Haveli in Berlin

Very, very tasty food and lovely hospitality! We were visiting Berlin and were looking for an authentic Indian restaurant. Our expectations were fully met. We had samosas as a starter which were fantastically flavorful. We also had a pair of poppadams with pickles, which were also very good. For the main course we had Tandoori Chicken (super tender, not too spicy) and the Lamb "Haveli" (quite spicy, but also very tender). We say thank you for the lovely evening and would love to come back!

I have been coming to Haveli for 15 years. Service is always top and personal. My absolute favorite food is chicken haveli. I have never had a similarly tasty dish from any other Indian restaurant.

Ein familiär geführtes indisches Restaurant. Die ganze Familie hilft mit und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Wir sind noch nie enttäuscht worden. Gehen mindestens einmal im Monat dort essen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Die Rezepturen sind köstlich. Sehr zu empfehlen. Das Haveli gehört zu jedem Berlin-Besuch.

Beste Qualität der großen indischen Essen, sehr schmackhaft und sehr authentisch leckeres Essen. Das Fleisch ist sehr gut gemacht. Die Familie des Besitzers ist sehr freundlich. Das Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und sorgt für frisches Essen in kürzester Zeit. Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, angenehme Preise für so gutes Essen. Sehr empfehlenswert und ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

One of our absolute favorite Indian places in Berlin. Super delicious food and friendly staff, family run. In terms of price, you can hardly beat Haveli and the quality of the food is always at a very high level. In addition, nothing is prepared and reheated here, but rather freshly prepared.

Wir waren mit der Familie essen, Grund dafür war ein feierlicher Anlass in der Familie. Das Essen war wunderbar, es war super gewürzt, das Fleisch war schön zart und man hat gemerkt mit wieviel Liebe das Essen zubereitet wurde. Des Weiteren war es ein Service vom feinsten, höflich und freundliches Personal mit guter Laune und Spaß bei dem was sie machen. Alles in allem waren wir alle sehr zufrieden und freuen uns auf das nächste Mal.

We decided to eat here after seeing that it was the best rated Indian restaurant in Berlin, and I can say with certainty that it lived up to that standard. We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. The food was amazing and the portions were generous, and all at a great price! I would highly recommend the delicious mango lassi and the samosas. I’ll be certain to visit the next time I’m in Berlin!

The food is very delicious and the staff is very friendly and if I talk about atmosphere, the atmosphere is heavenly. The spicy tandoori chicken and the tasty butter chicken, and the Wonderful mango lassi will always be remembered.

While the food was delicious, two of the dishes that weren’t supposed to have nuts came out with almonds on them. Our son has a nut allergy, and even though we sent those two dishes back, he reacted to something he ate. We didn’t tell them about the allergy before we ordered because we trusted the ingredient information on the menu, so be careful.

Good Indian restaurant with very tasty food. Recommended for starters, main courses and desserts. Also have very tasty anti-alcoholic cocktails. The service is friendly, attentive and humorous. Absolutely recommended. Portions are just right. Rice can be reordered.

Really good food and nice staff would eat again if I didn’t live in another country

We choose deliberately for an Indian restaurant, because for one of us it was the first time in an Indian restaurant. What a excellent experience. The flavors of the lamb and chicken based meals (both named) Haveli were well balanced and delicious. The service was very friendly and excellent.

Update 9.8.24: Service and food was spectacular as always and eating outside is wonderful. Today, I had butter chicken (as usual) and was amazing! The almond cream soup and the strong drinks made for a wonderful evening. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!🙂🙂

Super delicious Indian food. Can't go wrong in the city!

En av dom bästa indiska restaurangerna jag ätit på. Delade på en Panir Jhalfrezi och en Shahi panir. Bad om 1,5 styrka av 3 och det var perfekt. Skriver inte omdömen någonsin, men jag kände att det var på sin plats när man blir såhär nöjd.

Rekommenderar hett denna indiska restaurang. Vi hittade den via högt betyg på tripadvisor och jag måste verkligen instämma på kvalitén, och jag skriver vanligtvis inte omdömen. Detta var definitivt en av godaste indiska måltider jag någonsin ätit. Vi beställde Shahi Panir och Panir Jhalfrezi och båda var supergoda, men Shahi Panir var snäppet bättre. Om du är på jakt efter bra vegetarisk/indisk mat i Berlin är detta rätt ställe!

We were craving Indian food while visiting Berlin and chose Haveli based on good reviews. We ordered cocktails which were delicious and also somehow very strong, which was surprising but we appreciated it! The mixed appetizer platter was delicious. We got the chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. The butter chicken was really good and sweeter than I have had at other restaurants. The chicken tikka masala was very different than what I have had eating Indian food in the US and was not our favorite but still good. The consistency of the chicken in both dishes was different than what we are used to having, again I believe this may just be a difference on how the dish is prepared from country to country. Cheese naan and garlic naan were also very good. They gave us free shots of a mango liqueur which was delicious. My only critique is that we were charged for tap water. I don’t agree with charging for water in general, but charging for tap water seems even more unethical to me. Service was very fast and wait staff were attentive to all of our needs. Overall it was a good experience and I would eat at Haveli again.

We sat outside. It was fairly busy for a Sunday. We had poppadoms with pickles followed by chicken tikka masala and 'lamb Haveli' with a peshwari naan. The dishes come with basmati rice so we didn't order any more. I had a lychee lassi and my wife just had tonic water. The food was really lovely from start to finish and the service was very friendly and attentive. Prices were very fair.

Very good advice when ordering, the boss always kept an eye on whether I tolerated the spicy Battak Madras well and could handle the spiciness. With a mango lassi, which was really tasty, this was absolutely problem-free. Very lovingly and family-run, the boss also asked at the table whether everything was okay, we'll be back. One of the best Indians in town in my opinion. Thank you very much for the lovely evening!

Love Indian food. Eat it whenever I travel and that is all over the world. This is going to be the closest to the best Indian food you are going to get outside of India. As a vegetarian, OMG! The options. I have been a few times and always get something new and am always so delighted to have gone. The non-vegetarians rave about their dishes as well. If you want a GREAT meal, at a non-fancy restaurant that serves amazing food, this is a must.

Exceptionally good food. In the kitchen you know how to handle spices. The Indian white wine should definitely be tried! Service attentive and quick. Even the boss stopped by my place for a chat. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The garden is large and covered with very beautiful plants. Finally, you get a mango schnapps on the house: wonderful quality, smooth in taste and great natural mango aftertaste. It was worth looking for and finding this restaurant, which used to be on another street off Viktoria-Luise-Park and whose name I unfortunately didn't remember at the time!

Very very authentic food. The operators and the service staff are all Indians. I just didn't find the ambience that nice. Reminds me of an old pub. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. I'd love to come back!

Sensational tomato soup. Main courses very tasty. The red wine also comes from the wine cabinet - great. Even the cocktails are very tasty. Brilliant operators.

The food is wonderfully Indian, the salty lassi in particular is delicious, and it is pleasantly relaxed and untouristy there. I really like going there.

The Haveli has been our regular restaurant for years and for us the Haveli is the measure of all things when it comes to Indian cuisine. Here you can get authentic Indian dishes, prepared with all the great spices that are known in Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, we have had bad luck in other Indian restaurants, where they save on the beautiful spices for cost reasons and instead serve the dishes with flour sauces. Not in the Haveli - all the spices find their way into the dishes here. I can hardly put into words how amazingly good the food is there. In addition, it is a family business and not a restaurant chain. If you live in Berlin or are coming to Berlin - don't miss a visit to the Haveli. Reservation is strongly recommended!

The food is so good that it reminded me of eating my mother’s food. The food was amazing but the wonderful people running the restaurant are so helpful and friendly. Honestly if you want home cooked food but in a restaurant then this is definitely the place to come. My sister has allergies and the care the owner took of making sure she was well taken care of. If you’re in Berlin then I definitely think this restaurant is worth a visit. We thoroughly recommend Haveli Berlin!!!

Sur la base des excellentes critiques postées sur Tripadvisor, nous nous sommes rendus dans ce restaurant berlinois, assez excentré mais dans un quartier résidentiel très agréable. Une carte très longue et fournie nous a été proposée où nous avons pu faire des choix variés. Les plats qu'on nous a servis étaient souvent inégaux: un Dal sans saveur ni arôme, des cheese naan pratiquement sans fromage (qui plus est, pas de la crème de gruyère comme il est de coutume partout), un kulfi qui n'en était pas un, plutôt une crème glacée à la pistache avec des amandes effilées dessus... mais aussi quelques assez bonnes surprises: un butter chicken assez savoureux ou un agneau aux épinards plutôt bien assaisonné... Bref, c'est une impression mitigée. Globalement, j'ai trouvé que les plats manquaient de parfums, alors même que la cuisine indienne en regorge. Si le service est très agréable et souriant, il reste encore à parcourir pour mérité les éloges qu'on peut lire par ailleurs ici!

Das Essen war super lecker und auf Wunsch auch wirklich scharf. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist das es ziemlich kalt war und Musik wäre schön gewesen, aber sonst auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung.

An absolutely delicious dinner on a lively terrace with exemplary service. We tried the samosas, pakoras, butter chicken, dal makhani and naan, and left very happy.

This was our second visit, lovely to sit outside, comfortable and relaxed. Starter and main were fabulous, on par with great UK Indian restaurants. Service was great, courteous and polite staff. Definitely recommend, will sure to be back.

I don't know why 4.5 start to this Restaurant , either people have Bad taste of indian food or never have good one like in Frankfurt We order Tikka Chicken which was first burned to max then curry was so sweet seems like cooked 3 day before , Also Garlic Naan was so hard like German Bread after 2 Days . I would say please order a little then check then go for maxmimum we did same so not a huge loss to us ..

Großes Lob an die Köche und Kellner dieses Restaurants. Sie waren sehr aufmerksam und brachten stets Nachschub, sobald etwas ausging. Das Essen war geschmacklich eine 10/10, die Schärfe war perfekt getroffen. Der Gastgarten ist im Sommer herrlich und in einer ruhigen Gegend. Am Ende haben wir vom Chef noch einen hausgemachten Chai bekommen. Alles in allem würde ich dieses Restaurant jedem ans Herz legen, der qualitativ hochwertiges indisches Essen haben möchte. Kommen gerne wieder!

Beware! the reviews as absolutely misguiding. This is the most horrible restaurant in Berlin! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! I usually ignore and don't write bad review but I had to for this worst place they call "Haveli" This is a nightmare of a restaurant. If there was negative 5 stars ratings available I would have given that to this place. So I went with my cousin and ordered Chicken Biryani and Mili Juli Sabji and when the order arrived we were surprised to see the portions that they were serving. It was so small that even a baby would starve after eating the portion. We thought it was a joke when we saw the portions being served. Anyways we started eating and the taste was as bad as it looked (The biryani was disgusting and they even put eggplant in the Chicken biryani which is so unlike biryani and the taste on top was horrible. I don't know how is this restaurant even running) On top of this the lady in the restaurant was rude as F***. I just took out my bottle to sip some water and the lady showed up and told me that I am not allowed to drink in from my personal bottle and started telling me about the restaurant rule in a very rude way. I ignored and when the bill came she started talking again on the water bottle. It was a big joke! Food: minus five star Price: three times the actual price Service: no stars Ambience: Its ok Recommendation : Stay hungry but avoid at any cost!

The worst place in Berlin is this restaurant Haveli. The food dont have any taste and the woman is too rude . She dont know how to talk with customers. May be the restaurant will be closed soon permanently because of the taste and the behaviour of that particular lady.

We ordered Chikka Tikka and it over priced at 18.90 Euro which is too high for just five pieces of Tikka. Service was bad as the lady informed us not to use water which we were carrying for my little kid. Request everyone to avoid this restaurant as much as possible

Choose to dine here whilst on holiday, we were made to feel very welcome and asked if we would like to dine in or out. Seeing the roads were quiet we opted to dine outside. One of the best authentic North Indian (esp. Punjabi) food in Berlin. Paramjeet Aunty and her family are a wonderful host and even being in Berlin for more than 30 odd years, she is still as much as an Indian (Punjabi) at heart and with her personality as well. The location is very nice as well. I definitely recommend this place (esp. for the North Indian taste) and will be visiting myself in future as well.
