Heising & Adelmann in Köln

Last night we had an embarrassing experience: We wanted to go to this cocktail bar with my girlfriend and a male guest. Since our guest didn't speak German, we talked in Turkish outside the door. When we wanted to go in later, the bouncer wouldn't let us in without giving any reason. Later, while chatting outside the door, we witnessed a group of four men and several other groups of men with different women enter without any problem. It is a great shame to be subjected to such discrimination even though our outfit is appropriate for this bar and we properly addressed the bouncer. I really hope you start working with door staff who have basic human values ​​and no personal ideological ideas...

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. The three of us - one woman and two men - were turned away right at the entrance, without any explanation. The manner was extremely rude and disrespectful. However, while we waited outside, groups of four men and tourists from other backgrounds were let in without any problem. Since we previously spoke in Turkish, it is reasonable to suspect that our rejection is due to our origins. For us this is clearly a case of discrimination. Something like this should have no place in an open and diverse society. Very unfortunate.

Cool location, great food, attentive service, only the noise level is a bit high if you want to enjoy the food in a relaxed manner. The conversion into a club is going smoothly, a well-rehearsed team, everything runs hand in hand. And then the party can begin. We raised the average age a lot, but it was fun and the music was great too

To celebrate so-so. The prices were in the normal range - you can't complain too much. But everything else seemed a bit intentional but not quite accomplished. You could hardly hear the music in the back area and the atmosphere was more like a company party than a party. You also have to like the audience, although that doesn't factor into my rating here (for me personally, too many pseudo-finance bros and gentlemen who gawk at much younger women). The optics and music system were - at least during my visit - just really average. I wavered between 2 and 3 stars and finally decided on 2 because the staff (security at the door and at the pub) were also below average. The cloakroom was very friendly. So you can do it, but you don't have to.

Rip-off: Card payment only from 25 € and drink prices do not match the amount to be paid.

Today only regular guests without registration. ;)

Food is really very tasty! The steak is one of the best in town. Dessert was also really tasty. The parties are cool too. There's always good music playing. Sometimes too crowded. Little space for dancing.

Heising has been the address for quality parties for decades. How management has allowed quality to plummet so much over the last two years is inexplicable to me. Presumably for current profit. In the long run it will backfire. It reminds me of the changes to the parties in the clubs on the rings. Very unfriendly staff at the cloakroom, a strong surplus of men, far too many kanax and everyone is there to take photos. Questionable change in music selection. Sad development...

The food and service were excellent. Very tasty creations and good wine on the menu and wine list. The restaurant can do less for its guests and unfortunately that was the reason why we didn't stay longer. There are such and such societies. We had the misfortune of having a very loud company next to us who only allowed us limited table conversations. Another company behind us, on the other hand, was almost quiet. That was a shame.

Saturday night at around 23:00. While waiting in line outside, a staff member rudely and unnecessarily intervened with a friend who was smoking. The cigarette was going to be put out before entering anyway, but this employee used their personal discomfort as an excuse to deny us entry. Their tone was disrespectful and condescending. It was also quite amusing that they introduced themselves as the owner, even though we knew they weren’t! Honestly, not being allowed into a place where arbitrary and ego-driven decisions are made is no loss for us. The music is average at best—we only considered going in because we happened to be in the area. We do not recommend this place.

We were here on Shrove Monday, queued for 1 1/2 hours and after queuing we were told that our costume wouldn't fit even though everyone had one on... sorry but everyone was happy etc. never again after that.

Disappointing store. After 1.5 hours of queuing we were turned away with the reason “unsuitable group”. Absolute waste of time

Unfortunately, Heising & Adelnann did not meet the high expectations. First of all, it must be said that it is certainly a mistake to expect a romantic dinner here during the carnival season. The decoration was something between New Year's Eve and Carnival and unfortunately created a very poor atmosphere. The menu and taste were also a disappointment for me. And to be honest, truffle pasta really isn't something that stands out these days. The starter from the “Gourmet” menu was creative in its idea, but lacked depth of flavor in its implementation. And beef fillet with sauce and mashed potatoes was more on a housewife level. But everything is quite expensive and not justified in any way. The service was good and quick.

We spent New Year's Eve 24/25 at the Adelmann & Heising and would like to praise the staff, who were very committed and motivated to look after the guests. Unfortunately, the 6-course menu didn't convince us. We were full, but we expected a little more in terms of taste, and it was a hefty price - €169 for the meat version - €149 for the vegetarian one. Admission and a glass of champagne were certainly included, but no other drinks were included. The party that followed was exuberant and fun.

The little black-haired bouncer who acts as the head guard is just bottomless! Personally, I've never had any problems getting in myself, but from my observations his behavior towards other people was just... I think someone like that is just frustrated for life, well you know why. I avoid this place just to avoid getting in front of this person.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung top. Die Dekoration hat mir auch gut gefallen und alles in allem war es schöner Abend! Immer wieder gerne H&A.

Katastrophe beim Einlass. Türsteher haben zu Hause vermutlich nichts zu sagen und möchten einmal ein Machtgefühl haben. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

The store itself was actually always pretty cool, but one weekend it was so packed that there was no going back and forth. Nevertheless, people were still allowed in and the entrance fee was fine. When we were checked in, we were told that the cloakroom was full and we had to carry our winter coats with us. My girls and I are after 10 Minutes out because it was way too crowded. It's irresponsible to let so many people in there.

Ich muss leider sagen, dass die Türsteher ( außer einer ) nichts in der Rübe haben und der Besitzer hat noch weniger in seiner Flitschbirne. Ich kam alleine vor dem "Club" an, um meine Schwester abzuholen. Leider wurde mir der Eintritt verwehrt ( natürlich ohne Begründung ). Danach habe ich Sie kurz gebeten, meine Schwester vor die Tür zu holen. Auch dies geschah nicht... natürlich ohne Begründung. Leider kann ich nicht viel zu der Location sagen, weil man anscheinend keine Chance hat, die Baracke von Innen sehen zu dürfen.

Was there with work. Had a lovely evening, received a warm welcome. The food was pre-ordered weeks ago, which is why we didn't have to wait long until the starter was served. To eat: The salmon was really delicious, but the beetroot was too uninspired, felt like a student at a compulsory course: it's there because it has to be there, offers no real added value. However, he is still friendly so I have no problem with the beetroot. 8/10. The duck was cooked to perfection (as you can easily see). Shoutout to the kitchen for this. However, the skin could have been a little crispier. Plus point for the sea salt flakes on the duck breast. The sauce rounded everything off perfectly with a nicely balanced sweetness. Top. Red cabbage tastes like red cabbage should taste and the dumplings were probably the best dumplings I've ever eaten, but that could also be recency bias. Doesn't matter. 9/10 Dessert: great. Sugar on the crême brulée could be a little thicker, minimal. Sorbet very fruity and pungently sour and in combination with the cream very well balanced and harmonious. Tonka bean runs through the entire pleasure. 9/10. A moment that once again underlines the quality of the service: After the main course I asked the waitress for an espresso, which should come at the same time as the dessert. There were breaks of about 20 minutes between courses. I was no longer at the table myself and when I returned there was an espresso in a preheated cup at my place and it was even warm. For me personally, little things like this are what separates good service from excellent service. Thank you for the lovely evening.

The quality of the food is really good, but the prices and portion sizes are simply out of proportion.

I was in your establishment with my girlfriend and husband, but we were denied entry with the reason: "It's not suitable today." When we asked, we were ignored. This is not the first time this has happened. Women after us were also not allowed in. 🤷🏼‍♀️ There were only three of us, from Cologne, sober and appropriately dressed. The behavior of the staff was very rude and disappointing. Based on this experience, we will avoid this restaurant in the future, because that's not how you treat guests!

Food, OK, but not for the price. Service in the restaurant was super friendly and good. Service in the club from 11 p.m. well, a lot of potential for improvement. The club after 11 p.m. is absolute crap. People hardly drink anything because it's way, way too crowded and it's just 3 class Oktoberfest. The store was intended to expand the restaurant with a club feeling on site. There are many discos, but unfortunately not food with drinks and great music... I won't be visiting there again

We've been to Heising to celebrate several times. Drinks and above all the DJ and music are very good! The audience is more mixed and younger now. Always a good choice! We'll definitely come for dinner sometime!

Absolutely no clue with entry rules: Told closed for private party and than taking Money and allowing other ones in! See’s a non german and the rules changes Unfortunately the Only concept to this logic seems to be based upon german and non-german :) So for me leider discriminating on people!

We usually really enjoy going to Heising and Adelmann, even to celebrate. Unfortunately our experience was yesterday on October 31st. less pleasant at Halloween. An employee behaved unfriendly towards us. We understand that the job can be stressful, especially on busy evenings like these, and it's not always easy to remain friendly. However, in this case we were not only roughly jostled, but also loudly asked to make room. The employee's behavior also appeared aggressive, which unfortunately made the situation unpleasant. Nevertheless, the local is very great and a very great and nice local to go to party.

Rather uncomfortable restaurant with a questionable color concept and plastic plants. Extremely loud. Really very tasty food. Unfortunately, we were only fully informed about the ingredients after repeated inquiries.

Never experienced a bar that overestimated itself as much as this one. Demanding a dress code on Friesenstrasse, even though you're only in an average bar, is completely unrealistic. However, it has to be said that the audience in the bar is in a similar mood. I've been in there twice now and that was two times too many.

Heising & Adelmann has a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends. Unfortunately, it was so crowded that night that it was difficult to move through the crowd with a cocktail without spilling something. Nevertheless, the restaurant impresses with good music and a pleasant ambience. Ideal if you're looking for both good food and a party atmosphere.

Came here for a few beers with friends in the early evening. Ordered two beers at the bar. I didn't realize they had a 25 euro credit card minimum. I've never seen such a high CC minimum anywhere in my travels too all of the continents that take credit cards. I decided to open a tab in the hopes I would eclipse that. Tall blonde bar tender girl said I needed to leave my driver's license with her as collateral. I reluctantly gave it to her. Decided to leave and I went to pay my tab. I said I wanted to pay my tab and you have my DL. Bar keep had no idea what I was talking about. Granted I don't speak German so that didn't help. Another came over and they spoke English. I said I wanted to close my tab and you have my DL. He seemed confused. Eventually he asked whom I gave my DL to. I pointed to the tall blonde girl behind the bar. Despite giving her my DL 30 minutes prior she had no memory of this. Eventually, they found my license and were nice enough to comp the two beers. Maybe it was a huge miscommunication due to language but good grief. Having my DL lost overseas would have been a huge inconvenience as would getting it replaced when I returned to my home country. It was super stressful. I shouldn't have trusted them with that and that's on me. As is not speaking German. Zero chance I'm returning here.

thank you for two awesome party nights this weekend. We always enjoy coming back to this place once we are in Cologne. Particularly positive: good vibes/music, easy going crowd, friendly staff - even at the door, making a good selection and keeping trouble makers outside.

We stayed at Adelmann and Heising two days in a row because we enjoyed our first visit so much. Music, audience and location were just right. We were there in the evening when the back area was converted into a dance floor. Accordingly, I can't say anything about the food - but the menu sounds good and the reviews seem to confirm this. I would also like to positively highlight the gentlemen at the door. Friendly and with a good eye for the audience, so you can celebrate in a relaxed manner. Thank you, this wasn't the last visit!

Erstklassiges , cooles Restaurant/Bar in Köln . Im Paket das BESTE in Köln. Es wird frisch und innovativ gekocht . Service ist fantastisch, in Stosszeiten kann’s ein wenig dauern, da immer sehr gut besucht. Man sitzt eher eng, aber mit netten Leuten ist das kein Problem. Der Innenhof ist im Sommer eine Oase mitten in der Stadt. Dafür müsste es den 6sten Stern geben! Einfach genau so weitermachen!

It's a disaster. The lady at the door was super unfriendly and the bouncers were just anti-social. We wanted to celebrate with 10 girls but we never experienced anything like that. We'll keep saying it. So serious is different. But if you look at the reviews here. No wonder!!!!!

The bouncer turned away half of our group because we "looked too young" and there was an "event with an older target group taking place today." Meanwhile, the first part of our group was already in the restaurant. They were then forced to leave the location. Addendum: the owner or a commissioned agency seems to be trying to remove the reviews under false suspicion (reason: defamation). Do you really want to go to a restaurant that can't handle criticism?

Our evening in the courtyard of the H&A was a real highlight. The beautifully set table offered our larger group the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed evening in the vibrant, trendy district of Cologne. The menu composition was excellent and impressed us all: creative, sophisticated and with the best ingredients - every dish was a pleasure. The service also left nothing to be desired. Even though we were a larger group, we were served attentively and with a smile. The staff's recommendations further enriched our evening and made us feel really welcome here. The service at H&A is really on point! This restaurant is an absolute recommendation for anyone who values ​​good food and excellent service. We will definitely come back!

I was here one time last year and it was nice but after that when I want to get inside - they say the reasons that it’s full or it’s not possible, they just select people how they want because some people behind me could go inside. My girlfriend ordered vegan and had huge problems because the sauce had milk, the information from the waiter was wrong.

Hatten einen super Abend. Geiles Essen zum fairen Preis. Super Service, coole Leute und abends Mega Stimmung.

Wie immer sehr gutes Essen auf einem konstant hohen Qualitätsniveau. Und ein tolles Tesm mit einem sehr engagierten und freundlichen Service. Ser Bwsuch macht Spaß. Spannende neue Gerichte und auch bewährte Klassiker. Einfach lecker und absolut passendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die wirklich einizige Kleinigkeit, die besser sein könnte, ist die Akustik. Auch wenn es noch nicht voll besetzt ist, ist es doch sehr laut.

I have been a guest at Heising & Adelmann several times. It was actually always a very nice and pleasant place. However, that has changed recently as mostly only young people are allowed in, which makes the store completely overcrowded. Unfortunately, it seems as if people only pay attention to quantity and no longer to the image or the well-being of the guests. It would be nice if we could get a mix of young and old again.

Immer wieder ein Erlebnis Sehr gutes Essen und Service und ab 22:30 Uhr Party. Wer so etwas möchte, ein Top Lokal. Auch einmalig in der Kombination.

Super laden, aber dieser arrogante (Chef)Türsteher.... Hätten wir kein Tisch reserviert, hätte er uns nicht reingelassen. Eigentlich das Geld direkt woanders lassen 🤷🏼‍♂️ null Menschenkenntnis der Typ und macht nur auf Cool. Das kann ich nach 30 Jahren Gastro sagen 😉

I went there on the 17th of June 2023. Asking you where you're from then denying you entrance cause "it is full" yet letting people in right after. I did not know this was a 'german only' place. I clearly do not recommend this place. Beautiful, but you should consider changing the bouncer.

Unfortunately 1* because the bouncers, especially Shako or whatever the guy's name is, are very professional! Despite good wardrobe and advance tickets, we didn't get in. We traveled an extra 100km! Better go party somewhere else & spend your money somewhere else! Cologne has many other beautiful clubs!

I had dinner with two friends at Heising&Adelmann and we were impressed by the quality of the food. Also worth mentioning is the wine, which not only tasted convincing but was also absolutely fair in terms of price. Despite the full house, the service was excellent – ​​fast, attentive and incredibly friendly. After dinner the place turned into a club and the atmosphere was fantastic. We danced and celebrated until the early hours of the morning. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

I was partying with my partner and her friends at Heising&Adelmann on International Women's Day. Cool place to party in a relaxed manner. The employee with the black earrings at the counter, really cool guy. Friendly, in a good mood and just smiling :). Apparently very popular with the ladies if you look at the queue who want to order from him ;). Our girls were fans too ;P Kind regards, we are the group who ordered 8 whiskey sours from you xD. We have just been turned away by the bouncer because there was no physical ID card available. The bouncer was shown a photo of the official document. However, the bouncer refused to take a closer look at this (picture & age) and insisted on turning us away.

Fri/Sat club evening. I'm from Berlin and often in Cologne. Was there several times 2 years ago. Bouncers were experienced guys with humor and knowledge. They knew who they were looking at. Unfortunately, they have now been replaced by pubescent toddlers who come with memorized sayings from the distant past of door politics and, when asked, get entangled in funny contradictions within seconds and cannot hide personal antipathies ("no individual gentlemen, no one we don't know" .. . 🤣, come on, then that means: "are you on the guest list"). I looked at what was being let in, a lot of average and mainstream in outdoor jackets etc. You can ruin a place with inexperienced bouncers without style. Come to Berlin and take a look and learn how it works. And watch the film “Berlin Bouncers” and write to village toddlers with her. It's a shame about the beautiful shop.

What should be special about this location? I found the rooms uncomfortable. Schönes Ambiente, ausgewogene Karte, mehr veggie wäre schön, toller Service. Leider generell viel zu laut, man schreit sich den ganzen Abend an, und das macht müde. Es sollten dringend Akzente gesetzt werden die den Schall schlucken . Mehr Mut zur Würze, Essen war sehr brav … um es mal so zu nennen.

Das Essen und die Party waren super. Jedoch kam der Lachs auf Toilette sofort wieder hoch. Der war nicht durch gebraten...

We came to dance when the restaurant becomes the number 1 place to end the evening in the city. We had an incredibly good evening! Very pleasant audience and great music! The people from security to the cloakroom are all very friendly and in a good mood. Big praise to the guys and girls behind the bar who make you happy and prepare excellent drinks. Bartender Riccardo created an incredibly good atmosphere and always made us laugh, even though there was a lot going on! Thanks for that! I'm always happy to come back to you!

We - mid-late 40s - wore (expensive) jeans, sneakers and winter jackets. The bouncer, whose clothing I don't want to say anything about, said we were dressed too casually and wouldn't get in!!! Despite asking, no chance, just arrogant blah blah. I have never experienced such arrogance in Cologne. Therefore, I will not visit this location again, either professionally or privately, and I will pass on my experience in exactly the same way. To put things into context: I never write reviews and am a regular in various star restaurants in Cologne wearing exactly these clothes. We then had a lot of fun at another location😄 - but H&A never ever👎

As far as the food was concerned, in my opinion the quality was not in line with the excessive prices. The dishes seemed carelessly prepared and were disappointing in taste. In summary, I cannot recommend the Heising and Adelmann restaurant.

I've been there twice and both times it was great. Mixed, pleasant crowd, I would say 25 years plus, which was great. Music was a bit inconsistent, but the location is cool. You can also “out” into the covered area. Gladly again soon! :)

Very sad, after 2 hours of queuing, only one of us seven girls got in and was still allowed to pay the full entrance fee of €60, even though the rest of us weren't allowed in after her! Without having been there myself, I can't recommend this location during Carnival!

Leider Homophobie erlebt, was von den Angestellten geduldet wird. Nachdem ich zutiefst von einem besoffenen Rechten beleidigt wurde, weil ich anscheinend mich bei der Bestellung vorgedrängelt habe, dies dem Angestellten erläutert und er nur erwiderte :"mir egal".
