Cafe Datscha in Berlin

I've been coming here for several years. The prices have gone up really high, but the food always tastes very good. I miss the lunch menu.

Delicious breakfast, a bit noisy, staff is a bit lazy

Estabamos de visita en Alemania y fuimos con la familia, habiamos estado el pasado año en el que estaba ubicado en Kreuzberg y nos gustó. En esta ocasion la comida en general estaba igual buena, comimos básicamente comida rusa simple y básica, el servicio fue correcto y bastante rápido, la instalación es bonita, solo la relación calidad precio no es adecuada, la factura fue de mas 200 euros por cinco personas con un plato principal, una o dos bebidas maximo y un postre.. Si el presupuesto no es un problema para usted puede ir y degustar unos platos de comida eslava bien elaborados. Un detalle que debe conocer, no aceptan pago en efectivo, sólo por tarjeta.

We enjoyed delicious Russian cuisine. The potato dumplings I gave them were really delicious.

The atmosphere is nice and the menu have some delicious dishes and a few vegan options. I went there a few times and the staff feels quite unpleasant and uptight, even when the place is empty.

At first we had the impression that things were a bit confusing here - but it was a Sunday morning and there was a big crowd! The service was young people who checked everything well with a lot of calm but friendliness. Considering it was very busy and it took us a while to place our order, breakfast came very quickly and was also very tasty! A colorful mix of delicious things - like scrambled eggs, salmon, pancakes etc.. We had this for 2 people and it was very sufficient! We got a place even without a reservation - so everything was perfect!

The Eastern European food was fused with Western and tasted really good, and the portions were also very filling! Unfortunately, the staff was visibly overwhelmed by the number of guests and it unfortunately took over an hour before we could even order...

Food: 7/10 Tasty but it used to be even better, when we asked what shouldn't be in the food we didn't hear of it Service: 5/10 The service was unfortunately unfriendly, as if you weren't welcome and see above Ambiance: 9/10 I think rustic and cozy describes it best All in all, I was disappointed this time with the food and especially the service. I remembered it much better in Kreuzberg.

We have often eaten there with the family at any time of the day and I have to say we have always received a very friendly welcome and the food is very tasty. There is a large selection so there is something for everyone.

Tasty food in a great location. I ordered the porscht, which, unfortunately, arrived lukewarm. Of the food was tasty and the bee beer was cold!

I never thought I would eat my grandma’s borscht ever again, until I found Cafe Datscha! Super delicious borscht, very delightful desserts and quite cozy environment. The only bummer was the portion size:) this 4 stars. I would love to eat more of that great stuff!

That was a delicious “breakfast”. Fast and friendly service, even though it was very busy. Pleasant "old fashioned / retro" atmosphere, great location. Fair prices. Made it straight onto my Berlin favorites list. Next time I'll try borscht and pickles.

Essen ist sehr sehr lecker, wenn auch nicht günstig. Allerdings erfährt man erst beim Bezahlen, dass das Restaurant überhaupt kein Bargeld annimmt. Steht auf keinem Schild im Laden, die Bedienung sagt es einem nicht vorher und auch keine Erwähnung davon auf der Homepage. Meine Frage, ob das nur heute oder immer so sei, hat die Bedienung gekonnt ignoriert. Elektronische Zahlung ist ja gut und schön, als Alternative. Aber als Restaurant gar keine Bargeld mehr anzunehmen, ist für mich auch im Jahr 2024 noch ein no go. Hätte die Dame am Nachbarstisch nich meine Rechung mit ihrer Karte ausgelegt, hätte ich wohl Teller in der Küche waschen dürfen... Ich empfinde das als schlechten Service und komme deshalb nicht wieder.

Their blinis and salads are out of this world. A bit on the expensive side, but it is worth the occasional indulgence.

Vary tasty breakfast: Benedict with salmon, syrniki, bliny (pancakes). Cappuccino is soft, not bitter as usually in Germany. Definitely recommend. Better to book the table in advance. Very popular place, and it’s known why.

If you have to sum it up in one short word: GIGANTOMAN... The 4 of us spontaneously went to the dacha for the first time and made a reservation as a precaution...you never know, we thought..when we arrived at the dacha, we were greeted by Marco, a real original from Italy...he accompanied us the entire evening and broadcasted it his positive mood in an absolutely professional way, 5 stars for that! From the food to the service, the datscha deserves an overall grade of 1! The food we ordered was deliciously prepared...each one unique in its own way...we can recommend the datscha to anyone who wants to enjoy really good food and service at a fair price...Marco...you're simply amazing. .keep it up...ciao ciao

First visit was with a company Team years ago. My TL was Russian and spoke highly of it. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was even before the shots of house vodka started flowing.

Das Essen war nicht überwältigend, aber in Ordnung. Die Servicekraft fand ich etwas anmaßend. Ich wollte bar bezahlen und erfuhr, dass man nur mit Karte zahlen kann (warum steht das nicht auf der Website??). Als ich mit der Karte zahlte, musste ich den Kellner tatsächlich darum bitten, sich abzuwenden während ich meinen Code eingebe (so etwas ist mir wirklich noch nie passiert). Nichtsdestotrotz schaute der Kellner während meiner Eingabe auf das Display, um zu sehen, wie viel Trinkgeld ich gebe. Ehrlich: Das geht GAR NICHT!

i‘ve been coming here many times over the last years, bringing friends and visitors. ambient, food, service.. it’s always a safe bet!

We were there for breakfast and the food was exceptionally good - with the kind of taste and flavor that only comes from high-quality ingredients. Plus, the portion sizes were really generous - no sad, tiny pieces here like you get in some restaurants :D

Was lucky enough to book a table on May 1st, which is a public holiday in Berlin and where practically everyone is out to party. The weather was exceptional and warm and the gentleman serving us was both capable and pleasant. When we ordered we were served shortly and without delay and our Weekend for Two was exceptional. We had a "breakfast for 2" and that was excellent! Lots of variations on the plate! Everything very tasty! This is definitely recommended! Apparently a lot of things are very good here!

The food was, as always, extremely tasty. But what was really annoying was that I had made a special reservation and wrote in two places in the reservation that we would like to sit outside. When we arrived we were told “It’s full outside”. Uh yeah, I realize it's full outside on a public holiday, that's why I'm making a reservation?? I've now looked at the website again and unfortunately it doesn't say anywhere that it's not possible to make a reservation outside. That would be really important information. It was very, very important to us to sit outside and it was correspondingly depressing to have to sit inside when the weather was beautiful, and the really good food can only partially compensate for that.

I’ve been here twice, ordered 4 dishes in total (borsch, pelmeni, gulubsty, Medovik cake) and everything was exceptionally good: both in taste and appearance. Kwas was also great.

We are regularly at the dacha. This is one of the best restaurants in Friedrichshain. It is a fusion of Russian/Ukrainian cuisine and healthy food. I particularly enjoy eating bowls, borsch and quark cakes. The breakfast is great. In summer you can sit outside very comfortably without too much street noise.

Schlechter Service. Wurden vergessen und mussten fast eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten. War nicht mal heiß. Portionen rechtfertigen nicht den hohen Preis. Wir kommen nicht wieder!

Waiting too long, waitress was very unfriendly. Girl with black straight hair, looks Russian/Ukrainian. We asked her to come to us a few times because we wanted to place an order. She looked very angry and unfriendly at us as if she was doing us a favor. But I often go to the Datcha and was surprised..((We left this time because we didn't want to have such services.

Terrible experience - waited at the table for 1+ hour, just to hear that waiter didn’t send our food order to the kitchen.

The breakfast was very attractively presented and freshly prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is super attentive and friendly. I would come here again and can recommend Café Datscha.

A nice neighborhood restaurant. Fast and smiling service. The kitchen is very good. It serves well presented dishes, oriental and a little Russian. The quality-price ratio is (still) good although a little expensive, but it remains adapted to its customers.

Super tasty and simply beautiful.

It was horrible experience. We were waiting for our breakfast for 1 hour, after asking what’s happened they said they didn’t know what happened. Zero apologies, no explanations, absolutely zero smile, nothing. Just indifference. We had to leave hungry with zero apologies from their side.

Super delicious food, friendly service, nice atmosphere. When it's full, you have to endure the background noise - that's the only reason a minus star is given for the ambience. But overall great!

Great place for brunch! Great staff, fast service and above all DELICIOUS.

The vegan dish with truffle is sublime!! On a table with solid meat eaters and they have verified I had the best dish. The combination of crepe with balsamic glaze back to back truffle crème is culinary genius. Very pleased with that munch!!

Very cozy atmosphere and delicious food

It was my first time today and I ordered the Dacha Benedikt. Unfortunately I have to say that it was the worst of its kind so far, both visually and in terms of taste. Other things my friends made looked nicer, although they were probably seasoned rather moderately or not at all. A very nice cafe in itself, but my dish didn't take my fancy. Service was really nice too :)

Forget this place if you're looking for high quality authentic east European flavours. This place is having an identity crisis. Ready made frozen pelmeni for 18€ !! and avocado?? in nearly everything. Quick in and out service culture and below standard food at inflated prices. Forget it.

Best coffee and drinks in town, honestly a really pleasant surprise on my first day. Unfortunately didn't have the food because I already have booked another spot with a friend but I do recommend.

Unfortunately, my visit to the dacha was a reminder of how bad the service in Berlin can be. It started with a humorous reception of the order. Afterwards we had to wait over an hour for our drinks - without a single word of apology. After the food was there, no one asked once if everything was okay or if anything else was needed. We could have waited just as long for the bill if we hadn't gotten up at some point to pay at the counter. Here too, the service was again without friendliness or fun. There is no tip for this. The food didn't really have any gender and was heavy on my stomach. So I will give this store a wide berth in the future.

The Datscha is a very established café in the heart of Friedrichshain. I was here as a tourist for the first time over 15 years ago and I enjoy the varied dishes every time I visit. Price-performance ratio is great. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
