This is the only place in Berlin where I’ve had delicious fish perfectly cooked, and delicious see food dishes. The quality of the food in general is outstanding. Also, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is super nice. Lastly, don’t miss out on the desserts, they are to die for!

Wonderful service, varied and exciting menu, rare wines, well worth the price and highly recommended!

I have a rule of thumb about Berlin: the nicer a restaurant looks, the worse the food will be. This place confirms the rule. The setting is gorgeous with an immaculately designed outdoor area. The food made me feel like I was having lunch at my grandmothers nursing home. The set lunch menu with salad, soup and dessert was served all at once on a tray in tiny little mismatched containers. The “salad” was three boiled pieces of beetroot. The “soup”—a small cup of thin, salty milk. The main dish featured three tough asparagus stalks with what was described as “miso hollandaise,” but appeared as plain whipped butter, paired with dry baby potatoes. There is a lot of potential here with the ambience and care put into the design. But none of that matter if the food doesn’t deliver. It has to taste good.

Homely atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Creative cuisine. Unfortunately it was a little too dark to be able to enjoy the lovingly prepared food with all of the senses. - a real insider tip, we'll be back!!!

A wonderful atmosphere - lots of candles and beautiful fresh flowers. The food was very good and unfortunately some things were too sour or too neutral - and the martinis had too strong a coffee taste. But if you sum up the evening: the visit is worth it and it's more of a high-level criticism ;)

It was a completely successful evening

The entire evening was wonderful, from the welcome to the aperitif and all the courses. Extremely friendly staff, beautiful interior and a casual yet chic atmosphere. The view of the inner courtyard made me want to sit outside in the summer. The food was fantastic. Some dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan by omitting components. Very pleasant concept, but the relevant information wasn't entirely clear, which was irritating. I would also like it to make a difference in price whether the dish is served with fish fillet or without (vegan). A vegan dessert option would also be nice when there are already such delicious vegan starters and main courses. We'll definitely be back.

A truly wonderful restaurant. The 2nd backyard is a true oasis of peace. Old walls, old trees, very tasteful decoration, beautiful lighting. The food was really delicious and the flavor pairings were creative and unusual. While the starters were a bit uncluttered, the main courses were also so large that they absolutely deserve the name. The staff was very friendly and personable and at the same time extremely competent. The atmosphere was relaxed and relaxed. I would come back at any time and I think that the prices are justified given what is on offer.

On April 22, 2025, we once again had the pleasure of dining at the SecretTreu restaurant in Berlin-Mitte - and it was once again a culinary highlight. The sharing menu, which the four of us enjoyed, impressed with its excellent quality, creative presentation and outstanding taste. Each dish was a small work of art that not only pleased the palate but also the eye. The service was just as impressive: always present, yet unobtrusive, friendly and with a pinch of humor - just the right balance to make you feel completely comfortable as a guest. The price-performance ratio is more than appropriate for the level offered. The atmosphere in the hidden backyard restaurant is charming and invites you to linger. We were here two weeks ago and were not disappointed this time either. For anyone looking for a special culinary experience in Berlin, SecretTreu is a clear recommendation.

We were able to enjoy dinner at Heimlichttreu on a Friday evening. And for the second time I can say: that was my best meal this year! So good, a variety of flavors and textures, so skillfully combined, I could only marvel and happily enjoy. Rustic German Alpine, sophisticated French and fine Asian come together in the best way! If there were 3.5 stars, they would be absolutely appropriate. The ambience is beautiful, you sit comfortably, the interior design is absolutely great. Unfortunately, the vegetarian version of the meal had its weaknesses in terms of taste. It was good but not justified in terms of price/performance ratio. But the service was super attentive and really friendly.

I celebrated my birthday there and it was all phenomenal. From the first interactions, to the service and care on the night, to the ambiance of the location and the delicious food. We had a lovely experience at SecretTreu. Very friendly and (in an absolutely positive way) hard-working people in the restaurant. For all the stars, the only things missing are small things, e.g. that the music was just a little too loud or the service changed too often and therefore didn't always know who had ordered what. Still a great place. We'll be back.

Based on the reviews my wife and I decided enjoy dinner at this restaurant. A table was booked and we arrived on time, decided to have an amazing night. However, no table was reserved for us. The staff told us to take a place at the bar and to wait until one table could be available. We decided not to accept it and one person who might be the manager approached us, tried to convince us otherwise and offered us two drinks. Despite this gesture, no apologies were given. We insisted that we have reserved a table. His response, "maybe in 10 min a table will be free". My question, "are you sure?" He replied, "well, perhaps 15 min". But it could be 20, 30 min or more. Furthermore, previously they sent us 3 emails to confirm our reservation. We left immediately with the only taste of a bitter night.

This great restaurant is a little hidden away. Sophisticated cuisine, very tasteful furnishings and a generally inviting atmosphere. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Wine great experience.

Our culinary journey began on April 4th, 2025 at “heimlichTreu”. What a great evening! The welcome was very warm - you immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The menu was absolutely amazing! Creative, surprising, with exciting flavor components that harmonized perfectly. Every course was a little feast for the palate. Huge praise also to Kevin for the great service – attentive, relaxed, personable and simply to the point. You can tell that the attention to detail is worked here. All in all a real feel-good experience - we will definitely come back to enjoy the changing menus and have already told friends and family about the great evening.

We had a lovely evening. We took the menu. This was a meal through the full menu and the portions were fine for both of us. Many thanks to the great service including all the hidden employees.

Beautiful restaurant. Comfortable table for 5. Server suggested two tasty wines. The apps and mains were a bit too small, precious, and over sauced. Every dish had 2-3 extra ingredients. They turned the heat off or opened the windows to the cold Berlin night, to not so subtly hint they were ready for us to leave.

A magical Valentine’s evening – pure romance! Our visit to SecretTreu for Valentine's Day dinner was simply fantastic! As soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed with champagne by the campfire and the loving decoration created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. The exclusive Valentine's Day menu was a true feast for the senses! Every course was prepared with great attention to detail - from the fine starter to the perfectly coordinated main course to the heavenly dessert. Another highlight of the evening was the atmospheric live piano music, which perfectly complemented the ambience. Gentle melodies accompanied our dinner and made the evening even more special. In addition, a charming mentalist created a pleasant and humorous atmosphere with an entertaining card game and short stories. The service was – as expected – first class. Attentive, warm and always with a smile, they made sure that we didn't lack for anything. This Valentine's evening at secretTreu was an unforgettable experience full of enjoyment, romance and charm. A perfect place to celebrate love! We'll definitely be back! ❤️

Das Essen ist ok, aber entspricht eher einer durchschnittlichen Küche. Besondere aromatische Erlebnisse entdeckt man hier eher nicht. Das Stubenküken schmeckt wie Chicken mac nuggets, das gehört nicht in ein Menu für 75 €. Insgesamt wirkt das Essen bemüht einer höherwertigen Küche zu entsprechen erreicht das aber nicht. Entsprechend ist das Preisniveau zu hoch.

There was nothing to improve. It was simply perfect in every way. Heimlichtreu is a true gem.

Always happy, delicious food, well combined and perfect as a lunch! Cassie's delicious ice cream with crunch and berries is missing from the picture. It was served later!

Cozy yet elegant space, creative dishes and combinations of flavours, great wine list and house cocktails. I would never order chicken at a restaurant because I feel that it’s kind of boring and something I can more easily make at home but I followed the servers advice and I was not disappointed. Most incredible spring chicken - so perfectly crispy and juicy. One complaint was the inattentive server we had but to be fair she was still in training - I’m sure that with time, under the guidance of the other server who was there who knew so much and was wonderfully attentive and created such a nice dining experience for us, she will pick up these skills as well :)

The food and drink are really delicious, but I find the pricing policy too aggressive.

Wir haben das Restaurant im Rahmen des "Taste12"-Buches entdeckt und wurden positiv überrascht. Es liegt etwas versteckt im zweiten Innenhof. Die Amtmosphäre war sehr angenehm. Der Service und die Aufmerksamkeit der Kellner war extraklasse. Wir haben uns für das Menü entschieden. Kostenpunkt 75 Euro, aber de facto bekommt man alles auf der Karte im Tapasstil im Rahmen von vier Gängen - sprich man muss sich nicht entscheiden, sondern bekommt von allem etwas. Das Meiste davon war sehr lecker. Interessante Signatur-Cocktails und eine gute Flasche deutschen Rotweins haben das Essen perfekt abgerundet. Am Ende waren wir beide pappsatt und glücklich. Wir kommen gerne wieder und bringen dann die Familie mit.

Cozy restaurant located in the second backyard. After the cards were handed out at 7:30 p.m. we were informed that the steak was already out. To start with a starter of veal and swordfish. The young service worker was unable to answer a query about the components. The new card has only been running for a week. She had to ask in the kitchen. Instead, a waiter came to the table and informed us that this was the house's interpretation of vitello tonnato - brawn with swordfish ceviche. The veal is from Germany. Regional products from Brandenburg, such as zander, swordfish and cod, are also used. After our objection that swordfish and cod were saltwater fish and could not come from Brandenburg, the young man agreed. We didn't dare ask any further questions. About the food: the taste was mostly okay to good. Portion sizes significantly too small. Prices significantly overpriced. Two small slices of bread with butter cost €2.5 per pax. Dear chefs - the green stems of the carrots don't taste good. Please cut it off. The low point was the vegetarian main course - mini tart, turnip, celery. There was shockingly little on offer for €30. A small piece of tart, celery schnitzel, salad that wasn't completely dressed. Very unfortunate. The beef bouguignon meat was tender and tasty. The side dishes are more than clear and without filling side dishes. Unfortunately, the tasty dessert was once again overpriced at €14.50. The highlight of the evening was the wine recommendation La Marciana 2022 Rioja blanco DOC. Conclusion: A cozy restaurant with potential. The service brigade should be trained and know the menu and be able to present product knowledge etc. to the guest. The prices are very excessive given the portion sizes, so that the guest leaves the restaurant with an uneasy feeling.

No clear responsibility Atmosphere and submission is beautiful. On the one hand, eating took a very long time and on the other hand, it was much more average than it was 7 months ago when I was last there. Unfortunately nothing special for the price. Very little sauce on the beouf, starters also had a rather one-dimensional taste. Unfortunately I won't be coming back. Too bad

The place has been hyped for a long time and now, after being there twice - I don't understand it. Of course the restaurant is stylish and beautiful - that's absolutely out of the question. The food itself is nothing special and absolutely overpriced. The service can also be improved - in the 2 hours we spent here we were not asked once if we wanted to order more drinks - we sat for quite a long time in front of our empty glasses and plates - they were only cleared away when we asked.

Unfortunately sent away again today. The reason for this this time was filming - in my opinion you know something like that in advance and can communicate it on the homepage. Went there for free and unfortunately this is the last time. Very unfortunate.

Hello, the price level seems excessive to me, if starters cost over 20 euros I don't see what I would have lost.

A few days ago we had dinner there with a larger group. The restaurant was very empty at the beginning and then had about 5 tables. The food was brought as a sharing menu and was very tasty, but somehow also from different worlds. But nothing objectionable in terms of taste. The majority of ours was vegetarian and we had clarified that beforehand, but we found it extremely unfortunate that there was nothing vegetarian in the main course apart from the side dishes? That's just what I expect from such an upscale restaurant. And since I worked in the catering industry myself, I also value good service at this price range and unfortunately that wasn't there. We were hardly asked if everything was okay, dishes weren't explained, which was kind of a shame because there wasn't much going on. It would be nice if you took advantage of this criticism and worked on it.

The food was very tasty but quite small portions compared to other restaurants in the price range. Unfortunately the service could be improved, especially at reception.

Great Sylvester party last night. It is great that you mixed people together, we had a great time at our table. One suggestion would be to play the music less loud during dinner as we had a hard time talking to each other over the music. And maybe to keep the great music you played over dinner for the party later.

So how do I start? When we were invited to a birthday dinner, we found it straight away because we knew it was in the second backyard and I had looked at it on maps beforehand. When you arrived you immediately felt like you had arrived. A warm welcome and a mega selection of aperitifs, with and without alcohol, fantastic. Above all, the competence and personal touch when making the cocktails is unearthly. The recommendation of the menu and the following starters, coupled with explanations and taste explosions, were excellent. Everything was just perfect and harmoniously coordinated. Rarely have we eaten so well and been warmly welcomed. It was a great movie and we'll be back.

The bouillabaisse was disappointing. I had a piece of walleye and half a bulb of fennel in a mouthful of soup.

The service was perfect. We were rather annoyed by playing the piano and eating, and also by the darkness surrounding us. The food didn't meet our needs, especially the fish soup was disappointing.

We had a very nice evening as a foursome. Service was excellent and the food and recommendations were great! Restaurant was fully booked, we were the last to leave after having a few really good espresso martinis!

Great place! We were there with our very small children and felt very comfortable. The food was excellent, as were the wines.

The ambience is very nice. Personally, I found the music just a little too loud, but I'm a bit more sensitive to that. The service directly at the table was very friendly. We would have hoped for a little more information about the dishes, and generally a little more communication when setting up, as the waitress had to reach over some of us from time to time due to the position of the table. The meals were ok. Some stood out with nice sauces and the beef fillet was great, others lacked a bit of finesse for the price range and the duck was unfortunately quite tough. All in all we had a lovely evening. Thanks for that.

Unfortunately, yesterday's visit did not live up to the expectations we have had of the restaurant since we have known it. We were always thrilled. Unfortunately, yesterday we sat in the entrance area, the service is always quite relaxed, but this time it was rather inattentive and not entirely friendly. At 8:30 p.m. there wasn't anything on the dinner menu left, the broccoli was completely dry, the request for a side salad was answered in the negative, even though there was a side salad with a main course. Overall, the food was missing that certain something. Too bad!

Hidden in the inner yard, it's a real gem. They offer business lunches as well as a la card evenings. Top service, food and ambiente. Once we came for dinner and the palace was closed for a private event. The owner who was sitting outside spoke to us, said he is sorry we can't go in and offered us free (!) drinks to compensate for this. This was a really unexpected and very nice experience. All in all one of my favourite places in my neighbourhood.

I would not recommend this restaurant at all. The service was horrible and they even tried to charge us for food that we didn't order. Food was not enjoyable and left with a stomach ache.

A real insider tip. Delicious food in a living room atmosphere. You're amazed at where it is and have to search a bit because it's in the backyard. You will be so rewarded for this. Just do it.... It's great 👍✨😋

I celebrated my birthday here last Friday with a group of 15, and the experience was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like personal guests of the restaurant. The evening started with a lovely welcome drink reception, setting the tone for what followed—a finger-licking good three-course menu with delicious options for both vegetarians and vegans in our group. The night ended perfectly with cocktails in their charming backyard, where we enjoyed the sound of rain under a partially covered area, allowing us to stay dry while soaking in the atmosphere. Whether for intimate gatherings, business events, or larger groups, I highly recommend this place. I was truly blown away by the whole experience!

What a trip: Super coordinated menu with surprises on both sides, very nice and unobtrusive service and a particularly warm greeting to the kitchen. We'll be back!

Just arriving in the courtyard with the warm lights was the perfect start to an unforgettable evening. The welcome at the door was welcoming and warm. We were shown to the table, immediately offered drinks and made recommendations. The service was impeccable! The drinks and especially the food were definitely something very special! For the eyes and for delicate tongues. This perfect visit was rounded off with great sounds from the pianist and an absolutely feel-good atmosphere!

They couldn't explain the bouillabaisse to us - the wrong type of fish, hardly any soup - definitely not a Provençal fish soup. However, service was very pleasant.

For me, HeimlichTreu feels like my living room. The waitors are incredibly friendly, especially the longtime manager, Rob. Over time, I’ve gotten to know most of the team, and that personal touch really makes a difference. The food is delightful and consistently top-notch. I love the art on the walls, the chairs are comfortable, and the restrooms are always impeccably clean, complete with soap and hand cream. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered. It’s a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area, but it’s 100% worth it. You’ll leave feeling full, satisfied, and content after enjoying this cozy gem tucked away in a backyard in the heart of Berlin. I highly recommend checking out this wonderful restaurant!

Location & ambience great! The food itself was very good, the quality was great and the selection was also great. However, the food is way too overpriced. €2.50 for 2 small slices of bread, €22 for 3 ravioli, €30 for a chickpea dish. Despite the quality and creativity, it's really too expensive. Unfortunately, service was also disappointing and unfortunately not commensurate with the price level. We had a lovely evening, but we won't be coming back.

When the weather is good, it's lovely to sit outside. Service was very attentive but not intrusive and the food was great anyway!
