The absolute experience and the best dinner I've ever had!

We were so satisfied with our first visit that we returned the following evening. Very friendly service, no long waits, and the food was fresh and delicious—as was the 🍺. The value for money is also excellent. What more could you want? If you're in the area, you should stop by.

During our vacation, as a family with two children, we visited Felsentor several times in the evenings and were consistently satisfied every time! The taste, selection, friendliness, value, and ambiance were all appealing and positive! Whether you sit outside or inside, you're seated comfortably and receive prompt, friendly service. The changing evening menu was exciting, as there were small changes to the menu every day. We absolutely don't understand the negative reviews. When we asked the children, "Where are we going to eat today?", the answer was always, "To Felsentor, for schnitzel and cordon bleu!" We're already looking forward to our next vacation in the area and a visit to Felsentor!

We're coming back for dinner one of these days just because of the responses to some of the bizarre reviews. The restaurant has its own opinion: friendly. People just using electrical outlets... it's pretty cheeky. The owner is right. See you ;)

A well-kept country inn with lots of flowers and overnight accommodations. A lovely garden with covered seating. The food was good, the portions were generous and reasonably priced. I liked that they also served a proper shashlik with liver. You'll need to bring some time.

A wonderful, quiet location, perfect for incorporating into many hikes on the Jura hills around Gössweinstein. Delicious regional menu, everything freshly prepared, and very friendly staff. We'd love to come back.

The schnitzel needed to be pounded better, and the fries were still a bit potato-like/raw on the inside. The ambiance and staff, however, were a 10 out of 10.

We went there for lunch on Sunday with 14 people. It was delicious, and everyone was satisfied. I especially want to mention the young lady serving: charming and friendly. Please keep it up! We made a reservation for our next family celebration as we left.

We, too, will be visiting this pub soon. The proprietor is absolutely right. We should thank him that there is still a pub in the village. Given the current decline in pubs, we would be happy if there were still one in our village.

I celebrated my wedding here. The entire staff was too attentive and put in too much effort. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and piping hot—or as they say in Franconia—it was just right. The wedding turned out to be as beautiful as I ever imagined. My guests enjoyed it too much, they had too much fun. My out-of-town guests were too well accommodated. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable. What I'm a bit disappointed about now, in retrospect, is that I have absolutely no complaints. PS: I absolutely cannot fathom who could give a restaurant with the best cordon bleu in the world only one star.

I don't understand the negative reviews. We've been there many times and there have been no complaints. The food was freshly prepared, not reheated from the day before, and there were no long waits at the table. We always received friendly service, and even special requests were accommodated. The menu features good Franconian dishes, and there's even something for vegetarians. If you need to charge your phone, you can always ask beforehand. I don't know of any restaurant owner who has refused. Keep up the good work and don't let the few who don't let you down. We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely unfriendly and arrogant. The way the innkeeper reacts to criticism is simply abysmal. Focusing on the essentials would do the inn good.

We went for lunch today (on Sunday) with the whole family and were absolutely thrilled. We had seven different dishes and, including drinks, paid less than €100 – the value for money is truly outstanding! The portions are very generous, everything was delicious and freshly prepared. The facility is very well-maintained and beautiful, and the service was super friendly, quick, and accommodated all our requests. I would also like to particularly emphasize the child-friendliness – something you don't find so often these days. We also think it's great that the business runs so smoothly and everything is so well organized, despite the owners' young children. We felt completely at home and can absolutely recommend the inn! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was privileged to sample the wonderful food here as part of a wedding party. I've rarely eaten such good Schäuferla. Crispy and tender. The service was super fast and attentive. The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming. The ambiance is quaint Franconian and very well-kept and clean. You immediately feel at home. I look forward to returning there again. All the bad reviews on Google are incomprehensible! We're from the area and love eating here :) The price/performance ratio is simply top-notch, and the beer garden is so nice. We've always been greeted warmly, feel at home every time, and have never been disappointed at Felsentor! Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant, which is completely understandable given the reaction of several tourists who behaved badly with their dogs in the pub. So, when the weather's nice, we go to the beer garden with our kids and dog, and when the weather's bad, we go to the restaurant and eat without our dogs :) A place that we can recommend at any time!!!! First, I'd like to share my experiences as a long-time guest and, second, address some of the reviews here. The inn and beer garden are in excellent condition, always clean and tidy. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and does everything to ensure guests feel comfortable. The food is always delicious, lovingly prepared, and the prices are more than reasonable. Of course, it can happen that a dish is out of stock, especially if you arrive quite late for dinner. However, there's always plenty of choice. For me, that's a sign of quality, because everything is always freshly cooked and not stored in advance. I highly recommend the inn and wish the team all the best. Best, Joe

We've been coming here again and again since 1992. We've now spent 8 wonderful days in the vacation apartment at the Gasthaus zum Felsentor. It's a truly beautiful setting, the whole family is incredibly friendly, and they made our stay unforgettable. Delicious food, always freshly prepared. If it might take a little longer, they let us know in advance. We could choose between bread delivery or breakfast at the inn. They're incredibly flexible. We had to leave yesterday. We've been coming here for dinner for years and are truly satisfied. Honestly, I don't understand the bad reviews! The food is always top-notch! The prices are completely reasonable! And if you can't afford good food, you just have to cook for yourself. The junior manager is also often criticized here. We've never been rude to him or anything like that. Often, it might also be a matter of how you treat people, and that's how it comes back to you. If someone comes there and expects you to drop everything for them, it's no surprise! We had dinner at this inn in the Franconian Jura mountains while staying overnight at a nearby campsite. Since both of our cell phones were dead, we charged them at an outlet in the restaurant—not unusual in such a setting. At the end of the evening, we discovered that one of the phones had been removed from the outlet. Just before we were about to leave, the owner approached us and addressed us in a rude and aggressive tone. He asked if the phones were fully charged and complained that electricity costs money and we should have asked before using the outlets. In principle, we could have asked—no question. But the way he addressed us was completely inappropriate and disproportionate. Friendliness and respect cost nothing—unlike electricity. For us, this encounter was very disappointing and cast a negative shadow over the entire evening. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant. By the way, the total electricity consumption cost approximately €0.005, I estimated.

Unfortunately, we didn't have as pleasant an experience today as many other guests at your inn. The greeting and seating assignment were less than friendly and inviting; being welcome feels different to us. The selection on your menu also surprised us; we had been looking forward to typical Franconian dishes, such as Schäufele (a shoulder of pork) or roast pork with dumplings. When we asked about it, we received a curt reply that it was only available on holidays. That did surprise us... well, it is what it is, but the entire way we were greeted and served was anything but hospitable. We were served... and full without food or drink. It's a real shame and regret that we made a special detour to stop by your place. We were really looking forward to it and regret that our visit is associated with less pleasant experiences and memories.

We were there again after a long absence. Unfortunately, the food was quite average this time. A completely unprofessional response when we politely asked about it. It's a shame about the really nice beer garden, but then we'll just eat somewhere else in the future. And no, we really don't care about a response; we can vividly imagine their tone after our evening there.

The dishes were very good, generous, and tasty. There were 11 of us, and they served both the beer and the food quite quickly. Later, when the place filled up and we asked for more beer and coffee, they were a bit slow. I would have given it 5 stars if they'd included dessert. It's a shame.

Wir kehrten zur Wandermittagspause hier ein. Schönes Ambiente, schöne Plätze am Haus und im Biergarten. Das Essen war wirklich ok (auch preislich). Der Juniorchef hatte auch noch ne passende Wanderroute parat. Wir kommen wieder.

We drove here from the end of the world. You can't eat at 3 p.m. After 19. Dogs are not allowed. Why is it written on the NET that the restaurant is open until 10-20?

We stopped in the week after a hike. Since it was already dark, we drove into the yard. A car blocked our way to the parking lot. When a young man came from there (as it later turned out to be the junior manager) and I politely asked to put something back, we were rudely told that loads were still being secured there (which I didn't see in the dark with headlights on) and that there was still an entrance below (which we as strangers couldn't know). The junior should simply rethink his manners towards guests! Actually you should have turned around and gone to the shop opposite. I then had to push back in the dark, even though the vehicle with its trailer had enough space to back up half a meter, then I would have been able to get through without any problems. Other than that, the older boss was very friendly. The food was also very tasty and plentiful. The beer very good. Otherwise we felt comfortable.

First time there. Very clean inn. It also seems to be visited by locals (who played cards, among other things) and thus contributes to a feel-good atmosphere. The waiting time for the food was appropriate for the quality. Normally, Wiener Schnitzel with fries are usually served within 5 minutes, which you can taste given the quality. We have to say that the wait was more than worth it. The meat is perfectly fried and tender, free of fat and tendons. The breading, you could taste it, was homemade and not too thick. The schnitzel was fried in clarified butter, if our taste doesn't go wrong. All we can say is: the Viennese style schnitzels there are a sensation! Oh, I almost forgot about the staff. When we entered we were informed that there would be a waiting time. The service and the staff were super friendly. Will definitely come back on vacation. George Modrow

Went on Thursday evening and were warmly welcomed even though it was busy and were able to get the last table in the beer garden! Fast service, food came quickly. Delicious! Price performance top! During our vacation, Tuesday is THE day for the Felsentor. So far we have never been disappointed and can only recommend this restaurant. Yesterday too, the food and the ambience were simply great and the service was very friendly despite a large number of visitors. We found the information about a longer waiting time for the food very helpful. This means everyone can decide whether to stay or not and doesn't have to get unnecessarily upset. Keep it up! Roast venison is the best ever!!!

We were a bit skeptical because of the recessions on the internet, but we went to the restaurant anyway. We sat in the beer garden, which was beautifully laid out with shady spots that were very pleasant in the heat. We had shashlik for dinner. The taste was very good, not too spicy but with a certain twist. The fries were also fresh and tasted perfect. The staff was very friendly. Always happy to visit.

Have eaten there several times. This time we were disappointed because I had cheese spaetzle with salad and my husband had a snack plate. The cheese spaetzle 12.50 with salad was different than usual, drowned in the cheese sauce, was tasteless and the salad collapsed. When I mentioned it at the end, I was told that they were the same as always and that there was pepper and salt at the table from the junior boss. You could eat the snack, but it was overpriced at 9.80. The service was very nice. Can't recommend it more, unfortunately

Went there for lunch on Mother's Day. We can only recommend it. Small lunch menu but everything (roast venison, Schäuferla, children's schnitzel) was excellent. Price wise also fully within the range. Service nice and accommodating. What one could complain about but is not important is that card payments are not possible. Will definitely come again.
