Excellent food and great service!

We came here on a friend's recommendation and weren't disappointed! The meat and side dishes were top quality, and the service was very attentive! Our steakhouses in Paderborn simply can't compete. I found the price/performance ratio to be excellent; it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening! We'll definitely be back.

The food was a culinary delight and tasted exceptionally delicious, especially the steak, which had to be served raw. Kudos to the chef! The service, however, was utterly disastrous. The younger waitress did a good job, but the older waitress (the owner?) was clearly overwhelmed and consequently inattentive, sometimes friendly, and impatient. The digital equipment leaves much to be desired. :( The card terminal for cashless payments is always broken. We visited the restaurant twice in four months, and both times card payments with EC and Mastercard were impossible. It would be very helpful to inform customers about this in advance when making a reservation. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved soon! Thank you.

TL;DR: The phone and card terminal never work, some staff are unfriendly, and they don't cater to individual customer requests. During an event, we were unable to inform the restaurant that we would be 15 minutes late because their phone wasn't working during opening hours. Despite calling ten times, we received neither an answer nor a callback. Upon arrival, despite arriving and leaving promptly during opening hours, we were greeted by unfriendly, rushed staff who completely ignored our requests regarding food preparation. The card terminal then malfunctioned when we tried to pay, forcing us to go to the bank and settle the mostly large sums in cash. This happened on several visits, even though they were spaced far apart. Nevertheless, the outdoor seating area is pleasant on warm days. Conclusion: Bring cash with you when you visit this establishment to be on the safe side.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and service. At first, we received a friendly welcome and were served, probably by the owner. However, the steaks arrived raw, were taken back and replaced. Then they were also medium rare, but the quality was really not good. The meat smelled unpleasant. The side dishes were completely tasteless, very bland. Criticism is apparently not welcome. There was no apology or consideration. Instead, another waitress commented that we had almost finished our meal anyway. What can we do when we're hungry and have paid over 100 euros for two people, without starter and dessert? Apparently, we were simply not welcome there. It can happen that the food doesn't taste good, but other restaurants have a different attitude towards their guests. As can be read in the previous reviews, this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. A pattern is discernible.

By far the best steakhouse for miles around. A very nice atmosphere with an open kitchen, two excellent chefs/grillers, and all the sauces are prepared by the renowned Italian top chef, Enrico. Top-notch meat, cooked to perfection. Even my wife, who isn't a meat eater, had a very large selection. I highly recommend it. Hearty meals for special occasions are also possible, and the food is really good.

I went to Hellweg Steaks with my family today and, as always, was extremely satisfied. Whether it was pasta, schnitzel, steak, or fish, everything always tasted excellent. Plus, the cozy atmosphere. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Good food in a relaxed atmosphere

I was invited along. The food was good, but I missed the salad buffet. There was no salad with my meal. Considering the prices, a salad would have been welcome. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Considering the extractor hood made you feel like you were on a long-haul flight, the waitress didn't even bother to smile, even though it was very, very expensive at the destination! Not nice. The food was so-so! Nothing special. And I didn't order a salad. That was terrible!

They've certainly been working with empathy for a long time! Local, good meat instead of South America? A change of mindset could help improve things. U.R. knows the Hellweg Klause from a long time ago. It was great!

We were there with the whole family on Christmas Day. The food was delicious, and the service was very warm and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We've been to Hellweg several times, but there was a longer break due to Corona. Now we were there again and, as always, we really enjoyed it and it tasted delicious. You sit comfortably and can have a good conversation. We would be happy to come back to “Hellweg”

Super tasty, would love to come back

Went there for the first time today (four people). The tables are relatively small, just enough. The waiting time was short and could have been a little longer. Service quick and friendly. My very picky wife had a fillet steak, she probably would have eaten half more. Not because it was too small, but because it was so delicious. Like me, my son and my "daughter-in-law" had the Gaucho plate, although not with fried potatoes, fried eggs and bacon, but with a baked potato. The fried potatoes were very good, but I had to leave half of them on the plate. Probably due to age. Fifty years ago I would have eaten three times as much, and even thirty years ago. The steaks (medium rare) were buttery tender, exactly as they should be. Next time I'll probably just order a steak with a smaller side dish. All in all a successful evening.

Six of us ate in the restaurant. When I took my order I found the landlady to be extremely unfriendly. I ordered a bowl with turkey meat, but received noodles with dried out turkey meat. The others ordered steaks which were terrible - burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. Nobody finished their food. We paid and left the restaurant. One of our group was still in the toilet and heard the landlady commenting not very kindly on the table that had been left behind. We had a small child at the table and it sometimes happened that the tablecloth didn't stay completely clean. This restaurant is not child friendly.

There were seven of us eating there. At first the restaurant seemed cozy until the service came. You felt unwanted and she showed that several times with her gestures and facial expressions. I had a child with me so it was unavoidable that one or two fries were left on the plate. We paid and wanted to leave when I heard the waitress complaining to the staff. I find that outrageous. Guests are tolerated until they have paid and then there is such disgusting talk afterwards. In terms of taste, the food was only worth one star. It's a shame that they're not hospitable and family-friendly.

Unfortunately not quite what we expected! At the beginning they couldn't find our reservation, but we still got a table right at the entrance to the open kitchen, so you could hear the loud noises of the extractor system very well, which was a bit annoying. I ordered my beef fillet and unfortunately it was a little less than medium. Whereas my husband ordered his meat platter medium and almost finished it. For such an "expensive" meal, you actually expect what you ordered. The service was very attentive, friendly and quick. However, we were only able to express our criticism when paying, as the lady was really very busy. She reacted really nicely and agreed with us after she saw my meat. However, nothing was reduced in price because of this, or a supplement was deducted from the bill. But she still offered a shot. The evening cost us around €80 and unfortunately we weren't 100% satisfied.

I think the food tastes terrible, I almost had to throw up afterwards, but that could also be because I ate something else beforehand that wasn't good for me. At least I wouldn't recommend it, but you can eat it

We've eaten there several times now and have always enjoyed it. However, our last experience there on Friday was probably our last. The food was all good, although we had to wait 1.5 hours for it (it was also very busy) but the worst thing was that my wife and I were actually seated in the corner of two company parties... where they weren't even made aware of it when we made the reservation became.

Despite the holiday, a relatively empty restaurant. Unfortunately, the friendly service was overwhelmed. Limited number of parking spaces available. Steaks were still okay. Unfortunately, snails are not good as a starter - cheap sauce on top. No taste. A lot of work is done with the microwave. The ambience is appealing.

Tolles Essen, aufmerksamer Service, immer gerne und gerne wieder

Tolle Gaststätte mit bürgerlichem,gemütlichen Ambiente..Super leckere Speisen,die frisch zubereitet und heiss am Tisch ankommen... Das Personal ist bemüht,das der Gast sich wohl fühlt,auch wenn vermeintlich etwas Stress aufkommt(abends und mit wenig Personal...)Danke...

Der Service war ganz freundlich doch leider sehr vergesslich. Besteck nicht vollständig gewesen. 3 von 4 Personen klagten über Magenschmerzen wegen dem Rindsteak. Es wurden mehrere durch-gebratene steaks bestellt. Leider waren alle von innen blutig. Die Pilze waren noch mit Sand Steinen bedeckt und wurden nicht akkurat gewaschen. Alles in allem wird es kein Zweites Mal geben.

Super angenehm,leckeres Essen,sympatische und aufmerksame Bedienung.Ambiente vielleicht ein bisschen schlicht aber alles sauber und ordentlich,alles andere ist Geschmackssache.Würde aufjedenfall wieder hingehen.

Wir sind öfter dort essen und jedes mal zufrieden. Vernünftiges Preis Leistungsverhältnis und immer freundliche Bedienung.

Hier wird man als Hotelgast beim Einchecken äußerlich genauestens gemustert und gleich in die entsprechende Schublade gepackt . . . Einzig die Ausstattung und der Reinlichkeitszustand,sowie die ausgesprochen günstige Verkehrsanbindung (Bushaltestelle vor der Tür) sind positiv hervorzuheben und im allgemeinen Vergleich überdurchschnittlich gut . . . nur darf sich hier leider längst nicht jeder wohlfühlen!!!

Wir hatten Schnitzel mit Schampignons, Speck, Pommes. Das Fleisch war zart. Die Bedienung sehr nett und flott.

Die Steaks sind sehr gut. Die Beilagen (ich hatte Bratkartoffeln) waren auch sehr lecker. Die Bedienung wie immer sehr freundlich.

War lecker aber sehr kleine Portionen....schade weil es auch nicht gerade billig ist.
