Wonderful couple who run the place, have been there several times, very hospitable, great food, good conversations, very familiar, always happy to come back

From the outside, the location is somewhat inconspicuous. A lovely large terrace and a small, cozy dining room. The owners are very welcoming. The food is fantastic! Large portions, excellent quality, and very well seasoned! The chef still cooks here himself. The snacks are also lovingly prepared and very delicious. We've been here for a week so far and have been there every day because the food is so delicious. We'll be here for a few more days and will continue to enjoy it.

Super nice, had a great meal that evening. The only downside was that the beer wasn't my cup of tea, although the schnapps was very good.

A very nice terrace, and my food was also very good. The service was very friendly, and even the lettuce is homegrown. Everything is fresh, nothing to complain about.

Haus Ammonit is a wonderful insider tip for a few relaxing days in Franconia 🙂 The holiday apartments are very clean and well-equipped, and the host couple are very accommodating with their very special way! The atmosphere is idyllic, homely, and the terrace and garden are extremely beautiful and enchantingly landscaped. It's great that you don't have to worry about anything from breakfast to dinner, if you want. 🙂 There's a cute play area for the little ones.

Is there any other place in Upper Franconia with better cakes? No, absolutely not. Everything here is homemade with love. We'll definitely be back, as we have many times before. Of course, the other dishes on offer are excellent.

We stopped in spontaneously on a Wednesday afternoon. The cakes and pastries are homemade and a solid 10! Quite pricey, but worth every cent. Good service, a small, cozy terrace, like a little oasis.

A very pleasant restaurant. The couple who run it are very friendly and accommodating. They even offer lactose- and gluten-free food. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The outdoor seating area has a pleasant atmosphere. The food is highly recommended for its value for money. The salad and tomatoes come from the restaurant's own harvest.

During our vacation in Franconian Switzerland, we visited Haus Ammonit several times. You can sit comfortably either on the shaded terrace next to the garden with its goldfish pond or in the lovingly decorated dining room. The food is delicious; the host cooks himself, using fresh ingredients. The cake (baked by the hostess herself) is also incredibly delicious. We were thrilled with the homemade liqueurs. You should definitely try them! Haus Ammonit is a real insider tip. Not only is the food excellent, the hosts are also very hospitable, and the hostess gives you good tips on sightseeing and tells you interesting facts about the area. You feel very welcome as a guest.

We spent a week here, and we've rarely experienced such hospitality and warmth as Christa and Jürgen. From the lovingly prepared breakfast to personal recommendations for excursions and tips on the surrounding area, the evening was rounded off with a delicious meal, cooked according to our personal wishes. You feel welcome here. And if you bring a dog, like us, it will be pampered with lots of sausages and cuddles. Thank you both for this unforgettable week.

Very quaint place. We sat on the patio. Everything is made fresh. With that being said, the menu is limited. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious, and portions were big. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

This house is run by 2 very warm people who put a lot of effort into everything and with great attention to detail. I just say cake 🥰 Wow, delicious and just the lunch menu was always amazing, German cuisine 💪🏼🤩👍🏼 We stayed at Haus Ammonit for 5 days and it was so nice even the apartment upstairs is very well furnished. Best cafe far and wide! Large selection of home-baked cakes. Really nice hostess, you feel at home in the great atmosphere. And everything is still made in-house. Always happy to come back!

Super delicious cakes! Best ingredients and baked with love! We had chocolate chili cake and pear, fig and walnut cake on our last visit. Terrific! And not too sweet either, so the flavors came into their own. Whenever we go hiking in the area, we always add a visit for coffee. The journey is definitely worth it! We also went there for dinner and the schnitzel was excellent! Baked in the pan, exactly to the point, and of course a large portion.

We were greeted very nicely and the innkeepers looked after us in a friendly manner and served us delicious sauerkraut and Franconian bratwurst. Our dog was spoiled with plenty of Lyonnais.

We have just spent a week on vacation at Haus Ammonit. The innkeepers are extremely friendly and accommodating. Family atmosphere. You feel good. The food and the homemade cakes and tarts are excellent. We'd love to come back. Greetings from Nuremberg

Wonderful stay with really good food in a great atmosphere!

Hospitable. We got delicious Frankenburgers even though the hot kitchen was still closed! Delicious! Son got pasta with sauce. Sauce was a little too spicy. But the ice cream made everything good again! Even got gummy bears as a gift. The homemade cake was also very tasty, just a little too much alcohol for my taste. The toilets were very clean, great! One star deduction because the piece of cake costs €4. Definitely too expensive!

Ok, tested it for the first time, but you can't have too much tomato sauce, it's a matter of taste. But the pizzas were completely over salted. You also get insulted on the phone.

We had a few pieces of cake packed up to take away and tried at home. Well, they immediately went into the organic waste bin, just cruel. The cheesecake was so soaked in rum that it seemed like a whole bottle of rum had been poured into it. The strawberry cake was also bland. Too bad about the food. And at 12 euros for three pieces of cake, it's also extremely expensive. Then go to Cafe Schrüfer in Pinzberg.

A beer garden with a great ambience. Very individual and friendly service, with information about the area etc. Food prepared regionally and with love. We will be back.

We were there after a hike, the kitchen was already closed, but when we asked we were very warmly asked what we would like to eat. There was then beef roulade with red cabbage, a large dumpling and lots of delicious sauce. Simply great, the food was super tasty. Then there was a tip about a rock gate nearby. Thank you for the hospitality!!

Stayed with Crista & Jürgen for a long weekend and had a great time. Both are fantastic hosts and the food is amazing too :-) We always enjoy coming back to both of them :-)

Very tasty homemade cakes and tarts, very cool Steinstein for beer, Steinberger schnapps...

The Schäufala was extremely tasty and can only be recommended. You shouldn't miss the homemade cakes either and make sure you save enough space in your stomach. The host couple are very friendly and accommodating. An all-round successful evening. Thank you!

It was busy, but with a little patience you were able to enjoy the delicious homemade cake. The ice cream, even though it was still in March, was also very tasty. Prices are ok, so I'll be back again!

The three of us and two dogs spontaneously stopped there yesterday. We were served very nicely, the beer was delicious and the boss quickly made us a "small" snack plate for in between. If you are looking for peace, hospitality and convivial evenings, Haus Ammonit is the perfect place for you. Jürgen's cooking skills are excellent and Christa's cakes and tarts are an unmissable MUST. The garden terrace, embedded in a green oasis with a pond, invites you to linger. With Christa, Jürgen and nice neighbors we ended the evenings in a friendly, fun atmosphere. Thank you very much for the beautiful, relaxing days: Dagmar, Bernd and Ilona!

Mit dem Rad zufällig vorbei gekommen. Von außen eher unscheinbar. Freundliche Gastgeber. Wir hatten sehr leckeren frisch gebackenen Käsekuchen - seeehr lecker!

Waren zum Geburtstag meines Vaters zu Besuch im Haus Ammonit. Dieses Gasthaus ist ein kleiner Familienbetrieb, den man gesehen haben muss. Wir aßen im gemütlichen Garten Schäuferle mit Kloß und Kraut, sowie eine Beeren-Torte mit Beeren aus dem Garten. Schmeckte alles ausgezeichnet. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die beiden freundlichen Betreiber, die meinem Vater einen kleinen Pimpernuss-Schnaps zum Geburtstag schenkten. Danke für die schönen Stunden und bis zum nächsten mal

Sehr schöner Gasthof mit tollem Essen. Wir haben ein paar klasse Tage hier verbracht und die gemütlichen Apartments mit sehr guter Ausstattung genossen. Frühstück und Abendessen immer top. Wir kommen gerne wieder, vor allem auch wegen der herzlichen Art der Inhaber 😁

Durch Zufall mit dem Motorrad angehalten. Zum Glück! Die zwei witsleut sind einfach klasse. Es wird noch richtig gekocht und vorallem sowas von lecker. Die Kuchen der Hausherrin sind der Hammer. Auf der Terrasse sitzt man, wie im eigenen Garten....spitzenmäßig

Die Gastgeber sind grandios und das Essen köstlich! Einfach Jürgen fragen was er gerade da hat und er zaubert etwas in der Küche - ich bin noch nie enttäuscht worden! Christas Kuchen darf man auch nicht auslassen! Ein muss in dieser Ecke!

Ein Muss für jeden der in der Ecke unterwegs ist. Wir sind jedesmal, wenn wir zum Klettern hier sind bei Jürgen und Christa. Zuerst bei Jürgen das Tagesgericht bestellen und dann ein Stück von Christas traumhaften Kuchen zum Dessert. Man geht als rundum glücklicher Mensch.

Schöner Gasthof mit Ferienwohnungen zu moderaten Preisen. Die Wirtsleute führen ihr Haus mit viel Herz und Freundlichkeit. Sonderwünsche werden gerne erfüllt (Grill-Abend). Alles sehr ordentlich und sehr sauber. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr langsame Bedienung. Hat ewig gedauert bis wir unsere Getränke hatten. Über Essen kann ich nichts sagen, da wir keins hatten.

Kleines aber Feines Lokal mit super leckeren selbst gebackenen Kuchen und Torten und das noch zu echt fairen Preisen. Bitte weiter so !!!!!

Spontaner Stop am frühen Nachmittag, motorradfahren macht hungrig. Wir saßen super idyllisch auf der Terrasse, Schaschlik mit Pommes vom Feinsten, lecker Apfelkuchen als Nachtisch, Preise absolut okay. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert, wir kommen wieder, auch wegen der Gastgeber.

Sind nach einer Wanderung eingekehrt. Total nettes Wirtspaar, Essen mega und sehr schönes Ambiente. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Ein Haus, in dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Sehr leckeres Essen und sehr saubere Zmmer. Besonders toll für Familien oder Freunde, die eine gemütliche Unterkunft für ein Wanderwochenende o.ä. suchen. Wir kommen gern wieder.
