Helena in Nabburg

We have a restaurant ourselves and if we ever manage to go to colleagues as guests, it should be something different than what is on our own menu every day - so let's go to the Greek restaurant! The Helena restaurant is a bit hidden and the dining room is not very large, but it is nicely decorated, clean, tidy and the rustic bar and decoration also convey the popular taverna charm. Not everything is very modern anymore, but that's okay - cleanliness is much more important to us as professionals, and there's nothing to complain about. Luckily we had reserved, it was relatively full and during the week (Wednesday evening 6:30 p.m.). The menu is manageable (positive!) but anyone who is looking forward to Greek dishes will definitely find what they are looking for. The prices are really reasonable for the food and especially the portions on offer. After ordering, we had the classic round of ouzo, iced. We had an appetizer platter for two, but it was easily enough for the four of us - two adults and two teenagers. There were various platters as main courses, it's always difficult to decide and so there's a little bit of everything. The garlic potatoes as a side dish were interesting, I've never seen them like this anywhere else. In my "Helena platter" the gyros were juicy and well cooked, the souflaki skewer with tender, lean meat was really tasty, the bifteki was a little dry and had a dark "grill pattern" but was also completely fine. All dishes were neatly presented and professionally prepared. For the four of us, however, the spice was missing, both on the meat and on the side dishes; the only thing that was really tasty (and therefore very dominant) was the garlic. The waiting time for the starter was okay at around 20-25 minutes, it was quite busy and the kitchen was probably busy. The waiting time until the main course was then quite short. The gentleman in service (probably the boss himself?) was very friendly and attentive from start to finish, always with a smile at our table, we felt very comfortable. Since I manage the service in my own restaurant and do it exactly the way I would like to be treated as a guest - everything done right, respect to my colleagues. In any case, we had a lovely evening as a family (on our 15th wedding anniversary, by the way) and can definitely recommend the Helena restaurant for a visit. Super delicious food, in my opinion a real top address when it comes to Greek dishes in the Upper Palatinate Forest, I'll be raving about it now. Prices are really okay for the quantity and the taste, keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

Cozy restaurant. Good service, large portions, juicy gyros. A meat plate is enough for two for 3-4 people. It is worth coming here

This restaurant is fantastic. Gives me the typical style of a tavern as I know it. Friendly welcome, an ouzo after ordering. The food was very tasty and tasted A1. The innkeeper and at the same time the boss of the house were very friendly. I spent about 2 hours here with my family and it was beautiful with Greek music in the background. With pleasure and again at any time, Price performance in relation to each other is also okay. KEEP IT UP 👍👍👍

The service was great. The food tasted great and the tzatziki is a dream. I haven't eaten such a great one in a very long time. The atmosphere is very cozy. Unfortunately, two of our chairs were already very damaged so sitting was a challenge. But we'll definitely be back. The 30 minute journey is worth it.

Super lecker der beste Grieche bei dem wir je waren.

Absolut klasse Grieche. Saftiges Fleisch, Beilagensalat top und sehr Gastfreundlich. Auch eine Vorspeisenplatte die sehr lecker ist hatten wir hier schon einmal bestellt. Aber eines hebt sich defintiv von anderen griechischen Restaurants in der Nähe ab - die Knoblauchkartoffeln. So bisher noch nirgends bekommen. Absolute Empfehlung! Neben der Qualität ist die Preis-Leistung für Essen und Getränke ebenfalls fair.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal da. Das Essen war wirklich sehr reichlich und lecker. Vor allem die Calamari waren wirklich super. Die habe ich noch nirgendwo besser gegessen! Aber auch alles andere auf der Platte war lecker! Der Service war freundlich und die Wartezeit auf das Essen kurz. Alles gute Gründe um wieder zu kommen!

Zwar sehr freundliches Personal aber das Essen konnte uns nicht überzeugen. Gyros schmeckte nicht wirklich griechisch, auch der Beilagensalat war eher nicht griechisch. Das Steak trocken. Calamari ging auch garnicht. Schade!

Sehr gutes griechisches Essen, welches übrigens auch zur Abholung schmeckt. Ich empfehle bei schönem Wetter den Außenbereich, der zum gemütlichen Verweilen einlädt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend - es war rundum perfekt. Absolute Empfehlung! Wir kommen gerne wieder :-)

Schön eingerichtetes Lokal mit Innenhof. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und die Küche überzeugt mit bekannten griechischen Spezialitäten. Gerne gehe ich dort mit meiner Familie essen.

A very Lovely Restaurant, with Good service and a Delicious Fare, We had the Medley for 2 person's which included Lamb chops, fried calamari, beef steak and the side was fried garlic potatoes. A truly delicious fare with a quiet and quaint atmosphere. Truly enjoyable, if you're ever in the area of Nabburg a wonderful Greek meal to make the day better than it already is!!
