitzels, on the other hand, were good. The service wanted to clear away our plates while we were still eating. Unfortunately it doesn't work either.

Were visiting Weiden. Group of 8. Food was very good. The staff is friendly, our waitress is always on hand. The dishes came quickly. Inviting atmosphere, lots of parking spaces. Simply reserve online via the website. We'll be back on our next visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Local in Weiden with a nice atmosphere, various seating areas/areas, a large selection of food and parking right in front of the door. Menu with a large selection - something for everyone (burgers, schnitzels, salads, pizza from the stone oven like an Italian restaurant, breakfast selection until lunchtime) Different areas for sitting - Bavarian area or classic. Extra room for birthday parties etc. possible. Play area for children - suitable for families, high chair, changing area, children's meals, etc. Parking right in front of the door. It feels like it's always been there - previously with a passage to the disco, now next to it/small passage to the arcade, above the bowling alley. Service 4, once we were well served, the other time we had to wait a long time for the first order, even though service staff were free.

One of the best burgers I have had here in Germany. The sauce on it was absolutely amazing. The service was a little slow, but it was busy so it makes sense. The atmosphere is a little loud, but that's to be expected at this sort of place. Highly recommend eating here.

The food was very tasty, everything was freshly prepared and very attractively presented. On the day of our visit (Sunday) the Hemmingway was very well attended. The service gave everything, but hardly kept up. After the first drink we had to request the service again and again, be it for more drinks, missing food or the bill. It was also a shame that our food (8 dishes) only came one after the other and not at the same time, so that the first ones had already finished eating by the time the last one even had their food in front of them. Overall it was very loud even though we had a seat in a corner.

Was there again last week on Friday after about 20 years with very good school friends, it was very impressive, it was super nice and everything was perfect, food, service, ambience.👍👍👍

So a bank would be reserved. But we were given a small table with absolutely crappy chairs. Then they had a dice at the table that was supposed to signal what you wanted to order or pay, which I can say didn't work. Then we ordered pizza and currywurst. The only positive thing about the pizza was the size but nothing else. In terms of taste, there was very little topping, there was supposed to be oregano on it, it only saw the edekett but not the spice. The cutlery should also be changed every now and then. Knives don't even cut a flat pizza. I was there for the first time and also the last time. Oh yes, the pizza cost 14.80 euros, way too much. Every tk pizza has more taste.

The food is decent but the service is awesome and you’ll wait an hour for a single hamburger.. wild.. I’ve been here three times and each time was not pleasant.

Went there for lunch as a couple. We had to wait a long time for the waitress to finally come to take our order. Drinks came quickly. I only drank water because I don't like the Diet Coke here. The original would be much better. This time we had to wait longer than usual for the food, but it tasted very good and the portion was large. Would come more often if some of the waitresses were friendlier and were allowed to sit in the next room above the guest room. But that's no longer allowed after 12 p.m., I have no idea why.

We had reservations for 8 p.m. For bowling we booked online and received a confirmation email. We therefore assumed that we would definitely have a place. Upon arrival we were told that we had to answer an email to confirm which was a joke in my opinion. That's why 1 star and I'll never see you again.

Mostly quick service with girls who are always in a good mood in a pleasant atmosphere. The cuisine is excellent. The back room (football room) takes some getting used to

Food is good, but a restaurant without Pils on the menu - you have to ask yourself. Several guests asked about it - the answer was "we don't have it" - as if it was a special bubbly 😂

Unfortunately the pizza is no longer good, the base is much too thin, the taste is bland, there are no spices, the edges are burnt. Everything else is always delicious, but we don't eat pizza there anymore. Prices higher than stated. 🤔

It takes approximately 15 minutes for a first order. Food and drinks are brought quickly. However, you should make your own way to place a second order, as this service throw is not necessarily observed at the table.

The premises has a parking lot. Nice service, delicious food.

Parking situation goes like this. Went there in a group and the staff forgot the fries from all the burgers. Then you eat everything individually or wait 10-15 minutes and eat the burger cold. The last fries came about 45 minutes after the burger. A drink is ordered, after ten minutes you ask and you don't know anything about the order... If something goes wrong with the train, it takes a few minutes for it to be taken care of. Sometimes 1-2 errors when calculating the points in the system. There is only one toilet for the entire store, so a single room for everyone... The first and the last time!

Great flair and a relaxed, mixed atmosphere

One star too many. Went with a child and a group of 5. At first it was apparently only reserved for 3, then we had specially reserved the children's corner and the space was allocated elsewhere. Fries were cold and the waitresses took a lot of time, pressing the cube several times but no reaction. I enjoyed coming before and was really happy, but today was a total mess. We won't be back that quickly. I will certainly tell friends about this visit, so I can't recommend it.

Had tuna salad, not cheap, but crunchy, fresh, good dressing and a huge portion. Recommended.

Hemingway has a play area for children. I think it's very, very, very good!

Vegetarian and vegan declarations are horror and no one can really recognize them. The vegan burger is also served with non-vegan coleslaw. If you don't want this, you can still pay the full €12.50 for this sad little pile of misery. Alternative side dishes are of course available for an additional charge. My companion's side salad had also seen better days. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it

The food was delicious, they have a lot of variety of food, too much to choose from, I ordered the Hemingway schnitzel and it was a very large portion, the rest we ordered to take away. The service is very slow, we arrived at a time when it was almost empty and it still took a long time to get to our table, even the waitress ignored us, 4 tables arrived after us and she went to serve them first than us, You just have to look back and see that we had a while without drinks or anything on the table... Everything else was good, normal price.

There is something for everyone here. No matter whether burgers/pizza/salads/cocktails/coffee/breakfast/vegetarian/vegan/meat. The selection is very large, including when it comes to drinks. You can also order non-alcoholic Lillets/Aperols/Hugos. My halloumi salad was ok. There was a bit too much dressing on it, so it got soggy very quickly. The white chocolate soufflé was amazing! We were in a large group. In general there were a lot of people there. That's why it was relatively loud and narrow. In terms of style, the furnishings in the next room where we sat didn't really fit together. The chairs also had clear signs of wear. The waitress did her job well but it was busy so you had to wait a bit. One of us had to wait significantly longer twice because he was probably forgotten. You can go there, but it won't be our favorite restaurant.

Yesterday was the first time there, the ambience would be nicer if it were renovated, the chairs were all broken or torn seats... maybe that's how it should be? The hamburger I ordered used an older lettuce and it wasn't great. The hamburger bun was also rather dry...the dessert was reminiscent of a ready-made cake. The service was at least nice.

Very busy restaurant. All age groups represented. Food, burgers, pizza, etc., salad selection and portion size of the dishes were very good. There's nothing to complain about in terms of taste. Unfortunately there is no cappuccino with oat milk on offer. Incredible.

It was very nice there...we had breakfast. We had a platter for 2 people, where the three of us ate. Plenty and everything fresh. Service, very accommodating and nice. It was clean and also the toilets, new and clean. We would love to come back.

It was nice, but it's a shame that there isn't a small breakfast on the menu - not everyone is so hungry in the morning.

I give -- ZERO -- stars for the Hemingway...the one Unfortunately, a star has to be given. The Hemingway has dropped a lot in terms of quality/quantity and service. Only the “PRICE on the menu” is always adjusted regularly. I regularly went to the Hemingway - I LOVED it - for breakfast or dinner with friends. Which after today -- NOT -- will no longer be the case. I have also had something delivered to my home many times in the past. I am of the opinion that if something -- too RIGHT -- doesn't fit (missing dressing for the salad, burnt paninis, missing cheese or another specified ingredient on the menu that is missing), the GUEST has the -- RIGHT -- to turn it up -- HONEST -- way to complain. I also did this over the phone (most recently the missing dressing for the salad that was delivered). The Hemingway's management handles "justified complaints" by advising the "uncomfortable" guest - even if he is in the RIGHT - to order somewhere else. There is also a note that we are on the "red list" because of the complaints that have been made - rightly so. For me this has the “bitter aftertaste” of insinuating the guest, which is absolutely unjustified and a “no go”! Therefore, I will NOT "carry my money" to this restaurant anymore, as apparently only "mouthy guests" are wanted there and this restaurant does not need to "keep" its customers in a "fair" way maintain", after all, the catering industry, in this case the Hemingway, "lives" from its paying guests!

There is a lack of attention to detail. The food is mediocre as is the ambience. Vegetarian options are in short supply. There is no vegan milk alternative. If you look closely you can tell that despite small renovations/painting work it is getting old. Stacks of beer mats under the tables? Plus points Service was friendly. And dogs are allowed.

A friend of mine had to wait almost 45 minutes for his salad and I ate there yesterday and had to throw up 4 times during the night

We were there for breakfast on a Saturday and were served very quickly and friendly. The food was varied, fresh and really plentiful. Above all, it was very good! The only drawback: Even though there wasn't much going on, after the initial good service and after we had cleared away, no one took care of us anymore. The dice on the tables, which you could actually use to signal that someone from the service should come or that you want to pay, are obviously just decoration. After a long wait, we ended up paying at the counter on the way out. Something must have gone wrong, but we'd still like to come back!

Finally a delicious iced coffee again. Unfortunately there were so many wasps outside that we had to go inside

Unfortunately totally dingy. Coca Cola on the menu. But it isn't. Tables, map everything sticks. You can't touch anything without getting sticky hands. There are also a lot of wasps around. Rum and cake is also a bit far from tasty... Too bad... Hope it changes again

Really big place. Large pleasant terrace in the shade. Plenty of parking. Pleasant service. Good prices. They have a game room as well as bowling and darts, and there is a disco right next door. A large selection of food and desserts and drinks. The food is excellent, they also have a children's menu. You can pay by card. I recommend

It's always nice to be here. My absolute favorite dish is the halloumi salad, which I enjoy every time I visit a restaurant. Hemingway has a good selection of vegetarian options, which is very pleasing.

So I was there 6 times within a short period of time and my work colleagues and I were so impressed by the pizza that we ordered it again every time. The pizzas are also a good size so that one will fill you up. Great price/performance ratio. New: July 26, 2024 Yesterday I came from Bad Berneck with my wife and briefly looked at the market and the park. Then into Hemingway and we both ordered the pizza mix. A dream of a pizza, only the knives, you have to come up with something. My wife only managed half of it, but what can I say. Warmed up in the pan in the evening and it tastes like fresh, plus sharp knives. I think next time I'll order one to eat in and one to take away.

We were actually just passing through and were looking for a nice place to have lunch. In the end, the visit to Hemingway was the highlight of our day. The ambience is extraordinary and perhaps unique in Germany. After entering we were immediately taken to our table near the children's play area. Reservations are recommended but not required. If you want, you can play bowling, try out the pool tables or adults can try out the casino machines. The menu is wide-ranging, we ended up choosing the delicious burgers and didn't regret it. Our service, no, all of the service staff, were extremely courteous. Our meals were prepared fresh and quickly, and there are high chairs for the children. The toilets are clean and modern. We definitely won't eat there for the last time and are really looking forward to our next visit 😊👍

Es ist jedes Mal wieder schön, hier zu sein. Mein absolutes Lieblingsgericht ist der Salat mit Halloumi Käse, den ich bei jedem Restaurantbesuch genieße. Das Restaurant bietet eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten für Vegetarier, was sehr erfreulich ist.

A very nice restaurant, but unfortunately not entirely well thought out, they offer vegan breakfast, but there is no oat milk or anything like that, that doesn't fit. I live vegan and there was no vegan milk alternative according to the service person.
