Absolutely recommended! One of my favorite Turkish dishes is Alinazik, and I’ve tried it in many restaurants — not every place gets it right. But here, it was outstanding!

Food is okay, but prices are very high overall. €4.30 for a 0.4l bottle of still water!! Beware: Prices on the menu outside the entrance do not match those inside!

Disappointing… the food was served lukewarm… gristle everywhere. Strange taste. I had to send my food back and nobody cared. Never again!

The food is superb, we are very satisfied, we come here all the time and it is truly the best meat I have ever eaten in Berlin, the appetizers and desserts are excellent. I recommend it to everyone ☺️

I dined here before a concert when I was low on time. The waitress brought my food out in less than 5 mins!!! It was very impressive and even though it came out super fast, food was amazing. I also really liked the ayran, it was dense and fresh. I highly recommend visiting! Thank you to the waitress again.

Excellent service and very delicious food

This is a hidden gem for anyone wanting a truly satisfying meal at reasonable prices. The food was incredibly delicious, the staff very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere lovely. We felt completely at ease and left the restaurant feeling incredibly happy and full.

Highly recommended!!! If you want to eat good meat, this is the place to go. The prices are also perfectly reasonable for this quality. The service was very attentive and the whole atmosphere was very pleasant. I haven't had such a good mixed grill platter in a long time. I'll be back.

We had made a reservation as a precaution. Three men were standing in the vestibule, smoking. First question: Did we make a reservation? It was quite crowded and loud.

Very good overall. Good food and a good vibe. They initially lost our reservation, which I had made two weeks in advance, but they still gave us a table. But they added €10 per person to the bill for the live music, under "drinks extra." Unfortunately, that was very annoying and very shady, so we won't be coming again.

The food and atmosphere were great, tasty dishes, nice energy, and live music all night. But the experience was spoiled when we got the bill. There was an extra €20 listed as “drinks”, which turned out to be a charge for the live music. That’s misleading and honestly unacceptable. No one mentioned there’d be a cover charge, and it definitely shouldn’t be disguised as something else on the bill. For a dinner for two that already cost over €160, it just felt dishonest.

We had a wonderful meal with our family. Highly recommended.

While visiting Berlin over the weekend, we wanted to indulge in some culinary delights and found the Hatay Ocakbasi restaurant via Google search. We chose this restaurant based on the excellent reviews and well-designed website. During our phone reservation, we were informed that we could only stay until a certain time to eat, as entry to the restaurant afterward would incur an additional charge (+10€/person) and reservation due to live music. We therefore made a reservation for 7 p.m. Upon arrival, we were reminded again that we had to leave the restaurant after dinner because our table had already been given to someone else. The lesson of how reviews and website layout can be deceptive was also evident today. All dishes were served on cold plates, the accompanying dishes correspondingly cold, and the taste was far from what was suggested or expected. The prices for the dishes and drinks are in line with fine dining, but for kebab house quality. The restaurant's ambiance is appealing, but the background music was reminiscent of a Turkish women's party, with a tempo that suggested "eat quickly and go." This requirement was also confirmed by the head waiter that evening, when, even before the requested bill arrived, the table sign for the next guests was placed on our table. Of course, one can expect that internal organizational discussions, consultations, and debates will interest guests in the establishment and take place directly at the guests' dining table, so that they understand the pressure of having to eat quickly and leave. In short, if you're truly hungry for fine Turkish cuisine, you won't be pampered here, but rather indirectly scared away. Therefore, it's best to avoid this place.

They cancelled our reservation without explanation an hour before. Really bad service

Honestly, I've never experienced anything like this before. We waited over an hour and a half for our food, and then we didn't even get what we ordered. First, they said they didn't have any durum bread, and in the end, it was still under the dish. Totally ridiculous. My colleague wanted chicken, then they suddenly said they were out of meat and just brought him a cold vegetarian kebab, even though he had explicitly stated he didn't want it. And the water thing was also ridiculous. There's no tap water, but they just put a €6 bottle down without saying a word. The waiters were completely overwhelmed and obviously didn't understand our orders.

My sister's birthday is in three weeks, and we wanted a reservation for 22 people. Yesterday, we reserved a table on the recommendation of a friend, just to get a feel for the place, as we were also inviting many Turkish friends. Our table was reserved for 4:00 PM. We had ordered an appetizer, a hearty main course, and two reordered drinks. While we were eating, two chubby girls, about 9 years old, who presumably belonged to the owners, were at the next table. The girls were playing at a set table. The food that had been set for the guests was on the seat with their shoes on it and they were listening to videos at a disastrously loud volume. When we asked the girls to turn down their phones, they only turned it down one notch, and it remained incredibly loud. None of the owners reprimanded these children. When they got up from the table and went upstairs, the guests arrived and didn't get new plates. At 5:45 p.m., we ordered coffee and discussed whether there might be baklava for dessert, as we forgot to check it when we saw the menu. Then, suddenly, the owner of the restaurant came and put a reservation sign on our table that said 6:00 p.m., Nicole, without saying a word. We were shocked by this behavior. It was like a real eviction. I've never experienced anything like that in a restaurant in my entire life. If we had come without a reservation and they had warned us, the table was only available until a certain time. I would understand if that was okay with us, but the way they treated us was absolutely unacceptable. They thought, okay, they've been here for two hours, eaten and drunk. Now they can leave and the table can be booked again... when we stood in front of the restaurant at 6:15 p.m., the guests still hadn't arrived. The way things went there yesterday, we will never make a reservation for 22 people there...

I'm sorry, but there's no worse organization for a class meal. There's no tap water here, and they sell you a €6 bottle of water. At the meal, they told us there were no more wraps for dürüms, and they gave us another dish for twice the price. Not a good place.

Never encountered such incompetent service. There's no tap water, only €6 without mentioning it. They tell you they're out of durum bread, but they simply add it to your meal. Then, instead of the ordered dish, they either bring you a completely different dish, or they say they're out of meat and bring you a ready-made doner kebab. Don't go there under any circumstances.

I had to wait 1.5 hours for my food, but after that time, my food didn't arrive, but rather something vegetarian, which I wanted to avoid. There's no worse service; the waiters don't speak good German and don't understand the orders. A real dump!!!!!!!!

People said the place is good, but that's absolute nonsense. I ordered a dish which I didn't even get in the end because they were too lazy to roll up my wrap. I had to pay double because the waiters were too stupid to give me the dish I ordered correctly. I pay an amount here which would have bought me three times as much food in other places. The amount they charge for water here is absurd. They told us at the beginning that they didn't have any tap water left, only regular water. I mean, what's that? €6.40 for a glass of water, which we had to split between six people.

A good impression, but unfortunately, it wasn't fulfilled. Ordered a kebab plate, one-third meat, one-third salad, and a few fries, even though the menu lists rice as a side dish. Overall, a small portion that might fill you up, but it's not necessary. Instead of a Büble light beer, they served a wheat beer. There was no response to this question. Overall verdict: Not good!

The restaurant was busy, so reservations are recommended. The food itself was very tasty, although some of the vegetables were a bit burnt. The service was very friendly and attentive. The tables were quite close together, and the music was a bit too loud for my own conversation.

I was pleasantly surprised. Initially, based on the recent reviews, I thought it was overrated, but that wasn't the case. The food was delicious, the place beautiful and cozy. Everything looks very new. The kitchen is spotless. In short, we had a wonderful dinner, a delicious Turkish meal. Congratulations to the entire team.

We found the food subpar: the lamb was far too dry, and the rest of the dish lacked much flavor. It could have been a great dish, but it was a failure. Loud music inside, which some might have enjoyed, but we had trouble hearing each other.

Nice place overall, just dont offer bubblebier, for some reason ours turned out hefeweizen and the staff kept telling us this is impossible :) quite surreal, but the food is good, recommend lamb wrap

After waiting almost half an hour for our food, we realized it tasted completely underwhelming. The service also left a lot to be desired: We had to wait an unusually long time for both the food and the bill. Furthermore, we were given the wrong, understated amount for the change.

The two of us dined at Hatay restaurant twice and being in Berlin only for 5 days meant a lot to find such a good place. All the food served was fresh, tasty and especially the desert, called Künefe was sth to be recommended. The Turkish tea (Goran-Tee), served by courtesy of the chef added to the whole fantastic palate impression. Will be back whenever in Berlin.

I've lived in Germany for five years and have visited many different Turkish restaurants during this time, but I've never experienced such a high-quality and tasteful restaurant. The soup was delicious, and the presentation on the plates was truly appealing. The Hatay Special, in particular, was outstanding and a true highlight in terms of taste. The waiter was also extremely attentive and very friendly. This warmth and excellent service make the experience here truly special. I can absolutely recommend this restaurant – it's now my favorite Turkish restaurant!

One of the best kebabs I’ve ever had! Tender, perfectly grilled on the outside, juicy in the middle, with a pleasant smoky flavor and amazing lamb taste. The staff were very polite and the service was smooth. I’ll definitely come back every time I’m in Berlin!

We were looking forward to a lovely evening at Hatay Ocakbasi, but were unfortunately disappointed. My lentil soup ("Mercimek Çorbası") was cold and lumpy, which made things difficult to start with. My son was happy with his chicken skewer, but my wife and daughter had a major problem: The lahmacuns we ordered were cancelled by the waiter after 20 minutes. This meant we ate at different times, which significantly dampened the mood. It was particularly annoying that a large ayran had already been ordered and served, which was supposed to go with the lahmacuns. While the waiter was accommodating and swapped the ayran, the whole experience was very tedious and disorganized. We left dissatisfied because we didn't get what we wanted – a shame, because the atmosphere was actually quite promising.

It was much better than I expected. We came from Ankara for 3 days and thought we were in the most delicious restaurant in Ankara.

The best place was the one on the main street, where you could be entertained while eating a poor meal. I had Mercimek as a starter, and the soup had more vegetables than lentils. My wife's Adana was completely dry, and the lamb was killed twice; a Birkenstock sole has more juice. We come from the Düsseldorf/Wuppertal area, where we're not used to this kind of food. I absolutely cannot recommend this place. If you have any culinary pride, then this place is best avoided.

Absolutely amazing food at really reasonable process. Everything we ordered was great!

Rude staff and confrontational. Eight of us came here for dinner and we ordered 8 meals which included salads. The staff combined the salads without asking us and brought 3 salads. When I asked the server why they did that he got confrontational and said show me what you ordered on the menu. I told him he has to ask us if he wants to combine the salads and he got very rude and raised his voice. Rude staff. Honestly food was very tasty but the service is why I’m giving it a 3. Not happy with their service at all.

If you're craving kebab in Berlin, this is the place to go.

We went there twice recently as a large group. The kebabs were generally good. We were also pleased with the appetizers. The main course portions were filling and large. Unfortunately, the lahmacun wasn't fresh. It was brought out warm. I must say I was a bit disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive. I didn't try the döner kebab, but it was in high demand. The prices are above average. It's a good place to go when you're craving kebab in Berlin.

Ordered the Adana in its plain version and with yogurt, both excellent. A very tasty side dish in the form of a salad with pita bread. Delicious Ayran. I recommend this place.

I ordered a beyti with a Sprite, and for dessert, a kunefe with tea. The beyti was excellently prepared: tender meat, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The Sprite paired perfectly with it and was served ice cold – just right. To top it all off, I had kunefe – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and topped with fine cheese – an absolute delight. The accompanying tea was aromatic and perfectly rounded off the meal. All in all, a first-class meal in a relaxed atmosphere with second-to-none service. I'll definitely be back!

The food tasted very good but I had to wait a long time

Super delicious, everything freshly prepared, fast service. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere. Everything was clean and tidy!

The food was not just filling, but also good quality and delicious. The servers were quick to seat us and take our orders. We ordered the chicken skewers, lamb skewers, and mixed grill platter and all three were great. Free bread and salad was served to start. We came for lunch and it was not too full or loud, so the atmosphere was nice and calm.

An online reservation for six people made 10 days ago is canceled two days before the scheduled date (without giving a reason). It's nice to be able to find an alternative at such short notice.

For us, it was bad and unprofessional. We're not from Berlin and had reserved seats at the restaurant well in advance for our trip. Now, two days before our arrival, we received a cancellation without any explanation or apology. When we called, we were simply told that the restaurant was full.

Delicious food, exceptional service and lovely ambience. We shared some dips for starter which were delicious. I’d particularly recommend the hummus with ezme. The accompanying bread was also a generous portion. I had one of the mixed grill options and everything was cooked well and extremely tasty. The waiter was extremely attentive and friendly and ensured our meal was perfect. I’ll be back!

Terrible service, slow, with bad and limited food. We ordered and didn't receive our food for 40 minutes, even though there were about three tables of diners. We had to complain... Terrible.

I went to this restaurant with my son in April. The food (doner kebab) was plentiful and delicious. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This was our first time here, and it was a huge disappointment—especially for me, as someone from Hatay. The İskender portion was small, and the bread was clearly stale. We pointed this out, but they refused to acknowledge it. They simply ignored us. Furthermore, the dish had nothing to do with real İskender. The hummus we ordered never arrived. We left feeling hungry and disappointed. Very expensive compared to the quality and size of the portions. I can't recommend this place at all!

If you go during peak hours, it takes about 30 minutes for the food to come out. The food is pretty good. It tastes like what you eat in Türkiye.
