I had a fantastic experience. The burger was delicious and I really enjoyed my meal.

A very interesting place. The food has a bit of a Mediterranean feel, although a local influence is clearly visible. The island bread in particular is recommended, even if you might superficially mistake it for a German version of pizza. But there is a lot more. There is also enough choice for the sweet time in the afternoon. The rooms are attractively furnished in a rustic Bavarian style. Liked that. The service from the lady working was pleasant and friendly. However, you can also feel the lack of skilled workers here, because the lady in question was traveling alone and simply didn't have enough people to handle the crowds, because the restaurant is already well-known and sought-after. I therefore found it remarkably positive that the supposed boss behind the counter turned away new guests by pointing out the tense staff situation. And that there were certainly places available. I don't know many bosses who act like that - respect! The risk that these guests will not come back should not be underestimated. Therefore 5 stars plus! So if you want to eat delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere, then you've come to the right place.

We ate there for the first time during our Lake Constance vacation in September 2024 and were pleasantly surprised. Very nice service, delicious food (Buddha and Zanderbowl), value for money is right. All in all, a great restaurant

Food ok, service ok, toilets a disaster. No hand drying paper, overfilled trash can. I report it, “the cleaning lady is coming soon”. 2 hours later even worse. The cleaning person has to travel an extremely long way...

Wanted to eat here based on the reviews. Were there at 4:30 p.m. We actually tried to wait at the entrance so we wouldn't just sit down somewhere. There were at least 5 service staff. Nobody wanted to take notice of us. We then looked for a table ourselves. Then around 4:40 p.m. a waitress came and brought us the menu. Previous customers' empty glasses were left standing. We got up and left at 5 p.m. Because none of the service staff was able to take the order. In my opinion, the staff was completely overwhelmed. Empty glasses at the next tables too. Other customers wanted to pay since 4:30 p.m. and also didn't receive an invoice until 5 p.m. It was also quite cold because the door was constantly being opened

Despite the high rating, we were a little disappointed with the food. The chicken hamburger came from the fryer, basically just a kupnugget on a bun. The chicken salad was boring, watery with just a lot of lettuce, tomato, cucumber and a lot of corn. The chicken on it was tasty.

Food was good, had a portion of eggs with bacon. It was a bit little but good. But 2 points deducted because the toilet room was totally dirty. Dirt in the corners everywhere! The toilet itself was clean.

A real insider tip, a little hidden yet central. Super tasty, everything we have tried so far has been very tasty 😋. You should definitely try island bread. From the water to the food, everything was great. Always happy to come back

Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I had really high hopes after reading the menu. The menu offers a lot of good, modern dishes (falafel burgers, vegetarian and vegan dishes, etc.), which is why I was really looking forward to visiting the restaurant. I ordered (as recommended by the chef/head chef) the ravioli filled with pumpkin and ricotta. Unfortunately, when the plate arrived, which was far too small for this large portion of ravioli, my food was cold. I complained and the plate came back after about 10 minutes (while my partner had almost finished his plate). After cutting, I noticed that the ravioli were still raw/doughy inside Nobody apologized. However, they took the dish off the bill. Anyway.

Great location on Lindau Island. Ate burgers with fries. Simply delicious. The children's wishes were taken into account. The staff worked really hard. But support for both of them - especially for the lady - would definitely be good. Always my pleasure.

Very cozy restaurant, the waiter (chef?) is very nice and funny. There are even vegan burgers and bowls. The vegetarian pumpkin ravioli were excellent and so was my bowl.

A very cozy restaurant on the island with a small but tasty selection of food. Fresh, homemade pasta was offered from the kitchen as the daily dish.

We were a group of around 40 people, pre-selected from 5 dishes, for lunch on Saturday. The service was quick and quick, but within a very short time there was a "voracious" silence. There wasn't anyone who wasn't happy, whether it was salad or fish. We were there again in the afternoon - the selection of cakes was absolutely sufficient and - like lunch - was very, very good. I will be going there with my family soon.

A very nice, cozy restaurant on the island of Lindau. The burger was very tasty and the meat was juicy. The island bread was similar to a pizza but was also very tasty and is highly recommended. The service was okay, the employee behind the bar was a bit helpless and poured my shandy into a wheat beer glass. The chef was very friendly and told us that there would be fresh ravioli today and that he prepares different fresh pasta dishes every day. All in all, it's a nice place to have a delicious meal right by the lake.

We waited 1.5 hours for the food and then we left. The beer was good but the service leaves something to be desired. The food was certainly good but don't come hungry is our tip!

We visited our hometown for dinner twice during one week of vacation and were very satisfied both times. The prices are okay, the service was very nice and accommodating. If you want to eat vegetarian food, this is the right place for you; the bowls are recommended. The boss also offers dishes at short notice that are not on the menu. We will visit home again on our next vacation at Lake Constance.

Wir waren in unseren 3 Wochen Aufenthalt im Allgäu, 2 mal in Lindau (Insel). Wir haben uns aus dem Bauch heraus für diese Lokalität entschieden und es war die beste Entscheidung überhaupt! So ein toller Service, freundlich, hilfsbereit und geduldig ist selten. Wir Mütter mit Kindern können guten Gewissens behaupten, daß so etwas nicht selbstverständlich ist. Wir waren zur Mutter Kind Kur außerhalb untergebracht und was wir da Teils erlebten war unglaublich, umso mehr waren wir begeistert als wir in Lindau die Heimat gefunden haben. Wir waren in unseren 3 Wochen Kur exakt 2 mal in Lindau ( traumhaft schön) und haben es uns exakt 2 mal in der Heimat gut gehen lassen! Vielen Dank für den tollen Service und das sehr leckere Essen! Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt! Ihr seid super! Weiter so und beim nächsten Besuch sind wir wieder bei euch zu Gast! Die Mamas der Sonnenalm

Local in the city center of the island of Lindau. There is a lot of seating, so you can easily find a spot. I had a salad bowl and have to admit that I can't recommend this dish, the bowl consisted too much of onions for my taste, which had a huge impact on the taste, sometimes less is more. Given that we were told that most of the bowl was already prepared, I found 45 minutes to be a very long wait, especially at lunchtime on weekdays. Our friends' salad plates generally looked good and generous, so maybe it was just my choice of food. But what is not possible is the passage to the toilets and the toilets. It was so incredibly dirty here that I would have preferred to take public transport. That's really not possible because the place itself looks very nice and clean.

We went on a bike ride and ended up in this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, excellent place to spend the evening. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time until we were served. It took almost 30 minutes before we could place the order. All I can say about the coffee and the apple strudel is that everything tastes great. I think they just didn't have enough staff. At that moment, the two men were simply overwhelmed. They were nice and accommodating but overwhelmed

The location is nice and the Inselbrot are an interesting form of Pizza. However I’m giving a 3-atar because my wife’s salad had some sand in it and the poor waitress was practically alone doing the orders and serving. Everything took time. My Buddha bowl was ok but not very flavoursome. Portions were BIG! Good idea but some things could be improved

Finally real pasta cooked in front of you. 5 stars because it is too rare as the number of pseudo Italians flourishes in all the streets.

The atmosphere is nice and the service friendly, but the bowls we took were really overpriced compared to their size and ingredients. Moreover, there is no baby changing table.

The food was delicious but the service was extremely understaffed, I felt sorry for both of them! But you had to wait an extremely long time to be able to order something or to pay. The people next to us at the table were already asking us if it was self-service when we came out whining. That's really a shame!

We are French, we love good food, real unprocessed products. First time we come across a restaurant like this... 85€ for 4 hamburgers, yes 4 hamburgers!!! (without dessert, aperitif or wine). They charged us for 2 jugs (tap water) 5.20. The hamburgers were really, really bad: 1, it wasn't real ground meat but frozen steak (I'm sure of it since, at home, we only eat real ground steak from the butcher); 2, very very cooked (we were not asked for cooking, and for good reason, frozen steak); 3, steak filled with fat, all elastic, impossible to cut (I'm not exaggerating). We didn't even eat them, even our 13 and 16 year olds left them. Vegetables: tasteless, no taste. Even McDonald's is better. I don't know if it's because we arrived at 2:30 p.m., maybe there was no steak left?! In this case, it is better not to offer anything to customers....We waited 40 minutes to be served....the male managers spoke very badly to a young seasonal worker. In short, we felt robbed, really! Theft! To flee. They were lucky that we didn't speak German.....

The staff in the guest room is a disaster! No greeting or farewell to the guests, extremely long waiting times even though the restaurant is not full, coffee comes after breakfast of course with a waiting time! We were in the restaurant for an hour, during which time 10 guests left the restaurant without ordering anything... Tables were not cleared and the guests were ignored. I have never seen such a poorly organized, haphazard team. The 2 stars from me are for the kitchen staff, who prepare the food with love and for the beautifully furnished restaurant. I would recommend that the team at the restaurant spend a season in a winter sports resort, because there they would learn how to work in the catering industry.

Good food in a relaxed atmosphere

The awarding of stars says a lot... Long wait for the order, even longer wait for the ordered food. The staff seemed quite overwhelmed and sometimes very hectic... which is not conducive to the guests' feeling of well-being. An espresso was served cold, but was brought back after complaints.

Afschuwelijke avond. We kregen de zogenaamde “special” aangeboden. Dit bleek een gigantisch berg gebroken tagliatelle pasta vermengd met hompen kaas, en voor mijn vriend een bijna rauw stuk kalfsvlees. Daarnaast bleef de ober aandringen dat we hier foto’s van “moesten” maken, omdat de bereiding zo speciaal zou moeten zijn. Het eten was uiterst teleurstellend, en we vermoeden dat de rekening niet klopt (een bon van het eten kregen we niet, alleen het eindbedrag?). Door het beschamende eten wilden we zo snel mogelijk weg. Ga hier niet eten!! Trap niet in het mooie uiterlijk van het restaurant.

Very nicely decorated restaurant. The staff is also very friendly and asks if everything is still ok. The food came quickly and was lovingly prepared. The fries in particular are really fantastic. But the burgers and pasta bowl were also very tasty!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Even though the store was almost empty and there were four service employees, the staff seemed bored and the drinks took almost 20 minutes. The burgers (chicken and cheeseburger) took even longer, as they cost €15 each without any side dishes and were completely bland and tasteless. The sweet potato fries were convincing, but even then they only served careless packets of ketchup and mayo for €9.50. The shop itself looks nice but it was very dirty. The door to the toilet was very dirty, the corridor there apparently hadn't been cleaned for weeks and the toilet smelled of old grease. Overall it was very dirty throughout the restaurant, tables were not wiped down. The dirty dishes were stacked outside even though they could have been brought in, there were enough staff. In the end we were served by different people, each of whom didn't know that we had already ordered. Overall, for €50 for two burgers + fries with two drinks, it's a disgrace.

Super slow service... We waited before the table we sat at was cleared, then before it was cleaned, then again before a menu was brought to us... The whole thing took almost 2 hours for a simple dish. But the hamburger and the bowl were very good and we were comfortable. Surprise at the time of the bill, the hamburger displayed at €17.80 was billed at €23.30, the fries accompanying the hamburger were charged at €5.50 (not displayed on the menu).

When the summer weather is nice, you can sit outside under shady umbrellas on the market square. Very attentive friendly staff. Attractive menu.

The Heimat restaurant is idyllically located on a large square directly in front of the Protestant church. Despite the construction site, there are enough outdoor seating options. Inside you can also expect a modern, yet rustic atmosphere with lots of wood. We sat outside and were served friendly and quickly. Drinks and food also came very quickly. The selection is large and diverse. From Bowles to Berger to Landbroten (smaller pizzas). Everything is included with salad. The bowls are reasonably priced and very tasty. Could use a little less sauce. The Berger, however, is relatively expensive at €15 without a side dish. Fine fries as a side dish cost six euros, or nine euros alone. I find this pricing policy a bit unfortunate.

Every dish came quickly, service was prompt and every bite was bursting with flavor.

Beautifully done restaurant, enjoyed a great breakfast in a great atmosphere.

We had a late second breakfast here. The coffee was very tasty and so was the scrambled eggs and smoothie. We were lucky to find a seat in one of the open terrace windows. My son (9) found it very comfortable. The service was very nice. We'd love to come back.

Spontaneously went there for dinner with our 2 boys, very good service and the food was really delicious. The homemade pasta is recommended and our kids loved the well-seasoned fries! Thank you for the sample of the mega bowl!

Beautifully located on the market square, with a large outdoor area. We had island bread with salad, good value for money. At 6 p.m. the bells of the neighboring church rang very loudly for exactly 15 minutes - so that any communication at the table was virtually impossible during that time. The restaurant can't do anything about it, but in my opinion it's still part of the overall impression. Otherwise a solid address with fair prices and good service.
